      >games are entirely dependent on mods to be good
      >break the mods with completely pointless updates for no reason years later at seemingly random
Between Starfield, Fallout 4, and Skyrim AE it should be obvious that The Elder Scrolls VI is going to two things: a commercial success and an absolute pile of dogshit that there will be zero reason to play because the modding scene will STILL be on Skyrim SE 1.5.97

      >couple hundred working on something else
      >of those 1000 devs a couple hundred work on stuff that never even gets announced
      >others working on reboots, remakes, concept games or help with production
      >of which 90% will never leave the concept stage
      >for example 50 people working on a fallout spin off for a year that gets scrapped because they can't make it work
      >another 50 people working on a fallout sequel that goes into production
      >after a year of full production producers decide that their corner stone mechanic just doesn't fit
      >the mechanic gets scrapped
      >the game is redesigned
      >they work for another year on that game
      >game gets completely scrapped and development rebooted
      >repeat this for another year or two for various reasons
welcome to AAA vidya development. mismanagement, waste and a process that is so iterative that it takes 5+ years to make what otherwise would take 2 years if the project leads weren't so fricking indecisive. it's like a sculptor using a 10x10x10ft block of marble to chisel a single fist sized chess figurine.

What does the Enclave even stand for? In 3 it was just playground dynamics with the BoS and not even a real ideology, in New Vegas they're fricking irrelevant and the few you meet just seem like normal enough dudes. Haven't played any other Fallout.

Controlling the wasteland via making everyone and everything either obey them completely or die. They're the government remnants and there's a bunch of American window dressing but none of the writers were capable enough to actually make that identity evolve, so they're just generic genocidal bad guys that randomly reference America a lot.

    >Enclave CC mod
God damn, they can frick themselves. The "quest" is going to be such fricking dogshit, all CC quests are, it'll be the most low effort shit imaginable. If you want Enclave returning, play the Enclave Rising mod, it's extremely well done and has actual effort in the big ass questline.

      >play the Enclave Rising mod, it's extremely well done and has actual effort in the big ass questline.
      This is a lie
It's literally fetch shit all the way through.
And storyline is literally "let's fricking kill everyone" and "oh no, they turned my daughter into synth"

        Anonymous

It's a solid, well-voiced questline featuring fleshed out new locations, decent difficulty fights with new mechanics like defending against the raider siege where you have to manage the different base defenses. I really enjoyed it, and the daughter synth shit was fine, the general is a badass and recognizes that the b***h needs to die, he's true to the Enclave. I liked retaking the oil rig and slowly helping it get its shit together, I liked the free gear that made me feel like I joined the right side. I didn't think it was all fetch shit, from my experience it's mainly big set piece battles. The only real complaint I have is that it doesn't really properly pace for a character's main quest, they can access the enclave bunker right next to vault 111 but the first mission is some blatant mid-game shit.

I don't doubt the quality, it's just that it's not interesting
99% of this mod is just coming somewhere and killing everything or finding an item
That's just Fallout 4 quest design

              No?
Fallout has always been full of actually interesting quests and interesting ways to complete them
Well, until Bethesda got their hands on it
Like, I just don't understand how mods like this get praised while things like The Frontier are hated by everyone
Both have terrible writing, both are shooting galleries, both absolutely don't give a frick about lore and story of the main game but one is widely loved and the other universally hated
Oh and both are full of bugs

I don't give a shit how good or bad the quests in Fallout 1 and 2 are. You know what I mean. Fallout, as far as 95% of people are concerned, is 3, NV, 4, and 76. The quests in Enclave Rising are the exact kind of shit you find in 3, NV, 4, and 76. Maybe you think they're shit, but those games do not have some kind of amazing quest design compared to the mod, that's bullshit. Furthermore, even if a quest in F1 is well written or has a bunch of different options, it's still some fricking isometric point and click shit, so the gameplay is worthless no matter how good the plot is.

          >well-voiced
Come on now. It's especially noticeable on the generic NPCs, it's all either shitty mics or amateur actors. During the quest where the synthetic attack the rig i swear to god i heard their microphones peaking. The fricking mechanic guy is obnoxious. Ironically, Whitehall, who has the best voicing, gets killed halfway through.
I will give them credit for actually making it fully voiced and not resorting to silent dialogue or AI.

            Anonymous

It's a step above most mod voice acting, I'll stand by that. It's not synchronized professional voice acting with everyone's levels matched perfectly by being in the same booth, sure, but it's all very competent. I definitely didn't pick up any cases of mics peaking. That said, I'm used to the earlier generation of fallout 3 and NV mods where mics were even worse, so maybe my standards are too low compared to the twitch generation.
