I like the idea because it gives more meaning to the entire leveling experience. Professions are more important, there’s a higher emphasis on grouping, and completing quests feels more satisfying, especially if it’s a harder one. imo they should have changed it so mobs don’t give any exp, you can only get it from completing quests but that would probably be too much work to scale the whole game to that.

Half the fun in MMORPGs is grabbing 4 of the gang and saying "there is a very high chance we will die multiple time but lets fricking go".
Hardcore is "i'm not doing Deadmines until level 30 because someone might DC and I need to solo it"

How is this even a game mode? the only people who die in hardcore are streamers doing it on purpose for twitch highlights, no regular person would have any issue lvling through classic without dying

Started as something the permasubbed addicts scrounged up to justify vanilla classic to continue existing, when it became popular streamers moved in to leech on the trend as always and now that the novelty is pretty much spent Blizzard decided to try to capitalize on top of it.
Removing rez spells seems dumb. I'd like an MMO with permadeath where someone either has to rez you or carry your body to the temple to be rez'd but that would be an actual game with vision and not just a predatory whale hunting monetization stylized as a videogame.

Perma death is moronic. Atleast make it reasonable where if anyone dies in a raid or instance they cant be ressed, or make quest chains reset if you die during them, only give exp from quests, MAYBE lose items/gear if you die. Having your character deleted is such a masochistic idea of fun, especially with the instability of WoW. Make it a competition for a specific period of time if they really want a last man standing experience. This game is already an absurd waste of life, what moron wants to level a whole new character when they die to a c**t kiting mobs?
if you die you can move your character for free on classic era
but yeah, you'll be stuck in ghost form on hardcore realms
