Tempted to dump my stash on Furina until C2 then wait for Fontaine reruns to grab whichever Fontaine dps I like playing the most and their signature weapon.
I sometimes go up to over a minute because I'm not running optimal farm teams and am mixing it up. I think I could do it closer to 30-40 with Nilou bloom.
To be fair I have c2 but you would think melt with assumingly c6 Diona would do a lot better. I have Yoimiya too but I rarely have a use for her, she's just bad and feels bad to play.

There's almost no difference just use any of the good 4 star weapons. It's not like Yelan where your skill damage is practically doubled with the characters weapon (even more if attacking a group)
Yelan C1 is the most busted con in the game and she's actually underrated by theorycrafters >need a battery? Run fav >need em buff? Run elegy >want big damage? Run aqua
She's great for running around overworld, killing hilichurl camps, doing bosses, and has a ramping damage buff for abyss. People get way too hung up on xq's hydro application.

This is why her talents will never go past 6. Farming those things is such a massive pain in the ass that I even spend stardust on them.
If you go to where picture related is daily you can go to the red circle and kill like 10 Treasure Hoarders and six mushrooms just with Dendro and Hydro in seconds. Even faster if you don't care about the good mushroom drops. If you then fall down the waterfall to where the blue circle is you can find seven Specters there, two of those Kusanali lotuses above you, and then if you walk into the alcove near the Electro Crystal it will spawn three more mushrooms behind you.
If you just do this every so often (Like, once every three days) you should be more than fine with Specter drops for when you need them with no need to do the awful Inazuma routes.
it's stupid how little materials those shits drop, half the time they drop a SINGLE white quality item. Meanwhile whopperflowers dump 4 whites and 1 green at the least, and they're not even that much harder to kill.

Since he seems to be "known" yet whenever you meet an NPC they just go "oh hey you're the traveler could you get me my mail" which at this point strikes me as rather odd given MC's laundry list of disaster preventing feats
Fontaine seems to know about Traveler because of their spy network which is why they're super popular in Fontaine specifically, and even then people are kinda 50/50 if they know who they are.
Obviously the Fatui know who the Traveler is on sight because they've stopped various plans like four times now.
Considering how many random NPCs in events have no idea who the Traveler is,have only heard tales of a "Golden haired traveler and their floating companion", and maybe one exploit from one of the four countries in so far it seems like either word gets around slowly or they know of Traveler but not anything about who they are or what they look like.

Geo's pretty rough, but I noticed it less due to bias and it being a mostly insular element. They could still get me to go crazy for a geo 5* girl, but it would have to be a Yunjin situation where I like both her design and her goofy support. Navia is good, but I don't particularly care for her.

Layla's shield shots are inconsistent and too infrequent for cryo activation even if the active character has a low CD skill, and her burst doesn't home-in outside of it's AoE, which is my main problem.

This is why her talents will never go past 6. Farming those things is such a massive pain in the ass that I even spend stardust on them.
If you go to where picture related is daily you can go to the red circle and kill like 10 Treasure Hoarders and six mushrooms just with Dendro and Hydro in seconds. Even faster if you don't care about the good mushroom drops. If you then fall down the waterfall to where the blue circle is you can find seven Specters there, two of those Kusanali lotuses above you, and then if you walk into the alcove near the Electro Crystal it will spawn three more mushrooms behind you.
If you just do this every so often (Like, once every three days) you should be more than fine with Specter drops for when you need them with no need to do the awful Inazuma routes.

Since he seems to be "known" yet whenever you meet an NPC they just go "oh hey you're the traveler could you get me my mail" which at this point strikes me as rather odd given MC's laundry list of disaster preventing feats
Fontaine seems to know about Traveler because of their spy network which is why they're super popular in Fontaine specifically, and even then people are kinda 50/50 if they know who they are.
Obviously the Fatui know who the Traveler is on sight because they've stopped various plans like four times now.
Considering how many random NPCs in events have no idea who the Traveler is,have only heard tales of a "Golden haired traveler and their floating companion", and maybe one exploit from one of the four countries in so far it seems like either word gets around slowly or they know of Traveler but not anything about who they are or what they look like.

It is better. Kirara has basically no off-field dendro application. Her burst sucks too. Her shield is strong though and has zero downtime, so that's really useful for aggravate teams since dendro application isn't that important and what Kirara provides is enough.
Kirara's niche is in Nilou bloom though where you apply hydro aura to yourself and ram into enemies to kill them
She's bad outside this specific team but luckily this specific team is very good

I was thinking more along the lines of Kaeya where the burst follows the active character around, something that's not restrictive with a stationary AoE, which every single female cryo character has as cryo application basically, cause all of their skill abilities are too inconsistent.
...So Layla. Her shots home in on enemies automatically from her hsield and her burst. The ones from her shield, well, follow you and your shield and generate faster as you keep attacking.
Layla's shield shots are inconsistent and too infrequent for cryo activation even if the active character has a low CD skill, and her burst doesn't home-in outside of it's AoE, which is my main problem.
her cooldowns are long and her burst is expensive so not very consistent either

If you were to replace Wriothesly, Clorinde, Charlotte, and Freminet's models with generic NPCs in the archon quests of fontaine, they would all be entirely forgettable.
The same couldn't be said for Nuevillette (post-story quest), Furina, Lyney, Navia, Sigewinne, Arlecchino and even fricking Lynette somehow.
