The gen 2 Karasawa is cracked I remember breezing through 90% of AA just zooming around and spamming that. I guess there's a handful of difficulty spike ones like where it's 1v3 ACs though.
I guess Last Raven is harder than usual but late 3rd gen combat is a lot slower-paced than early 3rd gen and Silent Line has multiple missions that are like 10 minutes long so in my mind it got way more hectic, especially going for S ranks (necessary for one stupid gun unlock)

It really helped when I put new legs on my AC, in my case the lightweight ones because I just strafe the missiles normally. You can buy more shit in the store if you scroll right, by the way.
Melee hits seem to build stagger a lot, as well as the linear guns charge shot.
Kinetic weapons in general seem pretty good at building stagger, look for weapons with high impact.

Though I'd play AC6 on weekend I guess since you say it's pace is slower and if it's 12 hours long, I bet it will be much longer if you don't try to finish it quickly.

i replayed Fromslop game countless times but i never did NG+ because it has nothing interesting to offer for DS2 but it does not add that much

Yeah I'm bringing two bazookas, a missile launcher and grenade cannon. It's easy to stagger the guy but the weapons have long cooldown, and it is super hard to evade the attacks, and it's also very easy to get chain stunned from full hp to 0.
I can get him to 50% HP reliably but I just run out of heals at that point. I'll try replacing one of the bazookas with the starting blade
I need to know how to deal with vertical missile spam in this game. Every other move this guy does is fine but it feels like you eventually will get staggered and die due to the sheer volume of missile spam.

The game is comfy after defeating the first helicopter boss. I dicked around with it a for a bit to get a grip on game mechanics, but ultimately decided the boss is fake and gay so I just used a trainer to make the fight fun and not a boring "camp behind building to deal 1/40th of the hp bar" slog. I will proceed to use a trainer whenever the game feels gay and doesn't empower my cool mecha. You may now cope. It do be funny though that after the first boss the difficulty curve just falls off a cliff. Who the frick designs games like this?

DS4 windows is registering me pressing the up arrow (heal), but the game will not use any repair kits. What the actual frick is this bullshit? I'm running a build that can't "shoot" constantly. (Bazooka/blade, missiles/grenade launcher). Is this the case for reloading too?

You literally get the MELANDER parts by like mission 4 or 5 (Well - pretty early), and everything except the head is better than the order bits.
Also, forgot to mention - without a generator upgrade the pre order parts are garbo
But you have to....buy them and that means less money for other things. You can't even have all the parts before second boss.

The pre-order parts land in your inventory automatically for a game-starting step up of convenience at best. You can also replay missions freely to grind up, which some people may start doing out of the gate for early S-Ranks. Basically you get to determine what parts you're gonna have within the story's allowance at the time.

You only get ranks if you replay the mission, no ranks for the initial clear. Which I kind of appreciate so I don't have to look at all the d ranks I'd have.

By all accounts if you're doing good on the first run, hey, more reward money. But yeah, the checkpoints are there to help you learn the fights; the real shit is all on Replays and you're torturing yourself.

First clears don't get ranks. You have to Replay Mission, which will rank you at the end and show your best ranking on the list thereafter. You gotta clear with minimal damage, a fast run and efficient ammo usage, but the game doesn't exactly tell you how the ranks work or any scaling or so forth.
parts can be sold for the same as they cost, so they're basically free

Just played the tutorial and beat the helicopter on the 4th try. Not exactly sure what I did differently honestly. There's a million explosions and missiles being launched all the time and it's partially luck if you can dodge most of them so the chip damage racks up in the blink of an eye. My tard handler kept telling me to use my mobility in the air, but the mobility in the air is shit at least for this part. You have a tiny energy gauge that runs out instantly and the helicopter can turn 180 degrees and frick off if you ever get too close meanwhile you have to somehow dodge all the missiles too?
I'm gunna keep playing but so far I don't feel very confident nor am I having fun. Feels like a game you ram your head against endlessly until the correct strategy works finally.
My first AC game, and the main lesson I have learned in Chapter One is that keeping pressure on the enemy at all times is key. The health bar doesn't matter, the stagger bar should be your sole focus. Try that?

Literally just turn off Target Assist and either use cover when the chopper's out of bounds and being an butthole, or stay out of its line of fire. Marching right in and picking a gunfight will kill you.

Target assist is kind of shit. It breaks when I don't want it to break and reduces mobility way too much.
It's very good for MTs and less mobile targets that you just want to strafe enemy attacks on. It's absolute garbage for mobile foes onwards or anything that simple strafing isn't gonna fix.

Energy kills energy, explosion kill armor, kinetic kill unarmored unshielded everything else.
How do I know what's energy?
If it's not boolet, or it doesn't go boom, or if it goes boom with pretty not fire colors. I'm really not sure if plasma missiles count as energy though.

kbm generally feels better for most missions, but for bosses controller feels kinda easier because you can actually use target lock. especially in melee so you can actually see where the frick the boss is. and if you assault charge with the lock it will actually turn and continue chasing them when they *teleports behind u* instead of you helplessly yeeting off into the distance on kbm. target lock also puts the camera off centre so you can see the boss instead of it being covered by the back of your AC and makes the targeting HUD for your ammo/heat etc easier to see
so ng+ and ng++ has like 1-2 hours new content max

To get back to the ground faster where you get like 10x the recharge rate. If I want to go grasshopper mode with reverse joint QB I need to stop once the boost ends to actually drop instead of floating down. Not to mention the faster speed you get from dropping like a stone is better for avoiding attacks.

I look at this final boss fight and I feel nothing. There's just some generic white mecha that shoots red things and swings a red sword. You keep strafing around and shooting at it, watching the health bar slowly drain to zero. There's no hype music and some annoying female voice in the radio keeps babbling about her feelings the whole fight.

Like I do the entire mission perfectly anf that homosexual copter just decides to Guile it up and hold down back at the invisible wall and shoot missiles at me and even when I dodge it's a gamble because one or two will still tag me because frick my life I guess. I always have this fricking issue with games that let you replay missions to get a better rank.
I only managed to get A rank retrying it once. I wish how you get ranks was a bit more intuitive. It's hard to really get a grasp on what I'm doing wrong or where I need to improve to up my rank.

haven't died again til just now against sea spider, it did 7000 damage to me in one hit after i spent about 5 minutes strafing around effortlessly dodging everything and doing nonstop damage to him. So he's basically a huge damage sponge with an insta kill. so if i don't get it in the next 2 or 3 tries that's probably it for me, game is not worth this kind of frustration

I've been playing since the first game. Seems good so far but I really don't like how, unlike previous games, there is a large delay until the generator starts charging again after you boost or fire an energy weapon. I also don't like the fact that energy refills nearly instantly on the ground vs in the air. Seems like aerial builds aren't really viable.

Whoever recommended the laser shotgun is a king, the laser and plasma rifles are shit for AC fights whereas this has fast projectiles, very good concentrated damage and some chance of doing damage if the hit isn't totally direct
