Are there any video games where the MC is normal but by the end, he's a full blown psycho? Think shit like The Lighthouse or The Shining.

Soul Nomad and World Eaters demon path
Jack Nicholson was never normal in The Shining, not even in the beginning
His deer in the headlights wife and nutcase kid drove him round the bend
Jack Nicholson was bad casting for the character tbh. The book makes him a lot more 'normal' but Nicholson will always give off a crazy vibe.
>Jack Nicholson was bad casting for the character
this, it's literally the first chapter in the book where it's told how Jack snapped his own kid's arm for rummaging through his manuscript and maimed some other kid at the school he was teaching at for slicing his car tires
tbf I'd have done the same thing to the kid who slashes his tyres. But yeah, other than that Jack was definitely unhinged
i would understand beating the kid up, but making him permanently disabled? New tires cost way less than getting raped in court and then paying for that child's care for the rest of your life, Jack got off easy
I haven't read the book in a few years. Was the kid that fricked up? I just remember he beat him a little outside in front of people.
>"Something like that, honey. Your daddy hit George to make him stop cutting the tires and George hit his head. Then the men who are in charge of the school said that George couldn't go there anymore and your daddy couldn't teach there anymore."
Maybe he actually was left disabled purely by accident, but considering the story is told to a small child by his mother, it is entirely possible that she is downplaying it a lot. Especially considering the episode with Danny (the son) himself
yeah true, hard to say for certain. But he had a temper and could be violent for sure, so it wouldn't be surprising.
The movie changed it so he beat his kid while drunk once which convinced him to stop drinking. A backstory like that works a lot better for a character that's supposed to just be a regular guy that could easily be pushed over the edge.
>"Finally, I have become... the Shining"
360ed and walked out of the cinema theatre after that
HE NEVER SAID THAT QUOTE IN THE FRICKING MOVIE YOU FRICKING moron IDIOT
Depending on your interpretation Spec Ops: The Line would fit the bill
No it definitely fits the bill.
>Starts out as a proper call of battleduty spec ops man
>Each time Walker gets an outfit change his attitude changes slightly alongside a few different details
>Becomes a deranged lunatic swearing out orders
>Starts kneecapping victims in melee execution animations
maybe infamous sort of if you go the evil route
The Suffering, sort of
Don't ever mention The Lighthouse in the same sentence as the The Shining ever again you FA24ggot.
the lighthouse is better than the shining
Warcraft 3 is the one I remember the most. I know a lot of books where that happens but I can't think of many games.
The Sekimeiya makes you become a psycho if you attempt to fully understand the sequence of events

>Game
far cry 3. Jason turns from a bratty zoomer to a literal genocidal schizo.
KotOR, seriously.
Dead Space
I love these subtle Ganker threads on Ganker lately, based
Jannies are mad because they can't do anything about it either. Ha ha ha.
Prototype
Spec Ops The Line
Already a great movie, but it making King seethe for decades was the cherry on top.
