Are we still doing LIVE A LIVE threads?
I'm about to start the final chapter, but I don't have stuff like the Cola Bottle and the best weapons for ninja dude. Should I go back and get them, are they needed for the optional bosses?

You should be fine. Live-A-Live isn't an immensely hard game.
The Cola Bottle trivializes the game, the ninja should be fine without the special weapons from his chapter
You can do the superbosses even relatively underleveled and undergeared if you're lucky/tactical enough, it's not a huge deal.
Wait, I thought the coke bottle could only be used once.. are you saying you can use it multiple times and get 999 every time? Christ alive
Yep. That's its whole gimmick. It's a rare drop for the game's most annoying superboss, so of course it's gonna be OP.
Of course, I got it first kill.
I'm a brainlet who actually is having trouble in the final boss of the final chapter so im considering going back and getting it so I can just fricking win and see the real ending
What are you having trouble with and what level/characters?
The game definitely gives you the tools you need to win even if you made every wrong decision in the separate chapters.
Final boss is immune, just grind some more.
The SNES version has a much higher encounter rate, that's why.
I actually cola bottle'd the whole fight(s). Or maybe I was beyond overleveled and it flat out bypassed it. Main team average was lvl32-33
>30s
Jesus frick man. How long did that take?
Also, makes me think. How high does the level cap actually go? Because once your main party is level 20 with good equipment you're set to beat the game.
I think the level cap goes up to 99 just like the original, shouldn't be too difficult to get there considering that each level is 100 experience points
I was stuck in Oboro's dungeon for over 5 levels, cola bottling everything to get it over with. Then Akira's. If anything, the whole final chapter probably took... maybe ten hours cumulatively?
I got it first kill as well. It was my second attempt. I thought I was smart and tried to kill the mammoth at level 15 and got pwned, but I went back at level 18 and killed it ezpz
at level 16 theres really not excuse for anyone to not being able to beat the mammoth in a consistent way, specially since you get Pogo's ultimate attack at that level.
>stick pogo in front of the mammoth
>stick Gori behind pogo as a supporter
>spam the shit out of pokebind until it the paralysis sticks. (the hardest part of all)
>have gori spam his literal shit to keep the field poisoned, heal pogo if he is too weak, or pass the turn if both A and B were fulfilled so Pogo can spam more pokebind if necessary.
>as soon as the paralyssis from pokebind gets the mammoth, SPAM THE SHIT OUT OF BING BANG BOOM UNTIL IT DIES! (one BBB at a paralyzed mammoth can wipe out more than half of the mammoths HP)
>repeat steps 3-5 until the mammoth dies and leaves nothing than a deep crater covered in literal gorilla shit.
Does running from fights in the trial of power not count towards the 100 flee counter or something?
I feel like I've been here forever.
It does, don't worry. Just keep at it.
Everything counts. 100 run away just takes longer than you'd think.
I think maybe the best way to do it is to just play through the chapter and just flee from every other encounter. Once you get the 5 runs warning then you can focus on grinding to prepare if need be.
I just got it to trigger but man that felt way longer than the snes version for some reason.
I'm at the entrance to the Archon's Roost right now after finishing all the other dungeons which is around where I got it in the snes version.
But I was just running from battles for the past half hour somehow.
Why does this guy have such a sexy voice
>spoiler
took me by surprise too especially since his VA has no other voice acting credits in any other game
>x more times
>just x more times...
If I didn't know who was saying it, I would've thought it was vaguely erotic.
>Oops, I messed up...
WHAT'S THE FRICKING POINT
YOU DON'T EVEN LOSE YOUR ITEM. HIM MESSING UP LITERALLY ONLY EXISTS TO FRICKING WASTE YOUR TIME
THE ITEMS YOU REFINE AREN'T EVEN CONSISTENT, IT'S ALL RNG AND HAVING TO RELOAD YOUR SAVE FILE OR GRIND FOR MORE ITEMS
AAAAAAAAAAAAA FRICK THIS moron
Of all the things I thought they were going to change in the remake this was it.
So many great quality of life changes but not the one people probably wanted the most.
While I appreciate how faithful they were to the original overall, yeah this was on thing that absolutely did not need to stay the some.
They somehow made King Mammoth not a total chore and navigating the Ninja chapter far better, but this random failure thing just didn't get the memo.
Anon. There's a scene skip button.
Not that guy but the scene skip button is only good for so much.
The failure chance adds nothing and it should have just been removed, I think just about everyone agrees.
>Reading the watanabe's minds in the final chapter
Y'know I always thought they were just frozen in ice because they got stuck in the ice cave or something.
That's a really neat little easter egg.
Do you guys feel sorry for the Watanabes?
If Watt of Nabe had just fricking killed Streibough none of this shit would have never happened.
Yes.
The running joke can be funny sometimes but it usually just feels mean spirited and it made the actually sad reveal in the near future chapter feel weird.
The sci-fi chapter watanabe gag is godlike though
it's so subtle I didn't even notice it until the remake, I thought it was only just the password
Only for the Edo Japan Watanabes, mostly because they just wanted to do good by their people.
If I do another run I'll just say frick it to going pacifist and kill the guy that would have killed the father there.
It's a shame that that's the only instance outside of his dungeon where you can use telepathy.
Would have loved to be able to use it on all the party members before they join you.
Ninja straight up gets a better weapon anyway if you clear his dungeon, so don't bother.
The only thing even remotely worth considering going for are robot weapons from Near Future for Cube, but even that's kind of a stretch because he doesn't really need them.
can't you just have cube use the weapons as an item anyways
I think it gets better damage scaling if you equip it? Don't quote me on that.
Does anybody actually use the extra weapons outside of increasing Cube's stats? They always seemed underpowered to me and Cube's better off spamming Data Recovery to keep everyone alive anyways.
I didn't even know you could use those like that.
The Chick and Goldfish Gun are good.
Remember to give Sundown a good chestplate armor in case anyone aims for the heart.
Someone post oersted getting trolled
>Oersted
>Our stead
>His name literally means "THIS COULD HAVE BEEN YOU."
>Sundown's healing items are no longer whiskey and cigars
This upsets the hell out of me. You even got drunk if you drank that stuff, so I KNOW it wasn't just a fan translation having some fun.
>The last living dinosaur that is demanding human sacrifices to himself
>The amalgamation of all the anger, hate, and sorrow that occurred during Custer's Last Stand
>A frog monster trying to take over Japan's government from within
>Literally Yujiro Hanma
>A false god demanding liquefied human beings and a cult that's all too happy to provide
>A computer AI that decided humanity must perish
>Some... kung fu guy...
One of these villains is not like the others.
>A false god demanding liquefied human beings and a cult that's all too happy to provide
Was Odeo/Inko even an actual god? I thought it was something they'd conjured up themselves with their Instrumentality Project, like it was animated by all the tang souls lashing out.
I believe it's a bit of both
>One of these villains is not like the others.
Yes, the one that's a horse
Kiss of Jealousy fixed.
I love this fanart but the fact the artist didn't color in 2 of Pogo's fingers greatly upsets me whenever I see it
Wow I never even noticed there. Tried to fix it myself.
thank you so fricking much dude
>he doesn't see it
oh no no no
kinda wish there was more of this party, they make a good group
Pick 1
bel or alethea
Taeko.
She's cute and tries her best, it's not her fault she has to deal with a bunch of little shits.
How do I get the Saint Alethea sound effect for my phone
should I play the remake or the original
Yes
This game had no bussiness having that much soul. Oersted getting hugged atvthe end by cave Chad had me tearing up. Everything was done just right.
