Main complaint in Destiny is that they reuse assets currently every time new content drops.

I can picture Bungie trying to use AI to generate guns
      >Bungie uses AI to create a gun
      >it's got a scope sticking out of the barrel
      >the grip is on the top of the gun
      >there's a second barrel on the bottom of the gun that loops and twists around in silly straw shapes that points right at the player's face
      >Bungie throws it in and just calls it an exotic gun

I've seen amazing uses of AI to flesh out games but you have to have a good idea to begin with. You can't make an entire game with it so Bungie will still suck. For Gloomhaven Digitial they had a tool that would generate scenery. For instance, they would make a bookcase and then tell the AI to generate bookcases with random assortments of books.

Streamlining asset creation is anything but soulless.
They have more time to inject soul if they're not wasting it modelling 30+ photorealistic tree models for every single game.
If anything this will serve to take the focus off irellevant graphicsshit and back onto gameplay.

      >They have more time to inject soul if they're not wasting it modelling 30+ photorealistic tree models for every single game.
How many times do we have to explain to the idiots that the people who make the environments and assets in games are NOT the same people writing the scripts, coding the gameplay, or making it overall a fun experience?

        Anonymous

Yes, often to the detriment of the two working in tandem.
Perhaps time was a bad choice of words. Money is a better one. How much money do you think is wasted paying people to make new assets constantly?

Labor is the most cost-consuming aspect of any business. Cutting out the 600 modelers/texturers will allow them to spend more money on other aspects of the game.

They won't. They'll do what they always do: Fire 30 people because now 1 person can almost do the same job.
They'll use some of the savings to convince gamers that "it's always been this way" and then loss of quality is "a good thing" while pocketing the rest.

I don't really care what you support, but capitalism and communism are pretty much your only options. One of them results in you shitposting about how bad it is on the internet from the comfort of your environment-controlled home, and the other results in you starving to near-death before being lined up against the wall and put down for being a moronic anarchist child.

The state of their respective games?
Destiny has somehow gotten even worse despite the absolute rock bottom lows it started at.
Halo went from the biggest American video game series to a joke even with unlimited m$ money.
343 is worse from a competentcy standpoint, but Bungie is a colossal fall from grace, whose greed made their composer who did all of Halo's music leave.

Destiny is probably the worst game ever made in terms of effort put in VS potential of franchise.

They've been using the same enemy types for like a decade. No other studio has ever been this lazy. Imagine if they made a new COD and it was the same factions, same enemies, everything and the final boss was just General Shepherd but a little bigger and with a red tint.

It would be insane right? Bungie is that lazy. They could switch to AI and it would be a sideways move at best because they are fricking horrible.

AI has huge potential to make things many times easier.
People say it'll completely replace industries and workers, but the truth is that even that is not so close by.
It's more possible that AI can actually work as a sophisticated tool.
The closer it comes to that, the sooner men can get android wives to replace worthless biological females who ruin everything they have going for them.
Embrace the future, even if it involves a fall, because the truth is we don't owe the world shit.
Let the homosexuals of the future generations handle the downfall of humanity just like boomers left us holding the bag with the current economic climate.
