I don't know who is the best option for the free 5* op pick up, I choose specter and I don't stop regret it because her second skill after promoting make her immortal for at least 10 without upgrades, really saved my skin in some levels.
Is Hoshi gonna be worth investing in now that she's getting a module? Her S2 was pretty good for this CC actually but people still feel she's inferior to Mudrock.
It's weird how Nightingale went from an okay 6* to a super useful tech option for a significant portion of stages with any difficulty, and sometimes a mandatory piece for strategies due to how widespread big arts damage is now.
Yeah, I remember starting the game and she being one of my first 6*, people told me she was niche and that there are better healing options, disregarding the res since it was soo niche, but her usefulness has just increase as time went on, to the point she no longer feels niche, its more, Shinning feels more niche now since many ops can tank physical damage, with only extremes or trying to use an specific unit that may be not as good as tanking that would require shinning.
I was probably one of those people telling you that, since I also started with her (Exu, Shining, NG) and found both the healers to be replaceable for a good chunk of the content. But now Nightingale is the only thing standing between me and getting nuked by Candle Knight. Shining's Def boost is fine, but when it comes to phys bosses now they tend to hit so hard/fast that it doesn't matter how much Def you have, unless you're Eunectes, Mudrock, Nian, Blaze, or Specter, you're not surviving more than one punch from that boss.
I feel Eunectes is quite underrated because she can only block 1 unit normally, but damn, she tends to be my answer to bosses most of the time, even Mudrock sometimes fall short because of the inability to be healed.
Mudrock isn't meant to be an answer to bosses. She can sometimes tank them well if they don't atk fast or have dot effects or generally lower output, but her total damage on her s3 is too low to be an answer alone.
Feels weird how they gave her just so many tools as compared to Shining.
Range expansion, phantoms, evasion, hell, she even mas a module now, and then Shining as what? A small atkspd increase.
Year 1 there just wasn't enough arts threat the warrant her over killing faster, but everyone kinda knew she invalidated arts damage, and that her phantoms were useful outside of arts damage.
Yeah Shining's gotten left behind as of late simply because of how she can't really even do her gimmick on difficult stages anymore, making her only role into anti-Aak friendly fire buffing. I don't think a module can fix her. Probably going to have to get some busted as frick Guard alt if Nearl's anything to go by.
I wouldn't say she's been left behind, she's kinda been as useful as she's always been, but her niche isn't nearly as important as Nightingale, and she's not quite as effective at it. Her only real upside compared to Nightingale is that phys is "more common."
I used her recently to help Eunectes casually tank those beefy invisible croc warriors.
It's not a fluke she's been featured in 2 max risk CCs, she's good when the situation calls for it.
In the recent daily? I figured Eunectes could do it without a buff, huh. I wouldn't say she's GOOD though, no one gives a shit about poor Bibeak outside of Lead Seal's max risk, and Bubble can be subbed in for cheesing the current CC in some non-max clears (i.e. no health up buff for enemies), but she's not one people would use over Cuora or Hoshi.
I would say Shining is the exact embodiment of "niche" now since she's so replaceable 99% of the time, but has some good showings in some CCs.
Phys Bosses and other strong Elite enemies have just gotten so brutally strong that her job has changed from "keep middling bulk alive" to "jack up your best tank and pray they can eat 3+ hits" overall. I think the devs have overcompensated for Phys being more commonly tankable due to units all having Def.

At risk 15? Eunectes definitely can't do shit without multiple healing sources.
Shining was used for Blade and Lead Seal, and in the fewest op clear, those are very much valid positions to be in.
And the issue with tanking phys is that when the atk gets high it gets really fricking unreasonable, whereas arts no matter how high it gets, Nightingale will slice a percentage off. Unless there's res ignore. Like with CC5 bosses the Hammer just hits so much harder.

I've overestimated Eunectes then, bummer. Figured she was one of the best at it.
I'm certainly not saying that Shining's use there was not valid or that she could be replaced, just that I would consider that more of a qualification as a niche unit, sort of like say, idk, Manticore. Great when the situation specifically needs her, replaceable or average otherwise. Not a dogshit unit like Flamebringer or anything, not forgettably mediocre like Chiave (outside of Therm cheese) but not "good" like Thorns or Eyja.
Anyway, yeah. It's just ridiculous at this point, and is starting to just beg the question of why not make this punch an instant kill if it connects with a non-shielded enemy? It's definitely the intention. You have to sacrifice multiple units just to make a 3000-4000 HP tank live through two hits from it. Meanwhile with arts you can scrape by with no-mastery NG in 99% of cases unless there's something like those Grudgebearers buffed up with an anti-res risk.

Here's those crocs at max risk. 1.33 atkspd on a hard hitting enemy is simply insane, most defenders would crumple in 3 hits or less, considering hp down 2 as well.
Once her skill was up she pretty casually tanked 2 of them tho, albeit still under Skadiva and Shining (without skill up), but Saria never spent an s1 heal on her.

Me, I'm trying to decide if anyone is worth the $30ish for the 6* selector they're going to be selling during Stultifera Navis. I have everyone in its pool except Hoshiguma, Mostima, Blaze, Aak, Archetto, Saga, Carnelian, Saileach, and Fartooth. I feel like Blaze might be worth it but if so she's probably the last one to bother with a selector for.
You'd want to go for Saileach out of those. Unless Blaze gets a module I don't see her doing anything that another guard/laneholder can't do better.
Aak and Saga have access to pretty unique utility as well.
Wouldn't say any of those are worth 30, but I'm also an f2p so perspective is skewed. But if you're only missing a couple your account is probably well off to get by with whatever.

I'm honestly not sure about it being worth thirty either but I usually justify it to myself as Arknights having held my interest long enough that it's kept me from spending way more picking up other games. I haven't been a whale exactly but I do keep the monthly card going and occasionally pick up monthly headhunting packs for limited operators and a one-off pack or two during the big limited events. I only started during Walk in the Dust last year but I have stupid gacha luck so my high end roster is more fleshed out than one might expect shy of doing genuine whaling. I had nine 6* ops on my roster before the gacha gave me my first Cardigan, and I'm pretty sure that's all from before Dossoles when I only had the card.
Getting all that shit promoted and built is another story though.
Blaze is still a great unit, and the 2 range AoE comes into play more often than you'd think (e.g. in the new Annihilation, where it lets her hold the central area and kill Mandragora's first form without expending any pillars).
But yeah Saileach is probably the best one of the ticket, then Saga. I wouldn't recommend Aak, unique as he is. He's more of a unit for if you need to do some ultra specific max risk CC strategy that his buff is critical for, or if you love gimmick clears where you hyperbuff/debuff using a team constructed to help one unit.
Since they were past welfare ops you'll have to wait for their events to hit record restore, Rewinding Breeze and Mansfield Break respectively. To my knowledge neither has come out in CN yet so you'll be waiting more than six months on them. If you can tell us why you're interested in them in particular maybe we can recommend folks who can do some similar stuff.

That's fair. At least it's easy to find a support Robin (hopefully with the skill you want), but Mint is a little trickier. Also it's a 6* so she may not be the easiest to get but Dorothy will be out in a few months and she's similar to Robin but her kit basically lets you play Bomberman. You might enjoy that.
While I don't have high hope for it, this is one of the rare case when the anime would benefit greatly from trimming off 70% of the bloat script from the original source.

It sure can be. One run was set up just like that and I opted for the emergency version of something I normally shy away from instead (probably one drone map or another) and found out that Goldenglow and Thorns trivialize it.
My easiest clears have been high ASPD with Thorns and GG since they ruin everything before it can get close. Pic related, probably the easiest clear I've had. Not even Phantom made it out of the dipshit go round, he dropped in the same square Thorns is pictured attacking.

If I understand what you're saying, yes, you have to END the run either through victory or failure, you can't just see the three dialogue recordings and abandon or leave it sitting until it expires.
From what I understand when they finish adding IS2 content they either open it up so you can revisit all old monthly squads or they at least plan to make it available at some point.

I just got home and checked in IS2 and it actually saved my progress on the Chiave Gang challenge, letting me complete it (failed spectacularly on Phantom as usual, I suck) and it gave me the completion rewards as well as the story records.

You have to beat the game once.
Then you have to get the alternative ending (where Ceobe appears to wake up, but it's revealed she's still on shrooms and she's not sober yet), which has a series of 3 almost arbitrary conditions (e.g. lose 3 HP in a specific rare optional fight) which net you the artifacts to unlock the frozen monstrosity boss.
Then, after clearing that, you need to get 2 random events and get two specific artifacts, the Heavy Metal Chest and the Hand Gun, then pick the Black Key from beating one of the minibosses.
Upon doing so it will unlock a secret area where you will fight Gravestone at the end, and obtain the secret ending (wherein Ceobe never awakens. She dies alone in the wilderness amidst her dreams, her corpse rotting away and being absorbed into the earth).

Because when the event was released, it already showed the canon ending was the good ending, which coincided with Great Chief Gavial (Eunectes event) as she appeared there again in a story tie-in.
Fungimist was essentially a side story for a side story event.
With each ending, Ceobe goes further into the forest and deeper into the hallucinations from the fungi she consumed. With the first, she wakes up. With the second, she doesn't. With the third, she overdoses and dies.

Ceobe is a special case where she showed up loaded with weapons and made friends with Vulcan immediately. I believe it's detailed in one of the mini events, the blue and white one I can't remember the name of. She basically just arrived and joined, and they let her because she was both skilled and would die if she did not, as she was infected and incapable of accessing any medical treatment without Rhodes.

newbro here. looking for tips on who i should be working on building to progress my account and also what to do for my first e2. i've been using the fang gang for everything up until now and while that's been fun and all it's about time for me to work on moving up in the world. i guess ling and silver ash are the obvious choices for e2?

Silverash is good and will carry as well, but Ling is the best.
Other good ones there are Ptilopsis, Red, Gravel, and at least one of each shift unit (e.g. Cliffheart and Shaw).
Amiya will have to be E2'd later on to progress in the story, but don't prioritize her.
All the 6*s are worth building but they take a lot of mats. If you just want to build someone quickly so you can borrow other people's E2 ops then Jaye, Arene, Cuora, Perfumer and Beanstalk/Vigna/Scav/Courier are good candidates. May is also useful if you don't mind her character.
My eyes are crossing from pissing away my entire evening knocking out maps so I can't look at that too closely right now, but if you have Myrtle (or if you don't, once you do) she's a popular choice for an early e2 because she never won't be useful and she's inexpensive to promote since she's a 4*. That would give you cheap and early access to people's e2 support ops, and her s1 is also cheap to master eventually letting you pop it almost immediately once you pick up gaypipe.

It's been a while since I've gotten a top op tag but I've had silly luck most of my time playing. I had nine 6* ops (including a couple with dupes) before I pulled fricking Cardigan, got my celebration banner 6* in three pulls, got three new 6* ops in 25 pulls between the Fiammetta banner and the last standard, and have about 400 pulls ready so I can get my butthole raped trying to get Horn and whoever else I was planning to get in the coming months.

Then i would suggest to rise one of each archetype. And of course don't forget that operators that you enjoy using and/or like how they look are always the most important
Kal'tsit was always known to be some sort of unaging, superpowered, unusual being.
This is not because of her plot importance, but rather because she is actually the lead dev's OC from back when he was a pixiv artist.
Again, dev's OC. She's his baby, she's effectively immortal and broken as frick to boot. Might as well make her ACTUALLY immortal in-setting to give a thematic reason for it too. If you think they'd kill her off for good then you're out of your fricking mind my man.
Anyway, it's also partially there to establish that the supernatural, nigh-immortal beings aren't super unusual in a world where you have 12 foot tall demon races that live hundreds (if not thousands were they not susceptible to the most common disease in-setting) of years, actual gods and goddesses that walk among people casually like there's nothing to it (those pop stars from the first summer event are all avatars of some alien sea god in hiding for example), and a major, if not main, villain who is a body-hopping immortal mind parasite. You have soldiers who live with fragments of slain but not dead elder gods stuffed into their equipment so they can keep the other ones contained in the frozen wastes, and old mysterious birds who seem to die then always turn up alive later. You have the demon ruler casually reviving the corpse of his sister so he can try and use her to frick with Amiya. One scientist cat with a terrifying monster she can pull out of her spine being able to dodge the effects of aging shouldn't even be a surprise.
And this is why it's dumb. I'm not even debating about what you write. Unkillable is dumb no matter how you sliced it. Death should be a thing. I already know about his oc and everything.

Death is a thing. The Emperor's Blade would have actually murdered her in the one cutscene if she didn't pull a "well I didn't attack BECAUSE" piece of plot out of her butt. She's unkillable more in the sense that she simply won't actually get killed off, not that she's immune to physical injury. Kal'tsit is a character that does not age, but like every single other "immortal" character, she can effectively be killed, same as the Sui fragment god characters or the alien sea god in hiding. But much like Nian, she won't be killed.
The only characters who seem legitimately immune to death or a death-like state are Sui himself and the Black Snake.

Respawners are the birds and Bison's dad, I haven't seen anything that suggests Kal'tsit would be that way and she does have a sense of self-preservation when facing incredibly powerful foes like the Blades so it would follow that she at least doesn't have the handwave that the birds have. Would have said the Rat King too but he talks like he'll be buried in Lungmen someday so he might actually just be immune to injury and very long-lived.

According to the wiki (so take it with a grain of salt because they have been wrong MANY times before), Kal'tsit uses ancient forgotten technology from fallen civilizations of Terra to "reincarnate" her consciousness into new bodies via Originium.
She's basically pulling the same bullshit as Kaschey and bodyhopping when her form expires, implying that the ruins of broken technology around the world are the remnants of a civilization that achieved the ability to make oneself effectively immortal by making physical bodies something you can replace.

NTA, but who the frick play gacha for the story anyway? Not to mention AK is known for its convoluted mess of story. Anyway, I do agree that unkillable is sorta bad. I'm fine with immunity to natural aging/death but if you chopped someone head off, they should be death instead of respawning with another body somewhere else.
It was okay, the story was drier than the dust it was named after but the stage gimmicks were fine and the boss was challenging, if not a bit ill-suited to the event.

Seeing the replies that anon got, it reminds me. I have 146,000 orundum, 3 10x tickets, and 5 singles is it enough to get all the upcoming limiteds? I haven't been paying attention to AK news at all so the only ones I know are coming are Gavial and Specter's 6* versions.
Almost certainly given that you'll have three months between Specter and Gavial. I have about 450 stored up and I know even if I get fricked over by Specter's banner I'd be missing out on a couple pretty skippable banners if I go into hardcore saving mode so I'm ready for Gavial.
Are there any other limiteds other than those two? I only roll for absolute favorites outside of limiteds and there hasn't been one for me since Pallas.
Nah, they run them every three months or so. We've got Specter at the end of this or beginning of next month, Gavial in late January (or whenever Dossoles ran), and we're about a week out from finding out what the next limited event is in China (so the one we'll get in April/May). Our timeline for new 6* ops post-Navis looks like this so far:
- a charge caster like Indigo, has some boss killing potential but it's a huge investment for someone you wouldn't normally use
- a trapmaster like Robin only with sort of a Bomberman gimmick. Great if you're into that, but a huge investment for something gimmicky
- Gavial (the only limited listed here) and Pozyomka (a sniper who's on par with and can potentially greatly exceed Schwarz)
- a liberator (Tequila's archetype) who seems to be an incredibly powerful pickup
- an artificer who just came out alongside chapter 11 so I'm withholding judgment until I see how people use him once the novelty wears off
I see. Well I'll just go for those two then, no need for any of the others I can see there. I have enough 6*s at this point that unless a new one is a legitimate game breaker like Ling or a helidrop killer like Radiant Nearl then they won't make a huge impact for me.
Granted I rolled Ling because I love all the NY units so far though.
She's a shoe-in for one given her background. Probably a nuker guard with a single wide blast strike sort of like Ch'en given her supposed propensity for wiping out a horde of enemies before a man could even open his eyes.
What other ones could be likely candidates? Any others hiding something?

Aside from rookies character developing their skills, I guess we could have characters that have interest that nkt exactly align with their class, like Blemishine becoming a summoner or artificer given she has a interest on engineering, same for Eunectes if she develops her own robot army. Haze criminal past could work as a specialist of some sort, the bear students could also get alters showing their growt on rhodes and if they changed combat roles as they develop themselves on rhodes, I could see Zima becoming a guard or defender, Istina a caster, Gummy going full cannibal and being some kind of bloodsteal dreadnought guard

I was meaning more like an alternative timeline, where lets say Hoshiguma never joined the LGD and became a crime overlord, or Ifrit turned completely unhinged. Kinda in the way Skadiva works, a different "what if" timeline. I dont know enough lore, but another example could be, idk, Melantha kills by mistake an innocent and she never uses a sword again, turning into a sniper? Some shit like that could be for future alters

I think Saria is actually the most likely after Shining. She's shown to be able to control her calcification arts in offensive ways too from the Mansfield event, and she just refrains from it because of her personality.

I think many hated the alter as a concept but where ok when the first one was Lava after some years with training but many were angry with Chen alter before her kit was show because many felt it was just a skin as unit instead of showing something different from the character, if they keep the trend of alters being proper different versions of characters, like the rookies growing or cases like Nearl and Gavial that their own bios say they have great fighting abilities but choose an more defensive/support role and the alter is them taking that offensive role for a change, its nice and show more and develops the character in a way than, lets say, the next alter being something like christmas Suzuran with nothing to show as character

Nearl (dunno about Gavial) also functioned as the semi-conclusive piece of character story stuff for a whole setting's worth of plot, and brought in elements from the previous Nearl event about Blemi, where Nearl was shown to still be in her prime fight-wise. Similarly, Specter's alt, and consequently the event it was made for, solved huge mysteries about the character and also actually did one of the only things that Arknights has struggled with doling out greatly: It healed her, curing both her mental and physical illnesses. Very, very few other examples of this have happened in-setting, so her alt effectively "solves" the character and gives her a happy ending (although of course the Deep Ones story is far from over, what with the Isharm-la and popstar alien gods and all that shit).
Personally I have no issue with swimsuit Ch'en other than her face looking off and her L2D animation being kind of shitty compared to units like Nian. Thus I leave her with her base art.

Well no, a phys unit whose gimmick is meant for taking on multiple foes at once on different areas will not defeat a bulky defensive boss that can oneshot him. Phantom can handle that ugly little split-sided boss in IS3 better than her since it needs both halves to be killed simultaneously.
Different roles, although overall I think she's still more useful it doesn't make him bad or anything.

This is general advice rather than anything specific but don't neglect your 3* ops. They're nothing flashy but they're MUCH cheaper to build than higher rarity options. Since you're still early in and resources are still scarce across the board you're going to see your sanity and resources stretch much farther getting e1 max and sl7 on them, and it's an investment that will pay off much better in the long run if you're thinking about staying f2p for as long as possible. Even the 2* units are useful at times later on
Also with the event coming up it's probably worth pointing out that event stages always have the same sanity/event currency rate (unless I'm forgetting something, someone please correct me if I'm wrong) so it's a great use of your sanity to farm those even if you can't get at the later stages and buy out the experience and LMD from the shop so you can keep developing your roster
H10-2 gave me a harder time than 1 or 3 but they were all easier than I expected, or at least it felt that way since encourage let me frick around freely..

Need some advice lads, I got Specter Alter at pot3 after saving 100k orundums and nearly 100 POs, I even cleared the tickets in yellow cert shop. I am about to reach 300 rolls for the spark. Should I get Skalter or improve on Specter? The part of me that wants to dedicate even more to Specter wants me to raise her potential, while the other part of me that wants to collect all the Abyssal Hunters wants to get Skalter.
Skadi is broken though, I got Specter but I'm not raising her anytime soon, if you go full waifu mode then do it, I guess?
keep in mind - you still can get 1 pot for her in IS2.
Get the new unit, it'll be a lot more fun to have than just an extra little smattering of atk on specky.

Mountain is not a limited character but he’s only available through headhunting so you’re more or less going to have to reroll for him but it might take some time since currently there isn’t a banner where he is a rate up character.

Yeah, just play and save your gold cert until March 2023. His shop operator day is also his rate up banner day. If you have the 180 cert by then which you should have if you saved it, you can buy him directly then.

Yeah, I think it's called that? The second one with gold color in shop where you can buy operator (currently Surtr). You are a newcutie right? You should be able earn a lot of cert from doing all annihilation and some other task for newbie. Use recruitment permit for 4*/5* too daily. Look for the tag that guarantee 4*/5* in Google. I think it should be enough by March. If not then yeah you might need to roll using Orundum. If your target is purely Mountain then it doesn't matter if your Orundum is 0 by then as long as you have 180 certs.
Haze is so-so. Didn't really use her myself. Steward is good caster for low star. Click for 4* caster. Btw the current banner is OP(Surtr and Mudrock) if you want to reroll. Of course Irene and Spalter are good too. So yeah, if you just starting today you might want to consider reroll for those and build up your 180 certs.

While Distinctions are typically earned from obtaining an Operator for the first time you can get more from getting the same 5 or 6 star Operator getting five or ten distinctions respectively. However you can get Distinctions from 4 star Operator Tokens which you get from getting duplicates of the same Operator after their potential is maxed out then you can trade those in for 1 Distinction. The Recruitment section where you can use Recruitment Permits to get Operators without using Orundum And using certain Tags you could get four star Operators easily. For Example the Fast Redeploy tag will give you Gravel. Survival and Sniper gives you Jessica. Sniper and Debuff can give you Meteor. However sometimes the Tags won’t stay it just happens but the longer you set the recruitment timer for the more likely the selected Tags will stay.

It won't be difficult, but it will take roughly a year for him, and that's with everything he has stored up plus the free pulls we get from the event. I do agree that whaling is his best bet though.
The event will give you a tenfold permit and 14 single rolls and combine that with your 25 saved rolls you need to save 251 rolls but Even then if you get all the Orundum and Permits from the green cert shop, do you’re weeklies, do past events and don’t roll at all from now till then you’re still probably going to be shy of what you need. If you want to try everything you can but don’t want to be a whale/dolphin you can do a bit of Orundum farming.
Okay so I managed to get up to 30,000 Orundum from past events and Orundum grinding then add 19 HHP so I currently have 69 rolls (nice). This is not counting today’s mission, login rewards or the stuff from the commendation shop. If I counted right when you add the free rolls I need to save 207 more for the Texas banner. you gonna need at least 150 pulls anon. usually for limited banner drop 2 of them at 150~ pulls but for safe measure you should save 300 pulls. i saved up around 250 pulls right now.

My guess is that guides are considered "cheating" in some way because you are not playing the game in the intended way, mostly, eliminating the whole "fun" of not solving shit yourself, like trying to play puzzle games and using guided all the way, or some mysteries game and no bothering resolving the clues and hints, like, what bother playing a game if you are not going to even put some modicum effort in actually playing the game.

you can do some light reading on the mechanics, then faceroll the event with basic countermeasures

i legit don't know how people need hours of time and error for normal stages, you can throw at the stage any random bullshit assortment of properly raised 6*s and 5*s and still clear the stage first or second try if your team makes some sort of sense (like it not being 12 medics or some shit)
the only EX stage that is difficult on any given event is always the boss stage, but even that is not THAT difficult + EX stages don't have story

As a player who got back for this event and is only at lv30 now, I'm happy I reached SN10. SN-9 was a shit. Everyone told me this was the best time to play again (I had this acc since day 1 but never played for real) but at the same time the worst because of this event, they weren't lying. Once the event ends, I'll make my Gitano E2 so I can finally borrow E2 from friends..
I read a lot of LNs and my complaint with all of their anime adaptation is that they don't nail the atmosphere at all, and they feels really low effort.
For all the complaints about the anime, they absolutely nailed the atmosphere and feel of the world, it's better than it was in my imagination when reading the in-game cutscenes honestly.
Even if you're new, because it very much is.
There's not much fanfare because it's a rerun, there's no banner, the only new skin is for the welfare, and the shop is meh.
300 rolls should guarantee pozy and gavial unless you're really unlucky, by force (spark) if necessary.
Same with texas, an extra 300 rolls should guarantee her and penance.
For Mlynar that's when it gets tricky, there's no real guarantee for non-limited banners, it could take you a single 10 roll, it could take you a thousand and still not get him, but on average you should get him around 150 rolls with average luck.
all you need is 4 rolls, it's all luck
300 on a limited banner will at least guarantee the rate up through spark, so if you want pozy and texas that's 600 rolls on an absolute worst case scenario
on average it will get you 100 rolls on a standard, 150 on a limited to get what you want
you could get them with less, you could need more, it's all luck
Calculating rolls is hard.
First of all, never roll in any banner with less than 60 rolls on hand, that's how much it takes to get a hard pity 6* even as a lucklet (most people get it around 50 rolls).
But this just means you get a 6*, rate up is another matter.
This means you will want 120 rolls when going into any banner for at least 2 tries.
However given the rates are decent, you may get the rate up 6* before even hitting 60 rolls.
But because rate up is still down to chance, you may not get them even after dumping 250 rolls into the banner.
It's tricky, try to not plan for more than 2 ops at once as a f2p, if you get lucky then that's great, if not then at least you got what you planned for.
It looks like there's still no skip button to farming stages - that's basically the reason I quit. Oh well. I'll enjoy the castle thing and then go to some other game.
I can't even enjoy the rogue-like because bizarrely it still relies on maxing out your roster. What a shame. Leveling is the least fun aspect of this game, in fact it's the opposite of fun and the opposite of "playing the game" where you literally don't play in order to auto a mission - I would consider this aspect an active detriment to the enjoyment of the game and a strong push factor for people to quit.
I hope a rival company steals the castle idea and makes a standalone rogue-like TD that does away with senseless forced autoplay in order to progress. Why can't they just accept its a dumb idea? After so long why are they so stubborn? They deserve to die if a sensible rival company can be bothered to cash in on the mistakes of this one.

Sounds pretty easy even without irene or GG so I really don't know why are people freaking out when they can't even accurately describe the game mode.
the mode is easy if there is no fricking def buff and health buff stacking like crazy the longer you clear it. At CN early SSS the enemy def could stack to 4k, 6k ATK and 300% HP EACH ENEMY .
It’s not too difficult to clear if you have good arts damage, and stack your team properly. There’s some randomness in being able to get the right characters for stacking, but you have unlimited retries for each stage.
Sounds about right. I'm working on finishing getting the grindstones I need currently, then I'm gonna give SSS a try laterish. Or maybe tomorrow. Seems like it's another perfect kind of thing to do at work for me.

This is likely my last big batch of 6*s unless I get really lucky on Galter's banner. I'm saving so I can spark Chalter there and whatever else I get is a bonus I feel.
I'm honestly not really worried about CC anymore. 9 was annoying just because of the enemies. I still cleared r18 week 1 even if I was lazy as frick about it.
I feel like my next goal after this batch of ops is to just E2 all the 4*s and maybe do some mastery on them, but I won't bother with the spreadsheet there.
I want to be able to easily casually frick around in IS2 and whatnot at work which is why the 4*s too.
CC is artificial difficulty so it's hard to really take it seriously or care about it as a measure of operator power.
Believe it or not the game is tightly balanced around the letter ranks, S tier defense is around 1500 DEF and up, A being around 1200, and so on.
This means something as small as +20% to enemy defense can completely screw over any physical damage dealer in the game short of silverash and mlynar that do all their damage on few damage instances compared to say, exu who has to suffer defense reduction 5 times per attack.
And I will remind you depending on the CC and due to how buffs stack, enemy defense can go anywhere from +150% to +500% depending on the map.
it's not about op power it's just that CC is the only thing that needs hyperoptimizing unless you gun for isharm-la on a high number run in IS3, otherwise everythings just doable with e2 no masteries

This but with Siege, strong cheap lane holder that generates decent amounts of dp, I know people only talk about vanguards in regards of dp generation, but I really love a dependable early and sometimes beyond that lane holder
Blemi is an awful healer defender, her kits is all over the place and is only worth to use if you want to try the sleep rape meme. If you have to raise an actual healer defender just go for Saria.
They are weird because they are the middle ground between a true protector and a medic.
Unlike a medic, they have better burst healing, but far worse consistent sustain.
This burst healing comes in two forms, either one big relatively spammable heal (usually their S1s) or a mode where they constantly heal a decent amount (usually their S2/S3s).
They are barely any tankier than tanky guards when push comes to shove, so they are hardly a replacement for a protector, but they can block 3, and their tankiness is enough for a lot of elites if they are E2 70+.
Another benefit is that they use ground tiles and can block instead of being limited to ranged tiles, in fact a 1-2 block guard with a healing defender behind them is optimal in a lot of cases.
Blemi is weird because she's a mix between a guard and a healing defender, to the point of being a guard that just so happens to heal others.
Her S1 is a power strike that happens to heal, her S2 while not that good outside sleep teams is widely used because they saw it on CC once, her S3 is her main skill but it doesn't heal herself because she's a martyr.
The downside of her S3 is not as bad as it sounds when healing defenders are a supplement to medics, not a replacement, thinking they are a replacement is the reason a lot of people find content more difficult than it really is. And before anyone complains about her not defending as a medic, the original hanzi for "defender" is pretty much just "heavy unit" rather than specifically defender.
This is about how I use my Saria most of the time.
Her S2 has pretty crazy range and is generally good enough in most content to replace a healer.
I know when you only had the three original annis I managed to make her solo heal the entire thing (with one self regen unit at the bottom).
They work well when you can focus all the damage on one unit (s1) if it's heavy or if it's light you can get away with s2 if it's spread across multiple units.
It "works" in meta teams because those revolve around overkilling everything before it gets into damaging range, so you only ever have to worry about chip damage from stray crossbowmen, and even then those teams fold if two waves of elites come too close to each other or a tanky elite soaks up thorns/GG shots.
Want Blemi go for her. want chep hd, go for gummy, want more? go for Nearl or Saria, Saria is better but maybe Nearl tickles your pickle more, choose whoever

i wouldn't say i liked the new mode but it's more content so i got little complaints
but after spending so much time on high risk, IS calamity, then SSS, going back to actually clearing lingering echoes felt weird, every single enemy was made of paper and 2-3 of my units cleared the maps on their own
not even meta stuff either, just randos like estelle and franka
the stages give you so much time to set up that you have more than enough time to juggle your draw engine until you get what you want and then some
the last stage is a joke, particularly the iron carrot one, the only threat is crownslayer and you can just leak her
the only annoying one is the boats stage but even then the boats run around for so long it hardly matters
I dunno. To do a 8 run without failing at all in a single run with all the rng with 28 operators is too hard. You are a beast and I'm dumb. I dunno what to say.
It's not that it's hard but more that you do need to be quite lucky and a skill in choosing your deck. Also a LOT OF TIME to reach stage 8 all over again in case you failed a run.
I'm enjoying the mode but I keep struggling hard on the last couple of stages of Iron Carrot currently.
But as it turns out not being able to sleep is somehow the answer.
I can't see myself going to 8 each time but overall I do like this mode so far.
the boss is a joke as long as you don't press the draw button to get extra ops on your hand, because doing so has a chance to stun you if you draw a heat cluster, which is the only real threat
if you can deal with the zerg rush the slug itself is a joke, you can even leak crownslayer no problem
The zerg rushing is actually what was getting me most of the time.
I ended up winning by stacking vangaurd upgrades onto Mudrock and guard on Blaze which gave me enough blocking and aoe to deal with the tons of enemies.
I can't see myself reseting after stage 3 either honestly. Stage one to six were pretty free with a good deck and goldenglow.
I also got my Kal to m6 so I'm very pleased. Skalter is getting S2 to m3 right now then I think I'm going to either work on Saga or Phantom next.

Gavial2 is not good, with S3 she only barely scratches the 2000 DEF mark, which means she's not going to be doing a lot of damage to 1500 DEF either, and in fact that ATK steroid is barely on par with specter1's S2.
With her attack speed steroid she's too specialized in killing trash when that dies to pretty much anything to begin with, S2 is not that much better when it makes her a poor man's liberator.
Pozy is fine if a bit finicky due to needing a second ranged tile to deploy the typewriter, when she's good she's good, when she can't use her typewriter she's a bit meh but not terrible.
Those are good points, I hadn't thought about that. Gav being more of a burst guard doesn't do a TON of good for me since I have enough of a roster that I can just drop a sweeper if I needed more damage than I could expect from Blaze. My Schwarz is also very built so I may not need what Pozy brings to the table

There's zero reason to NOT get her if you're already set for life with a roster like that. At that point you literally have almost everything completely covered by 6*s alone, legitimately I don't see why you'd feel the need to optimize pulling for broken shit outside of maybe Goldenglow at that point. Wet Ch'en is a good unit and she's wet.

It's weird how Nightingale went from an okay 6* to a super useful tech option for a significant portion of stages with any difficulty, and sometimes a mandatory piece for strategies due to how widespread big arts damage is now.
Yeah, I remember starting the game and she being one of my first 6*, people told me she was niche and that there are better healing options, disregarding the res since it was soo niche, but her usefulness has just increase as time went on, to the point she no longer feels niche, its more, Shinning feels more niche now since many ops can tank physical damage, with only extremes or trying to use an specific unit that may be not as good as tanking that would require shinning.
I was probably one of those people telling you that, since I also started with her (Exu, Shining, NG) and found both the healers to be replaceable for a good chunk of the content. But now Nightingale is the only thing standing between me and getting nuked by Candle Knight. Shining's Def boost is fine, but when it comes to phys bosses now they tend to hit so hard/fast that it doesn't matter how much Def you have, unless you're Eunectes, Mudrock, Nian, Blaze, or Specter, you're not surviving more than one punch from that boss.
I feel Eunectes is quite underrated because she can only block 1 unit normally, but damn, she tends to be my answer to bosses most of the time, even Mudrock sometimes fall short because of the inability to be healed.
Mudrock isn't meant to be an answer to bosses. She can sometimes tank them well if they don't atk fast or have dot effects or generally lower output, but her total damage on her s3 is too low to be an answer alone.
Feels weird how they gave her just so many tools as compared to Shining.
Range expansion, phantoms, evasion, hell, she even mas a module now, and then Shining as what? A small atkspd increase.
Year 1 there just wasn't enough arts threat the warrant her over killing faster, but everyone kinda knew she invalidated arts damage, and that her phantoms were useful outside of arts damage.
Yeah Shining's gotten left behind as of late simply because of how she can't really even do her gimmick on difficult stages anymore, making her only role into anti-Aak friendly fire buffing. I don't think a module can fix her. Probably going to have to get some busted as frick Guard alt if Nearl's anything to go by.
I wouldn't say she's been left behind, she's kinda been as useful as she's always been, but her niche isn't nearly as important as Nightingale, and she's not quite as effective at it. Her only real upside compared to Nightingale is that phys is "more common."
I used her recently to help Eunectes casually tank those beefy invisible croc warriors.
It's not a fluke she's been featured in 2 max risk CCs, she's good when the situation calls for it.
In the recent daily? I figured Eunectes could do it without a buff, huh. I wouldn't say she's GOOD though, no one gives a shit about poor Bibeak outside of Lead Seal's max risk, and Bubble can be subbed in for cheesing the current CC in some non-max clears (i.e. no health up buff for enemies), but she's not one people would use over Cuora or Hoshi.
I would say Shining is the exact embodiment of "niche" now since she's so replaceable 99% of the time, but has some good showings in some CCs.
Phys Bosses and other strong Elite enemies have just gotten so brutally strong that her job has changed from "keep middling bulk alive" to "jack up your best tank and pray they can eat 3+ hits" overall. I think the devs have overcompensated for Phys being more commonly tankable due to units all having Def.
At risk 15? Eunectes definitely can't do shit without multiple healing sources.
Shining was used for Blade and Lead Seal, and in the fewest op clear, those are very much valid positions to be in.
And the issue with tanking phys is that when the atk gets high it gets really fricking unreasonable, whereas arts no matter how high it gets, Nightingale will slice a percentage off. Unless there's res ignore. Like with CC5 bosses the Hammer just hits so much harder.
I've overestimated Eunectes then, bummer. Figured she was one of the best at it.
I'm certainly not saying that Shining's use there was not valid or that she could be replaced, just that I would consider that more of a qualification as a niche unit, sort of like say, idk, Manticore. Great when the situation specifically needs her, replaceable or average otherwise. Not a dogshit unit like Flamebringer or anything, not forgettably mediocre like Chiave (outside of Therm cheese) but not "good" like Thorns or Eyja.
Anyway, yeah. It's just ridiculous at this point, and is starting to just beg the question of why not make this punch an instant kill if it connects with a non-shielded enemy? It's definitely the intention. You have to sacrifice multiple units just to make a 3000-4000 HP tank live through two hits from it. Meanwhile with arts you can scrape by with no-mastery NG in 99% of cases unless there's something like those Grudgebearers buffed up with an anti-res risk.
Here's those crocs at max risk. 1.33 atkspd on a hard hitting enemy is simply insane, most defenders would crumple in 3 hits or less, considering hp down 2 as well.
Once her skill was up she pretty casually tanked 2 of them tho, albeit still under Skadiva and Shining (without skill up), but Saria never spent an s1 heal on her.

Me, I'm trying to decide if anyone is worth the $30ish for the 6* selector they're going to be selling during Stultifera Navis. I have everyone in its pool except Hoshiguma, Mostima, Blaze, Aak, Archetto, Saga, Carnelian, Saileach, and Fartooth. I feel like Blaze might be worth it but if so she's probably the last one to bother with a selector for.
You'd want to go for Saileach out of those. Unless Blaze gets a module I don't see her doing anything that another guard/laneholder can't do better.
Aak and Saga have access to pretty unique utility as well.
Wouldn't say any of those are worth 30, but I'm also an f2p so perspective is skewed. But if you're only missing a couple your account is probably well off to get by with whatever.

I'm honestly not sure about it being worth thirty either but I usually justify it to myself as Arknights having held my interest long enough that it's kept me from spending way more picking up other games. I haven't been a whale exactly but I do keep the monthly card going and occasionally pick up monthly headhunting packs for limited operators and a one-off pack or two during the big limited events. I only started during Walk in the Dust last year but I have stupid gacha luck so my high end roster is more fleshed out than one might expect shy of doing genuine whaling. I had nine 6* ops on my roster before the gacha gave me my first Cardigan, and I'm pretty sure that's all from before Dossoles when I only had the card.
Getting all that shit promoted and built is another story though.
Blaze is still a great unit, and the 2 range AoE comes into play more often than you'd think (e.g. in the new Annihilation, where it lets her hold the central area and kill Mandragora's first form without expending any pillars).
But yeah Saileach is probably the best one of the ticket, then Saga. I wouldn't recommend Aak, unique as he is. He's more of a unit for if you need to do some ultra specific max risk CC strategy that his buff is critical for, or if you love gimmick clears where you hyperbuff/debuff using a team constructed to help one unit.
How do I get Mint and Robin?
Since they were past welfare ops you'll have to wait for their events to hit record restore, Rewinding Breeze and Mansfield Break respectively. To my knowledge neither has come out in CN yet so you'll be waiting more than six months on them. If you can tell us why you're interested in them in particular maybe we can recommend folks who can do some similar stuff.
I was afraid of that. Honestly I just really like Mint's design and Robin just seemed interesting to use. I'm not one who goes for meta I use characters that I like or find interesting.
That's fair. At least it's easy to find a support Robin (hopefully with the skill you want), but Mint is a little trickier. Also it's a 6* so she may not be the easiest to get but Dorothy will be out in a few months and she's similar to Robin but her kit basically lets you play Bomberman. You might enjoy that.

It sure can be. One run was set up just like that and I opted for the emergency version of something I normally shy away from instead (probably one drone map or another) and found out that Goldenglow and Thorns trivialize it.
My easiest clears have been high ASPD with Thorns and GG since they ruin everything before it can get close. Pic related, probably the easiest clear I've had. Not even Phantom made it out of the dipshit go round, he dropped in the same square Thorns is pictured attacking.
That puppet boss? It fricking sucks. I've been playing IS2 regularly since it came out and it took until last weekend to get that stage in a run where I didn't somehow have zero healing whatsoever.

Is all about getting the right relics, the problem is, getting the right relics on any given run, like really, I just had another try at trying to do the big sad lock, and I was getting lots of arts and caster relics, and manage to het goldenglow, her S3 was wrecking everything, I even manage to do the 4 knights fight with incredible ease with Goldenglow doing most of 5h3 damage

If I understand what you're saying, yes, you have to END the run either through victory or failure, you can't just see the three dialogue recordings and abandon or leave it sitting until it expires.
From what I understand when they finish adding IS2 content they either open it up so you can revisit all old monthly squads or they at least plan to make it available at some point.

How to unlock it bro?
You have to beat the game once.
Then you have to get the alternative ending (where Ceobe appears to wake up, but it's revealed she's still on shrooms and she's not sober yet), which has a series of 3 almost arbitrary conditions (e.g. lose 3 HP in a specific rare optional fight) which net you the artifacts to unlock the frozen monstrosity boss.
Then, after clearing that, you need to get 2 random events and get two specific artifacts, the Heavy Metal Chest and the Hand Gun, then pick the Black Key from beating one of the minibosses.
Upon doing so it will unlock a secret area where you will fight Gravestone at the end, and obtain the secret ending (wherein Ceobe never awakens. She dies alone in the wilderness amidst her dreams, her corpse rotting away and being absorbed into the earth).
Man I don't remember having to go through too much bullshit to unlock notFrostnova and notSkullshatterer, though I never got to beat the second because I could only get to him once.
You might've just gotten the requirements done unintentionally, I got the Psychidelic Map while playing normally (one of the parts for getting to the ice boss) and never tried to get it.
The frick is that ending? And why is the bad ending the one harder to unlock?
Because when the event was released, it already showed the canon ending was the good ending, which coincided with Great Chief Gavial (Eunectes event) as she appeared there again in a story tie-in.
Fungimist was essentially a side story for a side story event.
With each ending, Ceobe goes further into the forest and deeper into the hallucinations from the fungi she consumed. With the first, she wakes up. With the second, she doesn't. With the third, she overdoses and dies.
That reminds me that fungimist is probably Ceobe remembering her wandering days while high, she really went through a lot.
Also the lobby theme of fungimist was the type of ambient jazz I love

Ceobe is a special case where she showed up loaded with weapons and made friends with Vulcan immediately. I believe it's detailed in one of the mini events, the blue and white one I can't remember the name of. She basically just arrived and joined, and they let her because she was both skilled and would die if she did not, as she was infected and incapable of accessing any medical treatment without Rhodes.
I know that, still, way to many morons with high oripaty that cod only worsen their condition are part of the combat wing.

newbro here. looking for tips on who i should be working on building to progress my account and also what to do for my first e2. i've been using the fang gang for everything up until now and while that's been fun and all it's about time for me to work on moving up in the world. i guess ling and silver ash are the obvious choices for e2?

Silverash is good and will carry as well, but Ling is the best.
Other good ones there are Ptilopsis, Red, Gravel, and at least one of each shift unit (e.g. Cliffheart and Shaw).
Amiya will have to be E2'd later on to progress in the story, but don't prioritize her.
All the 6*s are worth building but they take a lot of mats. If you just want to build someone quickly so you can borrow other people's E2 ops then Jaye, Arene, Cuora, Perfumer and Beanstalk/Vigna/Scav/Courier are good candidates. May is also useful if you don't mind her character.
My eyes are crossing from pissing away my entire evening knocking out maps so I can't look at that too closely right now, but if you have Myrtle (or if you don't, once you do) she's a popular choice for an early e2 because she never won't be useful and she's inexpensive to promote since she's a 4*. That would give you cheap and early access to people's e2 support ops, and her s1 is also cheap to master eventually letting you pop it almost immediately once you pick up gaypipe.
Congratulations friend, but sitting on nearly 700 recruitments like that pains me. I burned a couple hundred not long ago fishing for top op and shitty robot potentials.
I've been meaning to sit down and get rid of all of them since I'm also sitting on 178 instant recruitments but it keeps getting bigger as I grow more lazy

It's been a while since I've gotten a top op tag but I've had silly luck most of my time playing. I had nine 6* ops (including a couple with dupes) before I pulled fricking Cardigan, got my celebration banner 6* in three pulls, got three new 6* ops in 25 pulls between the Fiammetta banner and the last standard, and have about 400 pulls ready so I can get my butthole raped trying to get Horn and whoever else I was planning to get in the coming months.

If you e2m3 Ling and get a Myrtle, you've won the game. Silverash is also very strong, but Ling distinctly takes the e2 priority.
Ling first, then SA. Nearl is useful until you get Saria, Ptilopsis is one of the best medics, Red and Gravel are both must have for some stages, Red for damage and the stun and Gravel as a cheap meat shield. Then i would suggest to rise one of each archetype. And of course don't forget that operators that you enjoy using and/or like how they look are always the most important

Anyway, it's also partially there to establish that the supernatural, nigh-immortal beings aren't super unusual in a world where you have 12 foot tall demon races that live hundreds (if not thousands were they not susceptible to the most common disease in-setting) of years, actual gods and goddesses that walk among people casually like there's nothing to it (those pop stars from the first summer event are all avatars of some alien sea god in hiding for example), and a major, if not main, villain who is a body-hopping immortal mind parasite. You have soldiers who live with fragments of slain but not dead elder gods stuffed into their equipment so they can keep the other ones contained in the frozen wastes, and old mysterious birds who seem to die then always turn up alive later. You have the demon ruler casually reviving the corpse of his sister so he can try and use her to frick with Amiya. One scientist cat with a terrifying monster she can pull out of her spine being able to dodge the effects of aging shouldn't even be a surprise.
And this is why it's dumb. I'm not even debating about what you write. Unkillable is dumb no matter how you sliced it. Death should be a thing. I already know about his oc and everything.

Death is a thing. The Emperor's Blade would have actually murdered her in the one cutscene if she didn't pull a "well I didn't attack BECAUSE" piece of plot out of her butt. She's unkillable more in the sense that she simply won't actually get killed off, not that she's immune to physical injury. Kal'tsit is a character that does not age, but like every single other "immortal" character, she can effectively be killed, same as the Sui fragment god characters or the alien sea god in hiding. But much like Nian, she won't be killed.
The only characters who seem legitimately immune to death or a death-like state are Sui himself and the Black Snake.

Respawners are the birds and Bison's dad, I haven't seen anything that suggests Kal'tsit would be that way and she does have a sense of self-preservation when facing incredibly powerful foes like the Blades so it would follow that she at least doesn't have the handwave that the birds have. Would have said the Rat King too but he talks like he'll be buried in Lungmen someday so he might actually just be immune to injury and very long-lived.
According to the wiki (so take it with a grain of salt because they have been wrong MANY times before), Kal'tsit uses ancient forgotten technology from fallen civilizations of Terra to "reincarnate" her consciousness into new bodies via Originium.
She's basically pulling the same bullshit as Kaschey and bodyhopping when her form expires, implying that the ruins of broken technology around the world are the remnants of a civilization that achieved the ability to make oneself effectively immortal by making physical bodies something you can replace.
NTA, but who the frick play gacha for the story anyway? Not to mention AK is known for its convoluted mess of story. Anyway, I do agree that unkillable is sorta bad. I'm fine with immunity to natural aging/death but if you chopped someone head off, they should be death instead of respawning with another body somewhere else.

Almost certainly given that you'll have three months between Specter and Gavial. I have about 450 stored up and I know even if I get fricked over by Specter's banner I'd be missing out on a couple pretty skippable banners if I go into hardcore saving mode so I'm ready for Gavial.
Are there any other limiteds other than those two? I only roll for absolute favorites outside of limiteds and there hasn't been one for me since Pallas.
Nah, they run them every three months or so. We've got Specter at the end of this or beginning of next month, Gavial in late January (or whenever Dossoles ran), and we're about a week out from finding out what the next limited event is in China (so the one we'll get in April/May). Our timeline for new 6* ops post-Navis looks like this so far:
- a charge caster like Indigo, has some boss killing potential but it's a huge investment for someone you wouldn't normally use
- a trapmaster like Robin only with sort of a Bomberman gimmick. Great if you're into that, but a huge investment for something gimmicky
- Gavial (the only limited listed here) and Pozyomka (a sniper who's on par with and can potentially greatly exceed Schwarz)
- a liberator (Tequila's archetype) who seems to be an incredibly powerful pickup
- an artificer who just came out alongside chapter 11 so I'm withholding judgment until I see how people use him once the novelty wears off
I see. Well I'll just go for those two then, no need for any of the others I can see there. I have enough 6*s at this point that unless a new one is a legitimate game breaker like Ling or a helidrop killer like Radiant Nearl then they won't make a huge impact for me.

Aside from rookies character developing their skills, I guess we could have characters that have interest that nkt exactly align with their class, like Blemishine becoming a summoner or artificer given she has a interest on engineering, same for Eunectes if she develops her own robot army. Haze criminal past could work as a specialist of some sort, the bear students could also get alters showing their growt on rhodes and if they changed combat roles as they develop themselves on rhodes, I could see Zima becoming a guard or defender, Istina a caster, Gummy going full cannibal and being some kind of bloodsteal dreadnought guard
Eh I can only really see the bears out of those. Maybe Whislash if they heal her arm somehow.

Rangers may be just a 5* sniper showing him in his prime. All the rookies/reserve ops could get alters aswell, i really want Popukar, Melantha and Cardigan to name a few. We most likely will get something out of nowhere like, alter criminal past Hoshi, or Ifrit going full pyro

I was meaning more like an alternative timeline, where lets say Hoshiguma never joined the LGD and became a crime overlord, or Ifrit turned completely unhinged. Kinda in the way Skadiva works, a different "what if" timeline. I dont know enough lore, but another example could be, idk, Melantha kills by mistake an innocent and she never uses a sword again, turning into a sniper? Some shit like that could be for future alters

I think Saria is actually the most likely after Shining. She's shown to be able to control her calcification arts in offensive ways too from the Mansfield event, and she just refrains from it because of her personality.
I think many hated the alter as a concept but where ok when the first one was Lava after some years with training but many were angry with Chen alter before her kit was show because many felt it was just a skin as unit instead of showing something different from the character, if they keep the trend of alters being proper different versions of characters, like the rookies growing or cases like Nearl and Gavial that their own bios say they have great fighting abilities but choose an more defensive/support role and the alter is them taking that offensive role for a change, its nice and show more and develops the character in a way than, lets say, the next alter being something like christmas Suzuran with nothing to show as character
No I just mean I hate the term "Alter" for a unit because it reminds me of Fate, I'm moronic. Anyway, I never saw anyone mad about them except Ch'en because she did two things:

Nearl (dunno about Gavial) also functioned as the semi-conclusive piece of character story stuff for a whole setting's worth of plot, and brought in elements from the previous Nearl event about Blemi, where Nearl was shown to still be in her prime fight-wise. Similarly, Specter's alt, and consequently the event it was made for, solved huge mysteries about the character and also actually did one of the only things that Arknights has struggled with doling out greatly: It healed her, curing both her mental and physical illnesses. Very, very few other examples of this have happened in-setting, so her alt effectively "solves" the character and gives her a happy ending (although of course the Deep Ones story is far from over, what with the Isharm-la and popstar alien gods and all that shit).
Personally I have no issue with swimsuit Ch'en other than her face looking off and her L2D animation being kind of shitty compared to units like Nian. Thus I leave her with her base art.

Well no, a phys unit whose gimmick is meant for taking on multiple foes at once on different areas will not defeat a bulky defensive boss that can oneshot him. Phantom can handle that ugly little split-sided boss in IS3 better than her since it needs both halves to be killed simultaneously.

Gravel, Myrtle, Specter, Cuora, Kroos, Perfumer.
Other good choices include Cutter, Pinecone, Utage, and maybe Gitano if you need the role.
Prioritize promoting Spectre and Myrtle.
The former is broken - for its rarity - lane holder, the latter is broken DP generator.
Angelina removes the basic need of casters throughout the main story.
Utage is for helidrops on tough enemy units.
Pinecone is a great unit too.

though you might wanna wait a little for the limited banner, maybe you'll get even better options.

Pramanix has probably helped me kill more than anyone else. -60% def is no joke. The fragile debuff helps too.
I feel a lot of people sleep on pramanix because shamare, but they forget pramanix also reduce RES, and given how bigger RES has become more common place alongside the def, she is a good all rounder
Shamare also reduce atk and that's big thing not to mention that global range.

This is general advice rather than anything specific but don't neglect your 3* ops. They're nothing flashy but they're MUCH cheaper to build than higher rarity options. Since you're still early in and resources are still scarce across the board you're going to see your sanity and resources stretch much farther getting e1 max and sl7 on them, and it's an investment that will pay off much better in the long run if you're thinking about staying f2p for as long as possible. Even the 2* units are useful at times later on
Also with the event coming up it's probably worth pointing out that event stages always have the same sanity/event currency rate (unless I'm forgetting something, someone please correct me if I'm wrong) so it's a great use of your sanity to farm those even if you can't get at the later stages and buy out the experience and LMD from the shop so you can keep developing your roster

Need some advice lads, I got Specter Alter at pot3 after saving 100k orundums and nearly 100 POs, I even cleared the tickets in yellow cert shop. I am about to reach 300 rolls for the spark. Should I get Skalter or improve on Specter? The part of me that wants to dedicate even more to Specter wants me to raise her potential, while the other part of me that wants to collect all the Abyssal Hunters wants to get Skalter.
Skadi is broken though, I got Specter but I'm not raising her anytime soon, if you go full waifu mode then do it, I guess?
keep in mind - you still can get 1 pot for her in IS2.
Get the new unit, it'll be a lot more fun to have than just an extra little smattering of atk on specky.

Yeah, I think it's called that? The second one with gold color in shop where you can buy operator (currently Surtr). You are a newcutie right? You should be able earn a lot of cert from doing all annihilation and some other task for newbie. Use recruitment permit for 4*/5* too daily. Look for the tag that guarantee 4*/5* in Google. I think it should be enough by March. If not then yeah you might need to roll using Orundum. If your target is purely Mountain then it doesn't matter if your Orundum is 0 by then as long as you have 180 certs.
Haze is so-so. Didn't really use her myself. Steward is good caster for low star. Click for 4* caster. Btw the current banner is OP(Surtr and Mudrock) if you want to reroll. Of course Irene and Spalter are good too. So yeah, if you just starting today you might want to consider reroll for those and build up your 180 certs.
While Distinctions are typically earned from obtaining an Operator for the first time you can get more from getting the same 5 or 6 star Operator getting five or ten distinctions respectively. However you can get Distinctions from 4 star Operator Tokens which you get from getting duplicates of the same Operator after their potential is maxed out then you can trade those in for 1 Distinction. The Recruitment section where you can use Recruitment Permits to get Operators without using Orundum And using certain Tags you could get four star Operators easily. For Example the Fast Redeploy tag will give you Gravel. Survival and Sniper gives you Jessica. Sniper and Debuff can give you Meteor. However sometimes the Tags won’t stay it just happens but the longer you set the recruitment timer for the more likely the selected Tags will stay.

If Mountain ever has a rate up again it will be on standard banner or joint op banner. So a 25% rate when you pull a 6*. Your rate for 6* will still be 2% with a soft pity start from 51 pulls onward. Okay I need insight. I didn't realize that Texas was getting a new version and Rosmontis will be on the banner too. I have only 25 rolls right now how possible is it to save up 275 more so I can at least get one of them. For reference I'm at 5-4 in the main story for side stories/Intermezzi I've played a few HOSF, COB, MB, and AWITD so I should have access to a decent amount of Orginium Prime and I get 1750 Orundum a week from Annihilation.

It won't be difficult, but it will take roughly a year for him, and that's with everything he has stored up plus the free pulls we get from the event. I do agree that whaling is his best bet though.
The event will give you a tenfold permit and 14 single rolls and combine that with your 25 saved rolls you need to save 251 rolls but Even then if you get all the Orundum and Permits from the green cert shop, do you’re weeklies, do past events and don’t roll at all from now till then you’re still probably going to be shy of what you need. If you want to try everything you can but don’t want to be a whale/dolphin you can do a bit of Orundum farming.
Okay so I managed to get up to 30,000 Orundum from past events and Orundum grinding then add 19 HHP so I currently have 69 rolls (nice). This is not counting today’s mission, login rewards or the stuff from the commendation shop. If I counted right when you add the free rolls I need to save 207 more for the Texas banner. I don’t care if I have to wait until the last day of the banner I’m going to try and save 300 rolls.
you gonna need at least 150 pulls anon. usually for limited banner drop 2 of them at 150~ pulls but for safe measure you should save 300 pulls. i saved up around 250 pulls right now.
if you want easy and best value get monthly.
It should be doable to save 300 rolls until then if you already have 70 (even easier with the monthly pass) but it also involves not using orundums or primes at all for that long.

My guess is that guides are considered "cheating" in some way because you are not playing the game in the intended way, mostly, eliminating the whole "fun" of not solving shit yourself, like trying to play puzzle games and using guided all the way, or some mysteries game and no bothering resolving the clues and hints, like, what bother playing a game if you are not going to even put some modicum effort in actually playing the game.

300 rolls should guarantee pozy and gavial unless you're really unlucky, by force (spark) if necessary.
Same with texas, an extra 300 rolls should guarantee her and penance.
For Mlynar that's when it gets tricky, there's no real guarantee for non-limited banners, it could take you a single 10 roll, it could take you a thousand and still not get him, but on average you should get him around 150 rolls with average luck.

all you need is 4 rolls, it's all luck
300 on a limited banner will at least guarantee the rate up through spark, so if you want pozy and texas that's 600 rolls on an absolute worst case scenario
on average it will get you 100 rolls on a standard, 150 on a limited to get what you want
you could get them with less, you could need more, it's all luck
Calculating rolls is hard.
First of all, never roll in any banner with less than 60 rolls on hand, that's how much it takes to get a hard pity 6* even as a lucklet (most people get it around 50 rolls).
But this just means you get a 6*, rate up is another matter.
This means you will want 120 rolls when going into any banner for at least 2 tries.
However given the rates are decent, you may get the rate up 6* before even hitting 60 rolls.
But because rate up is still down to chance, you may not get them even after dumping 250 rolls into the banner.
It's tricky, try to not plan for more than 2 ops at once as a f2p, if you get lucky then that's great, if not then at least you got what you planned for.

Sounds pretty easy even without irene or GG so I really don't know why are people freaking out when they can't even accurately describe the game mode.
the mode is easy if there is no fricking def buff and health buff stacking like crazy the longer you clear it. At CN early SSS the enemy def could stack to 4k, 6k ATK and 300% HP EACH ENEMY .
It’s not too difficult to clear if you have good arts damage, and stack your team properly. There’s some randomness in being able to get the right characters for stacking, but you have unlimited retries for each stage.
Sounds about right. I'm working on finishing getting the grindstones I need currently, then I'm gonna give SSS a try laterish. Or maybe tomorrow. Seems like it's another perfect kind of thing to do at work for me.

This is likely my last big batch of 6*s unless I get really lucky on Galter's banner. I'm saving so I can spark Chalter there and whatever else I get is a bonus I feel.
I'm honestly not really worried about CC anymore. 9 was annoying just because of the enemies. I still cleared r18 week 1 even if I was lazy as frick about it.
I feel like my next goal after this batch of ops is to just E2 all the 4*s and maybe do some mastery on them, but I won't bother with the spreadsheet there.
I want to be able to easily casually frick around in IS2 and whatnot at work which is why the 4*s too.
CC is artificial difficulty so it's hard to really take it seriously or care about it as a measure of operator power.
Believe it or not the game is tightly balanced around the letter ranks, S tier defense is around 1500 DEF and up, A being around 1200, and so on.
This means something as small as +20% to enemy defense can completely screw over any physical damage dealer in the game short of silverash and mlynar that do all their damage on few damage instances compared to say, exu who has to suffer defense reduction 5 times per attack.
And I will remind you depending on the CC and due to how buffs stack, enemy defense can go anywhere from +150% to +500% depending on the map.
it's not about op power it's just that CC is the only thing that needs hyperoptimizing unless you gun for isharm-la on a high number run in IS3, otherwise everythings just doable with e2 no masteries

Blemi is an awful healer defender, her kits is all over the place and is only worth to use if you want to try the sleep rape meme. If you have to raise an actual healer defender just go for Saria.
They are weird because they are the middle ground between a true protector and a medic.
Unlike a medic, they have better burst healing, but far worse consistent sustain.
This burst healing comes in two forms, either one big relatively spammable heal (usually their S1s) or a mode where they constantly heal a decent amount (usually their S2/S3s).
They are barely any tankier than tanky guards when push comes to shove, so they are hardly a replacement for a protector, but they can block 3, and their tankiness is enough for a lot of elites if they are E2 70+.
Another benefit is that they use ground tiles and can block instead of being limited to ranged tiles, in fact a 1-2 block guard with a healing defender behind them is optimal in a lot of cases.
Blemi is weird because she's a mix between a guard and a healing defender, to the point of being a guard that just so happens to heal others.
Her S1 is a power strike that happens to heal, her S2 while not that good outside sleep teams is widely used because they saw it on CC once, her S3 is her main skill but it doesn't heal herself because she's a martyr.
The downside of her S3 is not as bad as it sounds when healing defenders are a supplement to medics, not a replacement, thinking they are a replacement is the reason a lot of people find content more difficult than it really is.
And before anyone complains about her not defending as a medic, the original hanzi for "defender" is pretty much just "heavy unit" rather than specifically defender.
This is about how I use my Saria most of the time.
Her S2 has pretty crazy range and is generally good enough in most content to replace a healer.
I know when you only had the three original annis I managed to make her solo heal the entire thing (with one self regen unit at the bottom).
They work well when you can focus all the damage on one unit (s1) if it's heavy or if it's light you can get away with s2 if it's spread across multiple units.
It "works" in meta teams because those revolve around overkilling everything before it gets into damaging range, so you only ever have to worry about chip damage from stray crossbowmen, and even then those teams fold if two waves of elites come too close to each other or a tanky elite soaks up thorns/GG shots.
Want Blemi go for her. want chep hd, go for gummy, want more? go for Nearl or Saria, Saria is better but maybe Nearl tickles your pickle more, choose whoever

the stages give you so much time to set up that you have more than enough time to juggle your draw engine until you get what you want and then some
the last stage is a joke, particularly the iron carrot one, the only threat is crownslayer and you can just leak her
the only annoying one is the boats stage but even then the boats run around for so long it hardly matters

It's not that it's hard but more that you do need to be quite lucky and a skill in choosing your deck. Also a LOT OF TIME to reach stage 8 all over again in case you failed a run.

SSS mode rng is kind of shit but i'm still enjoying it. The stat nerf and rejecting cards mechanic couldn't come sooner.
I'm enjoying the mode but I keep struggling hard on the last couple of stages of Iron Carrot currently.
But as it turns out not being able to sleep is somehow the answer.
I can't see myself going to 8 each time but overall I do like this mode so far.
the boss is a joke as long as you don't press the draw button to get extra ops on your hand, because doing so has a chance to stun you if you draw a heat cluster, which is the only real threat
if you can deal with the zerg rush the slug itself is a joke, you can even leak crownslayer no problem
The zerg rushing is actually what was getting me most of the time.
I ended up winning by stacking vangaurd upgrades onto Mudrock and guard on Blaze which gave me enough blocking and aoe to deal with the tons of enemies.
after you clear it once a lot of players in future runs just go up to...stage 3 I think and reset to get all the rewards until they change it.
Sounds like a fricking hassle, it's easy to just steamroll it all with an effective deck instead of resetting like a moron.
I can't see myself reseting after stage 3 either honestly. Stage one to six were pretty free with a good deck and goldenglow.
I also got my Kal to m6 so I'm very pleased. Skalter is getting S2 to m3 right now then I think I'm going to either work on Saga or Phantom next.

Gavial2 is not good, with S3 she only barely scratches the 2000 DEF mark, which means she's not going to be doing a lot of damage to 1500 DEF either, and in fact that ATK steroid is barely on par with specter1's S2.
With her attack speed steroid she's too specialized in killing trash when that dies to pretty much anything to begin with, S2 is not that much better when it makes her a poor man's liberator.
Pozy is fine if a bit finicky due to needing a second ranged tile to deploy the typewriter, when she's good she's good, when she can't use her typewriter she's a bit meh but not terrible.

Gav being more of a burst guard doesn't do a TON of good for me since I have enough of a roster that I can just drop a sweeper if I needed more damage than I could expect from Blaze. My Schwarz is also very built so I may not need what Pozy brings to the table

There's zero reason to NOT get her if you're already set for life with a roster like that. At that point you literally have almost everything completely covered by 6*s alone, legitimately I don't see why you'd feel the need to optimize pulling for broken shit outside of maybe Goldenglow at that point. Wet Ch'en is a good unit and she's wet.
