Electric cars were being pushed as far back as Obama. They're not 'suddenly' being pushed, they first started giving tax refunds for them in 2012. You are way late on this. And no, they won't replace Australia. The largest deposit of Lithium in the world is there

they are pushing it much harder today, they got their puppet in the white house and even got the government on board to put restrictions on petrol engines
it really started ramping up globally during the covid restrictions
california wanted to ban old truck engines which would remove 80000 trucks from the road
a lot of countries discussed 15 minute cities, london has put a new tax on older cars just recently
it's gonna fail though, again. there is zero infrastructure to support everyone driving an EV, especially with electricity bills going through the roof

What think tank do you work for homosexual? "Conservatives" aren't mad about their lives being made easier by the government, they're not interested in a technocratic society that wouldn't allow you to travel amongst other things. It's truly interesting how shitlibs like yourself lack the ability to think in terms of things that aren't soundbites or the half baked utopian theater that runs in your childish heads.

i live 10-15 minutes drive away from my job. if the traffic is empty and i can go the speed limit the entire way, do you know what that increases to walking or on a bike? 2+ frickin hours, i work 12 hour shifts and that is 4 hours of my day wasted going to and from work
i have to sleep as well

How fricking fat are you? That's a 40 minute bike ride max.
Anyway not everyone will be riding bikes some will still use cars. It absolutely infuriates the American when told those hippy euro countries still have cars. Like yeah you can drive a car and the best part? Because so many people ride bikes the streets are emptier for your car journey.

im english and i live in a village 15 minutes drive from the nearby town, the road is not a straight line, theres no way its 40 minutes
and im not some office wagie either, im on my feet all the time, im not riding a bike in the frickin rain and freezing weather.
why do libtards want to go backwards to the stone age
the personal car was the single greatest invention ever made and provides incredible independence from the state. why do you want the state to come in and tell you where you cant go
they tested this dumb shit in an english town and actually blocked roads with huge stone blocks, someone even died because an ambulance couldnt get to them in time because of the blocks

It's nice but not very feasible in America due to blacks
You're only not dependent on oil from OPEC if your entire grid is green or nuclear, but now you're reliant on lithium imports from other producers (The mining of which is highly toxic to the environment and usually purchased from Asia where environmental concerns are not an issue). Electric vehicles are currently still in the stage that they cause just as many problems as they solve in the supply chain, and that's not even getting down to them being more expensive and shorter lasting than ICE vehicles. This doesn't even get in to things like less range and a longer refueling process compared to ICE.
Eventually electric vehicles may supplant internal combustion engines, but it will first take cheaper, longer lasting batteries at the bare minimum to reach that point. That will be the turning point where the long term price of a vehicle drops enough to make it a net benefit to the consumer instead of something forced upon them in the hope it will improve faster when it becomes a standard.
Jesus what a stupid self-important post, the first step to reducing dependency on OPEC is reducing dependency. EVs offer a good way to do that, and absolutely do not cause more problems than they solve. Lithium providers are long-time allies, Oil providers other than Canada are absolutely not allies
Global commodity markets don't work that way dumbass. US producers sell overseas because they can get a better price tham domestic sale

>An electric vehicle is more expensive to the consumer than one that runs on fossil fuels >Maintenance due to batteries is more frequent so the cost of ownership is higher >On top of that, the vehicles don't even last as long as ICE vehicles due to the most expensive part, the batteries, needing to be fully replaced in less than a decade >The range is less and recharging the batteries takes longer than putting more fuel in the tank >No significant savings from charging vehicles with electricity over fueling ICE with gas, likely will get worse as the demand on the electrical grid increases with common electric vehicle use
Explain to me, the end user of an electrical vehicle, how it's supposed to immediately benefit me right now instead of being a burden I'm to bear in the hopes it improves later on. Until you can answer that basic question, forcing electric vehicles on the population at large is going to be a net drain on everyone's resources and hit the poor and working class the hardest.
Go improve the above aspects before trying to bring them about, people will naturally switch when electric vehicles are a better alternative than ICE.

Your whole argument is based on the premise that an EV is more expensive to run than ICE which is incredibly ignorant and wrong, go look up average running costs of an EV vs ICE and see where you went wrong

>Claims EV is cheaper to run than ICE due to daily fuel costs >Conveniently ignores the long term cost of owning an EV vs ICE
If you spent half the amount of effort improving electrical storage technology as you did shilling on unrelated web forums, electrical vehicles would probably have surpassed ICE by now.

he forgot to say that the battery can spontaneously combust into flames, in commiefornia or florida this year, the fire service even sent out warnings because it can be caused by salt water after storms
and i also saw today in bongland that insurance companies are considering refusing to insure them due to battery replacements and fixing costs after crashes
we havent even seen the lifespans of the cars which is possibly the biggest deal. ive heard these batteries could die after like 8 years of usage or some shit and then the car is basically totalled which would be insane
gays who drive teslas are so fricking moronic and suck at driving
you have a misunderstanding of battery mechanics.
You can only pack so much energy into a smaller object until it becomes a bomb. Driving that bomb around at 100mph is not going to be a thing
Except batteries' issues are physical. They are affected by temperature, pressure, humidity and decay with each cycle due to their own nature. Unless you think car companies can somehow create new rules of physics, these things will forever be an issue.
I got every other achievement but hadn't died 1000 times. I wrote a macro to unlock picrel (it just keeps restarting the level), but I realized what a moronic use of time it was and just never bothered to run it.
