I've loved that world and those characters for almost 30 years, and I think it's great that this project is giving me a lot more time to hang out in that world, and I love that they've almost gone full Persona with the party interactions. The combat's fun, music's great, and the reviews have given me nothing but optimism.
They won't get to it in this game obviously, but I find myself curious as to how they're going to handle combat with the Weapons. It'll just look goofy chipping away at their ankles.

XIII & XV were massive disappointments, I can’t comment in XIV since I don’t really do MMO, 7R and XVI were better but still not great.
But 7Rebirth looks like it’s shaping up to be much closer to what I’ve wanted from this series since the PS3.
I did love the combat of 7R, thought it was the ideal way for the franchise to move forward if Square insists on it not being turn-based, it was just a shame that the game was right down by nonsense padding (Barret falling into the hidden underground lab was just insulting) and mostly terrible side quests. But this game seems to improve on that by covering more of the story
