Not really, the map is much better. Are you mad/jealous because Fusion or Federation Force were your first entries, while other me and others actually played Super Metroid on release?
Anyone know if there's a version (fan remake etc) of Super I can play that makes the controls less clunky? I've beaten it like 3 or 4 times but after Zero, Fusion, Dread, Returns etc, it's hard going back to pressing select like 7000 times in an average playthrough. And I'm having no luck at all convincing the next generation to play it.
Having recently replayed Super, Fusion, Prime, and Dread, I can say it's definitely number two, but Super is just better. I can describe why, only that it "feels" better.
super feels miserable to play though. underwater movement, the floatiest jump known to man, terrible aiming controls, mashing select to equip your weapons
not true you just gotta get used to it i had 0 problems with getting into the game i just tried it to test my snes emulator and ended up playing it for hours also there is noting wrong with the jumping it souds like you got input lag our something
If you want to say the exploration or the atmosphere is better than say that but no one will take you seriously when you say super doesn't feel like shit to actually play.

It's just a nostalgia gay pretending he "suddenly discovered super!"
I like the idea but I would want the bosses to get overhauled a little to accommodate the better movement. Half the fun was overcoming how cracked the fights have gotten.
>caged sa-x
where you under the impression that in fusion the SA-X was just stalking you about the map?
He never actually played fusion so he doesn't know how it works beyond what a YouTube essay would say.
No. But it came out in suspensful moments. Chased you to a location you could get away or hide.
EMMI is stuck in a box. That you know the layout of and the total area they can move around in. You feel no tension with EMMI. They are a mild inconvenient when they marketed it as a sort of horror you have to deal with.
You gays are missing out not playing AM2R, just saying. Don't cuck yourselves out of the best 2D Metroid experience out there. Still an active community making mods.
>no crossover with Judge Dredd
False advertisement.
Super metroid is unbeatable but yes, dread was very fun.
The only reason to like super over dread is nostalgia.
This but unironically.
Good news. I wasn't being ironic.
no the exploration is way better in super, i beat it for the first time 3 years ago so my opinion isn't muddied by nostalgia its just the better game.

You've made up an entire scenario by yourself so I can only assume engaging with you further would be a waste.
Have a good day.
The only reason to like dread over super is contrarianism

too railroaded and linear, AM2R is peak it combines the best aspects of every Metroid
>emi
It's mid

the feel comes from art, both the pixel art and DEFINITELY the music are better in Super. Dread's lack of bangers is a goddamn travesty.
Yup. Can only remember the stinger that goes when you encounter those QTE buttholes

Dread is easily the 2nd weakest 2D Metroid after SR
clarify
It saved the franchise so I have to hate it on principle.
that is outright stupid
I'm wacky
It checks all of the boxes, and is a very good game, while somehow being really bland and unappealing compared to everything else in the series.
It was a bit too linear but holy shit did this game control well. Can anyone post a game with better controls?
>holy shit did this game control well
lol
lmao
peak of what? super, prime 1, prime 2, zero mission and arguably prime 3 are all better
Every 2D metroid is good except Fusion.
I want Super with Dread's controls
You would absolutely rape the bosses in super with dreads controls.
yes and winning is the fun part of games

Gameplay was mostly great. Except for all of the Cinematics that pop off when you parry bosses and EMMI in it's entirety being a shittier caged SA-X.

What mods do you recommend?
Don't you mean beak?
