>I'm not spending a single item until I know how horrendous this whole ordeal is gonna be
THIS.
You get a massive boost for just using a mew in this raid, there's no way it's not going to be gimmick shit.
I have prepared a Bug Type Mew with Leech Life, Struggle Bug and Swords Dance, max HP and Attack investment (Mew's HP gets the biggest special boost for the raid). While I expect Mewtwo to have flamethrower, he's also going to have shadow ball, so Mew would be weak either way. Depending on how the raid is I may have to go Assault Vest and lose out on using Swords Dance.
It'll be up at midnight GMT so it will be the evening of the 31st in US.
I look forward to seeing what dumbass shit randoms bring
It will be filled with Mews.
>bringing their level 5 Mews to get the special mark
My god that's so fricking moronic that I think that this might actually happen.
I think Aura Sphere is slightly more likely than Flamethrower, just thematically. Shadow Ball is 99.9% guaranteed, so all Mews are going to be immediately weak to Mewtwo.
Considering this raid promotes Scizor as an alternative offensive hitter, I don’t expect Mewtwo to come in with Flamethrower or Fire Blast. Bug Mew may be the best option here. Struggle Bug is also one of the TMs being given out in the prep raids. Fortunately we can grind enough shards to change the type and moveset at will.
I don't think we should necessarily trust the promoted mons at all, everytime they've done that in the past they have never been particularly helpful pokemon, and most of the time they were just plain bad for raids (Lucario). This'd be the first time they actually did it right, but the Struggle Bug TM being part of the promotion does give me hope.
In the past we never got 2 preparation Tera events for a 7 star. This is why I am holding out hope that Mewtwo shouldn’t have Fire coverage. Hydreigon being present holds out hope that Mewtwo shouldn’t be too hard on Darks either.
My counter point? Iron hands has 68 spdef and it's not the best choice for most raids you are implying. So No it's NOT good for "most" raids.
For example If I see Iron hands in my Gardevoir raid, I'm abandoning the raid. If you're soloing , you either get lucky with intimidate partners or online, you're getting carried by someone else.
Iron hands is for brain dead players who refuse to adapt. I've seen Iron hand players in every single one of the past 7 star tera raids and they are always the weakest of the group. I'm going to be hosting Mewtwo raids after I beat it, but Iron hands will be banned from joining.

Here's the thing, no matter how much you whine, there is a ridiculous amount of Iron hand spammers on raids. Even normies complain about it. Yesterday I had Dark Tera / Espeon raid. I brought my Brute Bonnet, which was doing a good amount of damage. I had TWO worthless iron hand players that would just spam belly drum then DIE. come back and do the same thing over and over until we lost the raid. Fortunately I had more intelligent users my next raid and it was swiftly done. This isn't really up for debate, there's a reason people dislike having iron-tards on thier team. I fully expect iron hand morons as usual with the mewtwo raid, it is a pokemon designed for the brain dead.

Instead of being stubborn you could actually attempt to support the Hands with defense/heal cheers so that they could survive, since Dark is weak to Fighting it really shouldn't be hard for a Hands to stay at full with Drain Punches while doing damage.
68 spdef isn't even bad when you have a massive 154 HP, with proper investment a Gardevoir won't even 2 shot it.

Except that Belly drum takes away half your HP and Gardevoir will outspeed and KO you with stab moonblast. If you're doing six star raids you should know this by now. Raids are suppose to be a team effort not "babysit the irontard". Cheers aren't going to save you and that should be used for the team in general. There's no point in trying to explain this to you because it's most likely over your head. Please keep me posted on how this strat of yours works against the mewtwo raid.

When an Iron Hands has the potential to one shot the raid, supporting them is an efficient strategy. There is a reason people keep bringing them to raids that are weak to fighting.
No one said Hands is going to be good against a Psychic Mewtwo.

Yeah because they're moronic. Learn type-match ups instead of just focusing solely on the tera-type. If you're bringing an Iron hands to something like pic related, you're throwing.

Again since it's weak to fighting it's totally winnable, just support with defense then heal cheers. Keep being stubborn and wasting your time cancelling raids instead of learning to win though, not my problem.

Iron Hands is good for like 90% of all raids and don't let any moron troll nitpick to pretend the opposite. No pokémon is good against everything, expecting that moronic. Of course it's bad vs a couple of stuff like Garde, that's why you have a few mons that complement each other.
That said Hands will probably be bad vs Mewtwo.
[...]
this thin somehow get plus six in two turns. Anyone else notice that?
Raid mons target each opponent separately, and can randomly use a boosting move instead of attacking up to 4 times in a turn.
VS garde the best shout is probably an Unaware mon like skeledirge or dondozo.
Dumbass. You can't use Belly Drum if you can't survive an attack that does 50%+ damage to yourself. It's either a wasted turn or an outright KO. An Eviolite NFE spamming offense lowering/defense lowering moves is more efficient at that point

You'd likely need a dark type with lots of special defense. High Special Atk and Tera STAB psychic moves combined with coverage moves is dangerous while you have to set up to +6 or lower his defense to -6.

>mew gets a stat boost
If you’re not moronic you can probably solo with a dark tera mew. I will probably do these raids with another friend tho so it won’t be too difficult to do acid spray/light screen support with one mew then one shot with nasty plot using the other mew
So Black folk I'm buidling the Ursa I got for Dex competition in Arceus until I manage to hunt a Shiny one. What does she need beyond Facade and her Ground move? HP/Atk EVs?
I have a 100 level Dark Tera Mew with Modest Nature, max SpAtack and HP EVS and fully Hyper Trained, it knows Acid Spray, Dark Pulse, Life Dew and Nasty Plot and is holding a Shell Bell. How fricked am I bros?
These 7 star raids usually have some beefed up movesets designed to frick over counters alongside getting to proc a 5th move at certain points in battle.
Raids in SwSh are balanced at all stars even back when event Pokemon were level 70 you could still take a caterpie and win.
SV raids from 5 star or higher you will be using a VGC usage of 12 Pokemon or GL getting the host to start.
I haven't played this game since whatever 7 star raid came out after Charizard. I was gonna ask if Iron Hands is still spammed everywhere but it looks like that's the case.
Does anyone ever run dedicated support mons? I always used Sandy Shocks and I found it more fun to be the support than Iron Hands #4.
That would be awesome if they did that. However
VGCucks don't even play the games, they will just gen a mewtwo and call it a day.
If fanfictards were that good, how come there's not a sweep of smogon worlds winners?
This thing's made for little timmy to get Mightiest Mark Mew, they're not going full edgetard romhack with the movelist, mainly because they understand it's meant to be a kid's game and not a manchild anime self-insert battle sim.

I for one assume they will go and emulate Gen 1's Mewtwo moveset plus some extras just to go full nostalgia
He had two special sets and one physical in the SwSh event if I recall. Since this is mewtwo, (KANTOOO) and they made a big deal about it with the trailer like last time, I highly doubt mewtwo will run the same set. I'd be surprise if he does but I highly doubt it.

You get a Mighty Mark on Mew and a Omni-boost. Since TR's aren't a thing anymore I'm sure this is going to give a shit load of Tera shards.
I have little reason to believe these sets won't be used in the event. It's going to be alot harder because of the state wipes and the the fact Mewtwo can buff itself without you knowing. Yes this WILL happen. Gardevoir can calm mind and get to +6 very quickly. we're going to need a move to make sure it loses it's buffs. It's going to be mandatory for this raid.
TMs in Gen 8 are all weak offensive moves or generic support moves. Stronger TMs are stronger offensive moves and the better support moves. TRs are purchased directly in the Wild Areas or are rewards in Max Raids, often given out according to both the den’s Type and star rating.
TMs in Gen 9 are usually found by finding the materials and crafting them. A Pokémon’s materials can usually be found in raids except for most event raids.
Psystrike, Aura Sphere and Dark Pulse all feel guaranteed, but beyond that it's anyone's guess since Mewtwo gets a lot of coverage options, most likely ones that will try to cover as many bases as possible so that most Tera Typed Mews get fricked.
>sadly >implyuing any other shitter 'mon deserved it gain it
The whole point of Mew getting it for beating Mewtwo is because it proved itself the superior Mewmon. Wouldn't make sense for magikarp or whatever getting it for beating a mighty mewtwo.
Who gives a frick. No one is bringing magikarp to a mewtwo raid you moron. and if they manage to beat the raid with a magikarp they damn well deserve the mark.
And aside from incels like you crying over pokémn, who gives a frick they don't hav]nd them out like candy and dilute the whole intent of the mark >"it not fare, dey no give muh shitmon a shill form"
There's a reason they're giving certain pokés MM raids. It's because they're getting tera mask forms in part 2 of the DLC, when you channel ogerpon and terapagos' powers together to empower masks for them.
I'm not upset some rando shitmon can't get the Mark to the point of b***hing like an entitled child about it though. Try behaving like an adult online next time.

. The child telling me "no u" has been crying though, because they didn't give every shitmon included in SV carte blanche to get the shillraid mark.
I'd be careful using swagger, we don't know if it's going to be using multiple sets, like from SwSh.
I'm not complaing anon, this is my reply [...]. The child telling me "no u" has been crying though, because they didn't give every shitmon included in SV carte blanche to get the shillraid mark.
They said Mew so I'm sure it doesn't matter where it's from. I don't see why not about the marks, since mew is scripted to get it if it defeats mewtwo. Ability patches will be guaranteed the first time I bet and then it's rng afterwards.
Why dual screens? Light Screen works against Psystrike because it's a special attack. It doesn't care if the move does physical damage as long as the move is classified as a special attack.
So its a completely and utterly pointless impossible kaizo-tier raid?
Guess the people saying it wouldn't be hard "because muh little timmy plays it" were fricking wrong lmfao
I've maxed HP and SpD on my calm mew with acid spray, snarl, light screen, and tera shadow ball, dear God I hope this isn't some bullshit to beat. I'm ready to berry my EVs down to max Sp.A if I'm not doing enough damage too.
Just have to hope people aren't as moronic online as I expect. I am a bit worried that stat dropping moves will be on everyone and we won't do enough damage, but I expect most people are more likely to be moronic and just spam SE moves with no thought.
Hated him when he had his dynamax raid a few years back and hate him even more now. Going in with randos means no strategy or cohesion to beat him just like the old times. I don’t know why but I also expected something more spectacular when I brought Mew in. What does it do when “Mew goes all out”?
CHINT CHONG PING PONG STUPID FAT MERICANS CANT FIGURE OUT RAID FOR TODDLERS, OUR superior NOPON CHILDREN HAVE EASILY CLEARED THE RAID IN THEIR FIRST ATTEMPT, PEARL HARBOR NUMBAH WON
OK, let's test some shit. I have snarl/swords dance/crunch zacian, I'm gonna need support mons who can quickly neuter mewtwo's damage output and keep me healthy. Not worrying about mews right now (though feel free to bring a support one if you have it), just trying to work out broadly what sort of comp can win
>calm mind part of its normal moveset >gets free calm mind and shields itself at start >rests after shield breaks to heal to full
It's not looking good solobros
Give people some time to actually get supports ready, you can't drop a code with 60 seconds left and expect people to be ready when no one has even thought of any good strategies yet.
What if we just have four Mew coordinate struggle bug to delete its SpAtk? Someone keeps a taunt up, maybe someone sets a electric terrain for half way?
I was very close to winning.
Physical Bug Mew with Leech Life, Struggle Bug, Swords Dance and either Electric Terrain or Light Screen seems like the way to go. I just need teammates who don't suck.
there is a difference between hard and almost impossible, and if you are a solo player you are just fricked its straight up not doable, im going to be really impressed with the first solo clear i see a video of.
Not just heavy support
You need a coordinated strategy of at least three Mew and either a supporter Armarouge or a bulky attacker like Urshifu to even have a chance.
Not just heavy support
You need a coordinated strategy of at least three Mew and either a supporter Armarouge or a bulky attacker like Urshifu to even have a chance.
this is an embarrassingly low quality raid the point of difficulty is to provide a challenge and motivate you to try a little harder than normal not smack you around in a way you really can't defend against it almost feels like mewtwo is cheating and it feels really cheap to fight.
Yeah but Mewtwo has 50 times more HP and fully trained in both defense stats starting with Turn 0 CM and a shield.
Every other Pokémon had 30 times HP and no investment. Oh and because Mewtwo is a Legendary its bulk (106/90/90) is even more impressive than most other 7 stars.
Not only that, they made a big deal out of every Mew having its own Tera Type just to then tell you "oh yeah, if it isn't Bug, it's getting fricked up, have fun grinding Tera Shards!"
I might be alone on this but I enjoyed way more SWSH raids. I already dropped the game. No reason to battle a stupid Mewtwo that will buff itself 3 times in a turn and kill me if I can just transfer one from older games
no i agree i actually feel like the swsh raids were a lot better, some of these raids feel nearly impossible to do solo- and even with a group unless you have premades randos are sometimes as bad as the npcs if not worse straight up.
i don't understand the reasoning behind making the mightiest mark mewtwo locked behind premade teams with online, if you are an offline player you straight up can't win.
I want to say it's to get people to buy an online sub, but it's probably just because Game Freak didn't even play test it. Most of these event raids feel like they weren't tested.
they have to not be doing quality assurance testing you are 1005 right no way this would get by a proper play test its so overtuned and way harder than anything in the game by a mile.

If it was tested even once, they would have know those "helpful" raid mons they were doing just before this can't do shit in this raid (except maybe Grimmsnarl getting light screen off and then dying anyway). I'm not surprised though since they did the exact same thing before too.

im actually disappointed i was looking forward to fricking around with the mewtwo raids, you can't do anything its so strict in what you can bring.
im pretty certain it can't be done the numbers just aren't there and the timer is to strict as solo, if it can be done its going to be some extremely lucky bastard that by some miracle gets the only moronic mewtwo a.i. or something cheap like that.
The event raid AIs actually go for whatever does the most damage even if it's just by like 1 HP of difference. I built mons specifically around that for some of the other events to avoid secondary effects and it always worked.
i was doing a 6* haxorus last night that legit got 4 turns before i could do a single attack, no way thats necessary you could reduce that by half and the fight would still have been hard.
Managed to do it with randos
I had luck since we all went with a tera bug mew and the same 4 moves
-Strugling bug
-Life leech
-Sword dance
-support move (dew/light screen)
I had a mirror herb but cant tell what the other 3 had
we chew his hp even with the sleep heal
we had a lot of time to spare, its a painfull process to re-stack your sword dance so many times but its doable.
If someone want to host raids I'll be lurking for a while
That seems to be the strat that's working, though as shown with this video, if someone brings Misty Terrain and pops it before he goes down to 50% he won't rest and heal.

Attacker Mews Spam Struggle Bug for 3 turns til he's -6 while Support sets up screens and a def cheer. It's 3 turns of bug to gather the required tera energy
Attacker Mews Spam Swords Dance for 3 turns to get plus 6, Support Mew either cheers or heals up allies
Attacker Mews Spam Leech Life and burn him down, Support Mew use struggle bug to keep him at -6
IF HE CLEARS THE STAT DROPS, ALL MEW SPAM STRUGGLE BUG TIL HE'S -6 AGAIN
Right before 50% HP left Support Mew hits Misty Terrain to cancel the Rest activation
?????
Profit (and a Mightiest Mark added to the Mew you brought to the fight)
I haven't used a master ball for anything in over a decade(actually even longer than that) . I was thinking of using a beastball but it feels so fitting putting mewtwo in a masterball instead. Now I can focus on rank and prepare for the DLC coming up. Damn that was a crazy raid.

>Raids are suppose to be a team effort not "babysit the irontard"
When an Iron Hands has the potential to one shot the raid, supporting them is an efficient strategy. There is a reason people keep bringing them to raids that are weak to fighting.
No one said Hands is going to be good against a Psychic Mewtwo.
>There is a reason people keep bringing them to raids that are weak to fighting.
Gardevoir in particular is a pretty difficult raid depending on the type it gets.
>Again since it's weak to fighting it's totally winnable
Holy shit dude please don’t ever join my raids
this thin somehow get plus six in two turns. Anyone else notice that?
It can calm mind without you knowing, you have to check the status.
>Hone claws Corviknight
>Dragon Dance Dragonite
>Calm mind Gardevoir
ALL these seem to set up on each player to get to +6 faster. Any others I missed
>Iron hands has 68 spdef and it's not the best choice for most raids you are implying
Anon never said "most raids", and that point is completely irrelevant if you're not fighting a special attacker.
>disregarding because of ONE bad matchup
Iron Hands is good for like 90% of all raids and don't let any moron troll nitpick to pretend the opposite. No pokémon is good against everything, expecting that moronic. Of course it's bad vs a couple of stuff like Garde, that's why you have a few mons that complement each other.
That said Hands will probably be bad vs Mewtwo.
Raid mons target each opponent separately, and can randomly use a boosting move instead of attacking up to 4 times in a turn.
VS garde the best shout is probably an Unaware mon like skeledirge or dondozo.
Maybe in 5 star or lower raids. If you're not bringing custom tailored Pokemon to 6 star raids you're griefing your team.
Hands works on anything that is weak to fighting or electric.
Dumbass. You can't use Belly Drum if you can't survive an attack that does 50%+ damage to yourself. It's either a wasted turn or an outright KO. An Eviolite NFE spamming offense lowering/defense lowering moves is more efficient at that point
t. won multiple 7 star raids w/ Paldean Wooper
Why do people even use either of these over Ursaluna? It's better than both of them with BD + Flame Orb.
Easier to obtain.
just gen it, who cares. its a raid
Most people are either unable or unwilling to gen.
Why even do the raid then? Just gen the Mewtwo
Believe it or not, most people don't gen.
but why? it's not pvp, you aren't bound by any rule, and there is no singular winner or loser. it is to everyone participating in the raids benefit that you bring optimal mons
Why are you asking me? I'm just saying most people don't gen or don't care to. There's a ton of communities out there who are hellbent against hackmons. Not really my problem, I've had my mons for decades and I can handle most raids.
I don't have a hacked switch, but I also have access to all Pokemon games and have abundant resources in SV, BDSP, LA, and SwSh so I'm in a better position than most people in the fact that I could get anything I need. I only inject in anything 3DS or below. If the next Nintendo system has backwards compatibility the first thing I'm doing is hacking this fricking thing, but until then I don't care enough too
>What's the point in playing the game?
i will never understand gengays
why did you buy the game if you aren't going to play it
>but i didn't buy it i pirated it!!!
okay why did you waste hard drive space on it if you aren't going to play it
Because he doesnt have the money to get it otherwise
They haven't been told what to do yet
I need PLA to get an Ursaluna. And I have to trade. I don't pay money to buy PLA or to subscribe Nintendo Online.
You'd likely need a dark type with lots of special defense. High Special Atk and Tera STAB psychic moves combined with coverage moves is dangerous while you have to set up to +6 or lower his defense to -6.
Just trade for one.
Probably has focus blast tbh
If anything, it'll be Aura Sphere because Mewtwo gets that via level-up.
You're right, got which move it learned naturally mixed up.
And of course a random move so you don't even think about using a psychic/ghost pokemon.
Shadow Ball would be strong enough to even nearly kill a Spiritomb or Sableye since it has no fairy type moves.
Mewtu
-Psychic
-Aura Sphere
-Shadow Ball
-Calm Mind
Additional Moves:
Guard Swap
Power Swap
Last two moves because GF knows of course which strategies we use. -6 Special Def? -6 Special Atk? Here, take this from me!
Azumarill + Belly Drum + Sitrus Berry + Huge Power will kill literally any raid what crack are you smoking
*solar beams this post*
*EV trains and bottle-caps your mom*
>raid filled to the brim with shitters bringing their level 5 Mews to get the special mark
it’s going to be hell
>bringing their level 5 Mews to get the special mark
My god that's so fricking moronic that I think that this might actually happen.
Does beating the mew with a Pokemon give a mark or is that misread autism?
Yes, for it to be a glitchy piece of shit of a raid
I haven't done anything with my Mew yet.
I'm going to wait for /vp/ to figure out the strat for a solo Mew, then I'll make that build.
Dark tera, dark pulse, acid spray, amnesia, and nasty plot.
Not hard to figure out.
>aura sphere
I think the anon that mention bug tera is the way to go imo. I doubt it will carry a fire move.
After three Amnesias not a big problem actually.
Downside is: What if there's a sudden reset in all of your stats in the middle of the raid? +6 to 0 in a second. Have fun taking an Aura Sphere.
Struggle Bug could really be an option. I wish Orbeetle would be here for us. Special Sponge, Tera Struggle Bug, and an acid spray or two.
Does Volcarona get Acid Spray btw?
>Does Volcarona get Acid Spray btw
Afraid not. Iron moth does but I don't think that's a good pick
I'm using a physical swords dance dark type tera mew. max investment in attack and hp.
>mew gets a stat boost
If you’re not moronic you can probably solo with a dark tera mew. I will probably do these raids with another friend tho so it won’t be too difficult to do acid spray/light screen support with one mew then one shot with nasty plot using the other mew
Honestly I think Dark tera is the better choice for mew since it resists both ghost and immune to psychic.
Waiting to build my Mew until I can see what set Mewtwo’s running.
>mfw i'll just bring rape ape
there is nothing you can do to stop me
So it's today at 7 pm jap time ir tomorrow?
>start traid with four Bug Mews
>turn 1
>Mewtwo uses Meteor Beam against all four
i love meteor beam, such a cool move
>got a tera fighting mew
Nope I'm fricked
nah im fricked still havent beat area zero
Worst case bring a life dew support chansey
Did the dataminer that found out about Mewtwo raid also found out about its moveset and scripted moves?
That's not how it works.
So Black folk I'm buidling the Ursa I got for Dex competition in Arceus until I manage to hunt a Shiny one. What does she need beyond Facade and her Ground move? HP/Atk EVs?
I guess I'll be support bawd with grimmsnarl
This is really the only way to really win. DPStards are a dime a dozen. You're the MVP dude.
I have a 100 level Dark Tera Mew with Modest Nature, max SpAtack and HP EVS and fully Hyper Trained, it knows Acid Spray, Dark Pulse, Life Dew and Nasty Plot and is holding a Shell Bell. How fricked am I bros?
>gets hit with aura sphere
How often are a Pokemon's movepool used to its full extent?
The Mewtwo Raid event in SwSh was running two different sets, one physical and one Special
These 7 star raids usually have some beefed up movesets designed to frick over counters alongside getting to proc a 5th move at certain points in battle.
They have a couple of coverage moves, but every single one of these has had people speculate that the raidmon will bring way more moves than it does.
True, to be fair, i also haven't done one of these since greninja
Greninja had some good coverage, but it also had Night Slash.
Are these raids fun?
S/V looks like actual shit and those are one of the few things I find interesting.
Still won't ever buy it most likely.
No, i love s/v and consider it the best game in the series, but the raids online are a total shitfest
These raids are much better than the SWSH raids but not by much.
Raids are great if you have a good group and no lag.
Raids in SwSh are balanced at all stars even back when event Pokemon were level 70 you could still take a caterpie and win.
SV raids from 5 star or higher you will be using a VGC usage of 12 Pokemon or GL getting the host to start.
can this be soloed? I don't have nor want a Nintendo online subscrition
Yeah i got a few umbreons and chanseys/blisseys i use but they only work if you have at least two other people that arent completely braindead
This shit is going to be so scripted. will most likely have multiple stat wipes and activate shield early because frick you. Might even do it twice.
whats the best mons for him?
Mew, who gets a stat boost upon facing him.
They designed this raid so your Level 5 Mew can beat it. It shouldn’t be that hard.
>Iron Hands is good for like 90% of all raids
>Someone sends in a dugtrio
Leave Mewtwo to me!
Sadly Mewtwo learns power gem
Mewtwo learns a lot of moves, that doesn't mean they're dragging out every possible coverage option.
They should just give it 10-12 moves and call it a day, absolute coverage and make people suffer.
Unironically this. This separates the good players (smoggers) from bad players (VGwieners)
Gen 1's encounter moveset*
He had two special sets and one physical in the SwSh event if I recall. Since this is mewtwo, (KANTOOO) and they made a big deal about it with the trailer like last time, I highly doubt mewtwo will run the same set. I'd be surprise if he does but I highly doubt it.
Considering the Mew event they're also hyping up, there's no way they'll make it unwinnable with one.
I hope they have it that we can get the mark with other pokemon another time. It feels like I'm renting this mew. Not even my favorite mythical.
Pretty sure Mewtwo has type coverage for just about everything
bow down to the king
Any reason why Struggle Bug spam isnt being discussed more?
Am I a moron for thinking Calm Mind is better than Nasty Plot on Mew? I get wanting to ramp your attack but why not use the extra bulk?
+1 boosts take too long and these raids love to clear your buffs.
That would work if the raids weren't so strict on time and didn't purge your buffs all the time.
i.e. if tera raids weren't dog shit
It's gonna be a super stupid meme builds with a free set up turn, and like 3 attacks in a row by the time it's a 50% I'm not spending a single item until I know how horrendous this whole ordeal is gonna be
ok guys give it to me straight how many iron mongs am i going to get paired with in the mewtwo raid?
>BUT FIGHTING IS STRONG AGAINST DARK DONT YOU KNOW TYPING
Less than you'd think.
As mentioned earlier in the thread, you're mostly going to see underleveled Mews.
even better, can't wait.
new move introduction:
>Airborne Throw - Damage depends on the opponent's level. The higher the level, the more damage.
That's why people will bring Lv.5 Mews. Mewtu will only chip down 3 or 4 HP instead of 300-400 HP.
People bring iron mong to psychic raids now. What makes you think Mewtwo will be any different? it's all you know when you play one way for long enough,
Depends, you gonna raid the NPC way or crowdsource proper raidmates with anons on /vp/ who want to win the thing?
what do you get for this again?
you have to "win with mew"
what happens to mew when it wins?
am i supposed to care about this
>Win with Mew
Fascists. I don't take orders from a company. I'll do it my way.
>am i supposed to care about this
You're asking us to think for you?
" for this specific tera raid Mew will receive a unique boost to its stats. When you enter the battle with this Pokémon you will instantly receive a 50% boost on your HP, 20% on all other stats as well as have all your IVs set to 6."
im asking if its a permanent change
or if there is something im missing here
can you just answer the question
google is filled with homosexual results
this board might be autistic but its one of the few places you can actually trust for answers
You don't have to win with Mew, but doing so gives it the Mightiest Mark. It's just a cool collectors thing mostly.
so like the "alpha" mark within home?
it basically does nothing then huh
im ignoring the mewtwo raids
i wish the pokemon company actually announced their events
i have missed so many cherishball shiny:
zamazentazacian
poipole
etc
by the time news trickles down to me its too late
>limited time mystery gift lol
why do they do this
ok
cool thanks for answering though
trying to keep up with whatever gamefreak is doing is a nightmare
even serebii doesn't update sometimes until its too late
>complain that you miss events
>uh well I'm skipping the Mewtwo event because it's pointless
What are you whining about?
They always announce events pretty far in advance and last a few weeks, you have to live under a rock to miss the important ones
>Bug type Mew
Hell yeah Im ready!!
>tfw government-mandated mew is fairy type
is there any hope?

Now for S/V
You get a Mighty Mark on Mew and a Omni-boost. Since TR's aren't a thing anymore I'm sure this is going to give a shit load of Tera shards.
I have little reason to believe these sets won't be used in the event. It's going to be alot harder because of the state wipes and the the fact Mewtwo can buff itself without you knowing. Yes this WILL happen. Gardevoir can calm mind and get to +6 very quickly. we're going to need a move to make sure it loses it's buffs. It's going to be mandatory for this raid.
>Since TR's aren't a thing anymore
TMs are finite in this game.
The TMs yes, but you always obtain more. It’s not like some old TMs were once per save file
So? There is no real distinction between gen 8 TRs and gen 9 TMs.
The event raids all give specific TMs as well.
preparing these 4 for now:
A.Muk, G.Moltres, Hoopa, Arceus (Insect)
I am rather worries that these mon will be obliterated after they tera, thus I am adding Arceus to the mix
Started playing 2 weeks ago. Any chance I can just use iron jugulis?
we'll have to wait for the event to start to see sets. You're better off getting a mew
get Mew
it's free
The thing has to be beatable with Mew, a team full of mews even
i dont want to catch a mewtwo yet again
Is spamming haze a good idea or not?
Haze is bad because it wipes everyones stats. You want something like Clear smog instead
*joins and instalocks in your mewtwo raid"
You just know this shit will happen.
It's already begun
Anyone knows it's moves?
Psystrike, Aura Sphere and Dark Pulse all feel guaranteed, but beyond that it's anyone's guess since Mewtwo gets a lot of coverage options, most likely ones that will try to cover as many bases as possible so that most Tera Typed Mews get fricked.
Is Mew the only Pokemkn that can get the mightiest mark from this?
Yes. It's a special event.
sadly yes
>sadly
>implyuing any other shitter 'mon deserved it gain it
The whole point of Mew getting it for beating Mewtwo is because it proved itself the superior Mewmon. Wouldn't make sense for magikarp or whatever getting it for beating a mighty mewtwo.
Who gives a frick. No one is bringing magikarp to a mewtwo raid you moron. and if they manage to beat the raid with a magikarp they damn well deserve the mark.
And aside from incels like you crying over pokémn, who gives a frick they don't hav]nd them out like candy and dilute the whole intent of the mark
>"it not fare, dey no give muh shitmon a shill form"
There's a reason they're giving certain pokés MM raids. It's because they're getting tera mask forms in part 2 of the DLC, when you channel ogerpon and terapagos' powers together to empower masks for them.
Ok, now type this again without crying.
I'm not upset some rando shitmon can't get the Mark to the point of b***hing like an entitled child about it though. Try behaving like an adult online next time.
You're still crying.
Why are you complaining, moron
It's a rival battle event between Mewtwo and Mew
I'm not complaing anon, this is my reply
. The child telling me "no u" has been crying though, because they didn't give every shitmon included in SV carte blanche to get the shillraid mark.
Okay then I apologize, my mistake
Going to try Swagger + Foul Play since Mewtwo won't it wipe its own buffs.
Might work if Mewtwo only uses Special moves, but I doubt it.It might have both Psystrike and Psycho Cut.
Psystrike uses Mewtwo's special attack, so that's fine.
Grimmsnarl is an option for both Swagger and Foul Play anyway.
I know, which is why I included Psycho Cut too.
Psystrike still uses it's special stat. You are right about Mewtwo packing some phys moves just to frick with us tho.
I'd be careful using swagger, we don't know if it's going to be using multiple sets, like from SwSh.
Holy autism batman.
ANY Mew can get the Mightiest Mark right? Not just the free one?
And can you get the mark multiple times on multiple Mew?
They said Mew so I'm sure it doesn't matter where it's from. I don't see why not about the marks, since mew is scripted to get it if it defeats mewtwo. Ability patches will be guaranteed the first time I bet and then it's rng afterwards.
Any Mew can, dataminers didn't have access to the event one.
Should bottle cap my Mew?
Doesn't its omniboost give it 6IV's in battle anyway?
Even if it does, there's no reason not to
Bottle caps are cheap in sv

What's the Mew Boost do?
Oh god I can't even dent him.
I was able to do some damage after 3 swords dance and tera dark, but everyone else was doing no damage at all.
>it calms mind at turn 0
>Wipes stats at turn 3
>Can reach plus +4 in mere moments
>Bug buzz does nothing
That sounds like a perfect job for Alolan Muk with Clear Smog. Good thing Game Freak just happened to forget to give it any egg moves in SV.
I believe Grimmsnarl is the answer to this
I'll build a support 'snarl if someone works out the build. But I'll want help to get my MM Mew in return.
252 SpD
252 HP
Spirit Break
Fake Tears
Dual Screens
Prankster ability
Ters type?
Doesn't matter, you need to keep your typing. You will work as support, two of those and two attacking mons.
Calm nature?
Yes
Why dual screens? Light Screen works against Psystrike because it's a special attack. It doesn't care if the move does physical damage as long as the move is classified as a special attack.
It was an early set that worked, but you're right, ditch the Reflect and go for another move.
NTA but any suggestions?
I just fought one holding a chesto berry and it had power gem. They have different sets.
OH NO, IT HAS REST AFTER THE SHIELD
Psystrike keeps getting crits on me

Any strats yet for Mew with this?
MEw doesn't do anything kek
So its a completely and utterly pointless impossible kaizo-tier raid?
Guess the people saying it wouldn't be hard "because muh little timmy plays it" were fricking wrong lmfao
>Guess the people saying it wouldn't be hard "because muh little timmy plays it" were fricking wrong lmfao
Pretty much. The people who say this are always moronic and wrong.
The Mewtwo has EVs apparently
252 in both defenses
Why they made it so hard where is the fun if it's ubeatable because people online are morons
Because these are the rewards from the first clear.
I got a support mew and I'm working on a zacian that should be passable dps. Any of you homosexuals want to join either?
What's your support mew build?
Life dew/eerie impulse/light screen/taunt
you cannot taunt whil it's on shield
True. Maybe something like acid spray then, but you'd need a good special attacker to pair with it
it stacks up too much calm mind better focus on defense
EV's and nature?
252 into spdef and hp, calm nature
Psystrike still seems to kinda hit like a truck though so I'm not sure if def would be better
I can join tomorrow I have a date I gen my mon so tell me watchu want me to join with I'll make it up to you
defensive unaware tera ghost Skeledirge
Ghost tera opportunist Espathra maybe?
NVE Lumina crash might not work though, damage seems tight.
What about a max atk/max spdef swords dance leech life mew set? Genuinely asking, I don't know shit about mon building
Psystrike hits physical defense
True, but a turn 1 reflect coupled with the omni boost would give you enough bulk to start setting up if you bring sitrus, right?
You can't eat Sitrus, it has Unnerve
I completely forgot mewtwo even got that ability, frick
Have a tera bug Mew what moves should it have?
>Have a tera bug Mew what moves should it have?
self destruct
I've maxed HP and SpD on my calm mew with acid spray, snarl, light screen, and tera shadow ball, dear God I hope this isn't some bullshit to beat. I'm ready to berry my EVs down to max Sp.A if I'm not doing enough damage too.
Just have to hope people aren't as moronic online as I expect. I am a bit worried that stat dropping moves will be on everyone and we won't do enough damage, but I expect most people are more likely to be moronic and just spam SE moves with no thought.
Don't aim to atk on special, it spawns Calm Mind it's pointless
Hated him when he had his dynamax raid a few years back and hate him even more now. Going in with randos means no strategy or cohesion to beat him just like the old times. I don’t know why but I also expected something more spectacular when I brought Mew in. What does it do when “Mew goes all out”?
50 percent Hp boost and 20 percent boost to all other stats
Will 4 ting lus work? Do the ruin abilities stack?
The rest at half hp is fricking evil, who knew GF had it in them
Or what about electric terrain to block the rest?
What happens if you bring a Mew with Calm Mind/Aura Sphere/Imprision
And maybe just spam acid spray?
i was thinking about this too. does imprison work while shield is up?
Imprison doesn't work in raids because it'd be too fun.
I was thinking ice beam on that set too. Think it'd work?
Nah, as an anon said above, imprision doesn't work in raids.
How about this?
Slowking
252 HP/Def
Psych Up (does this work with the shield up?)
Swagger
Foul Play
Slack Off
The thing is Mewtwo starts with shields up to half hp and a Calm Mind. So you can't really set up, you need to strike it as soon as the raid starts
Yea Game Freak frick you, not wasting my time with this dumbshit
I am just waiting for a viable solo build to pop up, internet randos are not reliable at all
I was trying Crunch/Amnesia/Iron Defense/SD but the healing was not there
CHINT CHONG PING PONG STUPID FAT MERICANS CANT FIGURE OUT RAID FOR TODDLERS, OUR superior NOPON CHILDREN HAVE EASILY CLEARED THE RAID IN THEIR FIRST ATTEMPT, PEARL HARBOR NUMBAH WON
Will any mew work or is it the one you are given?
Any Mew works, pic related got the boost
Any mew, they just ran a giveaway to give those without a mew to take part with.
Synchronize work on freeze?
it should, but it seems fricky with shields up
No
Tera dark crunch or tera fairy play rough for zacian? Crunch is obviously better damage but I fear the sphere
What's it's moveset?
Psystrike
Calm Mind
Aura Sphere
Ice Beam
Rest
Has anyone won?
>HP multiplier is 50x
>HP multiplier is 50x
>HP multiplier is 50x
>HP multiplier is 50x
JUST
this has gotta be bugged or not tested at all, it’d be alright if his HP managed to go down
OK, let's test some shit. I have snarl/swords dance/crunch zacian, I'm gonna need support mons who can quickly neuter mewtwo's damage output and keep me healthy. Not worrying about mews right now (though feel free to bring a support one if you have it), just trying to work out broadly what sort of comp can win
Tdlr bring your support blissey or whatever
35H44X
>calm mind part of its normal moveset
>gets free calm mind and shields itself at start
>rests after shield breaks to heal to full
It's not looking good solobros
If you don't want it resting then bring something with electric terrain
Clear smog doesn't work?
The only mon with it which has a chance of surviving is Armarouge.
>waah waah bros we can't solo
>no one joins when a code is posted
Actual fricking morons
Give people some time to actually get supports ready, you can't drop a code with 60 seconds left and expect people to be ready when no one has even thought of any good strategies yet.
Panfro has beaten it
What if we just have four Mew coordinate struggle bug to delete its SpAtk? Someone keeps a taunt up, maybe someone sets a electric terrain for half way?
The problem with Taunt is that it starts with the shield up.
Probably better to replace one Mew with an Armarouge with Clear Smog.
Skill Swap/Dream Eater?
I notice it seems to stop using Calm Mind after a while? Or maybe that round was just lucky.
It likely had maxed out CM.
I was very close to winning.
Physical Bug Mew with Leech Life, Struggle Bug, Swords Dance and either Electric Terrain or Light Screen seems like the way to go. I just need teammates who don't suck.
Maybe one mew with taunt just in case it tries to get a rest in between electric terrain set ups.
> raid is to easy
Complain
>raid is to hard
Complain
Shut the frick up
there is a difference between hard and almost impossible, and if you are a solo player you are just fricked its straight up not doable, im going to be really impressed with the first solo clear i see a video of.
>make a big deal about getting your own mew so you can play the raid
>it's impossible without heavy support
Not just heavy support
You need a coordinated strategy of at least three Mew and either a supporter Armarouge or a bulky attacker like Urshifu to even have a chance.
That's really shitty to hear as an emulator player. I was actually looking forward to this raid too.
this is an embarrassingly low quality raid the point of difficulty is to provide a challenge and motivate you to try a little harder than normal not smack you around in a way you really can't defend against it almost feels like mewtwo is cheating and it feels really cheap to fight.
It's really blatant with how Mew gets +50% HP and +20% to all stats.
All of the previous event raids were doable solo. Maybe they'd take an attempt or two, but most of them were on the easier side.
i don't understand the reasoning behind making the mightiest mark mewtwo locked behind premade teams with online, if you are an offline player you straight up can't win.
>All of the previous event raids were doable solo.
Really? Even some 6-star raids feel impossible to solo.
A couple of Gardevoir types feel impossible solo, but I have all of the mightiest marks aside from Pikachu and I play on a hacked Switch.
Is this shit even soloable? I just can't
There's no proof of anyone doing it alone yet.
No, it's not.
im pretty certain it can't be done the numbers just aren't there and the timer is to strict as solo, if it can be done its going to be some extremely lucky bastard that by some miracle gets the only moronic mewtwo a.i. or something cheap like that.
The event raid AIs actually go for whatever does the most damage even if it's just by like 1 HP of difference. I built mons specifically around that for some of the other events to avoid secondary effects and it always worked.
why does mewtwo even need a calm mind set, it would be pretty damn hard without him turn 1 boosting.
Does anyone even like the tera shield mechanic?
I kinda like the idea of it, there's a small metagame in getting a mon's HP low as possible without triggering the shield. But otherwise, no.
im fine with the tera shield what really gets me in these fights is the speed, why do they get so many turns before i can act?
They have scripted moves at certain HP and time thresholds.
i was doing a 6* haxorus last night that legit got 4 turns before i could do a single attack, no way thats necessary you could reduce that by half and the fight would still have been hard.
For the most part it's fine, but when they open with it it's really obnoxious.
>TL;DR
1 support mew + 3 attacking mews
HP/ATK maxed, Tera Bug
>Attacking Mew Moveset
Held Item: Metronome
-Struggle Bug
-Swords Dance
-Leech Life
-Life Dew
>Support Mew
Held Item: Light Clay
-Light Screen
-Life Dew
-Misty Terrain
-Struggle Bug
>General Strategy
?????
Profit (and a Mightiest Mark added to the Mew you brought to the fight)
honestly if someone doesnt have Snarl, it's gg. idk what this whole misty terrain is for.
I haven't used a master ball for anything in over a decade(actually even longer than that) . I was thinking of using a beastball but it feels so fitting putting mewtwo in a masterball instead. Now I can focus on rank and prepare for the DLC coming up. Damn that was a crazy raid.
