I think if Gen 7 had cutscene skip they'd be good to great. Couldn't actually get to the good parts of USUM because I tapped out somewhere at the 4 hour mark because of the cutscenes.
Every main trainer in the game suddenly has perfect ivs and evs so it becomes a bit harder. I wiped to guzma's lvl 30 masquerain a few times because it was ohkoing everything on my team, even my magnemite.
Yea the music and characters were kino. It didn't remove the gimmick from the previous gen and even expanded on it. It also had the national dex, and a fantastic endgame. The last real pokemon game.
I meant it as Z-moves were complimentary to megas, they didn't cancel each other out. It expanded the number of options when team building because you had to consider item vs megastone vs z-crystal.
I has tons of fun with this game.
Turning off the exp. share posed a good challenge.
I remember that, even fighting all the trainers, I was underleveled all the time and even lost a few battles
>Complete dex >Previous gen gimmicks allowed >Boatloads of mini-games, side quests, world to explore >Post game battle tower, free for all arena, story >By far the hardest mainline pokemon game ever released, and the widest available distribution of mons to pick from
Easily the best pokemon game in the last 20 years. I thought it was better than B2/W2 but this board is full of zoomers who started with gen 5 so I'm sure they'll contest that.
Alola mons are mostly decent looking, and I like the setting and all the schizo lore in these games. I think Z-moves were a bit of a lame mechanic, though.
When your only complaint about Gen 7 is "hurr cutscenes and too much dialogue" but Gen 8 and 9 do that much worse, what do you expect? In retrospect, Gen 7's problems were a drop in the bucket compared to what was to follow.

they're all right, better than XY
They fleshed out Alola much better than S/M did but the story kinda felt flat in US/UM which is my only thing I dont like about it.
I haven't played them, how different are they from SM?
Slightly changes to the scenery, changes to the main plot, add 101 more Pokemon to the Alola Dex, new Z-moves and etc.

>actually good games
>actually had all the fricking Pokemon in a Pokemon game
Yes

what? it didn't.

>Are we seriously going to pretend that these games are actually good??
They ARE good games
So many cutscenes being reused with just altered textboxes legit made me think my game was fake
We let you guys pretend BW and BW2 is good, what's one more to the pile?
Go get some professional help.
Get some pussy
I already got it from your mother.
They're excellent as long as you aren't coming off playing SM a year earlier.

I enjoyed them, the worm hole gimmick was at least new and interesting.
USUM are my favorites in the series
Reminder /vp/ never hated Gen 7
Unironically good pokemon games. I wish we'd get games even with this quality on Switch.
