Like over the past few years, two kids in the extended family wanted to go master race, so they just told me their budget and asked me to make it happen. If you don't have someone cool like me in the family, then I understand why a console is a good idea. It just werks.
I'm impressed that the kids haven't really called up asking about problems either, one asked advice how to add another hard drive, but that's it. Frankly, it's not always as simple as turning it on and playing a game so I'm glad they learned how to troubleshoot shit themselves like when I was their age. It's more because you have to accept console performance for what it is and usually your choice is between a graphics mode or a performance mode.
PC settings are a shit show because usually it can be a pretty minimal difference between medium, high and ultra but then ultra tanks your FPS by 5 to 10 and there is no way to know that unless you look up guides and the performance optimizer for the game suggested all ultra settings.
