The Stick of Truth.
Intentionally funny? This on the spaceship. Easily the most intentionally humorous moment in vidya for me.
I like super heroes more than lotr shit but stick of truth was funnier overall
That's because SoT referenced their good seasons and had the writing that was similar to that era and FBW referenced their shit seasons starting with PC Principle and had writing similar to that era.
yeah that's a winner
Literally entered the thread to say the South Park games.
It's sad we must go back almost 10 years, to pre-pozz era, to find comedy focused game.
South Park is for moronic kids, just fart humor or satire that is so basic and obvious that it makes one hurt spiritually.
how i feel about family guy shit stuff got old after the first few seasons
No, unless it's slapstick, games do not do comedy well.
Nothing has done comedy well since the early 2000s. Everyone is so uptight that they killed humor.
For example, as an oldgay, watching the transition from YTMND, AlbinoBlackSheep, etc, to current day /wsg/ and YouTube ... it's fricking heartbreaking just how unfunny this shit is today. It's not funny. There's no community rallying around certain memes and carrying them with new supportive OC. It's just fricking ... dead.
Zoomers have no idea. Millennials murdered comedy.
you're so out of touch
If you think anything in this thread is funny:
You're a zoomer that has been deprived of actual comedy like a starving person that thinks a slice of bread is a feast.
I think you're a fricking homosexual
Looks like someone hit a touchy subject. Poor zoomer.
you're a homosexual
I wouldn't say nothing has done comedy well since then, but you are still right. Shit's just so depressing these days.
comedy is dead
I blame that rice field guy
hey this is a progressive world, we call them chinx now
Hi-Fi Rush actually made me laugh quite a few times. It has a lot of physical comedy
Undertale and Deltarune
Hi Fi rush is very funny because not only are the jokes funny but the voice acting is on point, the director literally dubbed the whole game to give the voice actors the perfect direction
WAAAAAAAAZZZZZZZZAAAAAAAAAAAA
>whatcha doin man?
>nothin, just chillin... killin...
This joke was legit funny.
A friend of mine works as a middle grade teacher and because they were ahead of curriculum he showed Scary Movie to the kids, and all of them kept doing this joke for months after
So was the glory hole scene cut or..?
It'll take more than that to shock kids or getting anyone riled up anymore.
That's crazy he showed that to 3rd graders without getting in trouble
That's pretty based even if he somehow found a censored version
He said middle grade, anon. So that's like early/med teens, no?
Frog Detective
WAZZZZAAAAPPPPPPP
Cruelty Squad, Lisa the Painful, and Disco Elysium no matter how much it makes Gankeredditors seethe
call me a normie or idiot or whatever but gta v dialogue is pretty funny
One day Ganker will learn to appreciate V. It was just as good as IV and SA.
Probably once VI drops.
What's up my N word?
imo it was the first AAA example of "insincere" writing, like the first quip based game where all the characters are sarcastic douchebags who constantly act out of character to quip at each other. like they don't take the world they live in seriously, and they're just riffing and rhyming like they're doing an SNL skit. it's like reverse of camp writing, and a true plague upon the industry
Undertale 2, Gimmiko, Pikmin 4, Deadly Premonition, Mega Man Battle Network series up to 3
Good post
okay, I never played pikmin, is 4 good?
i like when franklin gets employee of the month and lamar looks at him like wtf
>"Knock, Knock, homies."
You're a normie, an idiot and a whatever.
normalgay and moron
It's similar to Borderlands where they just can't help themselves, the characters can never shut the frick up and stop being characters. It's just quip after quip after quip to really hammer in what a nutty parody they are. Everyone in the base game and in the online shit is insufferable and exhausting to deal with.
GTA V gets overhated for both valid and invalid reasons, but if anything it has some comedic moments that hit
?si=Lc3APBJvGUxhXh3H
?si=98DFAwTDA7yftUOe
I love this one.
That's what passes as humor to you people? a white dude getting scared of saying homie around black people and cops going lol we're corrupt while the 3 stooges do a see/speak/hear no evil bit?
YOU! ARE A HIPSTER!
you're a little mother fricker
never played it, how does it compare to San Andreas?
badly.
Deadly Premonition
how did his mask change when he took the weed
intentional humor never works especially these days
I can't watch this, wtf is this game and who is the sick mind behind it
i require a source
Holy frick I'm crying in laughing so hard
bards tale
i also thought sam and max games were funny
Yeah the bards tale (at the time). It was funny when it came it out because I was younger and it did the "meta forth wall commentary on itself" stuff before it was killed.
It would be horrible if it came out today.
Conker
If you can still laugh at all the jokes, it proves you aren't a troony
>conker
>"jokes"

WAAAZZZAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAP
WAAAAAZZZZZZZZZZAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAP
>Are there any games that are actually funny?
Only genuinely funny game in recent memory is Disco Elysium. Different voices in protagonist's head made me grin often.
The nuHitman games in sort of a way.
Games had easter eggs since forever.
Fallout 1 made me laugh the moment i started to play it.
>leave the Vault through the main door
>there is a corpse on the ground, i click on it
>"You see Ed. Ed's dead".
Games as a whole? Not sure
But it's entirely possible to have humor in general
Even the little in between "scenes" for pacman still hold up if you can appreciate innocent subtle humor
Left 4 Dead 2. So much of the dialogue in that game is funny and even after playing 2000+ hours, there's still lines I haven't heard yet.
Is it playable casually these days? I've been itching to replay the campaign maps in coop.
It regularly has 15k + players, sometimes I see it hit 20k. Nobody plays versus though
Technically yes if you bring friends which is really do-able since it's a 4 player game, even versus is pretty managable to wrangle people for.
If you play with randoms you're going to have a fricking awful time.
Ellis slowly losing his mind never stops to make me laugh. I hear new lines all the time too, newest one is when Rochelle dies and Nick says
>Well, so much for repopulating the earth
>repopulating earth with amerimutts
>Ellis slowly losing his mind never stops to make me laugh
For me it's:
>"Just a car? Just a car!? That's like saying the Mona Lisa is just a sculpture or shit, man; that's like saying Jimmy Gibbs is just a driver; that's like saying the girl on the bridge is just a little purty―she is an AN-GEL."
>Nobody plays versus though
Versus has plenty of players.
I only ever see a couple games going not a ton. You can still hop on and find people though
I regularly play and see many Versus games going on at any given time, you're just not gonna get one if you're trying to play the trash that is The Last Stand, or Cold Stream. If you wanna talk about dead game modes, fricking Scavenge. ONE map gets played and it's the worst one, No Mercy - Rooftop.
"BOILED NUTS"? christ, what is wrong with you Southerners?
"Crumbs? Really Coach, that's how you swear?"
Sam and Max Hit the Road
Recent "funny" games
Dangeresque Roomisode Triumverate
Deathbulge
Many Piece of Mr. Coo
Orbo's Odyssey
Slayer X
>Dangeresque Roomisode Triumverate
Good taste although episode 1 is technically like 14 years old.
Then Ganker should really love it!!!!
Man Deathbulge being completely ignored by Ganker kinda breaks my heart, I thought people liked his comics here and the game actually turned out great.
>Dangeresque Roomisode Triumverate
I played the trogdor text adventure game years ago, but I had no idea this was a thing. Thanks.
>Deathbulge
Holy shit I played the demo of that years ago at a con in Atlanta, glad he finally finished.
not a single japanese game.
Mother 1 had some good gags, like being able to buy something an npc says can help you win every battle. If you buy it and try to use it the item tells you to turn off the game so you'd technically be winning every fight.
The underage drinking scene was amusing.
Disco Elysium has me laughing out loud
>YO ANON! PICK UP THE PHONE
Starfield is hilarious
Humor is subjective. Be honest with yourself, the only point in making a thread like this is to bait anons into posting their favorite funny games so contrarian edgelords can reply with "ackshually those games AREN'T funny" to feel a sense of superiority over another person.
Portal 2 has a lot of lines that I find very funny. Even Undertale made me laugh a few times.
I have yet to find a game that can make me laugh, or even smile. I do enjoy comedy in film and literature. It's a shame it's so lacking in interactive media.
>tfw to intelligent
No, just haven't found anything to make me smile or laugh yet dude. Millions of games exist. I'm sure there is something out there.
DMC3 is pretty hilarious
Saints Row 2 has a lot of good dialogue and good comedy withoit going into the newgrounds-tier comedy of 3/4
the nuhitman games consistently crack me up even after hundreds of hours. the whole tone and sense of humour is perfect. the npc dialogue, the slapstick sound effects and animations. it literally never gets old throwing a wrench into a guys face
Gta online 2013-14
Some shit talkers were pretty funny back then. I do miss having fun
>Lamar
I don't know what Rockstar was thinking. He should have been the main character.
Wasn't Franklin supposed to die in the Deathwish ending, with Lamar replacing him as a playable character after that?
I've only heard people say that. I've never seen any info from the Rockstar. I don't know where it came from.

Frick I love this game
Giants: Citizen Kabuto.
An ancient but fun game.
Can't think of any tbh
Is this Scary Movie 1?
Yep.
Why the hell is there a bicyle parked halfway up the stairs? Who does this?
thats the joke anon
>what are spoof movies
holy zoom zoom batman
You have to be 18 or older to post here
escalating absurdly for comedic effect
God, I hope that granny is okay
Perfectly fine. She went to star in Dementia right after.
>superior 90's jokes at their peak
Whoever played Ghostface in that was great at physical comedy
I miss the Scary movie series so damn much. 3 was the last good one
Two Point Hospital has pretty good sense of humour, I often chuckle at the announcements they make, there's also some slapstick to the illnesses and procedures and the staff have some humorous perks to them
If you've played Theme Hospital, the game is very reminiscent of that
I assume Two Point Campus has equally good comedy to it.
EDF
Giants: Citizen Kabuto and The Bard's Tale. But I haven't played them since I lost my sense of humor.
>But I haven't played them since I lost my sense of humor.
It's a bad luck to be you.
Some of the point and click adventure games were pretty funny. Like Larry (not the modern one, it had two jokes, "remeber the popular thing?" and "orange man bad"), Monkey Island, Discworld games. Even Harvester had some great moments.
>it was death by natural causes
>natural causes?
>you can't live without spinal cord son, nothing unnatural about that
Humor is subjective OP and when you go into something expecting it to be funny you're going to find it way less funny because of timing and expectations.
But sure have some funny games
>Class of 09
>Yakuza (Series)
>Monster Prom/Camp/RoadTrip
>VR Chat
>Pit People
>South Park Fractured But whole
>Bully
>Fear and Hunger series
>Postal Brain (Series)
>60 Seconds!
>Kindergarten
Is class of 09 as funny as Arthur the missing Christmas episode or is it sayain man saga funny
WAZAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAP
>crash twinsanity
also someone knows if Cyanide & Happiness – Freakpocalypse is funny? or at least isn't an insufferable point and click with no logic behind it's puzzles
Mother 3 is probably the funniest game i have ever played
I think you have to play it to really get most of the best jokes because they take time to set up and pay off
>I think you have to play it
>Mother
Too difficult.
I really should play mother 3 again.
I think everyone on this board should. Might put everyone in a better mood.
>the franklin badge deflects the lightning back!
I thought Saints Row 2 was funny back when I played it. I don't know how well it holds up now that I'm older.
Halo 2 was always pretty funny to me. I loved the shit talking between the humans and covenant, plus Johnson had some pretty funny lines. Helps that the game is pretty buggy so it can make for some unintentionally hilarious moments
>WE HAD A STICK
>TWO STICKS AND A ROCK
>AND WE HAD TO SHARE THE ROCK
>I need a nurse! No, no, a female nurse!
Kingdom of Loathing
West of Loathing
Shadow of Loathing
Golf Story
Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion
A Short Hike
Space Funeral
Yes.
Oblivion is so ugly, broken and buggy it loops back into pure comedy
MDickie games are always pretty funny. Every single character you interact with is a complete fricking moron at all times
The use of humour in zachtronics games is usually pretty good and completely supplemental to the actual puzzles which are excellent. The emails in shenzhen in particular I thought were a nice touch.
Gears of War with the Mexican dub, the banter is top tier.
Resonance of Fate
We only have raisins.
The old Sierra and Lucasfilm Games/Lucas Arts adventures were quite funny, in modern day I would say Psychonauts 1 and 2.
Curse of monkey island is hilarious and very meta
Divinity: Ego Draconis. I wish Larian stuck to making comedy games because they can't tell a serious story if their life depended on it, and BG3 only served to confirm that.
Scary Movie Rankings

else
Dungeons of Dredmor.
was it really funny? More like autistic.
I can still hear the "heroic vandalism!" call out.
Psychonauts
When it came out, Huniepop was fricking hilarious, and even though the humor has aged like milk, I still find myself laughing now and again when I replay it.
>"Frick these birds, am I right?"
Postal: Braindamaged
armed and dangerous
Say whatever you want about Saints Row 3, but the dialogue in the intro was actually legit funny.
>ultra post modernism, I LOVE IT
MDickie's games are pretty funny but unintentionally
>nobody said Neighbours from Hell
ZOOMER FRICK OFF REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
it's funny for the first day of the week until you realize you're playing postal
Anachronox is probably the funniest game I’ve ever played. Not low brow humour like Saints Row 3 either and has a lot of heart at the same time.
Deathbulge: Battle of the Bands
>Sam and Max
>South Park: Stick of Truth and Fractured, But Whole
>Disco Elysium
>Early Ratchet and Clank
>Hatoful Boyfriend
Are you serious?
As a matter of fact, I am
sam?
Our math teacher's name was Samed or something
One day, we saw his windows login on the screen, and it was literally "Serious Sam"
we gave him so much shit for it, running after him and screaming AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH or asking how many kleers he killed this week
the doorman should wear a suit
postal 2?
Playing VtMB as a nossie or doing a moron run in Arcanum or Fallout 2 was very funny.
vampire the masquerade is broken on pc. you need a patch to complete the game
Thank you for this valuable information.
don't waste your time until you unofficially patch it
>at least on steam
gog might be different
You seem like a genuinely helpful person. I have a physical copy and a backup of the patches, but it's always good to mention, that this game is a very unpolished gem. Thanks.
>and total death to gnomes
Can't you ruin Tarant to mess them up in one of the endings? They certainly deserve it.
yeah bloodlines was glitched as frick. there are a lot of instances where the game will just crash
don't ruin tarant. you can learn your best spells there
That's exactly what a gnome would say. Are you a gnome anon? Anyway I can learn spells and then ruin it.
I'll harm you
What are you gonna do? Make me disappe
I don't need the XP
shit he's dead...
tarant is a college town
>gog might be different
iirc gog adds the wesps patch by default but you can deselect it if you want to on install.
Armed and Dangerous.
If you don't play the game, at least watch the cutscenes on YouTube.
Call me reddit but I found High on Life funny

I told you to call me reddit, not a homosexual!

are you playing Arcanum? rush to get the dog, and total death to gnomes

Where's the love?
the love is in good games
Hmm I think the "funniest" game I've played is probably Jazzpunk. But not really haha funny yknow?
and of course old gta radio stations like kchat
Super Seducer
I don't think they ever made me actually laugh, but Red Alert 3's commanders were just thoroughly enjoyable every time they appeared. It's great how they really leaned into this Advance Wars-style mood where they shake their fist at you and go "How DARE you destroy my base! I'll get you for this later."
WAAAZZZAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAP
I had a couple of good laughs in book of unwritten tales.
Disco Elysium
God Hand has some pretty funny cutscenes
serious sam-tier shit

I remember even Saints Row 4 having some funny moments but I haven't played that game since it released so I won't vouch for it.
I feel like it barely qualifies as a video game but Don't Shit Your Pants tickles my inner moronic child.
Accounting+
This is the moment when "black people talk" became the default speech pattern in America.
Jazzpunk
Even if a lot of the humor in Pizza Tower was just goofy exaggerated animations/art style, I still loved a lot of it.
>Do we have some walkie-talkies?
>no, we have these
god those first 2 scary movies were great
Surprised no one mentioned team fortress 2. Frequently I can't be pissed off when I die because the shenanigans going on around me is too funny, plus the voice lines.
Yakuza substories make me laugh even if Ganker goes >japanese humor
Still, the funniest shit a game has ever done is the Reviser Seed gag in PMD
>knock knock knock
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWW
Prolly Yakuza 0.
HEY Y’ALL, PARTY AT CINDY’S HOUSE. DRUNK WHITE WOMEN FOR EVERYBODY!
Sigma made me laugh several times throughout VLR, same with Haruaki in Raging Loop and Date in AI. Dark mystery series with goofy protags are peak.
