>WAHHHH MY SPREADSHEET SIMULATOR DOESN'T HAVE ENOUGH VARIABLES TO MAKE ME FEEL SMART FOR COPYING BUILDS!
This genre is plagued with people who are allergic to actual gameplay. Diablo 4 is definitely closest to what I've been looking for in an ARPG but I still feel like nothing has completely hit the spot.
>Diablo 4 is definitely closest to what I've been looking for in an ARPG but I still feel like nothing has completely hit the spot.
It's still not easy enough for the mentally moronic?
>I've been looking for in an ARPG but I still feel like nothing has completely hit the spot.
It's the skill. Nothing feels satisfying. Literally all there is to it. Bad skill designers at blizzard I guess.
Torchlight—it added a dog that would take your drops and sell them in town so you didn't have to stop killing.
Yes, ARPGs are in such a state that this is innovation.
>new stuff
no that's bloat that has been done elsewhere in different forms
a shrine that instead spawns 5 dudes instead of giving a buff is not innovation
This. As someone who has played a lot of both Diablo and PoE I can say that they are not in competition for me. If I want a game that plays quick and feels great mechanically, I play Diablo, if I want a deep game to really delve into, I play PoE. Same genre, different approaches. To use a food analogy Diablo is fast food, PoE is a full meal. Both have their place.
>say the game isn't based on trading >constantly make things with a .001% drop rate >only way to get them is to trade >entire game is run by discord and RMT cartels
>people calling these types of games ARPGs
When the frick did this start? They're not rpgs, they're hack and slashes. Have been since the first Diablo. Stop mislabling genres you fricking tards.
>Live Action CRPG = ARPG
This has to be fricking bait. You call me a zoomer while spouting pure nonsense like this?
Baldurs Gate is a CRPG
Pathfinder is a CRPG
Icewind Dale is a CRPG
Diablo is NOT a fricking CRPG
Just because they share a top down perspective does not make Diablo a CRPG. There are no role-playing mechanics, the gear is generated entirely randomly, the story is secondary to the combat.
They used to be called hack'n'slash RPGs in the first place.
I remember earlier action rpgs had parties like their turn based predecessors.
Dungeon Siege 1 and 2 had parties but 3 was solo.
Everything is being dumbed down.
i'm busy making my own and i don't want to give blizz my money, so could someone tell me if the itemization is better than in D3? i was so put off but the pre-DLC itemization that i dropped it then and didn't bother playing it again.
Yes, that's a good way of putting it. I don't think Blizzard looked any modern ARPGs before making D4. They didn't try to move the genre forward at all, they just shit out garbage and marketed it to hell and back.
I wish this genre was actually good. >D4 plagued by Blizzard design >"fun detected" nerfs already being dished out >PoE is an autistic rat's nest of systems that requires multiple 3rd party programs to engage with >all of those systems result in a build that spams one button and reserves 90% of its mana with the same auras as every other build >Last Epoch has the best class design >boring endgame and has been early access for years >Grim Dawn builds are all turn on auras then vomit effects on screen with one button >Wolcen still has the best campaign >also still randomly rolls back online characters 3 years later
I didn't do shit, hate the devs that decided to go with cryengine and the whatever programmers fricked up everything server-side. Also the dipshit that decided to launch with next to no endgame.
>press "auto" button and sleep while game plays itself, literally don't have to do anything >Mmo gacha shit drops are not unique mean a legendary sword have less damage than some common dagger >Spam attack button, tank damage and heal, literally no brain combat and is just a number game >Talk to npc, take quest, gather 20 leaf, come back get you gold
Holy shit who even like this cancer genre
D4 is trash, PoE will save the genre (again). Chris Wilson is a genius.
Call me when Grim Dawn 2 happens.
>Diablkek 4
>Path of Excrements 2
>Grim Yawn 2
Geez, ARPG fans are really fricked, aren't they.
>snoozefest simulator
>stock market simulator
When we will get a ARPG about actual action?
>stock market simulator
This is unironically my favorite part of the game
>WAHHHH MY SPREADSHEET SIMULATOR DOESN'T HAVE ENOUGH VARIABLES TO MAKE ME FEEL SMART FOR COPYING BUILDS!
This genre is plagued with people who are allergic to actual gameplay. Diablo 4 is definitely closest to what I've been looking for in an ARPG but I still feel like nothing has completely hit the spot.
Are you too young to have played D2 with mods? I feel sorry for you.
>Diablo 4 is definitely closest to what I've been looking for in an ARPG but I still feel like nothing has completely hit the spot.
It's still not easy enough for the mentally moronic?

>hold left click and occasionally press the 1 key
>Largest D4 stream is a guy who's stream is embedd on Maxroll because the traffic is so high
Explain yourselves D4babs?
>I've been looking for in an ARPG but I still feel like nothing has completely hit the spot.
It's the skill. Nothing feels satisfying. Literally all there is to it. Bad skill designers at blizzard I guess.
Call me when a game actually tries to pursue innovation in this genre.
What was the last arpg to try something new? fricking Hellgate London?
Torchlight—it added a dog that would take your drops and sell them in town so you didn't have to stop killing.
Yes, ARPGs are in such a state that this is innovation.
Are you dumb? PoE tries new stuff every damn league, and they are about to release a sequel with tons of new systems

Come to SSF land, white man.
PoE will never be as big as Diablo, and that's a good thing. We don't want the KFC audience, we already have redditors and that's enough
>people calling these types of games ARPGs

Braindead Zoomie
Live Action CRPG = ARPG
Let me guess you think Soulslop are "ARPG" and game where you just spam R1 and roll around.

No.
They have skill trees and stats and gear
Its an rpg
Fricking asscreed has skill trees and gear. It's not an rpg moron. Stop baiting.
Asscreed is an rpg
I said stop baiting
*takes hand off dick*
asscreed is an rpg
Google it
Latest asscreed is an rpg
The older ones somewhat qualified too
Autistic moron
nobody wants you here on Ganker
They used to be called hack'n'slash RPGs in the first place.
>When the frick did this start?
You can blame DMC and game critics for that'n
I remember earlier action rpgs had parties like their turn based predecessors.
Dungeon Siege 1 and 2 had parties but 3 was solo.

You like to eat shit?

D4's itemization is the same as D3. It's trash.
so nothing's been learned in that last decade? unfortunate.
Yes, that's a good way of putting it. I don't think Blizzard looked any modern ARPGs before making D4. They didn't try to move the genre forward at all, they just shit out garbage and marketed it to hell and back.
ARPG are shit tier brainless hack and slash games.
I am sure the autism levels out of all the types of games, ARPG games has the highest.

This is true and whenever I'm reminded of this it causes me physical pain. I fricking hate you.
