Yes, also buy origins, a prequel before asylum but I would play it after city, you will have a hard time going backwards in game play

It's been so long since I played them but these games were such a huge part of my teens. They're all good but the story gets progressively worse. Somehow they're also the only games with standard open-world elements like towers and collectibles and shit that I ever enjoyed, probably because the combat was so fun, along with how immersive the games are.
Also I never got the hate for the combat actually, the argument was that "oh you can just press a single button and win every engagement" but that's clearly not true on the harder difficulties AND it's similar to DMC in that you rack up points and multipliers for doing cool shit.
They're also arguably some of the best ever daptations of a comic series ever, almost up there with Batman TAS and the Timmverse stuff. Made with lots of love and passion.

Yes, i've been replaying them myself after the whole Suicide Squad shitstorm, Asylum and City absolutely holds up, working my way through Origins now for the first time, not sure how i feel about the changes they made for it, especially in regards to upgrades, but still having a good time
I'm dreading getting to Knight a little, remember being really disappointed by it back when i played on launch and haven't touched since, but also a little optimistic since i tend to enjoy some games better after i know what their deal is

9 bucks? For all of that?
Holy shit what a steal, if I didn’t pirate those already I’d say it’s the best 9 bucks I ever spent since Killing Floor

It is a steal, but a few months ago you could get all of them in pack of 10 big games for $10 in WB's humble bundle. God I love PC gayming.

Mother fricker, every time I buy a game it ends up going on sale for a lower price. Frick you game gods, why do you hate me.

its a steal but the bundles a scam lol
it forces you to buy arkham knight and its season pass separately instead of the premium edition which is cheaper

The bundle knocks the price to over 50% off. You'd lose more money buying the premium edition separately as it gets knocked down to $4.5 in the bundle instead of $8.

I want to do a full play through of them all. Do I start with origins?

      No, Asylum and City first

No. Always go in order of release for gameplay reasons at least, Asylum may feel somewhat primitive after. I also remember Origins having a bunch of tie-in shit with City but I may be bullshitting.

Origins is canon in name only. It's pretty good, but the reason most people hate it is because it's basically just a repeat of City with a very different story. Play Asylum > City > Knight, then check out Origins if you want, but know that it can be easy to burn out on riddler trophies and the like.

idk if it includes arkham city but it's one of the best games i've ever played. hated it on keyboard mouse though so only do it if you have a controller

Yeah, playing the first game made me a Batman fan back when I knew nothing about the character.

    >9 dollars for 3 games
Is this seriously an amount of money that you're so worried about losing that you have to make a thread about it? These games have been out for a long time and there's no way you don't know what their reputation is, just buy them and try them out for yourself.

All the main Arkham games except Origins is great. If you do pick up Origins, just be aware to not get the shitty mobile game version.
Asylum and City are tied, the former is more of a metroidvania while the latter is more open world. Knight is unfortunately is too bloated especially with the addition of batmobile, a certain mechanic in stealth completely trivializes it as well but the combat is still top notch.
Problem with origins is that it doesn't have the same level of quality the other games do.

Asylum and City are pretty good. Everything else is mid/garbage.

Knight isn't that good. The buggy PC version at launch was a blessing for the game because no one was discussing it's real problems until a while later.
