At least the age of smart delivery is coming to an end. If you had a Series X and wanted to buy a physical copy of a cross-gen game, then only the Xbox One version was actually on disc and you had to download the Series X version.
You can't blame third party developers for making PS4 games when there are more than 100m of those in the wild. You can however blame Sony for still releasing PS4 first party games instead of actually pushing the market to move forwards and adopt their latest product.
But can you please explain to me why the Series S is "holding back gaming" while the PS4 isn't?
No, because I never made that claim, you did.
>The cost of making AAA, cinematic, fully mocap voiced, graphicwore pandering games for current console hardware is essentially, "wild success" or "We're shutting down."
ftfy
Yes, and pushing more and more hardware isn't the solution to that, Anon. All you do is encourage more of it. If developers made Bloodborne looking games, but at 1440p 60fps, dev costs would be down, and games would still look/feel great.

Depends. Where the frick is the new Switch?
2027
>just finally entered gen 9 on all consoles
>already wants a gen 10 nintendo console
2026
Dragons Dogma 2 is PS5/Xbox Series/PC only. It's safe to say last gen is done.
At least the age of smart delivery is coming to an end. If you had a Series X and wanted to buy a physical copy of a cross-gen game, then only the Xbox One version was actually on disc and you had to download the Series X version.
Then you had games like Hogwarts Legacy for XSX/PS5 that only had the prologue section in the disc, about 30gb of the entire 70gb game.
Smart Delivery is going away at a time when games are crossing the UHD Blu Ray storage threshold, so physicalgays are still fricked.
>only the Xbox One version was actually on disc and you had to download the Series X version.
wow that's really gay
It's essentially the same as buying a PS4 game with an upgrade to PS5 version if you insert the disc on the latter.
As long as there's the S series, no
lmao series s is literally a repackaged one x
I bought one for dirt cheap and it's great for what it is. It doesn't need to be the best shit on the market to be a good console
i have my ps4 from 2017 and it plays literally everything i want to play still in 2023
But that's not a good thing, we need to ditch old hardware and move on.
i know but im an evil mischievous man
No one cares and no one likes you anyway.
but you like me anon, you even responded to me
No i don't like you, not even your mom loves you, frick off, go away.
i understand you're in love with me anon, but im simply not gay
I'm not gay, unless your mom is a man.
i dont understand, please explain in layman's terms
I love your mom. That's it.
oh okay well i love her too anon
I think many people loves your mom.
esl kun...
Ye it's a fine side addition to a PC. I use my series S like once a month
>he fell for the series S meme
No shame that you are so easily programmed
Is anyone in this thread that chubby chaser from the roll thread? Post your girlfriend so I can laugh at her
No because plenty of Sony games are still releasing on PS4 and holding us back in 2013.
Is that really important as long as they arent multiplat? Nobody outside out of the PS ecosystem suffers.
... they're still multiplat.
Im talking about the PS exclusives. Why should I care as a non PS gamer if they still hold new gen back for their exclusive games?
This rhetoric has never been valid. Not for MS with the Xbone, and not for Sony fanboys this gen when exclusives almost completely left the picture.
>holding us back
frick you, not gonna get PS5
my dusty little jet engine plays fine, got it cleaned and SSD upgrade
PS4 games still being developed for is the entire reason the industry hasn't destroyed itself in a nuclear arms race, Anon.
Switch and PS4 will still be getting new games. It's just that not many people care about Xbox, especially XBONE.
I hope so, the PS4 has outstayed its welcome and is holding everyone back.
having to support xbone was the only reason "ext" gen games were hitting 60fps.
no more crossgen
xbox 1080 when?
Series S is last gen as well
Microsoft is finally leaving behind that pice of shit of Xbox One.
that console seriously was a waste of R&D and everyone's time
Good thing i completely skipped it and now i have an Xbox series x waiting for real next gen games.
>real next gen games
you'll have to wait for next next gen in 2026 for that lad
Welcome to the next gen which is still 30fps anyway
SNOY cant let the PS4 go, it's the only thing keeping the playstation branch alive.
backwards compatibility has made the notion of console generations obsolete
they are glorified PCs at this point
>snoys complaining about the Series S
>meanwhile shit's still coming out for the fricking PS4 because the PS5 doesn't actually exist
You can't blame third party developers for making PS4 games when there are more than 100m of those in the wild. You can however blame Sony for still releasing PS4 first party games instead of actually pushing the market to move forwards and adopt their latest product.
>It's okay when Sony does it!
Why are they like this?
This isn't console war shit, Anon. The cost of making games for current console hardware is essentially, "wild success" or "We're shutting down."
It's the same for older consoles too.
And it's getting worse.
No, because I never made that claim, you did.

>takes at least 5 years for a big "AAA" game to come out now
>by the time it's released, the hardware is outdated and it'll be a last gen game
current gen games look the same or worse than last gen. what's the point of this? you could release ff16 on ps4 no problem if they bothered
