Are the new hitman games any good?

The popular opinion seems to be that they are the best of the franchise, but the popular opinion also says RE4R is the best Biohazard so I don't trust them much. Also, I dont understand how you play the games. Do you just buy the third one and all else comes included?

No. And the old ones aren't either. It's a series for extremely autistic people.

No, you need 1 and 2 to acces their content in 3, which is really recommended. You can probably get them for cheap. And yes the trilogy is fantastic: the environments are exquisite and really convey the sense of traveling around the world, if that's your thing.

Hitman: World of Assassination gives you access to Hitman 1 + DLC & Hitman 2. Its currently on sale for $35. If you have never played the series its a very good deal. You still need to purchase the Hitman 2 DLC for $10 for the story content though.

You would still have to purchase the Hitman 2 DLC if you purchased Hitman 3. It gives you access to two maps that continue the story. It does not come with it. The other DLC is cosmetic and challenge garbage.

    Only took like 50 hours.

I sure hope it as in hard mode anon because switching to that will erase all your money and gadgets. You should complete a hard run at least once.

I'm playing through it at the moment since its on gamepass, its pretty good but I could imagine it gets tedious if your into completionist shit with all the silly little challenges on each level

honestly it's not bad... grinding it out in freelancer made me appreciate it more, it's like a shitty paris, meaning it's shitty but it's paris so it can't be too shit

the only tip i can give if you're struggling is just look for the climbing routes on the castles exterior, theyre almost as OP as the ones on paris

It is just not dynamic enough and it gets too repetitive. However, they one hundred percent deliver, at least on the good maps, on a unique exploration fantasy.
    >arrive at unique, interesting and detailed location
    >casually wander while gathering intel
    >slowly start infiltrating the back rooms
    >map the targets pattern
    >plan the perfect kill
You will ruin it for yourself if you don't really immerse yourself and if you don't maximum difficulty and turn all the stupid hints, minimap and batman vision stuff off.

You buy Hitman 3, which also got rebranded to "World of Assassination" and you get 1+DLC, 2 and 3.

The only DLC worth buying is HITMAN 3 Access Pass: HITMAN 2 Expansion, since it contains DLC levels from Hitman 2, 2 of which are proper missions that continue Hitman 2 story.

Also before you ask why that DLC got such a negative rating.
It's because those 2 main story levels should be part of the main package to make things complete and non confusing.

That DLC also includes sniper missions, and if anything, this DLC should only contain those instead.

They are very, very good. You have a lot of freedom to complete each mission and each challenge. These games are the ultimate puzzle games, you get thrown into a sandbox and you gotta figure out what you have to do.

Sure, you can play story missions and hints, but the challenges don't have any hints and the elusive target missions are permadeath and the only hint you get is a picture of the target.
You should play them anon, the World of Assassination release has everything but a few dlc missions

Is the new mode fun? The thing where contracts are randomized. I had the idea it was a pure roguelike mode but it seems to good to be true. Like random weapons, random targets, random patterns...

There are random contracts and user generated contracts. The latter are the best

The only downside, IMO is that there’s a limited pool of npcs per map that can be selected as targets, so after a few campaigns, you start to notice a lot of repeat targets.

These games lack the dark atmosphere of the old ones. For example, the Isle of Sgàil mission should have had cannibalism and demon worship like we all know irl pedo elites participate in

Yeah, it gave me a similar impression. The old ones made you feel like the grim reaper while the new ones make you feel like James Bond.

It's a fun little playground of NPC murder. Not spectacular games but if you like the merc/contractor themes then you'll like it.

technically superior if you like more detailed levels and pretty graphics etc
the gameplay its self is second rate, not bad just not the peak of the overall hitman experience

worth the purchase i sank at least 1000 hours into it just autistically collecting everything and recompleting things until i can get perfect runs
but also pick up bloodmoney and silent assassin for gameplay/story whenever they're on sale cause you can get em for like ten bucks
