Hard to say without knowing what kind of games you play, what kind of games you already played and what you found so great about this one in particular.
Gonna do some shots in the dark here then:
- Furi like many Anons said is really good gets a recommend from me too
- Katana Zero has similar vibes
- Shinobi Non Grata is pretty good 2 hour boss rush platformer
- Death's Door has similar gameplay to HLD but with birds
- for something completely different where you are a prey rather than hunter check out Rain World
Thanks. I have mostly been a souls junkie for a while. Actually beat bg3 and liked it but crpgs are so long. Have Wasteland 3 in the queue. I generally can’t get through open world games. Have played a lot of Counter-Strike. Loved WC3 back in the day. Out of indies I have liked Hades, Dead Cells, Deaths Door. Couldn’t get into Blasphemous 1 or 2. Have Intravenous and Noita on deck.
Trying to get some indie breadth for inspiration for making a simple game as a personal project so trying to play stuff 1-2 could conceivably make.
Hyper Light Drifter is fricking great and I will never stop seething about Hyper Light Breaker being a complete departure from everything good about the first game
i was under the impression this one was a dissapointment when it came out. I tried it but it didn't really catch my attention. What did you enjoy about it?
Vibed with art style a lot. Loved the color choices. Combat was very tight and skill based. Liked how it handles death punishment. I appreciate subtle story telling and to me it felt very deep about someones battle with cancer. Music is my favorite genre also that I work too. Bosses were fun. I got feels when I beat I haven’t got from a game in a while. Beat it in one sitting.
>Underrail >Divinity: OS 1 >Witcher 1 >Touhou >ZeroRanger >Void Stranger >Baba is You >Zachtronics (the entire library) >Outer Wilds >Return of the Obra Dinn >Papers, Please >Katana Zero >Hotline Miami >Furi >Lobotomy Corporation >Black Souls 2 >Hollow Knight >Aeterna Noctis >Super Meat Boy >Devil Daggers >Hyper Demon >FAITH >Darkwood >Terraria >Minecraft >FTL >Into The Breach
My favourite indie games, in no particular order. Probably going to try Infra next.
The way I understand it indie only refers to how the game was developed prior to its official release. If v1.0, released in 2011, is considered an indie then Minecraft will always be known as an indie game. An indie game that grew to astronomic proportions maybe but an indie nevertheless.
I just haven't gotten around to playing it yet. It's hardly the most egregious example of me procrastinating either: >haven't played S.T.A.L.K.E.R yet, despite it looking like something that'd easily enter my top 10 vidya >love stealth & imsims, haven't played Thief and nu-Hitman >Crime & Punishment is my favourite book, still haven't touched Brothers Karamazov
Sometimes it's just difficult to find the motivation to do something, despite knowing on the intellectual level that you'd probably enjoy it.

Literally me. You should play Rain World before or after Infra.
>Create a high skill dash system with a relatively small frame window to chain multiple dashes in a row >It's very fun to get down, but hard to perform in combat because the timing is easy to frick up.
This is where it should stop, but >The game heavily punishes you for chain dashes via skidding, meaning you can't really use more than 2 extra dashes in normal combat without leaving yourself vulnerable. >The world has very few places to properly chain dash without falling out of bounds or skidding to your death (except for the occasional dash challenge)
The east section is the most egregious for this. so many dull places where you dash, pause, and then dash again because a chain dash would just kill you.
I can't help but feel they partially wasted one of the best dash mechanics put into a video game, even if I love the game otherwise.
>I don’t even really like indies
How this mental illness is born?
Indie is not a genre, nor it is a quality sign.
I play indie games almost exclusively for 3 years now.
Who wants to stay in AAA prison?
overrated. cave story, touhou, kero blaster, citadel are better
check out furi

If you like CRPGs, check out Underrail. Fantastic combat system.

I never knew they are actually making a sequel, checked steam page right now, wow what a colossal disappointment
Tunic
A real tragedy. I was so hyped when I saw the reveal trailer, what a fricking waste.

Kys guaranteed your a zoomer b***h - Elder Millenial Chad. Also I can bench way fricking more than you.
>Also I can bench way fricking more than you.
who cares
Definitely a zoomer
The visual artist and Disasterpiece carried it so fricking hard. The lead designer certainly has an eye for talent if nothing else.

Let's face it, Minecraft is not a indie game anymore
It isn't, but then again I didn't really play it much after the Microsoft buyout. Most of my memories of it are from the early versions.

replace baba is you and void stranger with stephen's sausage roll
With a list like that you must have heard about Rain World. Have you not played it or did you just not enjoy it?

Hotline miami 2 for a BANGER soundtrack
