Zelda is already confirmed to be Live Action, most likely Nintendo will use various studios and styles of animation for every IP movie. Not like that stops a crossover from happening by just making it its own separate canon, but I think it's not likely to happen.
With Zelda, they could make a CG movie still, try and have each new Zelda movie in a different art style and different actor playing Link kek. It'd be creative and amazing, but doubtful
I think the format still has merit but they gotta be subtle about it, there's nothing inherently interesting about a cinematic universe that will make people excited. It's something that gradually builds over time.
I don't even like capeshit but I think it might have more to do with them making dogshit movies about characters no one cares about now. Normgroids still lose it over Spiderslop.
Nintendo isn't moronic like Marvel, who don't give a shit how their works are handled. Nintendo treats their IPs like it's own children. They are really strict with how they're handled.
Unironically, yes please. Fricking kill this industry and drive it back underground. I've got enough in my backlog to survive the dark ages until we reach suitable levels of gaming quality.
I'll be fricking surprised if Illumination could even make a Metroid, Star Fox, Fire Emblem or Xenoblade movie (those last two would probably be better as anime series anyway)
It will get turned down. Everyone knows that it wont work. Just look at DB Super tournament of power. Every character could not even get time on screen before getting killed. same will happen with a Smash Smash movie.
Can't wait for Smashgays to have a temper tantrum live in theaters whenever a scrimblo bimblo (especially their favorite to circlejerk, Banjoke) gets sidelined for one of the Fire Emblem characters.
So, regardless of this, if Nintendo continues with vidya adaptations, what Fire Emblem game would they pick to adapt?
Shadow Dragon? The first one, stars the mascot (even if nobody gives that much of a shit about him), has built-in sequels/prequels.
Awakening? Basically where the majority of the fanbase started.
Three Houses? The most popular entry (admittedly, they'd have to pick a route, which wouldn't be fun)
Feels like FE has too large a cast to do a movie, it would have to be some sort of anime. Because I doubt they're going full LotR for fricking Fire Emblem.
>Mario
doesn't have a canon, however you can make up a cohesive timeline, but Mario games are never really plot driven anyways aside from the RPGs >DKC
has more cohesive continuity but no official canon >Wario
lol >Zelda
has a canon even though the BoTW trilogy made things messy >Metroid
actually has a canon from Prime being non-canon but its own thing >Kirby
doesn't have a canon, but you can make cohesive timeline >Pikmin
has a canon since all the story is tied to each game(not counting the spinoffs) >Starfox
Zero made things messy >F-Zero
theres a lot of worldbuilding in it but never quite a story like that >Earthbound
has one since is a trilogy with the stories tied to each other
yeah I always thought it was moronic how a street level hero like Batman tags along with Superman why is like atleast a whole guardian of earth than can effortlessly swat away extinction meteors
Both Batman and Superman are characters that can easily exist in their own separate universes with no issues. They have enough stories and characters to do just that.
It also ruins stories like No Man’s Land where Gotham gets devastated by an earthquake and instead of fixing it, the US government disowns the whole city. Criminals take over and the whole shit becomes Mad Max. Can’t do that when Superman and the rest of the JLA exist.
Knocked it out of the park for CYL1 and then they proceeded to not try (and at other times be spiteful to the results) till CYL7 where they had a winning selection they approved of.
Make a standalone movie. Make them trophies or literal videogame characters. The plot is a tournament (free4all, doubles or singles), then look at every autist at the theater screeching they're using items or how the grand finals are low tier/lame characters. After the last match Master and Crazy Hand steps in and everyone have to join forces to defeat them.

>zelda becomes an IDRIS ELBA WOULD BE A GREAT LINK franchise
Ganondorf should unironically be played by Idris Elba, both in the live action one that's already in the works, and in the animated one.
I can't wait for the cinematic universe meme to finally die
cast her
Debra Wilson, the queen of Ganker
They wouldn't bother with "problematic" IPs like that. They'd just stick with the western audience friendly IPs.
She was the 2nd post popular character in Ultimate in Japan. Nips will force Illumination to add her.
Japs won't do shit lmao they are extremely cucked right now
Doesn't matter. She's only popular due to her fanservice design. Doesn't take a genius to figure that out.
They would just tone down her chest like with Rouge.
Just make an anime with each season being 1 game
A garbage can rigged up to a dolly
Nintendo Avengers huh
Brave to suggest such a thing after that trend has completely collapsed in on itself
I think the format still has merit but they gotta be subtle about it, there's nothing inherently interesting about a cinematic universe that will make people excited. It's something that gradually builds over time.
Cape shit is over but videogame shit is still new.
I don't even like capeshit but I think it might have more to do with them making dogshit movies about characters no one cares about now. Normgroids still lose it over Spiderslop.
the mario movie was dogshit and the zelda movie is going to be even worse
That would be pretty cool honestly
Extremely predictable, but still would be kind of cool
Only if they add a falcon punch scene
Oh boy they ran comic books movies into the earth and allowed tons of homosexual ass activist liberal antifa douches to destroy comics
.... can't wait for the video game version of that
Nintendo isn't moronic like Marvel, who don't give a shit how their works are handled. Nintendo treats their IPs like it's own children. They are really strict with how they're handled.
Lol they gave in with having girl boss peach and mario voiced by pratt
We got the Mario Bros movie. They don't give a single shit if you wave enough money in their faces.
Unironically, yes please. Fricking kill this industry and drive it back underground. I've got enough in my backlog to survive the dark ages until we reach suitable levels of gaming quality.
pls be fake
yeah I like the idea of an SSE being an official movie
what does this mean for the Assist Trophies? know their roles can be just as good

I doubt third party stuff would be in a Smash movie (if it even ever happened).
it would be illumination writing the script no Sakurai

Go for Ike, everyone loves him despite nobody having played his game.

there has been FE animated movies actually
I know there's an OVA (or was it two?). But it covers only a small part of the first game.
yeah thats what I mean
Yeah, it's not like Fire Emblem can't be animated.
It's just that it's format works better in like a seasonal format than a single movie.
Pretty sure the first SSB movie, if it ever gets made, would be based on the first Smash Bros with a limited cast
Please don't, just make things fully standalone, maybe the occasional fun cameo but they shouldn't be considered canon
canon doesn't exist in most Nintendo series, they just have their own little stories
like
>Mario
doesn't have a canon, however you can make up a cohesive timeline, but Mario games are never really plot driven anyways aside from the RPGs

has more cohesive continuity but no official canon

Prime is canon.
is a different canon I mean
It's the same canon, just a side story.
really?
Yes. Sakamoto said he didn't really consider any of it while making Other M because it's a self-contained side story. That doesn't make it non-canon.
I hate shared universes
I hate cinematic shared universes
"shared universe" was the worst thing to happen to comic books (Batman should've never met Superman, they don't fit. Superman RUINS Batman's world)
yeah I always thought it was moronic how a street level hero like Batman tags along with Superman why is like atleast a whole guardian of earth than can effortlessly swat away extinction meteors

live action movie when?
Knocked it out of the park for CYL1 and then they proceeded to not try (and at other times be spiteful to the results) till CYL7 where they had a winning selection they approved of.
Frick you I$
brb making a tier list for his subject
No.
https://twitter.com/IHE_OFFICIAL/status/930736062279966720
The only way I can even see this remotely working and all of us won't end up dead when this is finished is they use the Original Smash roster.
all of them would be shit because most of the stories are shit
earthbound is little kids vs the world
FE would be like game of thrones
metroid is supposed to be like alien
just put them all together from the start. maybe put kirby, starfox, f-zero together
first impression if your were to make a movie with the ultimate cast
a lot of bosses and ATs can fill some roles too
