They didn't really change anything about PvE other than having some new weapons. The new pulse missiles trivialize Snailteus and Ayre though since they rape shields and have longer useful range than bubbles

Hard lock is not good as people shit post about especially for quads early game quads is all about having good altitude control unless your get staggered and stay in the air like a headless chicken. Though they do have the ease of use of having no issue to stay up in the air pelt target that are mostly grounded
I don't know what advices to give, it's the kind of game you typically play by yourself by trying builds and fricking around in the garage. Looking up for builds and build tips would kill a large part of the fun about fricking around in the garage.
There's no mistakes to be made by new players too because you can't go into debt, you can replay the missions to buy new weapons and if you don't like one you can sell it back at full price anyway.
But I can give you basic tips about multiplayer.
In team never engage if you're the last member alive or if your only teammate is staggered and with low HP, nothing fun about 3vs1.
People get pissy if you don't use the voice lines when entering a lobby, just say nice to meet you when entering one.
Don't spam kick unless you want to be kicked back by the whole team.
Learn to recognize missile rats in the lobby, Black folk full missiles using a tetrapod and staying in the air covering the map with missiles. It's not fun to play against.
Oh yeah important if you use energy weapon, check your core stats for generator output adjustment, supply adjustment etc, also check generator for energy firearm spec stats. They have an impact on the damage done by your energy weapon, your en adjustment etc...
Also your head part decides how good your scanning abilities are, how far you can scan, how long it takes to recharge.

I mean text lines to use in the lobby chat, it's not a free chat it uses already written sentences.
Just play around with builds until you hit a wall and just find out that works to get past certain walls
Ransetsu RF is a very easy to use and effective gun if you use two of them.
Bigger missile racks aren't always better, smaller ones aside from having less reqs reload much faster to compensate for their small volley.
Soft lock can be superior if you are able to track the target well and keep them in the middle of the screen. If you struggle with that hard lock is better and easier.
A boost speed of 350 or higher can be nice in pve to passively avoid a lot of stuff by strafing.
Most bosses can be trivialized by making a light, fast AC with nothing but missiles and just kiting them while maintaining constant pressure.

You either eat shit or make it out on top. You'll be more flustered about not being able to keep up with someone in PvP instead of eating it to some busted build. General rule of thumb for lobbies if it's loser stays then the host is usually subpar at the game and/or they want people to get better so those are your best options if you're looking to get into PvP.

Viable they give a ton of Health, incredible Carry weight and basically are walking fortress just don't be surprised when lightweights start to Zip all over you and basically use Heavy weapons and use the charge sometimes

New parts are neat. Good for a light energy build which was hard to pull off and light MG spam. The new back laser is a cool finisher.
Heavy MG is a stagger machine, and the energy missiles are surprisingly good for a primary thanks to scaling off en supply, having okay stats, and the lowest energy drain of any energy hand weapons

Did 2 hours of PvP. My opinion so far.
1. Map selection is shit. It is just 3 barren open maps. Really wish they've included city maps instead as I believe they are much more dynamic.
2. Chicken legs are fricking pointless.
3. Everyone is runing permanently flying biped with hold-mouse-buttons-to-kill weapons. I've only encountered one different build and it was permanently in the sky rocket boat. Not super engaging. (Having city maps instead of wastelands would have helped).
Also - tank legs are pure rng wether you get small barren wasteland map and autowin with raw stats, or huge barren wasteland map and get kited to death.
Still the same shit game, same shit barren flat maps, same shitty playstyle with Black folk flying away throwing missiles or kittin with rifles
Oh and discord Black folk teaming up with the same loadout and rushing at your position if you're facing someone in 1vs1 and gaining the upper hand.
Close combat with ocellus and low range weapons is basically dead with this.

The maps are adapted to the kind of gays still playing it. You don't want buildings or structures getting in the way of kite and missile players. It might prevent them from hard-locking you and force them to actually play.

Honestly it shouldn't be that big of issue to run on Low and even on Low it still looks decent and runs at a stable 60fps on my end. Though most open area missions will have some drops while arena/ Closed off arenas run like butter.

Tets are slower on the ground (because they're heavy as shit). Really need to make use of their hover ability or there's no point.
Tonks go fast in a line, have a lot of HP, and generally high stability but can't really fly for shit unless you're using the boat. Also they cant strafe in the same way other legs can, they gotta actually turn. Their movement in general is sorta weird since you move around more like a derby car than a guy on skates.

Having to manually move your screen to put a gay jumping robot in a box is much more interactive than having to do literally nothing at all. The rate at which you could turn your box was also limited by your part selection so you had to position yourself carefully. There was a lot of care an nuance put into the old system. This new style is just lazy and makes AC6 look like legions of mecha actions games a la Gundam, ZoE, etc.

When the game came out it was very successful and I think everyone's happy with what the single player provided. But all I heard from normalgays when speaking about pvp was that the game online was kinda boring, they stated that they'd just fly around, tap the shoulder buttons and eventually get bored.

One of my biggest peeves with the game's lore is that they hype up a lot of the other pilots as these TOP TIER DEMONS OF WAR AND COMBAT but then when you actually fight them in the story chapters, they're too pussy to 1v1 you and they either have a bunch of goons for backup (G1 Michigan) or they fight you 2v1 (Cinder). It really made the characters lose credibility imo. Being able to summon a co-op buddy would at least even the odds during these bullshit encounters.

The Rusty fight in the story was my fave fight because it was just 2 talented pilots scrapping it out. Bullshit like G1 and Cinder just makes their characters seem cowardly/underhanded which I guess might've been on purpose.

Most pilots don't give a shit about being good duelists or their arena rank. They have their objective and they want to kill you. Michigan is top dog in a literal army, of course he's going to drown you in mooks. If you want to duel someone go talk to O.G. Raven or Frued.

At the end of the day the core gameplay didn't change. Dual zimmer AB rush or ranged missle and AOE spam from as far away as possible are still all the game boils down to. Other weapons like rifles aren't even fun because they plink as soon as your farther than 250 meters and they barely hit at that range anyway since the projectiles are so damn slow. The fighting game angle doesn't work here, since it's build your own character and you can't balance around each different fighter.
Does the game ever get easy? I wanna play a mech game but I'm not in the mood to be stressed. The first boss took me like three tries and I know he's a bit of a barrier for folks, but I dunno if eventually you get strong enough that you feel powerful.

That's because hard lock is THAT MUCH better. If it was actually as bad as copers initially touted then you would see KBM dominate.
You can blame ricochet and projectile speed for that. Only thing it was good for was weapons with fat hitboxes like Nebula. Increase the overall range of the game and keep away playstyle more real and you’ll see less complaints about hard lock.

Hard lock on just needs more negatives going for it. It needs to have much more of an aiming debuff and more importantly as just a passive thing to increase the overall range of firefights in the game. That debuff to aiming probably would have been fine in other ac games, but this one is very close to your face with or without it due to projectile speed and just ideal range. I have no problem with hard lock on if they were right in my face and used for melee follow ups and near point blank fire, but like I said, the game plays too close to your face already for its current detriments to be enough.
I hope there is a DLC expansion. There are so many terrorists in the universe that need Freedom rained down on them.

Is long range still kinda shitty apart from missile spam?
Yes. It won't be good until they greatly increase every range limit and increase overall bullet velocity
Supposedly most matches are still either knife fights or unlimited missile works from the other side of the map
missile spam isn't long range, there's a different fcs for that
the only thing I can think of for long range is bazookas and grenade launchers, since they have payload damage, not kinetic or heat energy to lose.
But then you deal with missing every shot because of travel time.
The needle cannon is really only a mid-range weapon. It's ideal range is the literal end of mid, after that you not only deal with increased likelihood of a miss by dodging, but ricochet as well.
Charged lasers are technically longer range, but you have the same problem.
You know if they had sniper cannons in the game, manual aim might actually be worth something

The trick to beating Ibis is dodging in the opposite direction of where the attacks are coming from. Also, you can avoid the big attacks by flying up.

If you're having trouble just make sure you're hard locked properly, I am not joking when I say that fight goes from one of the hardest fights in the game to one of the easiest when you're locked on. Just don't touch your camera, let it track for you and IBIS can never leave your screen no matter how fast or far it spazzes out

I have been playing like an ape since I have gotten dual gatlings. During the "Eliminate 'Honest' Brute" mission, I have realized the error in my ways by running out of everything by the end and having to punch the shit out of the enemy AC to finish things off.

stick with them, dual gatts are a decade old tradition.
Go back through the Honest Brute mission and make sure you loot all the items. Particularly there's a container near the laser tripwire lightshow near the start that holds the Bad Cook, a flamethrower. It's a great weapon for killing small fry and more "honest" than Gats, if you are so inclined.

The mechs would range from japanese-style humanoid gundams to tanks on legs and arm-less Battletch mechs, but also weird thin walkers like the power armors from Brigador.

Pulse missiles don't benefit from energy spec. I think the only 'missile' type that does is the Aurora.

They're pretty damn solid as a primary. I made a light missile boat with the new parts, two of them, and two of the 6cell V missiles that works well.
If you want to go thicker it can be your pressure stagger builder that can be paired with either more of the same or burst stagger weapons and a high direct hit weapon for when they do stagger.
Something like pulse missile X2, chain gun, stun needle or pulse missile, Zim, 6 cell missile, trueno
Or since hand missiles don't give a shit about arm stats, basho arms and a strong melee like the lance or pile with other close range options on the back like spread zook, songbird, chaingun, diffuse laser rifle ect

Can someone recommend me some shoulder weapons to use for PvP with this build? I've just been using the turrets because I can't find anything else that works well.
Orbits are pretty damn good. That with twin shotguns is nice stagger build and burst. You need something that capitalizes on stagger though. I guess you'd be fine just kicking them

Yeah kicks kinda rock. It'll be hard to get the timing down but thanks to twin shotguns you'll be pretty close anyway. So adjusting to the timing will be easier
I feel like too many people are using the HAL core and legs, I see them everywhere.
I was using Mind Alpha before this when I was just playing PvE but the HAL core is an upgrade in basically every single stat over it so I put that on for PvP

For instance the new lammergeier arms have shit firearm spec stats for the wep I use but I'm using it sometimes because it looks good.

Hal core has good def specs and excellent generator adjustment. It's stability leaves a lot to be desired but eh.
The legs are kinda crazy good. One of the best stats to weight of any part.
At those weights I'd rather just use mind alpha but that's me

I kinda hate it because of the bazooka buff. The netcode hasn't ever been perfect but the zook speed buff combined with the netcode gives excellent scenarios where you watch yourself dodge the rocket, it sales past you, wait a second, and then suddenly get a ton of damage and ACS strain.
It feels so much worse than Zim ever did
They just reduced their blast radius so maybe it's better. I dunno. Haven't played PvP yet

So is there any reason to run any kind of loadout in this game other than 2 of the same main weapon to build up stagger bar and then 2 of the same shoulder weapon to blow up whatever you staggered? Every single loadout seems to look like this.
Well you can't run 2 melee weapons

AC6 is so poorly designed that this was a legitimate way to rapidly kill bosses when I played

It doesn't, they are plenty of builds that don't focus on stagger build up.
Even then, I wonder why they even bother with giving you 4 weapon slots if you always run the same weapon in both hand/shoulder slots without exception

This isn't even close to being true, most of the best weapon combos use different weapons.
There's three damage types so a good gun for each means you're doing damage vs whoever you fight.
Usually I do missiles for constant harassment, high direct hit adjustments weapon. And two consistent primaries. Usually one KE and one EN
if you play pve the coral oscillator and its busted charge attack is already better than 2 same main weapons outside of very select few missions where it sucks and you want redshift instead

The only weapons that were meh for the story before were the ones that didn't have nearly enough ammo to be used as a primary gun and those all got their ammo doubled/tripled so sure I guess

It was never crazy hard and most weapons and frame parts have had consistent buffs so it can only feel a bit easier. Even the nerfs didn't make those weapons useless, just more in line. Twin SG and songbirds are still fine
