I wouldnt really say that was ruby ridge inspired, its a bit of a cop show trope that the town excentric lives on the outskirts of town on a massive estate that he has becme delapitated
Its a neat map though, it really does feel like there is a lot of enemies on the map when its just a guy running around the walls wearing trash camo and shit, they should do more of that, its more evocative of some of the more memorable swat missions where you find and arrest a killer etc, rather than a small army of crack heads.

Nah, I've watched a few of their Q&As and it seems like the devs are pretty dead set on a gritty cop feel. Like during one of their Q&As they mentioned having maps for briefings that just consist of building blueprints the PD managed to obtain or even rough sketches of the buildings' layouts drawn by civilians related to the incidents on coffee stained napkins.
They initially released the game as a PVP only game, it was so badly recieved that they went back to the drawing board and rebuilt the game as a SWAT clone, and now its successful. People that want PvP in this are fricking morons that just want to play Counter Strike or Siege but dont want to be seen playing something popular for fear Ganker might not be friends anymore over it.

Not what happened, the game was being made as a PvE game, somehow "they were perfectionists" so they reworked the game a few times, people paid the supporter edition and they were waiting for something. For some shady reason they made a shitty multiplayer in between (the focus always was PvE which is kind of weird to release that first) after that they finally released the PvE which was dogshit (it was reworked again) and then it released in a decent state in 2021

Theyre in a good spot, they should focus on what has brought them success rather than trying to branch out and compete with games they have no chance of running against for their efforts.

it shouldnt even be that hard though. leave the game as is and just make the maps deathmatch or team deathmatch if you dont want to put any effort in. the shooting in this game feels really good and not many other games feel as good to shoot guns. it would easily be a top game for pvp because of how fun it is to shoot the gun.

not a scam, paypigs literally funded the 1.0 (they expanded to team to around 50 members or something). If they're happy to pay 150 bucks for a few skins so we have a finished game then thanks to them

The game is peer-to-peer, you either host a lobby people automatically connect to or get put in someone else's. I have not seen anything about them adding a server browser and I doubt they will anytime soon. There is a mod called "In Game Menu" that adds a server browser.

The game is peer-to-peer, you either host a lobby people automatically connect to or get put in someone else's. I have not seen anything about them adding a server browser and I doubt they will anytime soon. There is a mod called "In Game Menu" that adds a server browser.

I hope it's good. SWAT tactical shooters are my favourite games. I don't have high hopes for the single player content but hopefully it has a serious tone and an almost horror like vibe to the levels for maximum immersion.
