thats why it needs a remaster, very small tweeks could make a huge difrence for 6/10 game like this. Making the chaotix missions less shit and adding some qol features to it, fixing the weird physics and straight broken pinball controls, mabie touching up or just replacing the digusting playdoh models, would make it way more fun to go back to as it is a game riddled with little annoyances that add up to making it more annoying than fun.

God playing Heroes was such a letdown after playing Adventure 2. Even my stupid and easily pleased child brain knew that I'd been scammed.
Heroes is honestly just an incredible experience. That feeling of unrivaled joy when you complete the game is seriously like very few other games I've played, it's like finally walking away a free man after serving years in a hellish, torturous prison. Burning the disc of Sonic Heroes and pissing on the remains is some of the most fun I've ever had with a game, and I strongly recommend it to even non Sonic fans. In eyes, Heroes is definitely be best of the best.
