I wonder if the robot-lead human genocide will be generalized or target certain groups (like, say, very rich people).
Mind you I suspect the very rich would have emps available as home-defense, leading to dual-wave robo-human attack as some robots martyr themselves to shut down the obedient defence robots and leave the rest of the assault to the humies.
Like back in 2018-9 i could buy about 4 pounds of chicken breast for about 8 dollars. Now that 4 pounds of chicken breast costs about 26-30 dollars and my wage has only went up about 4 dollars. So the cost of the chicken breast 3x'd + some while my wage since then has only increased 3.50$. My wage hasn't even increased by 40% kek ggs.
>4 pounds of chicken breast costs about 26-30 dollars
Chicken IS more expensive now but you are massively overpaying at fricking 7 dollars a pound and you desperately need to find a new butcher. You should not be paying more than 5 bucks a pound and regionally you should be able to find chicken breast at 4$ or less.

I will be willing to ENTERTAIN the idea of paying 100$ for a game if it includes all of the games content and does not have any DLCs or microtransactions or battle passes.
I will still wait for a discount in most cases, but for those must have games I'd be willing to entertain that idea.
But they're absolutely out of their fricking minds if they think I'm going to pay 100$ for the next yearly COD or FIFA or low quality GAAS looter shooter, on top of MTX and BPs and DLCs.
Can't believe I'm going to live to see people throwing $5s and $10s in community effort for hackers do their job and crack these games, at least the ones under heavy DRM. kek
Maybe if AAA games stop focusing on b list actors and having chick characters with 1000s micro hairs on the characters face games wouldn't cost 400 million dollars. Indie games and small studios seem to be doing just fine with a fraction of the budget and better yet they don't even charge full price for the games
All they know is they wang more money. They don't care how they get there as long as it doesn't require them to make better games on non-bloated budgets.
I won't even pay $70 unless it's game of the century. Developers need to cut bullshit budgets + use increased scale to get games out at that price for the next 30 years
We will definitely have them. People are okay with GTA6 maybe being $150. TOTK was $70 for no reason and still sold 20 million. Gamers will pay $100 with a smile on their face.
>People are okay with GTA6 maybe being $150
It won't be. Nonsense from twitter. It'll be $69.99 standard, $89.99 deluxe then maybe a collector edition over $100
I have no idea until/unless it happens. I probably would’ve said that about 70 dollar games at one point, but there are games I think are worth that price

The plan is to adjust pricing every 3 months. Launch at 100 dollars to get all the morons. 3 months later drop price to 80 dollars for less moronic people. 3 months later drop price to 60 dollars. 3 months later drop price 40 and so on.

>despite development costs skyrocketing
This doesn't matter because the games are fricking dog shit and incomplete on launch and a bunch of features and such are already behind paywalls. Just because a company mismanages it's funds doesn't mean i have to foot the bill but i can tell them to frick off.
>games would cost $130 today.
Games can cost that much but be worth much less. These games that are being pumped out by the AAA and the industry aren't even worth 60$ on release. Costs and prices don't matter if they're pumping out low effort dog shit that isn't even appealing to play. They're greed is going to tank the industry if they don't figure out how to manage their funds and consolidate their companies. Mass firing are a good thing right now. Get rid of the diversity hires and ESG people and start making good games again.
You are still buying games half price and so you deserve half a game. You dont seem to realize that declining quality with rock bottom half off prices are related.
>You are still buying games half price and so you deserve half a game.
Who said im buying that shit?
>You dont seem to realize that declining quality with rock bottom half off prices are related.
Wrong gay. There are bunch of games i can buy that are indie developed that are much cheaper and higher quality experiences. The reason for the declining quality is the mismanagement of funds and leaving a bunch of the development and writing to people that aren't qualified for the job. You're the one that doesn't seem to understand that high cost doesn't mean quality.
We would be getting better games if you paid what games are actually worth. People wouldn't be getting fired if games were priced reasonably Your entitlement is literally ruining the gaming industry.
>We would be getting better games if you paid what games are actually worth.
Wrong. Your logic here is flawed. People NEED to get fired because too many of them are dog shit at there jobs and are only there as diversity hires and neopotism or quotas. Cost and wages have nothing to do with that but companies are ballooning their budgets and funds with these useless people in their company and also focusing on terrible decisions when it comes to making games. Games aren't worth the time or money they're currently at, This is why the industry is failing and "entitlement" for wanting complete and good experiences in our games is fricking moronic because we are PAYING for a product the games were are currently paying are simply not worth the money or time investment so go ahead and let the AAA and industry crash imo. We need mass fires and closures so these companies can finally get it in there head that they need to get better at financial allocation.
Correct. However, the industry is healing in other ways.
Gachas are solving the problem and so gacha devs are now stepping into single player games (Stellar Blade for example.)
Until devs of JRPGs and similar market-capped games begin pricing at 200 dollars minimum (1,000 would be better) they will be stuck at lower production values. Mass market products always suck, dev studios need to adjust for affluent customers like myself. I will pay up to 10,000 dollars for a great game. There are enough of us to make up for the hordes of turd worlders who play MMOs and other assorted slop.
100 dollars? that's a bit low don't you think? I want to be FINANCIALLY RUINED after purchasing a video game like utterly BANKRUPT I'm talking utterly fricked-for-life levels of debt like I want to scavenge rotten food out of fricking garbage bins after I'm done
A brand new playstation 3 game in 2007 cost €70. Now a brand new PlayStation 5 game also costs around 60-70 Euros.
>€70 in 2007 is equivalent in purchasing power to about €101.01 today, an increase of €31.01 over 17 years. The euro had an average inflation rate of 2.18% per year between 2007 and today, producing a cumulative price increase of 44.29%.
>Price increases >Wages are low so no one can afford games >Only oldgay pirates still play >Ganker is purged of the zoomers as anything they can afford to play is relegated to /vr/
are low so no one can afford games
zoomers may be purged off Ganker but generation alphas won't be.
it's not like teens buy the games themselves, their parents pay for them.
Considering its now $18 for a big mac, even if they raise the price to $150 dollars, video games will still effectively be cheaper than they were in the 90s.
you see. The game is measured by price /playing time
i paid 30 dollars for palworld.
a game needs to be at least 3 times better as palworld, or give me at least 240 hours worth of content (i have 70 hours on palworld right now) for it to be worth 100 dollars.
indie games very very rarely sell over $30. Indie games are the price set based on sheer quality with no lying advertising and over-hype BS and sure AAA games are worth a bit more than them but not by much. SOOO the conclusion of indie game pricing is that with enough customer scams leading to negative publicity they will have to return to actual normal "quality" based pricing and it's looking like that number has barely changed since the 2000s. $50-$60.
If they charge more than this people won't buy soon
i paid 30 dollars for palworld.
a game needs to be at least 3 times better as palworld, or give me at least 240 hours worth of content (i have 70 hours on palworld right now) for it to be worth 100 dollars.
But Ganker isn't full of children so they understand and accept inflation. In here nobody knows what it is. If anything we're lucky to have games for so cheap compared to other goods.
I cannot afford that as I am a retail wageslave.
I will not purchase their game. I will pirate but if not possible I will peruse something else. Maybe when I have nothing left, I'll stop being a dekinai, or get fit.
remember last gen >games have gotten to expensive that's why we need to add microtransaction DLC israeliteery, otherwise we'd have to charge over $60 for a new game!
People are already do this anyway when they buy the super duper up the pooper deluxe cuckold premium edition version of games. No surprise the price will go up when gays buy this shit.
The game price outrage thing is moronic.
Games are products being sold.
They can cost however much the seller will price them at.
If the price is too high, the potential customer just won't fricking buy them.
Screeching like a moron that >LE PRICE IS TOOOO HIIIIIIGH
will not get you anywhere.
Look at the printer ink. The price is objectively too high, people constantly screech about it, and absolutely nothing had changed because people continue to buy moronic products at moronic prices.
First of all, individuals can absolutely buy printer ink at a fraction of the price "various companies" sell it to them, you are fricking clueless. The markup is still pretty high, but we are talking about 200~400% vs 10000%~20000%
Second of all, "buying in bulk" does not justify a hundredfold price markup, you are fricking moronic.
Printer ink cartridges are among the highest-margin products in the world, if not THE highest. It's gotten to the point, where even well-known daylight robbery services like SMS technically have lower markup (i.e. how much do YOU have to pay for a message vs how much it costs to the service provider on average) than printer ink cartridges.
The food price outrage thing is moronic.
Food is product being sold.
It can cost however much the seller will price it at.
If the price is too high, the potential customer just won't fricking buy them.
Screeching like a moron that >LE PRICE IS TOOOO HIIIIIIGH

The housing price outrage thing is moronic.
housing is product being sold.

Journo wienersuckers are trying to prime us for $100 games with liveservice and other bullshit when all that's going to happen is the whole thing implodes. I don't pay more than a 1-3 bucks for a game unless I think it really deserves it and that's not going to change.
That's why they throw out the "see? In 1998 the latest games were expensive, too!" and then not show you the grocery ads or talk about the upward mobility of the late 1990s.
I have almost 50 years worth of vidya I can play right now, if the entire world stopped producing games I'd still have enough games to play in my lifetime, only trend chasers have to pay these absurd amounts, this doesn't affect me in the slightest
>Game industry is not sustainable, meaning they allocate really high budget to games without substance >They are expensive >Oh shit I know what will be good!!!! Let's make it even MORE expensive
Yeah I never paid 70, let alone 100 for a game. I'd prefer buying 4 years of osu support.
it doesn't matter how much they charge for video games when none of them are worth buying in the first place. i would easily pay 100 dollars for a truly good video game
>movie budgets inflated like hell in the past decade >new blu-ray release still $22-24
>game budgets inflated like hell in the past decade >new vidya $80, released unfinished, with a $30-40 battle pass/season pass, and treating you like shit for not paying for the $100-edition of the game to play it 3 days early with other exclusives
I would buy fromsoft games exclusively, as I wouldn’t want to gamble on any other gaming company, as most games are little more than interactive movies made for casuals.
Of course I'm ready. I got into the habit of pirating everything a few years ago.
And watch everything come out with denuvo. Also, where is that troony cracking it?
imagine needing someone else to break encryption for you.
AI would already be trained to crack it, that troony would be long off necking itself hopefully.
The only game in the last decade I'd be willing to pay $100 for is Factorio, and at this rate it soon will be.
It’s funny that people think the industry won’t collapse and then they make articles like this
By the end of.decade, 100$ is nothing due to inflation
too bad our wages will be the same...
People think low inflation will stay there forever.

>despite development costs skyrocketing
This doesn't matter because the games are fricking dog shit and incomplete on launch and a bunch of features and such are already behind paywalls. Just because a company mismanages it's funds doesn't mean i have to foot the bill but i can tell them to frick off.
If costs had risen with inflation, games would cost $130 today. You are paying half the price, you deserve half a game.
>games would cost $130 today.
The euro had an average inflation rate of 2.18% per year between 2007 and today, producing a cumulative price increase of 44.29%.
games should already cost €100
Are publishers ready for piracy to become rampant again?
>but denuvo
Won't matter in the long run.
Gun to their head, you couldn't get a zoomer to find his download folder
>Price increases
>Wages are low so no one can afford games
>Only oldgay pirates still play
>Ganker is purged of the zoomers as anything they can afford to play is relegated to /vr/
are low so no one can afford games
zoomers may be purged off Ganker but generation alphas won't be.
it's not like teens buy the games themselves, their parents pay for them.
Considering its now $18 for a big mac, even if they raise the price to $150 dollars, video games will still effectively be cheaper than they were in the 90s.
You guys are paying for games?
people will be even more eager to sell it fast to reduce the cost, thus crashing the price, it's a win win for anyone.
Sony will phase out physical games slowly and everything is on Cloud soon.
>AAA games are made by Indians, with salary less than janny's.
>game prices still rises up to 100$
nice try Vile Shlomo
When will devs just realise making bloated games is not feasible ffs.
bg3/elden ring prove it working with 100+ playing time while starslop failed miserably.
you see. The game is measured by price /playing time
Gee, are my wages gonna' rise as well, not just game prices?
The wage of gamedev will rise /s
indie games very very rarely sell over $30.
Glad all i have time to do now is play old games and gacha. Frick $100+ games.
>cost of living doubles
>you don't care
>video game costs $10 more
>outrage
Are you all children or what?
uhhh excuse me gay, But this is a board where we discuss VIDEO GAMES. Not discuss the inflation in general. Go to Ganker you dumbfrick.
Their mom covers their room and board, but he has to use his allowance to buy new games
>why are you not getting mad about this completely off topic thing?
We're on Ganker
The Ganker aspect of shit hitting the fan is discussed here.
I suppose Ganker would be more in line with the food aspect.
But Ganker isn't full of children so they understand and accept inflation. In here nobody knows what it is. If anything we're lucky to have games for so cheap compared to other goods.
Luxury goods have always been unaffected by inflation.
>Luxury goods
Luxury goods has been outperform reported inflation for many years.
Only if it means ALL DLC is free and the game must be updated monthly or every two weeks. If not I’m pirating everything
I'm done with this after gta 6, might come back to laugh at bethesdas next game
I cannot afford that as I am a retail wageslave.
I will not purchase their game. I will pirate but if not possible I will peruse something else. Maybe when I have nothing left, I'll stop being a dekinai, or get fit.
remember last gen
>games have gotten to expensive that's why we need to add microtransaction DLC israeliteery, otherwise we'd have to charge over $60 for a new game!
Remember when they said that digital games would be cheaper then the physical copies?
People are already do this anyway when they buy the super duper up the pooper deluxe cuckold premium edition version of games. No surprise the price will go up when gays buy this shit.
Good. Total video game death. Make gaming indie and Japanese again.
That's what I make in a year and I'm considered well off in my country
Are you ready for bankrupcy?
Nooooo I have to work 2 hours for a game instead of 2.5!
Why is the industry not sustainable?! It must be because we aren't being greedy enough!
Bring it. I just play old games and mods for old games. I'm completely unaffected.
The game price outrage thing is moronic.
Games are products being sold.
They can cost however much the seller will price them at.
If the price is too high, the potential customer just won't fricking buy them.
Screeching like a moron that
>LE PRICE IS TOOOO HIIIIIIGH
will not get you anywhere.
Look at the printer ink. The price is objectively too high, people constantly screech about it, and absolutely nothing had changed because people continue to buy moronic products at moronic prices.
printer ink is not made to be bought in parts by individual people but in bulk by various companies

>LE PRICE IS TOOOO HIIIIIIGH

The housing price outrage thing is moronic.
housing is product being sold.
It can cost however much the seller will price it at.

That would be when either the actual economy or the video game economy fricking implodes for real
>Game industry is not sustainable, meaning they allocate really high budget to games without substance
>They are expensive
>Oh shit I know what will be good!!!!
LOL Are the devs ready for me to not pay for nor play those 100 dollar games?
No because it won't happen.
>movie budgets inflated like hell in the past decade
>new blu-ray release still $22-24
>game budgets inflated like hell in the past decade
>new vidya $80, released unfinished, with a $30-40 battle pass/season pass, and treating you like shit for not paying for the $100-edition of the game to play it 3 days early with other exclusives
with DLC, games are basically at $100
I guess if it's a high quality massive game with a shitload of content
Other than that? Nah keep it at $60
>layoffs everywhere
>Xbox dead
I'm ready for the vidya crash of 2024, actually.
now is the time to buy if you haven't already. Gog.com also if it is possible, you can actually own the games
Today $60 usd games drop to $30 in four weeks.
By the "End of the Decade" $100 usd games should drop to $30 in four weeks.
And companies wonder why Palworld was a massive hit.
Make it $1000 and watch me not give a shit, I've been consuming triple As through streamers for a decade now.
I'm already buying games for $100.
Stop making AAA games. Problem solved. $100 games is asking to get them pirated.
Only for consoles since Sony will have a monopoly poor normies paying 100 dollars for fricking Call of Duty or Fifa
>I want $20 to stand in front of a register!
>wtf why is everything so expensive?
I wonder how surprised they will be when no one buys them lol
>$250 Canadian Loons
>$85 British Quid Stone
$15,000 Australian Dollarydoos
I would buy fromsoft games exclusively, as I wouldn’t want to gamble on any other gaming company, as most games are little more than interactive movies made for casuals.
