The main reason I have CK3 installed is because the WoD mod never got updated to be compatible with the final version of CK2. If I'm going for anything other than the WoD mod I still go with CK2.

You basically just have to add the map and characters and then maybe a few unique mechanics for different nations. You don't have to organize a complex magic system and because everyone is human you don't have to figure out the cultural and biological implications of your human king marrying an orcish princess or whatever else
