Nok Nok in PF:KM is about it these days. TMK, a companion that you pick up over a quarter of the way in but at least he has a full dialog and story.
You can make some pretty impressive goblinette sloots as pawns in DD due to height, green skin, makeup and voice pitch sliders. I hope this ability continues in DD2.
I digitally pimped one that made people forget all about steamy jungle cat from the WoW blimps and she kicked ass as a ranger loaded with knockback gear and rusty daggers.

Bhara- I mean gobs help to separate the 'good' girls from the 'bad girls just as western horror movie icons, like Jason or Michael Meyers. The hero saves only the purest while the prostitute get gobbed. It's a classic Aesop in that way.

It would be great it was properly realised, I don’t think goblins work best when they’re just another member of a fantasy society, although I don’t mind seeing it, just think it’s a bit lazy.
Imo in pure fantasy goblins work best as a “pest society” race. Smart enough to form their own culture but alien/animalistic enough to not integrate with normal fantasy society outside of rare cases. Kind of like a group of green penguins.
A goblin RPG where you play as one needs to be about the low stakes survival of your hovel tribe and your high stakes thriving within that tribe. Quests need to surround the brutal/silly shenanigans of internal goblin politics which is juxtaposed with the low level ransacking of various neighbouring towns, ambushing travellers and the like.
Ultimately the designer has to make the goblin tribe feel distant, but still annoyingly impactful on the locals. Things like stealing their food stores during a famine, or damaging a resovoir to ensure water for your own tribe. By the end of the game the player needs to be the leader of the tribe for better or worse, with access to all the prime gobbo babes. Probably needs a lot of eating and other “comfy” mechanics to make those systems rewarding.
Before anyone wonders why the word dump, I’m stuck in a massively long work meeting.
I could see a “big” quest being stealing the count’s finest horses or you and your party to gorging yourself on his food right before a massive banquet.
I genuinely don't remember anything besides WoW and Silverfall.

You play as a biggest Chad Goblin in your local Goblin tribe you're 5'2" (towering by goblin standards) and imposingly built and you're surrounded by the hottest goblin girls who all lust after you constantly. You're like the captain of the warg ball team and all the goblin girls cheer every time you club a skull into the basket. Then one day the spiders from the dark forest on the far eastern border of your tribe attack your village and you seizing this moment rally your goblin brothers to fight them off. Victorious and with the spiders in rout the Goblin chief (your grandfather) tasks you with ending the spider scourge once and for all you rally your goblins brothers. All the village's gobbros lead by you venture forth into the dark forest to kill the spider matriarch. but you fail miserably, it's a total blunder, they're in the trees, its a trap, they're everywhere, flanked on all sides your gobbos brothers are picked off one by one until only you remain, you try to flee but end up deep into their lair you are captured and placed in their webs for food, the spiders feed upon you draining your life essence. You would surely die if it wasn't for the human adventurers who happened to be on their way back from a different quest that serendipitous took them through this forest, they kill the spider queen with little effort and free you from your silk cocoon and burn all the spider egg clutches. You're too weak to explain anything to them but they're able to track back and deliver you to your village explaining what happened to your home now nearly devoid of any male goblins, they then go about seducing all the goblin women in your tribe who all become bawds for human wiener, you weakened unable to stop them and helpless watch your town get repopulated with half-human goblins. [spoiler]Frick goblins.[/spoiler]
I like the concept of orc of Beogh from DCSS, it can work just as well for goblins. Summoning or converting other orcs/goblins into your warband, ordering them around and giving good equipment to those who managed to stay alive to reach elite status.

It's technically doable in Elminage I guess, but it's pretty convoluted

Congrats, you now have your fully playable Goblin MC, unfortunately it will be locked to Fighter by default and be a Devilish character, so you also need to age him with alchemist shenanigans, but it can be a more or less passable character.
Reclassing isn't particularly bad either compared to other spirit pact options since it's not like Goblins come with meaningful bonuses that will be lost on reclassing, but still, it's not particularly worth it outside of the Devilish race factor.

I don't know about self-inserting, but playing as a goblin or a spider would definitely be a novel experience to me. Any game without a human male is going to filter out you aphantasiac schizos out anyway.

Styx Master of Shadows. It's a 3rd person stealth game where you plays as a goblin infiltrating a massive fortified complex built around a crystal manned by humans. By slurping the syrup of the crystal, you gain some powers like being able to create shadow clones. The story was neat.
