I played the Xbox One version of Knight on Series X and something was definitely off with it on my big 4K TV, I think it's 720p combined with a film grain you can't turn off.
I played it on a Series S on a 1440p monitor the other day and it looked great but what's indefensible is you saying Return to Arkham looks better, that is some unbelievable bullshit

Return to Arkham looks clearer than Knight because that awful film grain isn't on it and it's higher res

Oh goodie, I now have a perfectly clear view of the faces that look less detailed than the 360 releases and the downgraded less cohesive atmosphere
Nah, I last played it like a year and a half ago or so. It's definitely got top tier graphics, even now
Of course, the nighttime setting and the constant rain in the map goes a long way towards helping it look great. Same principle as the T-Rex attack in Jurassic Park. But even beyond that, it's got a great art style, atmosphere, character models (before lazy facescans were the norm), and a good-looking Gotham. There's a lot of attention to detail in that game
Artstyle/direction>realism
Thats why soiderman ps4 city looks souless because it's just one to one copy of nyc
Eh, Spider-Man's New York isn't utterly awful but it absolutely should be way more atmospheric. It's just kind of plain, and the closest you can get to making it look more interesting is by setting the in-game time to sunset. I'm hoping the sequel will renovate the map a bit, especially with the addition of Brooklyn and Queens
My memory is perfectly fine, it's still one of the most technically beautiful games, modern devs including nu-rocksteady WISH their games looked that good.
>including nu-rocksteady
Have they even done anything after Arkham Knight? Or is that shitty, obviously dead-on-arrival Suicide Squad game all they've been working on for the past 8 years?
Why no Arkham Origins?
What is wrong with WB in pretending that the game never existed? If anything, it should have been a launch title for the Xbox One and PS4.
>Trilogy
So no Origins? And Knight will probably be a stream game
I think it's just because it was made by WB Montreal, not Rocksteady, and it doesn't have Conroy and Hamill as Batman and the Joker, either. Plus IIRC it didn't release to the same critical praise as the Rocksteady games so WB probably consider it a black sheep failure, when it's actually a perfectly good game with a surprisingly great story that's better than at least City's and maybe even Knight's too

black mask >>It was me! Joker again!
Yeah I meant to mention, you need to be able to overlook the usual surprise Joker twist they do
But I still think it's a good story. Batman actually has a character in it, for one. In the other games (aside from the back half of Knight), he's mostly just a completely blank slate.
The actual story setup led to a ton of great boss fights, I can understand disliking the overhyped Deathstroke fight but bosses like Firefly and the two Bane fights are pretty good. >Everything they ape was done better in City
You need to replay City and pay attention to how absolutely messy the story is. I still love the game, but that plot is all over the place
Nothing beats the Freeze fight, though
They're working on Suicide Squad an so far it looks like shit compared to AK.
I don't think a single soul anywhere is hyped for their Suicide Squad. I just wish they'd been able to do their Superman game like they'd so obviously been planning.

I couldn't fricking believe it when they even had Joker singing over the credits just because Rocksteady did it in City. Origins was absolutely shameless.

Graphic’s haven’t really improved from the 360/ early Xbox one era.
>No, they just use a lot of rain to hide the fact that it looks like a 360 game
Clever use of technology is not an argument against a game. Mirrors Edge looks phenomenal despite it has baked everything. In fact that is the reason it still looks great.
Anon, we've been over this 10s of times already.
There doesn't exist a game that couldn't run on Switch...
Other than insanely limited systems like the Atari 2600, you can create a port of any game for any system, but the price of the port/remake etc goes up as you have to redo more shit.
Doing something like a port of Crysis for the PS1 would require redoing EVERYTHING.
at that point it can hardly be called a port, because the CPU load would be too high to accurately simulate the game itself in spite any graphics (done on GPU)

Thinking a bit, i think i picked one of the very few examples where that is not truth, given the massive AI and physics of the game.
Probably something like TLOU is an easier pick.
Funnily enough, i'm pretty sure the original crysis would run better on the switch than on the PS4.
Neither would run it any well, but the switch is faster than the PS4 per core, and as crysis is basically a single core game, it would run at solid 15 FPS on the switch, while barely touching 10 on the PS4
All City women look like drag hookers who are one step away from being called a transitioning man.
Glad to see someone else agrees. I think it's the overdone makeup that really makes them look like drag queens tbh.
Then again, I'd take these ridiculously painted sex dolls over the uglified and utterly desexualised women we get in most vidya these days. Arkham Knight came out at just the right time
All her default outfits in both games are awful.
Nah. I like my purple 90s Catwoman too, but her default Arkham look is still good
Torn between thinking it's cool to have them portable and wondering who is still up to replaying these for the 50th time. It's a great trilogy but what's the limit on how many times you can replay them?
Why the frick is Origins never included in any of these collections? It never got remastered, either. It's backwards compatible on Xbox, but you need the disc to play it because it's unavailable on the digital store. Bugs the shit out of me.
It's weird especially given that Knight makes references to it, both in goon/Deathstroke chatter and in the Firefly missions. A player won't know what the frick they are talking about.
Is WB not the one deciding to sell the games, requiring extra permissions? I thought they still retained the publishing rights to all of them.
I still hate the cobra sections whenever I replay. They just play like hugely oversized predator rooms with no gadgets or grapnel hook, it's horribly boring.

I always liked the Batmobile in Knight tbh. I like speeding and drifting through the streets, and I like getting stuck in the middle of a tank army and blasting them all away without getting hit once.
But I can understand why the sheer number of times you have to use it would get tiring if you don't like it
dang just bought the collection for 7 bucks on ps4 not too long ago. tackling all the challenge maps is something I’d rather do on my Switch too. oh well
I used to play Arkham Knight with a GTX 660 Ti at some lowish resolution like 720p or 960p. Despite being a great looking game, it downscales to weak hardware rather well. If you set detail level to lowest you can even see during cutscenes that the game will switch dynamically to high res character textures depending where the camera is, in order to look its best with the resources available.
Arkham Knight ran on my shitty AMD FX 4300+GT 1030 PC at 30 FPS/Medium-Low Quality 1080p, of course it can run on the fricking Switch. Rocksteady games are incredibly optimized

Knight looks better than Gotham Knights.
Knight looks kinda bad compared to the remasters it has this grainy look to it and especially when it's raining.

it's not even on 360

How the frick can the Switch process the Batmobile???
I guess Arkham Knight is almost a decade old now, but still...
Why not release this years ago. Can't imagine anyone caring at this point. Weird shit.
You need time to port games to Switch.
>Featuring: Batman
>still no love for Origins
Shit game
Cloud
>Holy shitttttt i can finally play arkham knight at 6fps 480p, switchSister we won
Can't wait for bloodborne switch port to
Played Arkham city on PS4 and the framerate was shit.
Who's making the port for the switch? It's going to be hard.
Shocked it isn't a cloud version
Nintendo is scraping the bottom of the barrel for ports. I’d love to see knight run on that shitty hardware
It's more like every publisher out there is putting whatever they can on the switch given it's already the 2nd best selling console of all time
It's the same development team who made Tony Hawk 1+2 for Switch, plus Life is Strange, Borderlands, and a few other ports.
The Tony Hawk one looks good, how are the other ports they've done? Extremely curious to see how Knight will run
will arkham knight look better on switch than the new Gotham Knights on PC?
They look about the same, Judy no Chinese stuff and slightly more detailed buildings
You just ignoring the rain particle effects?
Finally i can play Batman on the go, like it was intended
>Nintendo kids will see this Catwoman now.
that's supposed to be a cat?
more like batwoman
its one of her shitty outfits
Her default outfit is horrible.
Her bat outfit is worse
Nope, along with the TAs is the best, her default is terrible and not sexy.
Knight's Catwoman > City's Catwoman
All the women in City look like blow-up dolls, and not in a good way
Dat squished kitty titty
Meow, amirite?
Glad to see someone else agrees. I think it's the overdone makeup that really makes them look like drag queens tbh.

>WB can port this to the fricking Switch
>SE can’t port a couple of PS2 KH games
The absolute state.
>>SE can’t port a couple of PS2 KH games
Wasn't that because of the sourcecode not existing anymore?
No, because they ported it to literally every other console.
I'm so fricking glad I didn't buy a PS4 for Knight. I bought a PS3 for Asylum and MGR and even then had such buyers remorse.
I got Batman Arkham Knight for like $5 for sale on Steam. How much is this probably going to cost?
Why no Arkham Origins?
What is wrong with WB in pretending that the game never existed? If anything, it should have been a launch title for the Xbox One and PS4.
Just play it on your Wii U
>Trilogy
So no Origins? And Knight will probably be a stream game
>Nier Automata
>Batman Arkham Trilogy
>The Wonderful 101
>Metal Gear Rising
3 of the 4 of my dream gen 7 ports have come to Switch and there is a 5% chance I'll get my 4th one if it's included in the next MGS Collection.
im glad they used the original version as a base for the port instead of the remaster
So it's going to look like the PS3/360 original and not the diluted remaster then?
You're asking too much for current day developers.
They finally learned how to optimize their games.
Origins was the best Arkham game and it's black sheep treatment is unjustified.
It's far better than AK.
Torn between thinking it's cool to have them portable and wondering who is still up to replaying these for the 50th time. It's a great trilogy but what's the limit on how many times you can replay them?
I played Asylum and City about 10 years ago. Haven't played Knight yet. Definitely would love to replay them again so will be getting this.
Why the frick is Origins never included in any of these collections? It never got remastered, either. It's backwards compatible on Xbox, but you need the disc to play it because it's unavailable on the digital store. Bugs the shit out of me.
The only thing I can think is because was made by Warner Brothers and not by rocksteady.
Because porting or remastering Origins is something that people actually want, so of course we can't have that. Plus it would actually take effort.
And yet still no team fortress 2 on switch
It's being ported by the same devs who ported Borderlands 2 to Switch so that's reassuring.
I really hope they're better than the devs who ported it to Vita.
Arkham Knight is an UE3 game not using any kind of fancy demanding tech and you can clearly see the reduced image quality in the trailer.
it's custom 3.5 code actually, b***h.
Origins is probably spaghetti code, it was hacked ontop of City without the source.
Switch only players can now enjoy this masterpiece of a trilogy
Ive come to appreciate the Batmobile alot more after playing the garbage-dump sections of MJ and Miles in Spiderman.

>Pozzed Batman bombs
>Endless remakes
It kind of says something about diversity, doesn't it?
Wait, AK is not cloud version??
No. All native.
That would be The Witcher 3 level of a miracle if it's at least playable
If they got Witcher 3 to run on the thing, this game will run too. It will be the objectively worst version though.
Arkham Knight ran on my shitty AMD FX 4300+GT 1030 PC at 30 FPS/Medium-Low Quality 1080p, of course it can run on the fricking Switch. Rocksteady games are incredibly optimized
doesnt the game require 16 gigs of ram on PC
No

Arkham Asylum is 14 years old
I would kill for a Harley-themed Manhunt-like game like this.
