Just level your operators and learn how to play the game. You don't need to reroll because 3-4* operators are sufficient even die the hardest levels, let alone story stages.

Yeah, probably my favorite event, storywise so far, the politics and scheming, doctor actually being part of all this instead of just doing stuff in the sidelines like nearl light and no bunny or kal sit to speak for him anywhere, really enjoyable.

This final CM is absolute cancer, all the guides rely on abusing Chen while the boss is out of range for disarm, but in my runs the boss takes less time to get to the spot and so Chen doesn't kill her before she flashes again.

I did it blind just now and I just stack Saria and Suzuran S3 then bring a bunch of DPS (SA/Ch'alter/Surtr/Schwarz/Ifrit) for the 2nd phase.
I want to use Weedy to blow down the arts guards on EX-5 CM but I don't think it's possible. Any suggestions? It's her S2M3, I've tried accelerating her skill with Ptil, slowing down the guards with S3M3 Suzuran, etc., nothing works. If even one guard reaches Weedy she dies.
this is three days late so i don't know if you're still stuck on there, but given the nature of that stage you cannot use weedy to clear it as the wind will blow the mobs all over the place.

lol yea i just got blasted by drone stage too. Kinda have a good run thanks to some OP collectible but suddenly got drone stage even though i never get any sniper recruitment and the few caster i got clearly can't hold up against that many drone.

The whole thing with this game is that you need to plan shit in advance. Now you just get stuffed because you didn't correctly guess the right operators to take or upcoming enemy spawns.
AFTER you see them. If you fail/quit the mission before an enemy shows up, or haven't run the mission yet, they'll just be "Under Investigation / No Data".
The solution is to do Practice until you win, then duplicate that strategy. Sucks because you need to win a mission twice for to clear it, but I don't think there are many good ways to approach it. Maybe enemy info shows what kind of enemy it is, and a hint about their stats.

Pullers have a good place on the giant bear doll boss stage. Gladiia's range, tile flexibility, regen, and good assortment of skills make her incredibly useful.

Yeah, it's a unique tower defense experience. Less of the set and forget and a lot of real time reacting and deploying/redeploying of your 'towers.' Blocking enemies also brings complexity into the gameplay.
Silence is pretty good. Good global heals. Praminix provides some good debuffs but she's also rather powercrept between the existence of Shamare and Gnosis.

Rolled the rest on her rerun. I had a total of 293~ exchange items by the time I rolled Nian herself, had spent my entire orundum+ticket stash (which I had saved for a long time, including gold cert purchased tickets), and did not get Aak'd again, although I received Eunectes and Rosa if I remember right.
She's only available every six months i think, and as far as i know limiteds only have one rateup banner, so your best chances are spark now or wait until she gets another sister in a year, then spark
There's actually a small text that tell you how many operators are upgradeable when you click on the item on the shop. Recruitment voucher also tell you how many operators of the same type that you already have.

Do some math to find optimal solutions to problems.
Pick units that can do well even on E1 for your starter. The ground unit preferably can block 2 or more. Also consider letting the heavy hitter enemy go if your starter are guaranteed to not be able to tank them.
Use the squad with a supporter and bring Scene, a ranged guard (or AoE guard if you can afford it), and any medic.
Scene (or Ling now) is an ideal starter for IS and IS2 because she's effectively a minor arts unit + 5 or more duelist guards for the price of one, and makes it easy to start up with. And everyone has her, as she's a CC unit.

The gameplay is surprisingly poor. Ostensibly it's fantastic, but the fact is you have to know what the level is going to throw at you before you start it or you get fricked, which is a pretty shitty gimmick for a game which has a resource cost to attempt a level.
Honestly the main draw of the game is its generosity. I've never had to buy pulls and I still have hundreds saved, even though I have all 6*s except a few shit tier ones. The story is poor, the daily burden is unparalleled, and the character art is mostly unattractive.

M8 I've been playing this kusoge since CBT in 2019. The fact is that if they wanted to be fair there wouldn't be a 50% stamina penalty for failing the challenging levels, and there wouldn't be a limit to practice attempts. It's not that the game is hard, it's that your lineup matters and you can't change it once you've paid the resources to use it. It's a game of pure chance for the first few attempts at a difficult level.
...Which is why you use your free practice attempts to know what works and what doesn't for a team comp. Every single event I do this, I give myself 5 tries on the boss level in practice mode because the timings are always so tight you can't afford too big of an error gap, so depending on what pitch is thrown I can adjust. I can't just throw down my e2 level 90 surtr and instantly win.

It's fine if you like trying a level dozens of times just to find out what happens in it so you can give it a "real" attempt, each try costing a finite resource, but I personally don't. I've put up with it for nearly 3 years but this game hasn't been updated almost at all and feels older than it is, and with the new focus on a roguelike mode (which is uniquely poorly-suited for this game for the reasons I've been describing) I just think this game is going in the wrong direction. There's literally no good reason why they don't remove practice tickets and add skip tickets.

No, it's actually uniquely addressing your qualms. If you want a mode where foresight is not the answer, play the roguelike where foresight is not expected. Bring your Thorns and Ling and smash through levels.
CC is the mode with the replay focus to perfection. They answer different aspects of the gameplay spectrum, one dynamic one strategic.

CC exists. Self imposed challenges exist. IS challenge mode (Thorns/Lingless) exists.

I literally did, and on a ranged power up tile too, but it was insufficient, even with a caster added.

The preview screen doesn't tell you what the enemies are. I don't mind retries but they shouldn't cost resources every time. It's that simple. Combined with a weak story and art and a high daily burden, losing enjoyment of the gameplay is really the last straw. I'll probably come back for CCs.
Each attempt costs 3 tickets and there are usually about 9 challenge mode maps, in addition to any challenging non-challenge modes.

The challenge stages last for one week so you don't need to try clearing it in one day. If you're a veteran player like what you imply and still having trouble clearing challenge stages in one week then you're doing something wrong. Roster shouldn't be a problem for veteran player unless you're an absolute lucklet, which is hard to do on AK because you can get strong OP from cert shop.

Hey, Nian's L2D is fantastic in the ones added to her skin.
L2D is basically their draw for limiteds.
Ironically enough the game with the most L2D I've seen (in decent quality, i.e. generally better than Blue Archive but not as good as the aforementioned Nian) is a relatively obscure gacha called Girl Cafe Gun.
Yeah that's what GCG has, basically everything is L2D with the limiteds having a full screen animated one including the background (in comparison to the regular stuff, which is usually an outfit on a character).
I don't think recency matters, it was never expected because the game didn't launch with it so it was a big surprise (and also visibly done for promotional purposes considering who it debuted with) and more of a bonus. The only one with crappy L2D is summer Ch'en ironically enough. Really tepid stuff compared to Nian, who's a lot more expressive, or even Nearl, who doesn't move much but generally feels more impressive due to the effects around her weapon.

It's not a main draw for me, but I will generally get the costumes for the characters if they're L2D since it's nice to have for assistants. Not like there's much upcoming I'd use the OP on though, unless they make that ballerina Liduke art into a W outfit.
I had Rosa and now Istina as my assistant. I got Nian (not skin) and Ling too. But only had Ling in to listen to her voice for a bit. But right now i'm way too into the bear girls.
I like Rosa a lot, she's a fun unit and her outfit is super pretty.
Mine has been Nian because out of my two favorite units (Vigna and her) Nian generally sees a lot less time on the battlefield and I had to save a lot to get her since I got screwed on the first run of her banner.
Yeah. On the Dusk banner i got spooked by Nian. Didn't get Dusk on Ling banner though. Maybe i get lucky with ddaily pulls because i run out of resources.

Rosa is truly fun. I tend to look for spots for her in stages. Her range tiles are weird but sometimes are in the right places depending on the map.
I had to almost hit spark to get Nian, but Dusk was within a short amount.
Ling I just impulse-ragepulled despite usually waiting until near the end of the event, got her after 4 Lee (~120 I think). Lucked out on the 5's because Shamare dropped in saving me 45 certs.
Rosa is one I enjoy taking on maps where stuff is hard to reach, the range combined with piercing is what makes her fun I think. Sort of similar to Ifrit in that regard, although a great deal weaker than the flamethrower.

You should have enough to get the 38 shop rolls tomorrow with that many pulls, which will bring you to 299 + the free daily roll, hitting 300 so you can buy her from the shop. If not, then burn recruit permits to grind the last bit of gold certs out.

Nightingale is a good unit but not one I'd spend 180 gold certs on. She shines on extremely difficult maps (usually bosses with huge stage-wide attacks or ranged AoE) since they tend to be arts focused, but you won't see a big difference on 90% of the other maps.
Well no, she'll absolutely carry you on it. If you had certs to burn then enjoy, although I always see it bandied about that masteries on her skills don't actually make much impact so maybe conserve your skill books and such there. She was one of my first 6*s and I've certainly used her, especially versus enemies like Sarkaz Grudgebearers, but I don't find myself needing a medic as often nowadays.
In the future, you could probably use a support unit. H-stages aren't ones you'd be repeating so there's no need to establish an auto.
She's been extremely good for 2 of the last CCs, so not really. Her use cases will always be around, arts damage is harder to mitigate than physical after all, and her phantoms are amazing.

Yeah, been playing for 2.5 years, f2p the whole way through. It's harder for newbies but the operator on banner right now is a huge crutch to that end.
Reroll for current blue woman on the banner, she will carry your ass hard once you get her to e2, she's a one woman army.
Sanity and resources feels pretty limited when you're starting out but later on when you already have everything in order you can start farming for gacha currency if you want.

I wouldn't consider Dusk worth comparing there, she's not that far off in usability I think.
Shit archetype but she makes the best of it and her skill at least has a duration that is semi-acceptable for the high SP cost, plus she also has similar utility to Gitano's S2. In stages like Annihilation she can completely handle an entire wave alone with her S3.
Rosmontis is fine for splash damage but her blocking restriction on the S3 tends to screw her positioning choices on a lot of levels due to the huge amount of non-deployment tiles in spots where ranged units are supposed to dominate. Unless I need the range I usually prefer W. Granted though, Rosmontis can completely handle half of some maps solo if they have a good spot for her to take advantage of and some enemies with low enough def that her Def ignore actually makes a difference.
Debating whether it's moronic to post this or not, I'm not sure I want to get into an argument over this given how crazy invested people get in these threads but I already typed it up. Eh. Dusk isn't bad. I think Dusk and Ros actually were clustered around the same area from CN ratings too ironically enough, just with Dusk slightly better for general content (with both around the same for CC content).
Rosmontis has actual damage, this is why she's immediately better off than Dusk. In fact if there are two targets for the shields adjacent, Rosmontis has some of the biggest damage in the game, and she also features stuns.
She's got good damage with a restriction. Incredible attack does not a titan make, or Skadi's unga would have had her reign as the empress since she was introduced. I would say the same applies to Rosmontis.
Dusk is simply the best AoE caster. She's not cream of the crop as far as 6*s go either, but she's certainly the queen of her archetype as far as the intended role goes and her crowd control is pretty good. I'd place her on the same level as Rosmontis, not below. As in, she shines on stages with clusters of shit that she can afford to attack slowly in the same way as Rosmontis, and her blocking ability with her S3 can hold down a strong foe in the same way as Rosmontis but with arts instead.

Skadi's single target, her dps isn't particularly high, and she has to survive for a long time to dish out her damage granted by long skill durations. CC never really allows her to do this.
Rosmontis has dps in spades, crowd control, a long skill duration, and even provides support.
She has her use cases even in CC, and what's inherent to her archetype, unlike Dusk, is that she's not that costly to deploy.
Also unlike Dusk, she kills things.
She's also critical for the defender/caster risk 31 clear, picrel.

Spectrum was the 2nd easiest CC imo, but I'm not sure it really matters. Anyone can pull a risk 30+ clear out of their ass with any given 6*, even "crap" ones like vanilla Ch'en. Dusk certainly has no problem killing shit, but excels more in crowds due to her swarming. If we're looking more at lists and CC stuff, then Rosmontis also generally ranks very closely to Dusk, with Rosmontis usually ranking slightly higher in CC usability while Dusk ranks slightly higher in non-CC usability. Even Integrated Strategies has her place very closely to Rosmontis (although both are considered low value due to the mode's restrictions).

I'm not trolling, I genuinely didn't see that there was no Risk 32 (assumed the Rhine guys made it, guess not). Regardless, Pine Soot isn't the easiest, that was Lead Seal, which was a pure DPS and stall mess.

Anyway, yeah sometimes a certain unit that does average elsewhere will excel in specific content. Can't really argue with her being core for that clear, but I don't think it somehow makes Dusk garbage in comparison, given how Spectrum's main threats are the two dark knights and the debuff knights. Also not too often I see Exusiai get her day in the sun in jacked up CC stuff, so that was nice. Dusk's made for long, protracted fights with lots of enemies, and there's not many outside of Anni. She's still the best splash caster as far as I know, at least at actually splash casting rather than debuffing. Has CN released one that outmodes her?

W's problem is that her s3 can't kill anything important with one go. She'd need buffs and other ops like Exu are generally better buffers.

Dude, I did risk 32 and I can tell you Pine Soot was easily the easiest.
Lead Seal isn't just a "stalling mess," it's a micromanaging mess, paying attention to various things for an hour, stuff like lining up the correct times to stun when the atk intervals don't line up is not easily done and takes very good judgement, and any way you slice it that clear took way more operators than Pine Soot took to beat.

Dusk doesn't have damage, this is her problem. Stalling an enemy indefinitely is all well and good but other ops can do that, albeit for a shorter time, while actually killing.

Post clear video. I don't care how many ops, I already had M3 Bibeak and Lead Seal was just tedious and irritating compared to before it. Ironically the hardest for me was Pyrite simply because I lacked the ops.
Dusk is crowd control damage, stall is just a bonus. Unfortunately this doesn't mean much outside of meme clears with Magallan and Suzuran but I don't think that makes her a bad unit, it's just that AK has evolved so most regular stages feature bosses and minibosses she works less favorably with and less Anni style stages she shits on handily. She solos half the map on those, albeit not in a terribly unique way. I wouldn't say unique is needed though.
I agree splash caster is a shit class but she makes the best of it if you want it. She worked fine in this event despite Ling upstaging her and everyone else.

I can tell you exactly why it's easy if you don't believe me. There are very few real enemies, the only real enemies are 3 envies, and 3 and 2 blindies, and none of them have super high hp.
Envies are hard to tank sure but they're not oneshotting and their range isn't overwhelming like croc mages from cc6.
Blindies are very easily tanked from the same color tile with a defender.
If that wasn't enough, you're allowed to tank one of these.
The color tiles also mean you have easy access to damage boosts to rape the whole map from, meaning AA snipers become potent damage sources.
There are no atk risks either, and the only dps decreaser is atkspd so Choom's damage isn't affected at all due to being ammo based.
There are no bans so really you can bring whoever you want provided you have the dp, which is easily gotten thanks to an easy opener.
The boss is too easily tanked as well, the shield risk is just way too easy compared to the other risk, that would give you a real map, but no, they're treated as equals.
His shield isn't even hard to bring down with just a single dps, particularly Ifrit who is unaffected by the atkspd decrease, but simply using Choom+Elysium would also suffice.

Fair enough, I agree that the Blindies and the boss are the only real enemies (Envies weren't a big deal imo). Most of my failures were from the boss freeing the Blindies actually, until I figured a way to get around it.
I didn't have the tools to take out his shield reliably without a support though.
As far as other ones go, Pyrite was still the hardest for me, but that was a personal issue (literally no burst DPS to kill Crownie with and with the old loaner system I only had 30 tries with Ange).

Speaking of CC though, how's Dawnseeker? Looks annoying. Probably absolute murder if the boss has a decreased skill cooldown for his stun effect.

I see, well that makes sense. I ask mostly because I'm the same, I didn't watch any clears because I didn't want to spoil the stage layout and gimmicks for risks. I did look at an enemy list though.
Well at the end of the day I don't care about the meta I really love my daughter and will do anything to make her work, brought her to every stage too. A buff would be really nice tho, or at least a skin

Nian right now just weaker Cuora right now. I wish Nian Passive Shield Can get Refreshed like Mudrock. Nian Would be very strong. Pray a good module for her.
Nah, now she's at least cheap, so you can justify redeploying her for her 27 seconds of intense slow and some damage, and the giant sp cost isn't much of an issue. She does something well now.
Nian is apparently rated considerably higher for CC than Rosmontis and Mostima, almost in the same spot as Hoshiguma but with less general use application.
From what I remember, Mizuki and Mostima are the universal weakest.

I don't think a whole lot has changed as far as defenders go. If it's the same one I recall, a bunch of defenders were all clumped near each other with Mudrock and Saria being high above, which I believe is a fair assessment. Personally I rarely notice a difference between Hoshi and Nian despite their different kits.
I still don't think Mizuki is terribly good though, I doubt his position has changed significantly just because of a specific group of enemies he's useful for. Mostima at least gets some utility but I'm not sure where it'd place her. Probably still on the low end but not rock bottom like before, leaving either Specter's alt or Mizuki at the bottom.

yeah the unit doesn't change but the new future stage arknights gave us just really awful for defender.
More stage better just use gravel/mudrock shield to bait the single insane damage.like future stage in Guiding Ahead. Boss just deal instant kill normal unit without shield.
Is Goldenglow really that good? I checked and her atk is so low so I guess she is not going to be a bosskiller without significant buff team. Is she only good for normal mob and global range? That's disappointing, I expected another caster boss killer.
Atk stat doesn't matter at all for casters and arts damage dealers, look at her atkspd and trait compared to other casters.
She has highish dps and is good all around. Not really specialized for bosses but she can do the job if the targeting is right, thanks to high damage output and res shred.
To put into perspective, her s3 total damage surpasses Eyja s3, but has about half the dps.
I spent an hour today going through 100+ recruitments so I could get enough yellow certificates to buy the 2x10 pull from the shop.
I used both of them trying to get Ling but didn't even get a 5-star out of it.
Ling does not want to come home to me. ;__;

My luck hasn't been that bad all things considered. I maxed out Blacknight and got Lee three times. But these last 20 pulls convinced me Ling's not coming home.
Her damage isn't great and her sp costs are pretty awful. That said she's a lot better than she used to be with the modules on CN fixing a lot, namely her costs and giving her actual utility, but in the end she's still behind most of the 6*s, but now she has actual use cases, so yeah, go ahead.

I've just got Mulberry from gacha and I don't have Honeyberry yet, so I'm assuming I can just forget about Honeyberry completely now, correct? Mulberry's s2 seems stronger than Honey's s2 at least
My auto is unstable for the prison (kills the boss 1st form sometimes right as the casters spawn, meaning instant death) but man it's so fast it makes any minor extra stamina spent worth it.
Anyway, how do they calculate when to trigger skills? Sometimes Mudrock waits until he stuns her, sometimes she triggers her S3 right as he enters Ifrit's range just like I did manually.
It's probably framerate inconsistencies fricking up your auto. What I do is I camp out and murk him asap, then delay a prison light stun, that way there's room for leeway.
I tried to do that (i.e. wiping him as soon as he approaches) but it only works half the time thanks to Mudrock. Watching it again, for some reason she will only trigger her skill if all the archers are dead, and half the time the archers are dead, half they die two seconds later but she's stunned by then.
do you happen to use operators that deal more damage based on RNG (Franka, Meteorite)? I have a theory that due to RNG some waves of enemies get cleared faster which makes later waves come out sooner, making it seem like your ops use their skills too late

I was thinking instant kill with like long range operators like Thorns and Schwarz. If those aren't options maybe you can try something like this.
It'll get a consistent result out of Jesselton to go after his stun, and from there you can activate the lights accordingly.
Don't have either of them, and the spot Schwarz would be deployed on is taken by Eyja.
The problem isn't that he's too tough to kill, it's just that Mudrock will not activate her skill half the time. If she does without getting stunned, his first form goes down like a sack of bricks, and he's made short work of by Ifrit and any blocker right after. The only actual threat is the casters that seem to love spawning right as he res's, ending the run. My Eunectes could probably shred him too, I just didn't bring her since she would rarely get to actually block anything.

lol, lmao. Get ready to read a lot. The story is good and the world is really interesting, but the chinks have this really shitty way of writing that bascially uses 7 lines of dialogue to convey what 1 could do just fine. Sounds awful but among the slog there's a good story. Also be prepared since in the beginning it does the classic thing of "spit out names and places and stuff the player doesn't know yet" wich may confuse you.
Overall i do enjoy most of the lore, not the way is portrayed so i resort to yt videos to know what even is the story
Ask on a per-story/per-chapter basis.
For example, the bulk of the initial main chapters are very much "filler" stuffed ones. Random ambushes by insurgents, random musing of "is this right" over and over.
But I found Frostnova's chapters very well done, and even integrating a good pseudo-cutscene battle that illustrates the events more concretely. It has an ending that succeeds in what it wanted to do. Compared to that, the chapter right after completely drops the ball and is just confusing at points, the finale splits the story in half with exactly what the other anon mentioned, 7 lines to convey a few words worth.
Story Events are hit or miss. There are archive ones you can open at any time to view and some of those are alright (most are self-contained singles apart from ones like Children of Ursus, which tells the sequence of events from multiple character viewpoints for kids trapped in a school by terrorists).
It tends to be that the casual themed ones are generally enjoyable. With the serious ones, it depends on the characters involved. For example, there are 3 events themed for CNY limited units. 1 of these is a monster movie plot that's fun to read, told by a young 3* operator's writings with the advice of the featured unit, who is a very easygoing woman.
2 of them are rather dry ones filled with Chinese analogies and esoteric dialogue between very "cultured" characters and it feels like it endlessly drags on.
The worst example is probably A Walk in the Dust, which features Kal'tsit, a very, very dry and vague character who is important to the main plot but epitomizes the cliche of referring to events that the player has no way of knowing of to increase the feeling of mystery in a scene, but it just feels pointlessly wordy without saying anything.
But the strongest part of the stories is the setting and worldbuilding.
TLDR: It's hit or miss. Some of it is good but some is like watching paint dry (i.e. boring, but not explosively shitty).
Nian's Ancient Forge, it's a side story featuring Nian as the monster and Lava as a hero. The stages are no longer available but the story itself is a permanent addition to the archives and can be unlocked at any time.
I thought it was fun, I wasn't trying to lie to the guy. The ending was a little mediocre but it was funny to see characters like Snowsant and Swire in the setting of a cheesy monster movie. Was a lot more enjoyable than the other CNY unit stories, although I am a bit biased because Nian is my assistant.
Chapter story is ok.
Event story is hit or miss except Nian's story and Dusk's Story. They are awfully long and boring. Both of them have the longest for text of all events.
Better hit skip then read the summaries in skip confirmation text.

like, you only get 10% damage boost, it is literally nothing on drone caster, meanwhile the first and the cheapest mastery drops cooldown by 5 on the third skill, for example.
A lot of units have their most significant mastery effect for a skill on M1, it's not unusual. For example, with Ifrit, another caster, she has her most important skill (S2) get a 1 SP cost reduction which works very well with her talent Rhine Loop due to the already low cost of the skill (although M3 does increase the debuff nicely).

As the thread's resident western guidehater would tell you, even a small stat modifier is actually pretty important overall (e.g. 40 points to attack actually does make a noticeable difference apparently). Goldenglow's archetype has very low stats to compensate for the drone drastically increasing the actual damage they do, so 10% is probably some shit like 20% more, idk.
any physical Attack difference is huge because how flat defence works but any arts attack difference is not that noticeable unless multiple attack like goldenglow drones because of how arts percentage reduction works but any flat res reduction is amazing.

1, 2 and 3 stars are so inexpensive to rise to max that, unless you are a new player, not rising them hurts you more in the long run playing IS. You never know when you might use one, Melantha and Cardigan saved my ass a bunch of times
Honeyberry or Mulberry really do make it easier since they alleviate pressure on the middle lane so you can focus on killing Phantom. He stands waiting for a while after spawning but also before hitting left block so you can set up and burst him when he stands there. If he breaks the left block you can choose to just let the big armored dudes that go thru there leak, it's only like 3 of them so 3 lives.
Having 4*s make it easier since you can recruit them when you have low hope instead of settling for a generic 3*. The actual strat tho is starting with a good 6* or 2 5*s that will carry you all game.

Rewards don't make something good, they make you do something that you otherwise don't want you to do.
With some things, that can be a tool that can force you to do something you THINK you otherwise don't want to do but do, and maybe reward risk taking behavior, or shove some narrative surprises or whatever in a different type of game like an rpg.
But with a tower defense, and with CC, you know exactly what you're getting, and pixelated trophy isn't going to change any of that.

No. She was at worst somewhat underpowered at first, but the first module they gave her basically more than doubled the doll's effectiveness, she's considered one of the more powerful 6*s now.

This final CM is absolute cancer, all the guides rely on abusing Chen while the boss is out of range for disarm, but in my runs the boss takes less time to get to the spot and so Chen doesn't kill her before she flashes again.
Then figure something out on your own instead of guidegayging everything. Why do you think you're in this position of helplessness to begin with? Because you've refused to improve.
I tried a whole bunch of things but none of them work. The boss is pretty unfun tbh, you have to take her HP down 25% at a time but you can't reliably block coz she flashes and instagibs and locks down every unit in range to attack her.

this is three days late so i don't know if you're still stuck on there, but given the nature of that stage you cannot use weedy to clear it as the wind will blow the mobs all over the place.

The whole thing with this game is that you need to plan shit in advance. Now you just get stuffed because you didn't correctly guess the right operators to take or upcoming enemy spawns.
I also hate that one enemy with floating device that can't be blocked or attacked by melee despite having a good chunk of HP.

AFTER you see them. If you fail/quit the mission before an enemy shows up, or haven't run the mission yet, they'll just be "Under Investigation / No Data".
The solution is to do Practice until you win, then duplicate that strategy. Sucks because you need to win a mission twice for to clear it, but I don't think there are many good ways to approach it. Maybe enemy info shows what kind of enemy it is, and a hint about their stats.

The enemy preview are only on the stage that you have already done. Some stage have different set of enemies too so you need to run blind for few runs. Or just watch YT.

Pullers have a good place on the giant bear doll boss stage. Gladiia's range, tile flexibility, regen, and good assortment of skills make her incredibly useful.

Yeah, it's a unique tower defense experience. Less of the set and forget and a lot of real time reacting and deploying/redeploying of your 'towers.' Blocking enemies also brings complexity into the gameplay.

Silence is pretty good. Good global heals. Praminix provides some good debuffs but she's also rather powercrept between the existence of Shamare and Gnosis.

Rolled the rest on her rerun. I had a total of 293~ exchange items by the time I rolled Nian herself, had spent my entire orundum+ticket stash (which I had saved for a long time, including gold cert purchased tickets), and did not get Aak'd again, although I received Eunectes and Rosa if I remember right.

Pick units that can do well even on E1 for your starter. The ground unit preferably can block 2 or more. Also consider letting the heavy hitter enemy go if your starter are guaranteed to not be able to tank them.
Use the squad with a supporter and bring Scene, a ranged guard (or AoE guard if you can afford it), and any medic.
Scene (or Ling now) is an ideal starter for IS and IS2 because she's effectively a minor arts unit + 5 or more duelist guards for the price of one, and makes it easy to start up with. And everyone has her, as she's a CC unit.

The gameplay is surprisingly poor. Ostensibly it's fantastic, but the fact is you have to know what the level is going to throw at you before you start it or you get fricked, which is a pretty shitty gimmick for a game which has a resource cost to attempt a level.
Honestly the main draw of the game is its generosity. I've never had to buy pulls and I still have hundreds saved, even though I have all 6*s except a few shit tier ones. The story is poor, the daily burden is unparalleled, and the character art is mostly unattractive.

You "people" must need bike helmets to stop yourselves from smashing your head against a brick wall because you don't know how to use your legs to walk, you've spent your life in a chair instead playing video games and jerking to porn like the worthless cumstain 98% of you are.
M8 I've been playing this kusoge since CBT in 2019. The fact is that if they wanted to be fair there wouldn't be a 50% stamina penalty for failing the challenging levels, and there wouldn't be a limit to practice attempts. It's not that the game is hard, it's that your lineup matters and you can't change it once you've paid the resources to use it. It's a game of pure chance for the first few attempts at a difficult level.
...Which is why you use your free practice attempts to know what works and what doesn't for a team comp. Every single event I do this, I give myself 5 tries on the boss level in practice mode because the timings are always so tight you can't afford too big of an error gap, so depending on what pitch is thrown I can adjust. I can't just throw down my e2 level 90 surtr and instantly win.

It's fine if you like trying a level dozens of times just to find out what happens in it so you can give it a "real" attempt, each try costing a finite resource, but I personally don't. I've put up with it for nearly 3 years but this game hasn't been updated almost at all and feels older than it is, and with the new focus on a roguelike mode (which is uniquely poorly-suited for this game for the reasons I've been describing) I just think this game is going in the wrong direction. There's literally no good reason why they don't remove practice tickets and add skip tickets.

Because the event is one map, not 30, and the retries don't cost anything, and your goal is to add more conditions to the map.
Any way you slice it it does what you hate. If you want a tower defense that doesn't require retries, that's what's called a fricking easy game.
Pick Thorns, then your assorted panic button operators and run a clinic through IS already, or maybe sit down and think for a second or two, I don't know?

L2D is basically their draw for limiteds.
Ironically enough the game with the most L2D I've seen (in decent quality, i.e. generally better than Blue Archive but not as good as the aforementioned Nian) is a relatively obscure gacha called Girl Cafe Gun.
There are games out there now with multiple L2D skins for every character. And none of the limiteds had L2D until recently, no one did.
Yeah that's what GCG has, basically everything is L2D with the limiteds having a full screen animated one including the background (in comparison to the regular stuff, which is usually an outfit on a character).
I don't think recency matters, it was never expected because the game didn't launch with it so it was a big surprise (and also visibly done for promotional purposes considering who it debuted with) and more of a bonus. The only one with crappy L2D is summer Ch'en ironically enough. Really tepid stuff compared to Nian, who's a lot more expressive, or even Nearl, who doesn't move much but generally feels more impressive due to the effects around her weapon.

I had Rosa and now Istina as my assistant. I got Nian (not skin) and Ling too. But only had Ling in to listen to her voice for a bit. But right now i'm way too into the bear girls.
I like Rosa a lot, she's a fun unit and her outfit is super pretty.
Mine has been Nian because out of my two favorite units (Vigna and her) Nian generally sees a lot less time on the battlefield and I had to save a lot to get her since I got screwed on the first run of her banner.

Rosa is truly fun. I tend to look for spots for her in stages. Her range tiles are weird but sometimes are in the right places depending on the map.
I had to almost hit spark to get Nian, but Dusk was within a short amount.
Ling I just impulse-ragepulled despite usually waiting until near the end of the event, got her after 4 Lee (~120 I think). Lucked out on the 5's because Shamare dropped in saving me 45 certs.
Rosa is one I enjoy taking on maps where stuff is hard to reach, the range combined with piercing is what makes her fun I think. Sort of similar to Ifrit in that regard, although a great deal weaker than the flamethrower.

Although to be honest it doesn't feel good sparking units, I almost had to do so for Nian because I was in the 290 range when I got her. I had to spark Miku in Blue Archive too and it felt terrible, although it's much easier to recover the stash there than in Arknights.

Nightingale is a good unit but not one I'd spend 180 gold certs on. She shines on extremely difficult maps (usually bosses with huge stage-wide attacks or ranged AoE) since they tend to be arts focused, but you won't see a big difference on 90% of the other maps.

Well no, she'll absolutely carry you on it. If you had certs to burn then enjoy, although I always see it bandied about that masteries on her skills don't actually make much impact so maybe conserve your skill books and such there. She was one of my first 6*s and I've certainly used her, especially versus enemies like Sarkaz Grudgebearers, but I don't find myself needing a medic as often nowadays.
In the future, you could probably use a support unit. H-stages aren't ones you'd be repeating so there's no need to establish an auto.
She's been extremely good for 2 of the last CCs, so not really. Her use cases will always be around, arts damage is harder to mitigate than physical after all, and her phantoms are amazing.

This game is good for f2p, you can beat many stages with low rarity units and support unit but it's hard game.

How much Orundum/rolls do we typically get a week? I’m currently getting 2,650 a week.
How good are Mint, Mountain, and Rosmontis. Are they worth going for?
Mountain is one of the best operators in the game. Rosmontis is probably the weakest limited we have gotten thus far.

I wouldn't consider Dusk worth comparing there, she's not that far off in usability I think.
Shit archetype but she makes the best of it and her skill at least has a duration that is semi-acceptable for the high SP cost, plus she also has similar utility to Gitano's S2. In stages like Annihilation she can completely handle an entire wave alone with her S3.
Rosmontis is fine for splash damage but her blocking restriction on the S3 tends to screw her positioning choices on a lot of levels due to the huge amount of non-deployment tiles in spots where ranged units are supposed to dominate. Unless I need the range I usually prefer W. Granted though, Rosmontis can completely handle half of some maps solo if they have a good spot for her to take advantage of and some enemies with low enough def that her Def ignore actually makes a difference.
Debating whether it's moronic to post this or not, I'm not sure I want to get into an argument over this given how crazy invested people get in these threads but I already typed it up. Eh. Dusk isn't bad. I think Dusk and Ros actually were clustered around the same area from CN ratings too ironically enough, just with Dusk slightly better for general content (with both around the same for CC content).
Rosmontis has actual damage, this is why she's immediately better off than Dusk. In fact if there are two targets for the shields adjacent, Rosmontis has some of the biggest damage in the game, and she also features stuns.
She's got good damage with a restriction. Incredible attack does not a titan make, or Skadi's unga would have had her reign as the empress since she was introduced. I would say the same applies to Rosmontis.
Dusk is simply the best AoE caster. She's not cream of the crop as far as 6*s go either, but she's certainly the queen of her archetype as far as the intended role goes and her crowd control is pretty good. I'd place her on the same level as Rosmontis, not below. As in, she shines on stages with clusters of shit that she can afford to attack slowly in the same way as Rosmontis, and her blocking ability with her S3 can hold down a strong foe in the same way as Rosmontis but with arts instead.

Skadi's single target, her dps isn't particularly high, and she has to survive for a long time to dish out her damage granted by long skill durations. CC never really allows her to do this.
Rosmontis has dps in spades, crowd control, a long skill duration, and even provides support.
She has her use cases even in CC, and what's inherent to her archetype, unlike Dusk, is that she's not that costly to deploy.
Also unlike Dusk, she kills things.
She's also critical for the defender/caster risk 31 clear, picrel.
It was just an example of raw numbers not being everything, W isn't exactly topping charts either despite her nuke skill for crowds.
Spectrum was the 2nd easiest CC imo, but I'm not sure it really matters. Anyone can pull a risk 30+ clear out of their ass with any given 6*, even "crap" ones like vanilla Ch'en. Dusk certainly has no problem killing shit, but excels more in crowds due to her swarming. If we're looking more at lists and CC stuff, then Rosmontis also generally ranks very closely to Dusk, with Rosmontis usually ranking slightly higher in CC usability while Dusk ranks slightly higher in non-CC usability. Even Integrated Strategies has her place very closely to Rosmontis (although both are considered low value due to the mode's restrictions).
W has low total damage.

Also not too often I see Exusiai get her day in the sun in jacked up CC stuff, so that was nice. Dusk's made for long, protracted fights with lots of enemies, and there's not many outside of Anni. W's problem is that her s3 can't kill anything important with one go. She'd need buffs and other ops like Exu are generally better buffers.

Dude, I did risk 32 and I can tell you Pine Soot was easily the easiest.
Lead Seal isn't just a "stalling mess," it's a micromanaging mess, paying attention to various things for an hour, stuff like lining up the correct times to stun when the atk intervals don't line up is not easily done and takes very good judgement, and any way you slice it that clear took way more operators than Pine Soot took to beat.

Dusk doesn't have damage, this is her problem. Stalling an enemy indefinitely is all well and good but other ops can do that, albeit for a shorter time, while actually killing.

Post clear video. I don't care how many ops, I already had M3 Bibeak and Lead Seal was just tedious and irritating compared to before it. Ironically the hardest for me was Pyrite simply because I lacked the ops.

Unfortunately this doesn't mean much outside of meme clears with Magallan and Suzuran but I don't think that makes her a bad unit, it's just that AK has evolved so most regular stages feature bosses and minibosses she works less favorably with and less Anni style stages she shits on handily. She solos half the map on those, albeit not in a terribly unique way. I wouldn't say unique is needed though.
I agree splash caster is a shit class but she makes the best of it if you want it. She worked fine in this event despite Ling upstaging her and everyone else.

I see that they seem to have had the same experience I did but with different units. I've been playing this since a bit before CoB's first run and I still lack units like Angelina. I appreciate that you posted some samples (no way of knowing if you're actually in there but I will believe you are) as requested.
I can tell you exactly why it's easy if you don't believe me. There are very few real enemies, the only real enemies are 3 envies, and 3 and 2 blindies, and none of them have super high hp.
Envies are hard to tank sure but they're not oneshotting and their range isn't overwhelming like croc mages from cc6.
Blindies are very easily tanked from the same color tile with a defender.
If that wasn't enough, you're allowed to tank one of these.
The color tiles also mean you have easy access to damage boosts to rape the whole map from, meaning AA snipers become potent damage sources.
There are no atk risks either, and the only dps decreaser is atkspd so Choom's damage isn't affected at all due to being ammo based.
There are no bans so really you can bring whoever you want provided you have the dp, which is easily gotten thanks to an easy opener.
The boss is too easily tanked as well, the shield risk is just way too easy compared to the other risk, that would give you a real map, but no, they're treated as equals.
His shield isn't even hard to bring down with just a single dps, particularly Ifrit who is unaffected by the atkspd decrease, but simply using Choom+Elysium would also suffice.
Fair enough, I agree that the Blindies and the boss are the only real enemies (Envies weren't a big deal imo). Most of my failures were from the boss freeing the Blindies actually, until I figured a way to get around it.
I didn't have the tools to take out his shield reliably without a support though.
As far as other ones go, Pyrite was still the hardest for me, but that was a personal issue (literally no burst DPS to kill Crownie with and with the old loaner system I only had 30 tries with Ange).
Angie was more or less the crux of that map, her and Suzuran enabling.
Yeah, I certainly felt that when it was going on. The lack of Weedy really made it reliant on slows.
Speaking of CC though, how's Dawnseeker? Looks annoying. Probably absolute murder if the boss has a decreased skill cooldown for his stun effect.

Nah, now she's at least cheap, so you can justify redeploying her for her 27 seconds of intense slow and some damage, and the giant sp cost isn't much of an issue. She does something well now.
Nian is apparently rated considerably higher for CC than Rosmontis and Mostima, almost in the same spot as Hoshiguma but with less general use application.
From what I remember, Mizuki and Mostima are the universal weakest.

I don't think a whole lot has changed as far as defenders go. If it's the same one I recall, a bunch of defenders were all clumped near each other with Mudrock and Saria being high above, which I believe is a fair assessment. Personally I rarely notice a difference between Hoshi and Nian despite their different kits.
I still don't think Mizuki is terribly good though, I doubt his position has changed significantly just because of a specific group of enemies he's useful for. Mostima at least gets some utility but I'm not sure where it'd place her. Probably still on the low end but not rock bottom like before, leaving either Specter's alt or Mizuki at the bottom.
yeah the unit doesn't change but the new future stage arknights gave us just really awful for defender.
More stage better just use gravel/mudrock shield to bait the single insane damage.like future stage in Guiding Ahead. Boss just deal instant kill normal unit without shield.

Is Goldenglow really that good? I checked and her atk is so low so I guess she is not going to be a bosskiller without significant buff team. Is she only good for normal mob and global range? That's disappointing, I expected another caster boss killer.
her attack isn't low, it's multiplied by the amount of drones she's controlling +1, PLUS every drone caster works brokenly good with red Skadi.
Atk stat doesn't matter at all for casters and arts damage dealers, look at her atkspd and trait compared to other casters.
She has highish dps and is good all around. Not really specialized for bosses but she can do the job if the targeting is right, thanks to high damage output and res shred.
To put into perspective, her s3 total damage surpasses Eyja s3, but has about half the dps.

It's probably framerate inconsistencies fricking up your auto. What I do is I camp out and murk him asap, then delay a prison light stun, that way there's room for leeway.
I tried to do that (i.e. wiping him as soon as he approaches) but it only works half the time thanks to Mudrock. Watching it again, for some reason she will only trigger her skill if all the archers are dead, and half the time the archers are dead, half they die two seconds later but she's stunned by then.

I was thinking instant kill with like long range operators like Thorns and Schwarz. If those aren't options maybe you can try something like this.

The problem isn't that he's too tough to kill, it's just that Mudrock will not activate her skill half the time. If she does without getting stunned, his first form goes down like a sack of bricks, and he's made short work of by Ifrit and any blocker right after. The only actual threat is the casters that seem to love spawning right as he res's, ending the run. My Eunectes could probably shred him too, I just didn't bring her since she would rarely get to actually block anything.
do you happen to use operators that deal more damage based on RNG (Franka, Meteorite)? I have a theory that due to RNG some waves of enemies get cleared faster which makes later waves come out sooner, making it seem like your ops use their skills too late

lol, lmao. Get ready to read a lot. The story is good and the world is really interesting, but the chinks have this really shitty way of writing that bascially uses 7 lines of dialogue to convey what 1 could do just fine. Sounds awful but among the slog there's a good story. Also be prepared since in the beginning it does the classic thing of "spit out names and places and stuff the player doesn't know yet" wich may confuse you.
Overall i do enjoy most of the lore, not the way is portrayed so i resort to yt videos to know what even is the story

Quite frankly, just skip it. It's really that bad.
Ask on a per-story/per-chapter basis.
For example, the bulk of the initial main chapters are very much "filler" stuffed ones. Random ambushes by insurgents, random musing of "is this right" over and over.
But I found Frostnova's chapters very well done, and even integrating a good pseudo-cutscene battle that illustrates the events more concretely. It has an ending that succeeds in what it wanted to do. Compared to that, the chapter right after completely drops the ball and is just confusing at points, the finale splits the story in half with exactly what the other anon mentioned, 7 lines to convey a few words worth.
Story Events are hit or miss. There are archive ones you can open at any time to view and some of those are alright (most are self-contained singles apart from ones like Children of Ursus, which tells the sequence of events from multiple character viewpoints for kids trapped in a school by terrorists).
It tends to be that the casual themed ones are generally enjoyable. With the serious ones, it depends on the characters involved. For example, there are 3 events themed for CNY limited units. 1 of these is a monster movie plot that's fun to read, told by a young 3* operator's writings with the advice of the featured unit, who is a very easygoing woman.
2 of them are rather dry ones filled with Chinese analogies and esoteric dialogue between very "cultured" characters and it feels like it endlessly drags on.
The worst example is probably A Walk in the Dust, which features Kal'tsit, a very, very dry and vague character who is important to the main plot but epitomizes the cliche of referring to events that the player has no way of knowing of to increase the feeling of mystery in a scene, but it just feels pointlessly wordy without saying anything.
But the strongest part of the stories is the setting and worldbuilding.
TLDR: It's hit or miss. Some of it is good but some is like watching paint dry (i.e. boring, but not explosively shitty).

Nian's Ancient Forge, it's a side story featuring Nian as the monster and Lava as a hero. The stages are no longer available but the story itself is a permanent addition to the archives and can be unlocked at any time.

I thought it was fun, I wasn't trying to lie to the guy. The ending was a little mediocre but it was funny to see characters like Snowsant and Swire in the setting of a cheesy monster movie. Was a lot more enjoyable than the other CNY unit stories, although I am a bit biased because Nian is my assistant.
Chapter story is ok.
Event story is hit or miss except Nian's story and Dusk's Story. They are awfully long and boring. Both of them have the longest for text of all events.
Better hit skip then read the summaries in skip confirmation text.

I really love her skillset but her M2 to M3 upgrades are so insignificant compared to every other operator, why is that?
like, you only get 10% damage boost, it is literally nothing on drone caster, meanwhile the first and the cheapest mastery drops cooldown by 5 on the third skill, for example.
A lot of units have their most significant mastery effect for a skill on M1, it's not unusual. For example, with Ifrit, another caster, she has her most important skill (S2) get a 1 SP cost reduction which works very well with her talent Rhine Loop due to the already low cost of the skill (although M3 does increase the debuff nicely).

As the thread's resident western guidehater would tell you, even a small stat modifier is actually pretty important overall (e.g. 40 points to attack actually does make a noticeable difference apparently). Goldenglow's archetype has very low stats to compensate for the drone drastically increasing the actual damage they do, so 10% is probably some shit like 20% more, idk.
any physical Attack difference is huge because how flat defence works but any arts attack difference is not that noticeable unless multiple attack like goldenglow drones because of how arts percentage reduction works but any flat res reduction is amazing.

1, 2 and 3 stars are so inexpensive to rise to max that, unless you are a new player, not rising them hurts you more in the long run playing IS. You never know when you might use one, Melantha and Cardigan saved my ass a bunch of times

Honeyberry or Mulberry really do make it easier since they alleviate pressure on the middle lane so you can focus on killing Phantom. He stands waiting for a while after spawning but also before hitting left block so you can set up and burst him when he stands there. If he breaks the left block you can choose to just let the big armored dudes that go thru there leak, it's only like 3 of them so 3 lives.
Try to unlock the relics first. It make runs easier later. To see the req is on relic list. I did the 3rd boss
Having 4*s make it easier since you can recruit them when you have low hope instead of settling for a generic 3*. The actual strat tho is starting with a good 6* or 2 5*s that will carry you all game.

Added extrinsic meaningless pixels isn't a reward, and doesn't change the mode, if you're just going to force yourself to play a mode you don't enjoy. The crux of CC is designing a strategy and perfecting and executing upon it. If you don't enjoy that inherently, don't play. If you want to fly by the seat of your pants and the will of rng, play IS.
Ultimately it's just a buff/debuff to number mode. I like Pallas's game mode more than CC

The issue with this whole idea is that 30 risk might be incredibly easy or just impossible depending on the map, because they're not really balanced well at those upper echelons, and like some CC max risks are only possible because of intense stall.

Rewards don't make something good, they make you do something that you otherwise don't want you to do.
With some things, that can be a tool that can force you to do something you THINK you otherwise don't want to do but do, and maybe reward risk taking behavior, or shove some narrative surprises or whatever in a different type of game like an rpg.
But with a tower defense, and with CC, you know exactly what you're getting, and pixelated trophy isn't going to change any of that.

No. She was at worst somewhat underpowered at first, but the first module they gave her basically more than doubled the doll's effectiveness, she's considered one of the more powerful 6*s now.
