Really the biggest problem of the combat system is switching everything on the fly when the mongols are breathing down on your neck. Otherwise it's easily one of the best combat systems I've seen.
Man, Tenchu and Onimusha are really dead as IP's. What little mindshare they had is pretty much dried up, even future re-releases are looking unlikely.

Sekiro is basically a Tenchu game. Given that From published some Tenchu games and the number of Tenchu's mechanics that accidentally made it into the Souls series, it's hard to believe they weren't starting off from "What if Tenchu but Dark Souls?"
If MGR doing well couldn't revive Shinobi, nothing will. Which is a pity, since its tate and cursed sword mechanics were great.

I loved it. Cutting through swathes of bandits and Mongols dressed like a Samurai god was outstanding.
