Could be just a presigious competition, where many champions participate. They'd all end up in the top part of the bracket the same way anyway, but they could do a couple episodes with TR and maybe other interesting characters battling, it'd be nice.
The whole world ranking ladder they did in JN was meh, really. Especially with how some strong trainers didn't make an appearance at all, some were joining late. Just a mess.
