Real money or in-game? Namely the Starred ITF having a fight against the giant mech men in the third mission.
Nothing, I just wanted to hear from my fellow anons. I hope you're having a great day.
Thanks, anon, I hope you are too! Happy holidays and enjoy your gaming weekend!
>I don't know what Thunderspy or Rebirth have done to endgame content
Thunderspy added more ranks to the Incarnate system (albeit they did not finish it yet) and fixed up the old Rularuu raid for a power beacon for your base. Also added a proper Hardcore mode, although that's a very niche form of endgame.
Their real outstanding feats lie in further widening the limits of character creation with much more dramatic body slider parameters, multiple accessory and aura slots for most areas including making them invisible, unlocking NPC-only and even custom-modelled items for use. And of course, you can change nearly every one of your summoned minions into such a costume now, right down to non-combat and aura pets like the Wisp/Drone.
i dont consistently play but my favorite mmo is ESO i play once in a while, and sub when they do an event sometimes. i wish inventory space wasnt bloated and you didnt need to subscribe to have a tolerable experience
yeah but they're all homosexuals now and their entire personalities revolve first and foremost around their fetishes and politics. what the frick happened to mmo players
Before you'd make friends ingame. Now you are asked to join their fetish nsfw alphabet identity discord servers. It's a sad state. Social hubs are dead and useless ingame. Everyone is just socializing outside the game through discord.
I've joined multiple Discords and never encountered any of the shit I see so commonly complained about on this site. It wasn't any different than TeamSpeak
the difference is discord allows for avatargayging and media sharing. teamspeak and ventrilo was just voice chat rooms and text chats. you're lucky then because the discord servers i've joined for various servers and guilds have all had dedicated NSFW channels and people sharing their politics and fetishes and memes for everyone to see in the general chats. Like i don't care about you coming out as gay or how your surgery went i just want to know if we have an event coming up or someone wanting to do something ingame. it's as bad as facebook and social media where everyone has a need to overly share everything

But you can just mute and hide channels as you see fit

but if i hide the general chat channels then whats the point of even joining a discord. i have to at least keep the general ones open so i can see if people are wanting to do things ingame. the problem i've had so many times is that people push through their shitty memes and personal stuff i don't care about that i can't avoid looking at. i know about hiding the nsfw stuff i don't care about.

I remember people always used guild chat to talk about their lives and shit no one cared about as well but this is somehow only an issue now that it's in Discord. Never understood that

So avoid discords with nsfw channels like the plague. Those I assume are where the groomers and unsuspecting children are.
EverQuest Mischief server. That was one of the weirdest experiences socially I've had online in years. It was like people were frozen in time from the 90s or early 2000s. Everyone was really friendly, but it felt like they were still in the Something Awful era of the internet. You hop on something like Guild Wars 2 and it is just constant raging debates about trannies, politics, mental illness, vaccines, and other topics like that. There was nothing like that on that server. I think the social element is so vital in that game that no one can even afford to troll or be too much of a dick or you get blacklisted and can't do anything.
FF11 or other older mmos with subscription services. If you play older f2p games you will only meet SEA Pinoys who you'll have a net zero chance of ever meeting
This. I've been lonely for so long and just want to make a friend. I'm a nice guy, and I like to play a wide variety of games, especially co-op. But I can't find anyone and haven't for years. Maybe someone from this thread would like to meet up on discord or something? Girls only.
No playing other games for the time being. Might play FFXIV again if Dawntrail's new mage is to my liking. WoW if they make solo rated battlegrounds permanent since I actually like that mode.
>Girls only.
You are on the wrong site bud, no one on the God forsaken site is a biological woman.
yep
been on Eve 11 years now
will prob play for another 11
other games just dont do it for me anymore
once i eventually get over the PVP i'll prob quit video games altogether i think
Giving classic WoW a go because I have no shame.
I've flip flopped between like a dozen different MMOs over the years but haven't really been hooked on one in a long time.
Closest I get now to MMO is Warframe, and usually I solo everything. New content is pretty late-game player heavy and makes it more comfy than the usual pub experience.
I log in and play WoW weekly. I log in and play FFXIV basically daily. I log in and collect the daily login reward in ESO. I should probably uninstall it as I haven't actually played the game in over a year.
I wish Blue Protocol wasn't being butchered by Amazon. I wanted to try it when it came out in the west.
i pop on old school runescape every now and then to scratch the grindan itch
i really want the dragon quest mmo to get a global release
other than that i've never really played any
Old School RuneScape. The quests are really well done and I love the overarching lore in both OSRS and RS3.
I used a good amount of mechanics from other sources for my D&D games, but I draw a lot of inspiration from RuneScape's lore (RS3 and OSRS). Did a one shot based off Lunar Diplomacy and Dream Mentor.

Been replaying Mabinogi for whatever reason. I'd say the objectively best MMO I've ever played is still XIV, but Mabinogi is my favorite. The production value and exploration in FFXIV as well as the dungeons, music, story are all fricking top notch. But Mabinogi lets me sit in the middle of Dunbarton playing Saria's Song for the 1000th time while someone nearby is playing E1M1 on loop. Mabinogi is just peak comfy. Honestly quite impressive how comparably well done it still is compared to Nexon's other garbage.
>Just a make the numbers go up mmo? linear upgrades level to level?
From what I've seen so far yeah, pretty much. Progression seems fairly traditional. However instead of being tied to your gear (as in, armor/clothes), it's tied to these badges you can equip that give you better stats and passives. So instead of having a transmog system you can wear whatever costume you want since it doesn't affect stats.
Your class is defined by the weapon you are using, and each stats has its own individual levels.
Back when I played gearing was pretty simple and endgame is basically >grind the high end instanced dungeons to unlock an extra version of your skills (rate was dogshit back then, ~0.5% chance to unlock per 10 mins dungeon but they changed it) >grind overworld mobs + mats to repeatedly craft those 'memory gems' which are basically your equipment and hope that RNGs give you good passives. Also crafting weapons until it has 4 sockets >grind some seasonal instanced dungeon for mats that you can put into weapon's sockets
They also seem to have a new raid boss now but for the 2 months I played they went with the laziest approach and reskin one raid boss 4 times with different elements. The trading was also neutered at launch because they overlooked that people would reroll the gachashit with alt accounts and gift the rare cosmetics stuff to their main account so they no longer allowed people to do that. Not sure how it is right now. The gacha was also absurdly expensive, which can be okay but they also barely gave out any freebies to f2poors.
Thanks. Doesn't seem my style of game then, but it looked fun.

Yeah this sounds about right. I haven't reached endgame yet so I don't know. I heard now with the console release the pacing and grind has been reduced quite a bit, but also I'm not an endgame kind of guy. I just want to play the story (which seems nice so far) and when I get bored move on to the next game.
I would like to play OriginsRO but unfortunately the admins are garbage and still haven't reopened the server.
Other than that I'm just kinda waiting for Throne and Liberty to launch in the West, and by "launch in the West" I mean "shut down in Korea before AGS even gets a chance to launch it in the West".
Got tired of XIV after Heavensward. Considered SoD and HC WoW but saw they still haven't dones shit about botting. Once I have more time in a few months, will probably either go back to GW1 or see if that Shadowbane private server still exists.
Nothing at the moment. I'm waiting to see if Wayfinder shapes up by the end of its early access or just flatlines.
Wish there were more MMOs that had "functional" stealth mechanics and the ability to frick with almost every NPC, like ESO and D&DO. I want to have actual line of sight and concealment type stealth so I can shank and steal from NPCs.
I've been playing some more EVE Online, but I only really play for the industry and PvE content. I like mining stuff and building it into stuff to sell, and I like owning a structure in space. Only problem is that you need a lot of people to progress industry as you continue so it starts to feel like a job managing a few dozen people and coordinating fleet times along with production chains.
I don't really like the PvP in the game though, so there's really no end goal for all of this unless I wanted to try and take territory out in null security space. Empire management is a full time job though, so I'll probably just transfer everything over to someone when I quit.
This is honestly the biggest killer of the game and will never be fixed because it's too ingrained at this point. Only about a third of active accounts are unique players, the game's just so much easier to play with multiple characters.
Imagine being able to do a raid in an MMO, except you can play all eight or ten characters at once instead of having to get multiple people together to do it. People might say, oh that just means I don't have to rely on random players, which is true. But the other less obvious benefits is that every character is geared the way you want them to be, has the skillset you want, and most of all, you can hop on and do a raid anytime you want without needing to wait on other people's schedule to line up.
EVE's been trying to add content to the game to reduce the benefits of multiboxing (The abyss was a good example, you can only run it solo, duo, or in trios and the runs take enough APM as to not be trivial to play multiple characters in), but even that gets corrupted over time as people figure out ways to benefit from multiple accounts. They won't pull the plug on multiboxing entirely though because it would wipe out a huge part of their revenue stream, so the game continues to be mostly funded by people playing dozens of accounts and other people selling them game time.
OSRS, I'm killing Alchemical Hydra while on break at work. Now that I know how the fight works it's actually pretty easy, lag is only reason I take dmg now. I'm meleeing so I can't go to that one tile that the lightning doesn't affect you, so I have to run around to dodge them.
What, are you trying to tell me to range it? My best options are a DCB or my TBP, which since it got nerfed I'm sure I'll have shit accuracy despite Rigour, Anguish and ofc Slayer Helm (i).
Dragon Ball Online. Really enjoying it. Shame it was made before Dragon Ball's revival. New Dragon Ball MMO with GT/Super elements and multiple universes would be kino.
I log into XIV when there's new content but I hate waiting around in PF so I don't stick around for long.
I miss when I could just play an MMO aimlessly. Unfortunately everything has become too easy as a result of both my skill improving as I got older and games just getting easier in general.
I remember those halcyon days playing RO and PSO, just killing shit. I miss that lowered awareness. I tried wayfinder recently and found it pretty dull. 99% of "MMO's" are just shit in general, they have not improved with games, the ARPG's of old are weaker than the ARPG's of the present but the same cannot be said of MMO's.
Bots and chinks have ruined field mobs, trannies have ruined everything else. I truly had wished Tree of Savior was good, but it was all fluff and nothing of substance.
Maybe MMO's were never good and it was merely the time surrounding them that was great.
No. Multiplayer in general is overrated af, unless it's IRL. It's not the concept itself tho, it's the human animal. If I have way better time interacting with bots than with humans in "multiplayer", why would I ever bother to play multiplayer? Game npcs are superior in every way. Most people don't even realize they're playing their "mmos" with bots instead of playing them with real people.
I got high enough level to gank some morons in stonetalon then got bored of playing wow again, which is my usual pattern
I want an mmo like haven and hearth but actually populated and funded
Wakfu monoserver. God this shit is comfy. Turn based MMO is a moronic idea on paper but somehow it works. There's a /vm/ guild if anyone else here is playing
Playing a WoW private server with bot party members. It isn't super populated (like 50 people online usually) but I'm having a blast. I really wanted to play classic against without actually messing with subscriptions or playing with other people. This has been perfect.
Really enjoyed playing FFXI a year or so ago with their Trust system so it's been relaxing to just revisit a world I'm nostalgic for and just quest and do dungeons at my own pace.

What server? There's a few of these apparently and they all handle the bots differently.
Still nice having the option of playing with others though. Being able to run a dungeon with one or two other people while filling out the rest of the party with bots is fun
Anyone here have experience with BDO? I want to give it a try but always get lazy at the last minute and go play the same shit as always. Maybe I'm just getting old.
Every time I've ever tried this game I get overwhelmed by the menu system. It's like a parody of all the worst F2P MMO's where there's hundreds of menu icons each with their own pop up you have to click every 30 seconds. Systems upon systems where hardly any of them matter.

Pretty much what this guy said. I've played it on and off for a number of years, mainly because I actually like the combat, but there's almost too much to wrap your head around.
It's very gridy Korean MMO in the sense that you have a whole load of upgrading systems that can make your weapon revert if you get bad luck. There's a horse catching/training/breeding system and marketplace. There is fishing but everywhere will be fished completely before you get a chance because bots will be there first. There's a ship system but you have to grind enough to buy it in the first place.
Lots of things that don't sound awful to begin with but has the overload of UI elements and so much to keep track of - great if you're a total NEET with 22 hours a day to bounce around the different things. But otherwise it's just not fun.
there's been some changes in the game and basically all the forced pvp is fully avoidable now and it's basically a single player game if you don't pvp
if you want a nice fat tit waifu play ranger
if you like mmos it's worth trying solely because it plays so differently
also there were big announcements made recently which from what i'm gathering right now simplify the game quite a bit and remove a lot of the bloat
The gear upgrading becomes very annoying when you gotta spend days to even try upgrading one of the later items. Most grindy mmo I've played, it has fun combat atleast.
Not anymore, no. Still watching /bpg/, and it sounds like bamco has only made the gacha more israeli recently. I just wanted to buy shit off whales like back in PSO2, but they don't seem to want anyone other than whales to keep playing, so I won't.
Had a lot of fun playing the NT though, probably because back then I could still delude myself into thinking the game's potential wouldn't be wasted.
Last MMO I played was ESO, years ago. It was fun but with only four classes, I felt heavily restricted. But combat felt nice, dungeon runs were fun with random people, whole game was somewhat relaxing.
What's my best bet out of currently available MMOs, if I primarily prefer playing as healer/support and do dungeon runs with random people? Lots of current MMOs comes with malware "anti-cheat" (EAC, XignCode, Warden, GameGuard, etc) but maybe there IS something out there without this bullshit.
XIV doesn't have anti-cheat, not like that anyway
Though most of what you'd be doing as a healer is actually just spamming a damage button or two while using your emergency ogcd heals to actually do the healing

Yeah, heard that FF 14 healing is too simplified. Also, there is only one healing class, right? No kind of "paladin" aka "knight but with healing"?
Okay, maybe I will give it a try then. I heard that there is "trial" account with rather generous level limit and no time restrictions but heavily trading and party making ones, however.

I think it's only to the end of stormblood/beginning of shadowbringers
Which is a shame because at least storywise, shadowbringers is the best and stormblood more "eh"
>moronic progression system where you lose power every level
That’s how it felt like to play D4, only had that happen in trash Korean mmos in the 2000s
Still hate that this was delayed for a year because of amazon forcing all this fricking censorship garbage into it and "localizing it for western audiences"
I enjoyed F76 too for a time, but the new level scaling was off putting. It was very apparently how you would feel weaker with each level up since enemies scaled with you. I really find it absurd how mmos that do scaling don't copy GW2's system, which is near perfect.
mostly this
I've been slow & steady across multiple characters on turtle, keeping everyone roughly at parity, getting crafting up to speed. up to about 30 now. Its taken a minute, but its been fun knowing the end game isn't going to run away from me, and there's no reason to rush content.
Still, I would take a horizontal / sandbox MMO over it any day, if they weren't all top-down or menu driven. Just give me a comfy world with a 3d perspective, so I can explore, and gradually find a niche in the persistent server.
I've been playing PSO2 again and it's still the same old nothing. I would like to play an MMO, but haven't had time lately and I would want to play with someone, maybe. Also, what do you do in Blue Protocol? What is it like?
speaking of mmos
how the FRICK do you get over tank anxiety
I played FFXIV for about a month and when I hit the level where you're expected to pull 2-4 packs at once the game became really stressful
it was already embarrassing enough not know instance layouts but not knowing how many packs im expected to pull is another level
is my health supposed to slowly go down during trash packs? or am I somehow failing my simple rotation, or does my healer suck, or does my gear suck, or is another secret option that im too autistic to realize?
The rate your HP goes down does not matter as long as it doesn't hit 0. In an ideal world the healer should do the bare minimum to keep you at 1 hp so they can contribute as much damage as possible. Once you reach level 50 basically every dungeon has hard gates that only allow you to pull up to two packs of enemies before continuing (except maybe one or two dungeons per expansion). Dungeons are also extremely linear corridors its literally impossible to get lost. Don't be afraid to use your invuln skill early in your defensive rotation. If you die just shrug it off and try again, if you never challenge yourself you will never learn.
the trick to tanking is spacing out your defensive cooldowns. Use one at a time so the ones you've used have their cooldowns finished as your last ones have been used and are on cooldown. Always pop your short cooldowns every pull all the time. Save the long cooldown for the tank busters or clutch moments. Tanking stance is 200% guaranteed aggro so all you need to do is brainlessly mash your 1-2-3 aoe combo and only focusing on spacing out your cooldowns to mitigate damage. The less healing the healer has to do the more damage the healer can do which means less damage overall and faster completion of dungeon.
None at the moment. Would love to play a new MMO that wasn't afraid to be an MMO. Happy to have recs.
Modern WoW and XIV are both afraid of being MMOs.
I'm hopeful for the new warhammer online private server called Interbellum that has a lot of promised features. the biggest one being the game code is rewritten so it shouldn't be choppy but fluid like wow. Age of reckoning has biased discord troony mods and devs so some competition for them will be healthy.
I would be if any modern MMO had interesting character building.
It's either trash like FFXIV where every character of the same class is virtually the same at max level or Korean trash where you need to spend 5000$ for a +646 Penta Sword that only gives more stats and never interesting effects.
I just want another MMO with gear like RO where you can get something forever useful from a level 1 mob.
the private server scene for RO is very much dead. The official servers are bot infested. If you didn't get to enjoy ragnarok online private or official servers back in early 2000's you missed out on real comfy kino. Discord really ruined MMO's forever. Teamspeak and ventrilo didn't kill MMO's as it was just voice chat. But with discord you have the whole socializing aspect of games outside the game which makes ingame guilds and social hubs dead as everyone is on troony discord servers to get their fill of finding friends and socializing.
you can talk shit about wow all you want but at least they really try to update the game to modern standarts, like the combat animations update was so good, i wish lotro would update the combat to be better but nope its stuck in 2007
I really hope they fix the UI and networking issues because LOTRO deserves to exist for a while longer. Private server efforts exist now, hopefully they bear fruit.
I'd give it a shot if I could change the font.
Maybe I can
whatever the case, the default is AWFUL. I've looked into hud skin, but they all seem to use the same terrible fun that is impossible to read. If they just invested in an expert to careful go over it and produce/select an effective font, perhaps even update the font renderer, it would go a long way to the game not being fricking awful to TRY playing.
But the same goes for the action bar icons. I know rarely can anything be Blizzard. one of the single best things they've been doing for years is insanely clear, identifiable, icons. We can joke about sometimes not reading what they are supposed to convey, but they are all typically immediately identifiable. Lorto icons are hot garbage. Some of the WORST I have seen.
Update that also and those two changes alone are instantly going to make the game infinitely more approachable.
>Are you playing any MMOs?
I still have Guild Wars 2 downloaded but I don't imagine I'll ever play another mmo. ARPGs already stole all the best elements from MMOs and left behind the fluff. MMOs are just slower ARPGs with worse combat and more extraneous grinds.
I've been enjoying the direction NGS is going with their new director but while the content that comes is better designed, not enough new stuff comes out to get people interested again.
Ver.2 so far feels like they see just doing a runback on ver.1 to make it less shit (which sure, to be fair ver.2 of pso1 was also that) but not enough new stuff is coming out alongside it. I hope the roadmap we get this month confirms more class reworks however, the bouncer rework was amazing.
>direction NGS is going with their new director
When did this happen? Last time I touched NGS was a couple months ago for about a week to check out the building mode.
If you last played in June, since then they have refreshed Aelio and Retem to modernize them, added a piece of dungeon content with really good randomization with a random map seed every day, made a piece of pretty fun actual open field content where you can kill dreads in one part of retem and spawn a world boss for everyone in the room to fight and they've started making 4man harder raid fights you can run freely (one is a new boss and the other is a harder version of Aegis) it's been alot of little things that have been making the game feel like it's coming together, like just a couple weeks ago they added a new pa modification system where you can upgrade your PAs with new effects (like faster speed, lingering effects to turn some into dots etc) and the implementation is actually pretty good because it's designed in a way to get you to do more than just 1 relevant thing which has been a problem with pso2 in general for years.
Theres even an in-game personal dps parser and now they are starting to do class reworks which are both things I never expected out of Sega. It's been more enjoyable as my junk food game but I still don't think it's enough to say it's good now, but if they had more momentum I think it can get there. New roadmap soon and region soon so maybe they will surprise me.
BP was such a fricking disappointment. I really like how the game looks like but it works and plays horribly. Can't even tell at this point if it's devs or publisher fault for releasing that turd.
I had some fun with anons together in it but everyone pretty much lose interest already.
Reminder that Guild Wars has an active >>>/vm/ thread and guild, if anyone wants to join and play sometime. In the past, we have completed the three individual campaigns (interest overall fizzled out during early EotN), and we get together off and on to run dungeons and the like. Just the other night, some of the guys ran HM UW.
New or old, you're welcome to join. Even if you want to join the guild but still do your own thing.
any idea if there's a chance i could dig my old boxed copies out the back of my closet and actually transfer the cd keys over to a new email account these days or is it forever stuck to the long lost email i used in 2006 meaning i'd have to buy factions and all that in the year of our lord 2023
ANet is notoriously helpful in recovering old accounts and that type of overall account support. I just swapped email addresses last year actually. As long as you know the name to at least one of your characters, they'll help you with about anything lol
Good luck, anon. Here's a proper link to the thread if you're interested. We get people sometimes asking the same questions too (about account recovery).
Final Fantasy 11, if you can tolerate old-school gameplay, figure out how to write macros for every spell and are cool with a steep, good God it's so steep, learning curve.
WoW SoD. Thinking about leveling alts while waiting to play with friends casually. I really enjoy the vanilla questing experience. Thinking of doing mage for the first time. Any tips?
I honestly enjoyed BDO on a surface level. The character creation, some of the outfits and how flashy the combat was. I'd even go as far to say that it's somewhat fun.
i am still playing a mmorpg from 16 years ago, the graphic still look like a ps3 game, but i had the best years of gaming in that game, so many friends, even 2-3 girls, so much fun during endless nights without sleep, raids, fun during events like Christmas, Easter, guild wars etc
But now i am alone, i am the only left who play it because everyone else left, i have a lot of money and items in that game, but it doesn't matter if you play alone, i wish i could go back

Glad to see the population is still high. I stopped playing when Aerec spent days choco digging up elemental ore after stealth buffing drops and made millions selling early ele staves
My WoW sub just out and I don’t care to renew it. Haven’t played XIV in 2 years so I’ve been meaning to get back to that. Already played a priv RO server this year so I’m good on that.
Now I’m thinking of downloading Toontown or Maplestory. As you can tell I have a big MMO craving lately. Even thinking about making a new neopets account
Not necessarily adult per se but something like DAoC or UO or Lineage 2. Not designed explicitly for adults but at the same time not designed for a crusty moron.
Final Fantasy XIV and City of Heroes: Homecoming. Why?
Nothing, I just wanted to hear from my fellow anons. I hope you're having a great day.
Is blue protocol an actual mmo?
Yes it's an actual MMO with open world areas and random people roaming around. You also get instanced content (missions).
how far can you get in city of heroes without paying
Real money or in-game? Because none of the private servers really ask for money outside of optional donations (and no, none of them give you in-game perks or benefits), for in-game currency that you get from running content? Eh, you can get pretty far, eventually you'll be spending infamy/influence in the auction houses for invention enhancement sets. Even then they're not totally necessary to do all the end-game stuff.

GW2 and ESO. mainly for PvP but i might go for EoD's new maps one day and give it a shot
so true. mane people complain about ESO forcing you to subscribe with this cheap trick
i heared dofus was a game where you have to co-operate to progress. seems like the right direction to me
the entire game is built to have bloat, but atleast you dont need to pay 15 dollars a month just to get past the login screen like every other mmo
>ESO
How can you stand the combat, its the one thing that killed it for me
I raid log in WoW
if i want to make friends like its early 2000s internet again, what online game should i play?
discord
yeah but they're all homosexuals now and their entire personalities revolve first and foremost around their fetishes and politics. what the frick happened to mmo players
Never understood that
Old good.
New bad.
I don't remember anyone telling me they cut off their wiener & balls and what they're jerking off to now and how in SWG in 2003.
I do, but over voice and with an ugly text name, not an avatar.
So avoid discords with nsfw channels like the plague. Those I assume are where the groomers and unsuspecting children are.
You could try playing some remade games from the 2000s like flyff universe
what the frick they made it into a browser game
EverQuest Mischief server. That was one of the weirdest experiences socially I've had online in years. It was like people were frozen in time from the 90s or early 2000s. Everyone was really friendly, but it felt like they were still in the Something Awful era of the internet. You hop on something like Guild Wars 2 and it is just constant raging debates about trannies, politics, mental illness, vaccines, and other topics like that. There was nothing like that on that server. I think the social element is so vital in that game that no one can even afford to troll or be too much of a dick or you get blacklisted and can't do anything.
speedrunning
every time I see this pictures, that troonys forehead is photoshop bigger and bigger
VRChat, unironically
FF11, most on there are in their 40's or so
Second Life: Unironically
FF11 or other older mmos with subscription services. If you play older f2p games you will only meet SEA Pinoys who you'll have a net zero chance of ever meeting
Nothing. The internet has changed way too much. People used to actually be excited to talk with people oceans away
Nope.
I wanted to play Blue Protocol but Bamco banned me for being a filthy gaijin.
this
I couldn't be bothered to set up the VPS shit
Just wait until a global release or move to Japan
>global release
(you)
I have a friend who works for bamco on blue protocol and he confirmed it's 100% coming... soon
I'm OOTL. Wasn't this supposed to be globally released pozzed and censored my AGS?
AGS is the least of this game's issues. The game will be pozzed and censored in PS5 too, even in Japan.
Blue Protocol is just a bad game, and that isn't AGS' fault it's Bamco
i play destiny 2 because i don't have to interact with anyone.
Yes, Hardcore Classic WoW
it's fun
yep
been on Eve 11 years now
will prob play for another 11
other games just dont do it for me anymore
once i eventually get over the PVP i'll prob quit video games altogether i think
i enjoy gw2 daily in small doses
Giving classic WoW a go because I have no shame.
I've flip flopped between like a dozen different MMOs over the years but haven't really been hooked on one in a long time.
yeah, world of warcraft
Closest I get now to MMO is Warframe, and usually I solo everything. New content is pretty late-game player heavy and makes it more comfy than the usual pub experience.
eve
Just got done for the day playing the permadeath server of Dungeons & Dragons Online. Had a good day, hit the 3k favor goal.
I log in and play WoW weekly. I log in and play FFXIV basically daily. I log in and collect the daily login reward in ESO. I should probably uninstall it as I haven't actually played the game in over a year.
I wish Blue Protocol wasn't being butchered by Amazon. I wanted to try it when it came out in the west.
i rabu asiaticslop

can you help?
i pop on old school runescape every now and then to scratch the grindan itch
i really want the dragon quest mmo to get a global release
other than that i've never really played any
Love osrs, runescape quests
Simple as
took me a second to realize that's a fricking avril quote
stop posting your fricking gutter shit chink game, Black person. sterilize yourself.
seek help
MMO cutscenes with your weirdly dressed character in them will never stop being funny
I want to play tree of savior and Mabinogi
Is there any good server
I jumped back into maplestory since they added a fricking sixth job
it's been alright
supposedly some guy is working on a tree of savior private server and figured out some basics but i wouldn't put too much stock in that
Old School RuneScape.
Revelation Mobile on my iPhone 🙂
are you a pedophile?
You can't just ask someone on the internet if they're a pedophile, anon!
>played the PC beta with my gf at the time
>found out we could princess carry each other
>princess carried the cute bug-eyed e-girl around all day
Been replaying Mabinogi for whatever reason.
How is blue protocol? Just a make the numbers go up mmo? linear upgrades level to level?
>Just a make the numbers go up mmo? linear upgrades level to level?
From what I've seen so far yeah, pretty much. Progression seems fairly traditional. However instead of being tied to your gear (as in, armor/clothes), it's tied to these badges you can equip that give you better stats and passives. So instead of having a transmog system you can wear whatever costume you want since it doesn't affect stats.
Your class is defined by the weapon you are using, and each stats has its own individual levels.
Thanks. Doesn't seem my style of game then, but it looked fun.
It's garbage, Japanese people don't play it anymore and the devs were confirmed to be moronic non-gamers.
>Japanese people don't play it anymore
always funny to hear opinion of EOPs about what is trending in Japan
1 Market
Back when I played gearing was pretty simple and endgame is basically
>grind the high end instanced dungeons to unlock an extra version of your skills (rate was dogshit back then, ~0.5% chance to unlock per 10 mins dungeon but they changed it)
>grind overworld mobs + mats to repeatedly craft those 'memory gems' which are basically your equipment and hope that RNGs give you good passives. Also crafting weapons until it has 4 sockets
>grind some seasonal instanced dungeon for mats that you can put into weapon's sockets
Classic Era Wow and Season of Discovery.
Every other MMO i've played was boring as frick.
XIV, about halfway through Shadowbringers. Really enjoying it, especially the zone music.
Forgot pic
Eve seemed cool at first but then you find out people are boxing like crazy and you just don't want to deal with it.
No, he is dishonestly insinuating you are a troony because osrs had a pride rally or some shit in it idk
Dragon Ball Online. Really enjoying it. Shame it was made before Dragon Ball's revival. New Dragon Ball MMO with GT/Super elements and multiple universes would be kino.
Didn't know this existed. So it's like WoW but you play Dragonball? Can you fly? Is it like Kakarot a bit?
I'm still paying Amazon for a VPS
Haven't touched the game in months
heh, same
played hardcore classic for about 4 months. Burned out. I hope the game dies tbh. People in that game are pretty insufferable.
I got high enough level to gank some morons in stonetalon then got bored of playing wow again, which is my usual pattern
I want an mmo like haven and hearth but actually populated and funded
be the change you want to see
I played British Petroleum for a while.
It was the most fun I've ever had playing an MMO.
Yes XIV and XI.
Wakfu monoserver. God this shit is comfy. Turn based MMO is a moronic idea on paper but somehow it works. There's a /vm/ guild if anyone else here is playing
is the new server the int1?
Yup, the guild is Tile Lovers, DM Duny or Mondo for an invite and tell them you found out about the guild here
Playing a WoW private server with bot party members.
>Playing a WoW private server with bot party members. It isn't super populated (like 50 people online usually) but I'm having a blast. I really wanted to play classic against without actually messing with subscriptions or playing with other people. This has been perfect.
What server? There's a few of these apparently and they all handle the bots differently.
Nyctermoon. There's and add-on with commands that you can macro like having them pull or come to your location and stuff.
https://nyctermoonwow.net/
http://nyctermoon.wikidot.com/zcommands
>Playing a WoW private server with bot party members
just download a server repack at this rate, how about a whole guild with just bots?
Still nice having the option of playing with others though. Being able to run a dungeon with one or two other people while filling out the rest of the party with bots is fun
i still dont know why blizzard wont add bot party members in wow, or most mmos too
>i still dont know why blizzard wont add bot party members in wow
anon... they literally did within the past month or two
It seems like such a no brainer for MMOs with dwindling populations.
No. They're all shit, and I've spent more than enough time trying to recapture the past on various private servers.
Technically got the latest WoW expansion but I dropped it for a Monster hunter world replay.
Greatsword is unga bunga.
tibia
Are there any good anime MMOs?
No because they're all gachas now.
Thought so
Blue Protocol
Didn't the game lost like a big part of its playerbase after the first month?
It's got a slow start but they fixed a bunch of stuff and with the new console release it's getting some heat again
that's a kawaii mini-fridge
im playing new world if that count at an mmo
Me on the left.
Anyone?
I really would like to feel that joy of healing random people in dungeons...
XIV doesn't have anti-cheat, not like that anyway
Though most of what you'd be doing as a healer is actually just spamming a damage button or two while using your emergency ogcd heals to actually do the healing
well everyone loves a good healer in xiv and you'll get fast dungeon queues
Yeah, heard that FF 14 healing is too simplified. Also, there is only one healing class, right? No kind of "paladin" aka "knight but with healing"?
There's a few healing jobs, White Mage, Scholar, Astrologian, and Safe
Next expansion will probably add another
There's paladin but it's a tanking job
Okay, maybe I will give it a try then. I heard that there is "trial" account with rather generous level limit and no time restrictions but heavily trading and party making ones, however.
yeah you can play til the end of shadowbringers which is the 3rd expansion
I think it's only to the end of stormblood/beginning of shadowbringers
Which is a shame because at least storywise, shadowbringers is the best and stormblood more "eh"
right it's stormblood my bad
theres 4 healing classes
ESO was ruined by their moronic progression system where you lose power every level until 200 hours in when you start actually getting stronger.
>moronic progression system where you lose power every level
That’s how it felt like to play D4, only had that happen in trash Korean mmos in the 2000s
No, thank God.
Albion Online and Haven and Hearth.
Albion Online and WotLK sometimes.
Still hate that this was delayed for a year because of amazon forcing all this fricking censorship garbage into it and "localizing it for western audiences"
Bamco really killed their own MMO for no reason
I just don't get why they think some anime game will have wide range appeal if they tamper with it that hard. It never will
The censorship is not an amazon thing, it's in the Japanese (PS5) version too
Frick amazon and frick sony
Been playing fallout 76, it's surprisingly fun
I enjoyed F76 too for a time, but the new level scaling was off putting. It was very apparently how you would feel weaker with each level up since enemies scaled with you. I really find it absurd how mmos that do scaling don't copy GW2's system, which is near perfect.
Cute character/costume (idk what that is, or even what game this is).
Whatever happened to the new SMT private server? I remember there being a thread about it here a few weeks ago maybe
raid logging wotlk
Have shadowmourne and downed LK 25hc this week so i can happily quit having achieved my goal.
World of Warcraft vanilla private servers. Other than that no, and no interested to do so
mostly this
I've been slow & steady across multiple characters on turtle, keeping everyone roughly at parity, getting crafting up to speed. up to about 30 now.
MMOs are functionally mobile gacha games that are designed for the PC.
Change my mind.
na I'm not gay
I play lotro from time to time.
A private server will probably be released next year, and I plan to spend a lot of time there.
>lotro private server
is it even possible to encompass everything??
there will only be a release version, like the classic in WoW
I've been playing PSO2 again and it's still the same old nothing. I would like to play an MMO, but haven't had time lately and I would want to play with someone, maybe. Also, what do you do in Blue Protocol? What is it like?
Wayfinder and FFXIV but calling wayfinder a mmo maybe wrong, it’s more like warframe
I'm thinking about giving EVE a go. What's it like these days? Is it still stuck in a vacuum or is it dying like the rest?
Where my Albion homies at? I'm up to 6mil from fishing alone.
I burned out after they added tracking and I spedrun to T7 like an idiot just to see the bird. I should play again.
For me, it's the spear.
The only MMO I like is Ragnarok
its dead genre. call me when we get sao gear
speaking of mmos
how the FRICK do you get over tank anxiety
I played FFXIV for about a month and when I hit the level where you're expected to pull 2-4 packs at once the game became really stressful
it was already embarrassing enough not know instance layouts but not knowing how many packs im expected to pull is another level
is my health supposed to slowly go down during trash packs? or am I somehow failing my simple rotation, or does my healer suck, or does my gear suck, or is another secret option that im too autistic to realize?
I just mute everyone every single time I go into a dungeon. They're all basically NPCs anyway
If you die blame the healer but ranking is stupidity easy just use one defense cooldown at a time and you should be fine
the trick to tanking is spacing out your defensive cooldowns.
Play RO then? Did the game get shut down?
the private server scene for RO is very much dead.
The one MMO I would like to play is LOTRO, but the non-existent UI scaling, shitty combat and rubberbanding is holding me back. Shame.
you can talk shit about wow all you want but at least they really try to update the game to modern standarts, like the combat animations update was so good, i wish lotro would update the combat to be better but nope its stuck in 2007
I still think WoW is one of the best "feeling" MMOs I've ever played. FFXIV feels really clunky in comparison
Old School Runescape
I am a hopeless addict
damn, i kinda wanna play blue protoballs now but aaa the vpn shit. As for what i am playin Pso2 ngs, kinda bored now though.
Jesus I riddled this post with typos, that's what I get for phone posting
>direction NGS is going with their new director
What MMO had those dresses that you could dye to look like see-through nipples?
holoearth
>As long as you know the name to at least one of your characters
this is surprisingly difficult but i think i'll give it a shot, thanks
Good luck, anon. Here's a proper link to the thread if you're interested. We get people sometimes asking the same questions too (about account recovery).
I want a good MMORPG with no dailies. This doesn't exist, so I don't play MMOs.
FFXIVs dailies can functionally be ignored without consequence.
>Dailies are le heckin' OPTIONAL
No offense anon, but go frick yourself.
Anon you can play for years without even unlocking them.
Okay okay, fair enough. I know a lot of people don't have self-control to NOT do stuff, so good on you for knowing to keep your distance.
Anon you have zero reason to daily roulettes only thing you need is crafted gear and youre set for 7.0
I don't wanna plays MMOs with dailies in them. Simple as.
Final Fantasy 11, if you can tolerate old-school gameplay, figure out how to write macros for every spell and are cool with a steep, good God it's so steep, learning curve.
It's a shame the western version of this is going to be so shit.
no, but I'm looking forward to play riot mmo and monsters and memories
Looks a million times better than Genshit, how does it play?
I’m not a troony so, no
back into allods i stopped in level 65, its nice that i think you can play the whole game f2p
Wish this game was not owned by shit tier company.
ayyyyy glad I'm not the only one
i got the shoulders nice
Any new 2D MMOs coming out in 2024?
new world
Not anymore.
Popular MMOs are trash and good MMOs can't keep a player base because the average player is a pussy with shit taste.
Correct
Don't know what that garbage joke of a game in your image has to do with anything.
WoW SoD. Thinking about leveling alts while waiting to play with friends casually. I really enjoy the vanilla questing experience. Thinking of doing mage for the first time. Any tips?
i want to play a MMO but then i remember that i dont want to pay the monthly israelite subscription tax
might go back to GW2 after 3 years to see how it feels now
come home white man
If there was a single MMO in existence that respected my time then I would play it.
Yes and i fricking hate it
I still play BDO every so often.
Yes I do enjoy a bit of masochism.
But now i am alone, i am the only left who play it because everyone else left, i have a lot of money and items in that game, but it doesn't matter if you play alone, i wish i could go back
what game homie?
is it too late for me to get into GW1?
no
Thank God no
HorizonXI. Literally the only real MMO left.
If only the staff weren't complete fricking morons. Always seems to be the death knell for every private server
Explain. There's usually 3k people online for a mono box server. How is that?
Glad to see the population is still high. I stopped playing when Aerec spent days choco digging up elemental ore after stealth buffing drops and made millions selling early ele staves
My WoW sub just out and I don’t care to renew it. Haven’t played XIV in 2 years so I’ve been meaning to get back to that. Already played a priv RO server this year so I’m good on that.
Now I’m thinking of downloading Toontown or Maplestory. As you can tell I have a big MMO craving lately. Even thinking about making a new neopets account
Do you only play mmo's designed for children?
Pretty much. The frick even is an “adult” mmo to you?
Not necessarily adult per se but something like DAoC or UO or Lineage 2. Not designed explicitly for adults but at the same time not designed for a crusty moron.
I’ve always been interested in UO but never really played it. I remember an anon said you can make a whole server for yourself now which sounds cool
>neopets
enjoy your homosexualry on both public and private spheres
>MMO-gays explicitly weeping
KINO
Tera 2 when
I was playing star trek.
