    Depends on the genre.
I don't think it matters, but I do think less of you if you try to speak from a position of authority and your footage is shit.
You don't need to be good at a game to have fun, but you need to be competent if you're trying to analyze it.

I mean compared to my friends when ever we used to play co-op shooters I would finish the rounds with 70ish% of the kills and they share the 30%. I don't know why this was, maybe says more about them three than me.
    It doesn't matter however.

I am not great at most
It matters because I can have fun in just about anything without getting into the sweatlord competitions

I was extremely good at tribes and am still very fricking good at Halo CE and 2.
    >do you think that actually matters?
Not really but it feels good being able to shit on people or get GG's from pro's I run into in matchmaking.

      >haven't played a multiplayer game since Titanfall 2
      >played Halo Infinite a few weeks after launch
      >topping the rounds after a two games
Felt so good after all this time. Stopped before I could be brought down to earth

For some reason I glanced over tribes and thought it said bribes. Combining that with the OP I imagined you as some spoiled rich fat kid bribing your poorer friends with toys and candy to let you win games.

not really, probably about normal for adults who have played more than about 5 games before
it doesnt matter at all in singleplayer things beyond saving time by getting through games more quickly
ive never played competitive multiplayer games

I'm OK, I'm just old and don't have any patience anymore. My threshold for dropping games these days is depressingly low.

I'm not particularly good, no. I play single player games, mostly on medium difficulty. Sometimes on hard if the medium setting is too easy.

im good at fps like quake, ut and action games like ninja gaiden, DMC, souls etc
but everything else im absolutely garbage at, i get destroyed in fighting games and i cant for the life of me play tactical shooters like csgo

I'm below average in skill but make up for it by being level headed and not sperging out over failing in vidya. I do think it matters as if you aren't good at games you won't play them. It's the only entertainment medium that exists where there is an inbuilt gatekeepers function through the requirement of at least a tiny bit of skill or a desire to adapt and overcome seemingly at first glance...impossible odds.

Depends on the game really. I don't really give a shit about multi-player games, and I'm a grandpa who squeezed all the joy out of FPS games when counter strike was brand fricking new and we all moved to that from action-quake.
I've never been competitive about games, unless it was just goofing around with someone I actually know and we're talking shit.
Doesn't really matter. If it makes you happy, cool.

there is nothing as satisfying in this medium as getting really good at your favorite games and opening up new ways to enjoy it further.
you can have feelings during cutscenes and argue with other schizo's out there whether or not it was the right feeling to have. go ahead. go argue about your feelings like a woman

Used to be total trash and my friends would make fun of me, after 10+ years of hardcore gaming I am decent but I don't have any of those friends anymore so it's mostly single player for me anyway.

I used to play a lot of CSS back in high school and i ended up building a name for myself over the years in a few community servers i lurked in. My skills did transfer over into CSGO for a little while, but life catching up with me combined with my waning interest in CS meant that i started to get rusty and eventually i dropped it. Nowadays it's just PVE for me, cause i can't be assed to fight against other people anymore outside of when some newbie fricks something up and i instigate shit for my own entertainment

Depends. Am I as good as top players of the game?
    No
Am I better than the most when they and I pick a game from 0? Yes
I learn fast and stagnate, but Im better than my friends aat mostly any game. Im ass at racing games do.
    Is it important?
Do you want to make money? Same answer.

I usually play games on the hardest difficulty. I notice that I can pick up mechanics and understand systems in video games instantly where other people struggle, probably because I played a lot of video games for almost 30 years now. Not great, not terrible.

Yes, and yes and no. My aptitude for games transfers to a lot of real life stuff. People sure do cope a lot though because I'm good at things like sports, math, girls, etc. Currently live in an area where the most common car is a Porsche so all these guys will pretend like they are winning because they can flex a bigger portfolio or passive income, while they act insecure about literally everything else I wreck them at. Life is what you make it. You could have the athleticism of LeBron James and the looks of Brad Pitt and the ingenuity/business savy of a tech billionaire and people will still find a way to cope. My point is: it's just a game isn't really an excuse when you are terrible to mediocre at everything else.

how well do they drive? I'm surrounded by white teslas and I swear to god they are the shittiest drivers I've ever seen.

        >white tesla
Literally the second most common here and yeah they drive like shit. Honestly recently the Porsches and audis have been retired for some reason so I can't comment on their driving. But the biggest menaces used to be audi and prius out here but now it's tesla.

    >If yes, do you think that actually matters?
To whom and why should it? I take satisfaction in that fact but i wouldn't say it matters that much, mostly depends on how invested you are at said game

    I am not.
I hate having to constantly grind in modern games that get constant balance patches. So now I mostly play single player games, or co-op and party games with my friends getting my friend group to play anything that isn’t League of Legends is like pulling teeth

I think being good at videogames is a more valuable thing than having sex. In fact, if I had to choose between fricking two hot b***hes at once, and playing videogames, I would choose... Uh... Actually, wait, let me think about this for a bit longer...

I think i've got pretty damn good game sense when I'm immersed, always know what's going on, the best place to attack when the enemy team are up to antics, hiding and ambush spots, etc.
But ever since i stopped playing competitive multiplayer games often my aim and patience slacked, i'm not afraid to admit i like shotguns and spray n pray weapons because i'd rather not practice precision again
It doesn't matter, though, i like co-op games more anyways

I think so, but I always liked to play differently to how people would normally. I used to be the guy shooting down uAVs and killstreaks in CoD years ago.

  35. 11 months ago

Yes it matters because I'm smart enough to enjoy gameplay to its fullest level and have the ability to understand the designers intentions at a much deeper level than the average shitter. I love learning deep mechanics as well as refining my skills, not to mention I'm a competitive person. It's great when you meet another good player and you talk about mechanics for hours.
