>aRPG like Diablo
What should be done to bring the genre back from oblivion? I think that RPG part is good as it is, you just need to improve action aspect.
It's All Fucked Shirt $22.14 |
DMT Has Friends For Me Shirt $21.68 |
It's All Fucked Shirt $22.14 |
render grind a thing of the past and make all the chracter levels you're questing for memerable
you should think back to each moment, level 11 - 12, level 36 -37, and you should think that they were just as fun and impactful as the level you are currently working toward.
>What should be done
More Diablo 2-style Necromancers.
The skeleton army spam is extremely fun kino and it's a shame no one even tries to replicate it.
This, but not limited to Necromancy.
More ARPGs should vary core gameplay styles both through classes and itemization. Make the wizard play different than the barbarian than the necromancer than the ranger, but then also give them uniques and items that drastically change what they can do (on theme, but substantial shfits).
Give players reasons to play more characters and give them means to transfer items to characters that benefit from these shifts and stats.
The focus should be on driving a fun loop of playing something wild and then finding something wild to make playing the something even better or give them means to do something different. Loot as a means as well as an end.
The dancing zig zagging you would do to get a hold of projectile shooting enemies while not over extending and bringing a train of mobs down on you was the soul of diablo 1. it wasn't just a pile of trash endlessly. The fact that the bosses were actually with proper equipment able to be handled instead of the shitty act bosses of d2 which without overgearing or leveling overwhelmed you in stupid fashion. The boss fights were simply unfun. Diablo 2 berserker is such a shitty little homosexual compared to characters who can just sit back and pet dump and avoid bullshit freeze effects etc. Frick melee really let me down in d2
Gungeon feels like the right way of the genre development, if only developers had more faith in their own game and made it more serious and deep in terms of gameplay.
the obsession with balance ruins the game for everyone
i don't care if a player with 11k hours destroy the endgame, thats not the baseline devs should work with
>endgame
This is the worst thing that happen to the genre and every MMO autistic deserves eternal torment in hell for making it happen.
tru
Nothing, PoE is peak aRPG already.
PoE is one of the worst games ever made. PoE isn't even playable anymore because a randomly spawning rare mob can be 100 times stronger than the chapter boss and one-shot you. And even in its normal state it's just an autistic trade menu simulator.
PoE coper.
For autists.
Maybe if they make the billion crafting systems actually usable
instead of spending 1000 hours of farming to roll 1 gacha
if you're lucky you get something to sell to another player
for 10% of what it will cost
get what you actually want to use for your build
>endless grinding
>inventory is constantly full from all the filler shit that every enemy drops
>skills and stats just boil down to +0.0000001% increases
Yeah nah, this game is for brainless drool-dripping morons
>endless grinding
that's literally genre defining feature
>inventory is constantly full from all the filler shit that every enemy drops
use better better loot filter
>skills and stats just boil down to +0.0000001% increases
PoE has way more unique stats and ways to modify your character than any other ARPG.
>PoE has way more unique stats and ways to modify your character than any other ARPG.
And they're all shit, except the few that aren't.
back to your containment thread, Neon
have a nice day already you fat homosexual, before the CCP does it for you
>I think that RPG part is good as it is, you just need to improve action aspect
You got that completely ass-backwards. There is no actual RPG content in any ARPG except numbers that go up. You have no roleplaying opportunities, no quests beyond "kill boss", no puzzles, no ways to interact with the world except killing and looting. They are not RPGs in any real sense and that is the part that should be drastically expanded.
Fricking brilliant arguments moron
>remove the boring-ass campaign section
>copy poe maps etc without some of the dumb shit
>make a new and better trading system (not easy but I believe it's possible)
>don't make it look/run/feel like shit
>add qol/autism features like target dummies, damage meters, autopickup, infinite searchable stash
>make good and fun classes, skills, trees, whatever
>remove the boring-ass campaign section
Frick off mmotard.
But every MMO has a boring-ass 10-100 hour tutorial campaign, isn't that what you want?
Yes, and this is how you distinguish MMOtard from arpg fans, fans know that campaign in classic arpgs has always been fun, only mootard that projects its own genre on arpgs can demands to remove campaign.
anon, I dont dislike campaigns and I absolutely, completely hate mmos
however, doing the campaign a thousand times gets old as all frick
adventure mode is good as an option, just so that you know
>doing the campaign a thousand times
This is what make an old ARPGs fun, if you want an eternal game you can frick off to MMORPG or PoE.
Titan Quest is all I need for my Diablo game needs, Last Epoch seems promising though.
>Fire druid might not be meme anymore
>The new charm will potentially make Sorc better than hammerdins
Wonder if they are as bullshit to get as Infinity
Improve upon PoE's skill tree and gem system, with focus on contitionals, cast on crit etc.
Make the campaigns not boring shit you have to suffer through to play the game
Make the game actually feel rewarding in endgame. No 0.00001% drop chance for a unique or 10000 different useless affixes.
everyone should play lord of the rings two towers on game boy advance, then lord of the rings return of the king on gameboy advance. Based diablo clones where you can be a bunch of the different characters.
