When people get better the bad strategies will stop working out. Your Naruto game would become shittier than any of the games you mentioned if it had competitive people in it.

The current state of rts games is that they're 'dead'. Only thing we have left is big franchises and remakes that rely on nostalgia and now some indies trying to become le new competitive rts like what diabotical tried to do with arena shooters.

Macro games are the real meat of the genre but to get there you have to pass a humiliation ritual of fending off a thousand cheese attempts
The destructible rocks enforcing a 10 min no rush rule is also a fantastic way to train new players the wrong way on purpose so they're even more susceptible to this style of play in lower ranks.
