With the story feeling like it's coming to some kind of a close, achievement trackers coming to an end and Infinity coming out soon™ it's safe to assume AQW will barely last another year.
That being said, it's pathetic how much of a last hurrah these events and items have been. The navals were shit, Penis Doomknight the "ultra boss slayer" was garbage, black friday stuff is the worst it's ever been, virtually nothing to look forward to for Frostval, it's just sad. So my tips for any dev /here/ that wants to make next year the last proper farewell;
1) Every seasonal shop that comes out now has every single item released for that shop hereby destroying the rare gays once and for all and earning the FATTEST paycheck you've ever seen in your miserable lives since Artix's autism halted the production of a Dragonfable animated series.
2) SSS tier giga class. Better than LR and VHL, borderline invincible with the most cum draining nuke we've ever seen next to Timekiller. Make it insanely difficult to get but offer vastly different routes. Maybe players can use AC's to buy merge items like Elemental Warrior or farm dailies or kill ultras or go on a big LoO/DoT tier quest. Idk but you might as well just have a final definitive class that can wreck shit because who cares anymore.
3) Bring the story to a satisfying conclusion. All the big bads are dead, hero and friends live happily ever after in Battleon. No fricking joke shit either, if it turns out the player was dreaming the whole time after falling off the cliff I WILL delete my fricking 15 year old character and denounce AE for eternity.
"But you can import into AQW Infinity!" make it so you can't import classes and just soft reboot the classes in Infinity. This is a great chance to finally bring back begging for help in /battleon and having to organize a party that all went extinct when multitarget self heal classes became too prevalent.
Posting this because AE might be done with AQW, and I most certainly am too.

Nah bro, the cape is fine, the wedge heels just don't look right on those boots tho. Still prefer A the most, if only it had better saturation and the colors didn't look like Zack Snyder fed it thru a stone-wash.

Is it a good idea to farm ArchMage using just Blaze Binder and DoT or should I stop trying to rush? Can't join the legion because I only have 500 ACs and currently waiting for frostval event.
What Forge enhancements do you have? Not worth it if you don't have or plan to get Elysium/Acheron.
Valiance AM is theoretically amazing, but is painful to use. AM without Forge is not worth the effort.
Not to mention at your current level you will have extreme difficulties doing Supernova and Arcane Sigil.
I would recommend getting Valiance first since you already have DroT which is one of the requirements.
Valiance is great on endgame classes like DroT & LR, then decide afterwards what class to farm.

I got Void Essentia, Divine Will, Insatiable Hunger, and Calamitous Ruin ahead of time because I checked pubs frequently. Not sure about the rest but I could just skip them by doing ultras (might need to level up?). Fire Champion Armor is the only prerequisite I need for Valiance. Things is going well for me I guess.

It's just the case of them using interesting names without actually considering the source material. The only "connection" is that the sea dragon is a mom or something.
Its more weirder because of the darkon storyline, some of the creatures are actually like the Black personmen with a darkon twist and its obvious the writer did research. I wouldn't be surprised if whoever created the pirate armor just looked Shub up thanks to the storyline, and called it a day.

After the seeing a bunch of AE threads on Ganker, I got my accounts for AQ/DF/MQ/AQW back, apparently untouched since 2009-2011. I'm glad that they're still there, even though I'm now stuck with the shitty usernames my kid ass came up with at the time.
I think I'll go pick up DF again, my favorite of the bunch. Is there some kind of progression guide? Good stuff to have/do in early or midgame, as all the in-depth guides I can find are for endgame.

A lot of the top classes are Shadowscythe adjacent, which is the point I was making, but you still have stuff like LoO, EDoT, Archmage, etc which could turn out to be better after testing. Point is that Evil is heavily pandered to, so it is just nice to see them take a loss for once and its always nice when Good items finally get made. The fact that players like the faction the most isn't a problem at all.

Evil faction is just anyone associated with the Shadowscythe as an ally, you don't get to claim every single bad guy in the game. For example, >Darkon is not related at all (MQ Shadowscythe kinda origin does not count), unless that occurs in the new saga >Nulgath was not really Evil faction until he did that truce thing with Legion >Mirror Twins (Normal Lore) both represent the concept of Evil, but are actually Chaos faction ingame >Lionfang is "evil" morally, but opposes the Evil faction as a "Good faction" villain
And so on. Otherwise you'd have to include neutral parties like Voltaire in Evil which is just silly.

According to my older tests, it seems like they just increased the DPS. Also, decay (last three seconds) is on the 5th skill. So, it's now a suitable LR replacement in ultra speaker.
Evolved Dark Caster in AQW.
Set the standard for classes going forward. Was the best solo multi-target boss farming class in the game and stayed that way for YEARS.
Also would've said Abyssal Angel but those frickers nerfed it twice and now it's C tier.

Abyssal Angel is S/A+ tier with Acheron/Elysium, but there are cheaper alternatives.

Chaos Avenger got buffed months ago, is tankier, does similar dps to VHL and have support capacity. And yes, it's a easy farm. VHL technically have better DPS when using dauntless enchantment.

I have no way nor context to start this conversation but I noticed a lot of people, with the latest naval release, chose to buy the Galanoth and Cysero ones. I've only ever seen a single person wearing Gravelyns Naval which imo only good good on female characters and is still inferior to the GOAT itself, Doomknight Naval Commander. Also frick Black folk who wear Legion Naval, that shit is ugly as frick.

Anyone else out there grinding NSoD but non-member without DK armor? Only thing left for me to do is to get the hilt one more time for the aura, and the 800 void auras for the sword itself. So far it took about three months.
After that I'll probably get one of the variations so that I'll have three 51% weapons for different forge enhancements. Then it's probably off to get Dauntless and Goddess of war.
Eh, I kinda enjoy it. I can just mindlessly spam skills in one window, and read or watch something in another. Takes me about an hour or two[/spoiler] to do the void aura quest once because I'm soling it, so at least it gives me something to do. I remember grinding good and evil rank10 back when daily quests weren't even a thing and for non-members you only had two quests that gave like 300 rep. It's kinda like that, except less tedious.

8th betrayal blade is legend only. This is the only sword (besides another, now rare, one who's name i've forgotten) that isn't for legends and isn't 'special offer'. So i'm tempted but at the same time it's 5 seconds faster than typing /join Yulgar-9889 so idk.

FRICK YOU! Nah you're right, this one is B tier at BEST. If you want S tier, look at Doomknight NC, Abyssal Angel NC, Brilliant NC, Cursed NC, Paragon NC or even Chaotic NC. (I didn't count the memey ones like Naval Cow-mander or Frostval Commandeer). Unfortunately these all require IoDA's nowadays which fricking sucks because I'd do damn near anything for a Doomknight NC rerelease (black friday idea? please devs, make it happen). inb4 "idc" I'm a massive autist moron when it comes to Navals, I love em despite only owning 4.
Not everything needs to be gatcha. If anything, I think they could tone down the fancy quirky armor sets. I remember the game starting out as this relatively low fantasy thing, where a paladin and a necromancer were the amongst most outlandish concepts. But member armor sets had to get fancier and fancier. It all went downhill with Dage.
Dage showing the dev team that they can, infact, make classes for 2000ACs and people WILL buy it had unspoken ramifications throughout the entire game still felt 11 years later.
I think Legion Revenant and LightCaster is the only paywall, you'd only need 1.2k ACs. Blood Titan or OmniKnight aren't relevant when you're going lategame.
There's a lot of little lore stuff in weird places. I like reading about all of the random parts of the Shadowscythe army and just wondering how all of it would look if it was in once place.

Just played Eden City and the small storyline leading up to it. Why did they abandon it bros? I didn't think it was 'that' amazing (i'm not a fan of future aesthetics) but I liked the characters and cosmetics were great.
Also had the pleasure of playing through some of the Darkon story as it totally bypassed me somehow. Fricking AWESOME. Probably the best content I've ever played in AQW save for some moments in the Chaos saga.

Just played Eden City and the small storyline leading up to it. Why did they abandon it bros? I didn't think it was 'that' amazing (i'm not a fan of future aesthetics) but I liked the characters and cosmetics were great.
Also had the pleasure of playing through some of the Darkon story as it totally bypassed me somehow. Fricking AWESOME. Probably the best content I've ever played in AQW save for some moments in the Chaos saga.

I was for a while too because I misunderstood the mechanic. Pay attention to the yellow text, it gives you clues that are usually pretty simple and kinda fun to figure out. Though I felt like half the rooms were a do-you-have-archmage check.

This is absolute fricking cancer. With six other autists and a carefully planned team we got it down to 1.5 whatever billion heath it has then it suddenly jumped back to 2 and wiped the party a second later. We had every support imaginable there.

There's isn't really any classes that can benefit from this. Not even DoT/PCM otherwise your damage or heals will be reduced.
Even though the REP is called "Grimskull Trolling," it would be a waste of time for players to have the prerequisites, go through the dungeon and weekly quests merely to earn a medicore enchantment... it must have some legitimate applications. Like having Hearty LOO (worsen your mana gain) to tank some hits in ultra bosses. Either way, the enchantment isn't worth getting at all. It's just too penalizing.
Just a FYI, if you're doing Ultra Speaker with a group follow this chart. This is after when Malgor got Magia Burn duration got changed. Pubs are still stubborn and are still following the outdated 4 man taunt strat that can lead to LOO suddenly dying from what I can recall.

Congrats! If you've played for eight(?) years, go to Nostalgia Quest and get use the NSoD to get the dualwield version. You can then use the BuyBack shop to get the single version. Two 51% damage boosts!
Thanks. And yeah I know, I plan on doing that right after I get the last 800 void auras for the other sword. Shouldn't be too long now, the whole NSOD took like three months altogether, and that includes having to get the stupid unenhanced hilt twice.

With the story feeling like it's coming to some kind of a close, achievement trackers coming to an end and Infinity coming out soon™ it's safe to assume AQW will barely last another year.
That being said, it's pathetic how much of a last hurrah these events and items have been. The navals were shit, Penis Doomknight the "ultra boss slayer" was garbage, black friday stuff is the worst it's ever been, virtually nothing to look forward to for Frostval, it's just sad. So my tips for any dev /here/ that wants to make next year the last proper farewell;
1) Every seasonal shop that comes out now has every single item released for that shop hereby destroying the rare gays once and for all and earning the FATTEST paycheck you've ever seen in your miserable lives since Artix's autism halted the production of a Dragonfable animated series.
2) SSS tier giga class. Better than LR and VHL, borderline invincible with the most cum draining nuke we've ever seen next to Timekiller. Make it insanely difficult to get but offer vastly different routes. Maybe players can use AC's to buy merge items like Elemental Warrior or farm dailies or kill ultras or go on a big LoO/DoT tier quest. Idk but you might as well just have a final definitive class that can wreck shit because who cares anymore.
3) Bring the story to a satisfying conclusion. All the big bads are dead, hero and friends live happily ever after in Battleon. No fricking joke shit either, if it turns out the player was dreaming the whole time after falling off the cliff I WILL delete my fricking 15 year old character and denounce AE for eternity.
"But you can import into AQW Infinity!" make it so you can't import classes and just soft reboot the classes in Infinity. This is a great chance to finally bring back begging for help in /battleon and having to organize a party that all went extinct when multitarget self heal classes became too prevalent.
Posting this because AE might be done with AQW, and I most certainly am too.
In the AQ Infinity FAQ they say that both game with run and be developed in parallel. They want AQ Infinity to catch up to AQW, but they won't shut AQW down even then. You will have a different leveling system in Infinity so it's kind of a soft reboot, and they may remove damage boost items too. You can use old stuff to flex and maybe access some exclusive content, but that's it. I guess they want a chance for new players to catch up to the meta, and to give them a reason to want to do that too, without a year of grinding shit.
By the way, early AQ3D had the exact OG MMO feeling you describe, having to organize parties and, you know, interact with other players? I still remember rushing the bridge guardian boss for the quest and for a weapon you couldn't even equip due to the level cap. Since then they removed this in favor of automated instances and you guessed it, zerg grind like in AQW. I have no faith in AE that they will figure out what a good MMO experience should be, not when the other leading studios of the genre don't either. They just follow the example and sprinkle in the usual AQW kill x mobs quests and grind. Though that's not to say your ideas were any better, all working off of the assumption that everyone is done with AQW. We've certainly had worse times of stagnation than what we have now.
Good point. I remember that solid year or two of borderline no AQW content when the AQ3D alpha came out. Which I agree, was kino as frick. I still remember parkouring on the tree beside Yulgar and killing that ogre boss for no reason. But that being said, I just feel like most, if not all, effort is going to be delegated to Infinity. I know Flash and Unity pretty well and can safely say they are two entirely different pieces of software with totally different import procedures. This is AE we're talking about, they are NOT going to double their own workload just to appease an older version of the same game. Hell, I'd put money on them force migrating accounts to Infinity and discontinuing flash AQW by the end of next year. But am I complaining? Frick no. A soft reboot is what AQW has needed for years.
I'd like to think that they learned from their mistake, and that's why they're putting in the effort to at least add mobs and dungeons with actual mechanics.
I don't know if I can truly believe in Artix's ideas ever again, but I will say that the game does seem to be on an upward spiral ever since around the time Beleen came back. Now I'm not saying those two things are necessarily connected, and I'm also not not saying that, but I will say that Beleen is best girl now and forever.

I agree anon, I miss when Dage used more shades of grey and even green on his items, now everything Dage themed is 100% black and blue. Hollowborn stuff is cursed because the items themselves are pretty well drawn, but everything is just black and boring.

What the frick dudes, I missed the Beta by literally one day, at least for my actual account. I was a stupid little frick and could only access the internet from school and libraries and always registered a new email and account, and by time I realized I can reuse the login (I also didn't speak English) the beta was over. Anyway, I'm thinking the DK armor you need for NSOD, since I won't ever pay for membership.

Man I still don't know what to think about this Black Friday release. Right off the bat, they recolored like 3 armors and called it a day so all that "we're listening to what players want" shit was a total lie. The standouts were easily the Hollowborn Paragon set and Legion Wolf set which thankfully can be brought using legion tokens, the rest range from "this is ugly" to "literally who asked for this?". Them not including the Hollowborn chest with the black friday chest was a bit israeli and it's clear that maybe the Paragon set was intended for that Hollowborn chest but AE desperately needed to pad out the Black Friday chest to justify the pricetag. The shadowslayer stuff and /blackfridayway drops were a nice surprise. Good looking sets and decent grinds. Cyber monday stuff is a shit load of frick, again, AE didn't listen and instead of making recolors just shat out some Cyberpunk stuff and called it a night. Really disappointed there's no new recolored classes. Hell, they could've just recolored Verus Doomknight I mean it only really just came out and it isn't an S tier class so no loss if people wanna buy it. Anyway, really really weird, easily the worst Black Friday I've experienced in a good long while, absolutely NOT looking forward to Frostval but I am looking forward to the complimentary IoDA's babey.
I largely agree, anon. Laser Ragnarok has to be one of my all time favorite items in the whole game, and that's after 15 years. All they had to do was shit out a bunch of neon items like that and it would have been miles better than what we got.

They just ask on twitter for what people want recoloured for Black Friday, Cyber Monday and the Beleen stuff. A good chunk of the items are usually decided by player polls and suggestions, which at a cursory glance seems to be what happened this year too.

I don't know what you were expecting, this is the same for literally every Black Friday and almost every update. The Hollowborn chest was explicitly never getting new items since at least 2 years ago, so Hollowborn anything was never intended for it and they're not "padding" the shop.
I don't know, anon. It just sounds like you don't like AE and don't read design notes, so you are making a lot of assumptions to me. The first part is fair, but the last two is just being silly.
Last year came with Antique Hunter and a shit load of armors, 2021 came with a ton of really cool recolors (sadly no class) and 2020 came with Shadow Dragon Shinobi (not really appetizing since you can farm for it) plus some decent recolors. This year's chest pales in comparison, which feels weird to say because they gave out a shit load of drops and merges that are pretty cool. All this chest seriously needed was a single recolored class, that's it, and it would've been cool.
As for the Hollowborn chest, TLaPD 2021's chest came with the Chaos Pirate chest from the previous year.

I never used bots for a looooong time, as in, over the course of my almost 15 year game time I spent 13 of those unbotted. As for Legion shit I have Mounted Paragon which is veeeeeery slightly worse, sometimes (apparently) comparable to Bright Paragon so my Tokens are always maxed out. Botted too of course. It is not indiscernible at all. If I hand you something for free it is not at all the same as you making or earning that thing yourself. That's very debatable and heavily dependent on which item you're trying to get. Similarly, someone toiling in the hot sun is still working hard and does still feel satisfaction with the work itself. The vast majority of meaningful stuff in the game is not locked behind botting, at best you'd only ever need to bot for the +50% DMG gear, classes and levels to reliably beat Ultra Bosses. You could definitely argue that alone is worth it, but I'd put my money on botters botting everything meaningless like the cosmetic stuff from Nulgath items to just the small weekly merge shops constantly too. There's always going to be a limit to what's "justified" or whatever, but personally I think feeling entitled to bot is just plain silly. I don't understand why people feel the need to justify their actions when they're only committing a morally neutral act anyway.

You know what was menial? Grinding evil rep back in the day, if you were a non-member. You had one decent quest to do so, it gave about 200 rep, and all you had to do was kill a couple of slimes in swordhaven by the pizza place. Just one if you were lucky, it wasn't a fixed droprate. There were no rep boosts back then, no reaccepting the quest automatically. You had to go to shadowfall, take up the quest, go to swordhaven, do it, and then repeat this process many, many times. Mind you, back then the map load times were much slower, and there was a chance of DCing. And if that happened, there was a chance your progress would be lost from that login. Imagine losing 5k rep like that. I did.
When shop and quest loaders became a thing, there was no shame in using them to just stay on the swordhaven map and do the quest without risking losing your hard earned rep. But the difference from botting is that the tedious part wasn't designed to be part of the grind. It was just the server infrastructure at the time. The LR, VHL, DOT, NSOD, whatever else grinds don't suffer from this. Oh, you have to repeat a quest a lot? Well it was designed to be like that. Being able to kill some boss is a soft check, but having the patience and determination to see it all through is the challenge. And again, I ask, to what end do you even do this? It's not like the rest of the game was any less tedious, with all the slay x mobs and fetch quests. And these items aren't even the meta anymore, you don't get no coll points for afking with them in yulgar.

It all comes down to personal preference and your level of tolerance, for some people even just an hour of grinding one map might be too much and for others they'd be fine with much longer. Same for quests, some quests are garbage long grinds (pretty much everything like Nulgath gear or NSoD type stuff) and some are good long grinds (EDoT, Archmage minus the gold costs, some reps, etc). For me I just work towards items I think are cool and play dress up, unironically. I like being a nerd and coordinating outfits that match the events unfolding in the story or what I think the Hero might wear. Chaos set for the Chaos finale, Christmas gear for Christmas, EDoT themed outfit when I'm doing the latest main storylines, etc. There honestly isn't much else to do in the game besides grind and play dress up, maybe decorating your house (if you're a whale) or doing ERP with the one random horny guy who always shows up.

Yes, a daily quest for about 1k rep a day. It was a nice addition, but it didn't make a dent in the larger scale of things.

Elysium looks pretty good since it's limited/balanced by its unique mana model.

It looks like the way they're limiting it to 6 shots is that 6 shots costs 90 mana not that there are 6 stacks that it consumes.
Vim will make the auto attack cost 10 and Mana Vamp has a 80% chance to give 10 mana each shot with 0 second cooldown.
That's a lot of extra shots without needing to reload.
Plus Elysium only gives its mana as 4 mana a second.
But the auto attack is so fast that you want it faster than in a second and you would want more than 4 if you have to wait a whole second.

People likely base it off memory, not realizing farms got easier or there's viable alternatives.
Aside from Ultras, there's dailies for Spirit Orbs/Void Auras and BoA drop-rates got buffed.
Also, the IoDA list is cumulative of all time so unsure how many people redeem those now.
It's way better than DoT and you can use it to mindlessly spam while farming stuff. Idk about CaV, but I'm willing to bet it's easier to use. Plus you can stack 2x50% dmg reduction, so it's pretty versatile.

Not worth farming unless you plan on getting Dauntless eventually.
There's only a few percent DPS difference between VHL and CAv with Valiance.
If you only spam skills they tie, while CAv is also tankier and more versatile.
With Dauntless VHL hits harder, but other, easier classes also reach that DPS.
Though realistically, if you can get Dauntless both VHL and CAv will be trivially.
Also, you should keep DroT around, it's better than VHL and CAv for party DPS.
In particular, on Untagged/Ultra/Challenge mobs and in 4+ player rooms.
This all really comes down to "what's the point?".
To grind. To bot. To get that 51% weapon. To get an S tier class. For what? What makes NSoD more appetizing than a 30-40% weapon that is MARGINALLY easier to get? 11% can't possibly make all the difference in world, but let's say it does, again, for what? To kill Ultras? Why do you want to kill Ultras, for S tier classes? These classes that'll kill bosses faster, again, for. what. If you're already tackling an Ultra you most likely already have a class that can solo 99.99% of enemies in the game. Oh but what about LR, yes the farming class that requires you to kill tens of thousands of enemies so that... you can farm faster... And why would you need to, assuming you already have a good farming class, actually it's a guarantee you already have a good farming class since who tf would do LR as a Mage or Warrior?
The point is, AQW has alternatives to everything and those alternatives are significantly easier/faster to obtain with only very very very minor drawbacks. You can sit here and tell me exactly why you so desperately needed VHL and NSoD, but I know for a fact you don't need either to play through the Chaos saga or Darkon's Elergy of Madness or the Dragon Egg saga or Frostval events, Mogloween events, birthday events, etc. AQW is infinitely more fun as a dress up game like that other anon put it, and absolutely mind numbing as a minmax game, so however players want to cut down on time and maximize their enjoyment through actually playing the game is not for me nor anyone else to decide.
Personally, I play solo whenever possible, so all the little upgrades culminate to "unlocking" new stuff I can then do. The different classes can be used for different challenges, like in the infernal arena or the latest grimskull dungeon. If I can get that +11% damage I'll be able to reliably solo the prismatas so I'll be able to do do the archmage bonus quest alone (for the most part). I don't usually afk or erp or whatever, and I wear the same set for years on end. But this type of gamestyle keeps me goal-oriented and busy.
You're working to get better equipment so that you can work slightly easier to get even better equipment. As I said in my post, you don't need half the shit this game throws at you, it's all fluff designed to waste your time so that you can more efficiently waste your time. You don't need to beat Infernal Arena. You don't need a 51% weapon. You don't need Archmage. You need to find a better hobby that'll reward you for spending time or, at the very least, find a better game that doesn't blatantly disrespect its players by wasting their time. I write this with concern, not hate.
The same is true for playing dress-up. You're still just trying to justify your actions for botting and totally not samegayging. There's a way to cut down on the grind if you feel like it's too much, it's called pay to win. You can just get a calendar class or membership to make grinds much easier, or even IODA these items, or buy some middle-the-road classes straight from the AC shop. And hey, paying is the only way to adequately play dollhouse anyway, otherwise your options are hilariously limited. What you're justifying is your refusal to paypig, and nothing else. To be fair it does give access to the ultra boss boosted armor. There's a tangible reason to want it other than the class.
There's are multiple easy 35% armours, which you only need 1 of since you can't enhance them.
Armour/Class Forge enhancements would be cool, but if the farm is anything like the capes...

I know. I'm playing it. I'm extremely skeptical of their claim that they're going to convert everything considering they more action oriented twist they seemingly want to do for Infinity.
How do you guys feel about the Infinity test? The framerate is nice but visually it doesn't look too good and the converted, thinner outline on items looks particularly bad. I also don't like the new animations for the characters and some of the monsters. Milton carried AQW on his back alone and it shows.
Only played for ~30mins since I'm on Linux, but felt alright. I prefer thinner outline for raster graphics.
Hoping the animations are placeholders, swinging weightless weapons while running is still shit.

I get you, anon. I definitely used up the first one on SDKA, but then the second to get a rare armor from like a decade back I used to wear on a private server. It has a lot of sentimental value for me since I made friends there I keep in contact with even to this day, and I already had every other piece of the same set.

The Shadowflame saga involved all the major factions, not just Chaos, and Chaos's last direct appearance in that saga was over a year ago.

I know. I'm playing it. I'm extremely skeptical of their claim that they're going to convert everything considering they more action oriented twist they seemingly want to do for Infinity.
Seeing as AQInfinity uses your character, what happens if you try to go back to AQW? Is your level and items reset? What about Umbra, can you use it in Flash AQW?
How do you guys feel about the Infinity test? The framerate is nice but visually it doesn't look too good and the converted, thinner outline on items looks particularly bad. I also don't like the new animations for the characters and some of the monsters. Milton carried AQW on his back alone and it shows.

Once it (Grimlite) is downloaded and extracted, open it up. You should get the AQW login screen but with Skyguard characters and it should say Latest Release: Grimlite on it.
Login, find a server (literally any, I've never had an issue with Artix or Yorumi so don't be scared to pick high pop counts).
We're going to make the dumbest fricking bot possible just to get the idea of what to do.
Click Bot on the very top of the client and in the drop down hit Manager.
A new scary window should pop up with loads of options.
Click Combat and in the "Kill / Attack" sort of box, click Kill.
If you click Start at the bottom left under the big aisle box (this is where your instructions go), your character will begin auto attacking any random enemy in the room. Obviously we want some skills too right?
Underneath the Start button it should say Commands. Click it and swap it to Skills. This is just another tab within the aisle that pertains to skills.
Back on the right side, assuming you're still on the Combat tab, look under the "Skill Set" box. There should be an editable box that says "Skill Set Name".
Click it and change the name to "Piss" or "Fart" or whatever you want. Then hit "Add Skill Set" and "Use Skill Set".
On the left aisle, only the name you gave will show up. Don't worry, the "Use Skill Set" button is a command we just added to the Command aisle. So don't worry about it for now.
Back on the right side under "Skill Set" box again, you have a number (1) and Add Skill and also a Safe Skill.
The number means which skill you're selecting and Add Skill obviously adds it to the Set.

I don't even know what to feel anymore
I'm surprised how little AE leans into making houses. Sure, there's already quite a handful but once you get the Shadowfall Fortress you really don't need anything else. Why don't they make a house with a front door that can be unlocked by the owner? (this wouldn't be hard since Astavia in Flux and Hidden Subway already exist to build off of). Why isn't there a house with enemies in it? Or a house with an exclusive in-house questline? Or a house that can bring you to an exclusive map? There's SO much they can do with housing and it's annoying they do frickall with it.
Only bringing this up because I was comparing last years Frostval tiers to this years and last years was 200% better, largely because of 1k Gravelyn but also because the houses were really neat. Fat shame we're only getting one house this year for 10k and the yet-to-be-seen Chaos twin pet for a disgusting 5k.
I've always wanted the House Guards/Guests to do random animations befitting the creature or stuff like bowing down when you pass by, also I did suggest before that every house could get extra rooms or the armor/bank via gold/ac so that nobody is stuck with same house due to room count and other mechanics.
Would be cool too if your pets can be stationed there.
House guards would be the PERFECT opportunity to have player-controlled mobs. Dump a couple legion skeleton guards in your second room and it forces players to battle them, as though you're breaking into their home and they're just doing their job. And yeah, some literal room customization would be really cool. My Bright Fortress has been sitting in my bank for a few years because there's nothing worth using it for.
Also travelling merchants would be pretty cool. You arrive back at your home to find an NPC standing there who offers to sell you stuff.
Christ we can come up with awesome ideas all day, it's just a shame ya boy Artix doesn't do jack shit about it.
Based. Fricking wondered when I would see threads like this. I want to buy the new $100 AQClassic sets, but I honestly don't think I can work enough overtime to afford them, real life is so fricking expensive now.
Torn on that tbh, I love them both but $200 is even more unrealistic a price to blow on pixels rn. I'm leaning towards Fallen but Infernal has that demonic look which is cool too, and I do tend to lean towards Darkness more than Fire too much.
I finally decided to do it bros. I decided to take the Legion Revenant plunge.
Did each quest once by hand then the rest using a bot, never used Ultra Dage not even for the conquest wreaths (which was stupid looking back).
Legion Fealty 1 is still grinding in the background. I left the bot and my pc on all night as and of typing it's been almost a solid 16 hours since I began that quest.
Out of the 20 needed, I woke up with only 10.
Legion Fealty 2 was extremely long and horrendously boring. Again I regretted not doing Ultra Dage for this but as I was botting I figured it was my just desserts.
Finished getting all 6 after a solid 24 hours.
Legion Fealty 3 wasn't as bad as I expected. I already prefarmed max Legion Tokens and have a paragon pet so getting more wasn't an issue.
Still have to get back to it but it took around 30-50 minutes per turn in.
Of all the quests I've ever done in every video game I've ever played, this is by far the most mind numblingly boring and shittiest quest I have ever, and probably will ever, do. People who do this by hand are straight up lying, I refuse to believe anyone is sane enough to do it even with Ultra Dage insignias. With AQ Infinity coming out / already out they better tone right down the grinds in this game otherwise they can't get population boosts from botters and players might think the game is dead and leave. I never want to have to do this quest again. LoO and DoT were fun, this can suck the fattest shit from right out my anus.
Haven't played these games since roughly 2008. Is there a reason to play AQ or AQW over DF? I'll probably play DF, unless someone wants to talk me out of it.
Any tips? Things I should do with a fresh account? I plan to do a chronological story playthrough. I assume there's no way to spoof a dragon amulet or anything like that, right? I paid those b***hes back then with allowance and I hate the idea of giving them more money just because I lost my childhood account.
Either wait until AQ infinity comes out which is a redo of AQW, or stick to DF. If you remember your old email address and username you can probably email the support team and ask to switch emails to whatever you're using. The company doesn't delete characters/profiles if you've spent money on the game so guarantee your dude is still there. Stay away from AQ and AQW, they're shit.
Why do you feel AQ and AQW are shit? I started with AQ, then ended up on DF. Even dabbled in MechQuest or whatever it was. I thought AQW was pretty lame aesthetically, so I didn't frick with that, and stopped playing their games altogether soon after.
AQ is allllll over the place in terms of story and design. Neither of which are really all that interesting.
AQW turned into the company's endless piggybank and a giant inconsequential grindfest among still being a dress up game.

Makes sense, the DroT DPS also looked a bit low and none of the weapon Forge enhancements except Valiance/Concerto are useful for LR.
Valiance shouldn't be too hard since you already got DroT and likely have AP/LoO, but Forge capes are a real b***h though.

Avarice is the worst though if you don't bot and Lament is boring because getting Heart of the Sun is literally just whacking the birds in that map for 1000 times. I really question that questline design

What Forge enhancements do you have? Not worth it if you don't have or plan to get Elysium/Acheron.
Valiance AM is theoretically amazing, but is painful to use. AM without Forge is not worth the effort.
Not to mention at your current level you will have extreme difficulties doing Supernova and Arcane Sigil.
I would recommend getting Valiance first since you already have DroT which is one of the requirements.
Valiance is great on endgame classes like DroT & LR, then decide afterwards what class to farm.

I got Void Essentia, Divine Will, Insatiable Hunger, and Calamitous Ruin ahead of time because I checked pubs frequently. Not sure about the rest but I could just skip them by doing ultras (might need to level up?). Expect for dage.

It's just the case of them using interesting names without actually considering the source material. The only "connection" is that the sea dragon is a mom or something.
Its more weirder because of the darkon storyline, some of the creatures are actually like the Black personmen with a darkon twist and its obvious the writer did research. I wouldn't be surprised if whoever created the pirate armor just looked Shub up thanks to the storyline, and called it a day.

A lot of the top classes are Shadowscythe adjacent, which is the point I was making, but you still have stuff like LoO, EDoT, Archmage, etc which could turn out to be better after testing. Point is that Evil is heavily pandered to, so it is just nice to see them take a loss for once and its always nice when Good items finally get made. The fact that players like the faction the most isn't a problem at all.

It is a nice sign so far, but that could easily change like with the Queen/Malgor saga being a trainwreck that somehow ended well despite having basically no through line at all.
Evil faction is just anyone associated with the Shadowscythe as an ally, you don't get to claim every single bad guy in the game. For example,

>Nulgath was not really Evil faction until he did that truce thing with Legion
>Mirror Twins (Normal Lore) both represent the concept of Evil, but are actually Chaos faction ingame

Also frick Black folk who wear Legion Naval, that shit is ugly as frick.

Anyone else out there grinding NSoD but non-member without DK armor? Only thing left for me to do is to get the hilt one more time for the aura, and the 800 void auras for the sword itself. So far it took about three months.
After that I'll probably get one of the variations so that I'll have three 51% weapons for different forge enhancements. Then it's probably off to get Dauntless and Goddess of war.

Eh, I kinda enjoy it. I can just mindlessly spam skills in one window, and read or watch something in another. Takes me about an hour or two[/spoiler] to do the void aura quest once because I'm soling it, so at least it gives me something to do. I remember grinding good and evil rank10 back when daily quests weren't even a thing and for non-members you only had two quests that gave like 300 rep. It's kinda like that, except less tedious.

8th betrayal blade is legend only. This is the only sword (besides another, now rare, one who's name i've forgotten) that isn't for legends and isn't 'special offer'. So i'm tempted but at the same time it's 5 seconds faster than typing /join Yulgar-9889 so idk.

Nah you're right, this one is B tier at BEST. If you want S tier, look at Doomknight NC, Abyssal Angel NC, Brilliant NC, Cursed NC, Paragon NC or even Chaotic NC. (I didn't count the memey ones like Naval Cow-mander or Frostval Commandeer). Unfortunately these all require IoDA's nowadays which fricking sucks because I'd do damn near anything for a Doomknight NC rerelease (black friday idea? please devs, make it happen). inb4 "idc" I'm a massive autist moron when it comes to Navals, I love em despite only owning 4.

Not everything needs to be gatcha. If anything, I think they could tone down the fancy quirky armor sets. I remember the game starting out as this relatively low fantasy thing, where a paladin and a necromancer were the amongst most outlandish concepts. But member armor sets had to get fancier and fancier. It all went downhill with Dage.
Dage showing the dev team that they can, infact, make classes for 2000ACs and people WILL buy it had unspoken ramifications throughout the entire game still felt 11 years later.
I think Legion Revenant and LightCaster is the only paywall, you'd only need 1.2k ACs. Blood Titan or OmniKnight aren't relevant when you're going lategame.

Just played Eden City and the small storyline leading up to it. Why did they abandon it bros? I didn't think it was 'that' amazing (i'm not a fan of future aesthetics) but I liked the characters and cosmetics were great.
Also had the pleasure of playing through some of the Darkon story as it totally bypassed me somehow. Fricking AWESOME. Probably the best content I've ever played in AQW save for some moments in the Chaos saga.

I was looking up her dialogue to make a pun, but then I noticed something. In almost all of her appearances, Gravelyn is looking straight at the camera. Her alternative designs like when she's a child or when she's pissed looking at something are exceptions, but other than that it's consistent. So I went to investigate this phenomena, and it seems the newer character art for NPCs that push player-oriented concert or cross-promo material all do this, and it makes sense from a marketing standpoint. They want to come off as friendly. But none of the old NPCs really do this, not even Artix. Yet Gravelyn was like that from the very first.

I was for a while too because I misunderstood the mechanic. Pay attention to the yellow text, it gives you clues that are usually pretty simple and kinda fun to figure out. Though I felt like half the rooms were a do-you-have-archmage check.

There's isn't really any classes that can benefit from this. Not even DoT/PCM otherwise your damage or heals will be reduced.

Even though the REP is called "Grimskull Trolling," it would be a waste of time for players to have the prerequisites, go through the dungeon and weekly quests merely to earn a medicore enchantment... it must have some legitimate applications. Like having Hearty LOO (worsen your mana gain) to tank some hits in ultra bosses. Either way, the enchantment isn't worth getting at all. It's just too penalizing.
Just a FYI, if you're doing Ultra Speaker with a group follow this chart. This is after when Malgor got Magia Burn duration got changed. Pubs are still stubborn and are still following the outdated 4 man taunt strat that can lead to LOO suddenly dying from what I can recall.

With the story feeling like it's coming to some kind of a close, achievement trackers coming to an end and Infinity coming out soon™ it's safe to assume AQW will barely last another year.
That being said, it's pathetic how much of a last hurrah these events and items have been. The navals were shit, Penis Doomknight the "ultra boss slayer" was garbage, black friday stuff is the worst it's ever been, virtually nothing to look forward to for Frostval, it's just sad. So my tips for any dev /here/ that wants to make next year the last proper farewell;
1) Every seasonal shop that comes out now has every single item released for that shop hereby destroying the rare gays once and for all and earning the FATTEST paycheck you've ever seen in your miserable lives since Artix's autism halted the production of a Dragonfable animated series.
2) SSS tier giga class. Better than LR and VHL, borderline invincible with the most cum draining nuke we've ever seen next to Timekiller. Make it insanely difficult to get but offer vastly different routes. Maybe players can use AC's to buy merge items like Elemental Warrior or farm dailies or kill ultras or go on a big LoO/DoT tier quest. Idk but you might as well just have a final definitive class that can wreck shit because who cares anymore.
3) Bring the story to a satisfying conclusion. All the big bads are dead, hero and friends live happily ever after in Battleon. No fricking joke shit either, if it turns out the player was dreaming the whole time after falling off the cliff I WILL delete my fricking 15 year old character and denounce AE for eternity.
"But you can import into AQW Infinity!" make it so you can't import classes and just soft reboot the classes in Infinity. This is a great chance to finally bring back begging for help in /battleon and having to organize a party that all went extinct when multitarget self heal classes became too prevalent.
Posting this because AE might be done with AQW, and I most certainly am too.
In the AQ Infinity FAQ they say that both game with run and be developed in parallel. They want AQ Infinity to catch up to AQW, but they won't shut AQW down even then. You will have a different leveling system in Infinity so it's kind of a soft reboot, and they may remove damage boost items too. You can use old stuff to flex and maybe access some exclusive content, but that's it. I guess they want a chance for new players to catch up to the meta, and to give them a reason to want to do that too, without a year of grinding shit.
By the way, early AQ3D had the exact OG MMO feeling you describe, having to organize parties and, you know, interact with other players? I still remember rushing the bridge guardian boss for the quest and for a weapon you couldn't even equip due to the level cap. Since then they removed this in favor of automated instances and you guessed it, zerg grind like in AQW. I have no faith in AE that they will figure out what a good MMO experience should be, not when the other leading studios of the genre don't either. They just follow the example and sprinkle in the usual AQW kill x mobs quests and grind. Though that's not to say your ideas were any better, all working off of the assumption that everyone is done with AQW. We've certainly had worse times of stagnation than what we have now.
Good point. I remember that solid year or two of borderline no AQW content when the AQ3D alpha came out. Which I agree, was kino as frick. I still remember parkouring on the tree beside Yulgar and killing that ogre boss for no reason. But that being said, I just feel like most, if not all, effort is going to be delegated to Infinity. I know Flash and Unity pretty well and can safely say they are two entirely different pieces of software with totally different import procedures. This is AE we're talking about, they are NOT going to double their own workload just to appease an older version of the same game. Hell, I'd put money on them force migrating accounts to Infinity and discontinuing flash AQW by the end of next year. But am I complaining? Frick no. A soft reboot is what AQW has needed for years.
I'd like to think that they learned from their mistake, and that's why they're putting in the effort to at least add mobs and dungeons with actual mechanics.
I don't know if I can truly believe in Artix's ideas ever again, but I will say that the game does seem to be on an upward spiral ever since around the time Beleen came back. Now I'm not saying those two things are necessarily connected, and I'm also not not saying that, but I will say that Beleen is best girl now and forever.

Man I still don't know what to think about this Black Friday release. Right off the bat, they recolored like 3 armors and called it a day so all that "we're listening to what players want" shit was a total lie. The standouts were easily the Hollowborn Paragon set and Legion Wolf set which thankfully can be brought using legion tokens, the rest range from "this is ugly" to "literally who asked for this?". Them not including the Hollowborn chest with the black friday chest was a bit israeli and it's clear that maybe the Paragon set was intended for that Hollowborn chest but AE desperately needed to pad out the Black Friday chest to justify the pricetag. The shadowslayer stuff and /blackfridayway drops were a nice surprise. Good looking sets and decent grinds. Cyber monday stuff is a shit load of frick, again, AE didn't listen and instead of making recolors just shat out some Cyberpunk stuff and called it a night. Really disappointed there's no new recolored classes. Hell, they could've just recolored Verus Doomknight I mean it only really just came out and it isn't an S tier class so no loss if people wanna buy it. Anyway, really really weird, easily the worst Black Friday I've experienced in a good long while, absolutely NOT looking forward to Frostval but I am looking forward to the complimentary IoDA's babey.

The Hollowborn chest was explicitly never getting new items since at least 2 years ago, so Hollowborn anything was never intended for it and they're not "padding" the shop.
I don't know, anon. It just sounds like you don't like AE and don't read design notes, so you are making a lot of assumptions to me. The first part is fair, but the last two is just being silly.
Last year came with Antique Hunter and a shit load of armors, 2021 came with a ton of really cool recolors (sadly no class) and 2020 came with Shadow Dragon Shinobi (not really appetizing since you can farm for it) plus some decent recolors. This year's chest pales in comparison, which feels weird to say because they gave out a shit load of drops and merges that are pretty cool. All this chest seriously needed was a single recolored class, that's it, and it would've been cool.
As for the Hollowborn chest, TLaPD 2021's chest came with the Chaos Pirate chest from the previous year.

I never used bots for a looooong time, as in, over the course of my almost 15 year game time I spent 13 of those unbotted. Only took it up because BLoD and some DoT quests were bullshit, but as we all know most endgame quests are utter bullshit so I use it almost all the time now, especially for boss drops. Never in ultra bosses though, I'm not moronic. As for Legion shit I have Mounted Paragon which is veeeeeery slightly worse, sometimes (apparently) comparable to Bright Paragon so my Tokens are always maxed out. Botted too of course. The fact of the matter is, if you and I were in a room together and another player comes in, that player would have no idea which of us is the botter. This is to say earning achievements the legitimate way is indiscernible to earning it through bots and you'd be silly to pass up free labor because of some self made superficial ideology.

NTA. My reply to your entire point is that it is entirely dependent on the type of work. You're projecting your emotional state when you do the menial bullshit this game asks you to do on other people. When I finished a long grind, I didn't feel satisfaction, I felt like I wasted all of my time because I was accomplishing nothing but spamming the same few buttons over and over and over again. That's not a satisfying effort to work through and it is ENTIRELY AE's fault for relying so heavily on it, hence why they introduced new objectives like ultra bosses to have a method of progression that isn't objectively awful game design.

That's very debatable and heavily dependent on which item you're trying to get. Similarly, someone toiling in the hot sun is still working hard and does still feel satisfaction with the work itself. To use your example game it is similar to the difference between playing Elden Ring blind and reading a guide the entire time, both provide a very different experience. That is to say it's fine if you want to bot, but it isn't stupid to enjoy grinding for things either.

The vast majority of meaningful stuff in the game is not locked behind botting, at best you'd only ever need to bot for the +50% DMG gear, classes and levels to reliably beat Ultra Bosses. You could definitely argue that alone is worth it, but I'd put my money on botters botting everything meaningless like the cosmetic stuff from Nulgath items to just the small weekly merge shops constantly too. There's always going to be a limit to what's "justified" or whatever, but personally I think feeling entitled to bot is just plain silly. I don't understand why people feel the need to justify their actions when they're only committing a morally neutral act anyway.
You know what was menial? Grinding evil rep back in the day, if you were a non-member. You had one decent quest to do so, it gave about 200 rep, and all you had to do was kill a couple of slimes in swordhaven by the pizza place. Just one if you were lucky, it wasn't a fixed droprate. There were no rep boosts back then, no reaccepting the quest automatically. You had to go to shadowfall, take up the quest, go to swordhaven, do it, and then repeat this process many, many times. Mind you, back then the map load times were much slower, and there was a chance of DCing. And if that happened, there was a chance your progress would be lost from that login. Imagine losing 5k rep like that. I did.
When shop and quest loaders became a thing, there was no shame in using them to just stay on the swordhaven map and do the quest without risking losing your hard earned rep. But the difference from botting is that the tedious part wasn't designed to be part of the grind. It was just the server infrastructure at the time. The LR, VHL, DOT, NSOD, whatever else grinds don't suffer from this. Oh, you have to repeat a quest a lot? Well it was designed to be like that. Being able to kill some boss is a soft check, but having the patience and determination to see it all through is the challenge. And again, I ask, to what end do you even do this? It's not like the rest of the game was any less tedious, with all the slay x mobs and fetch quests. And these items aren't even the meta anymore, you don't get no coll points for afking with them in yulgar.
I mean they had daily quests for rep, but still. It all comes down to personal preference and your level of tolerance, for some people even just an hour of grinding one map might be too much and for others they'd be fine with much longer. Same for quests, some quests are garbage long grinds (pretty much everything like Nulgath gear or NSoD type stuff) and some are good long grinds (EDoT, Archmage minus the gold costs, some reps, etc). For me I just work towards items I think are cool and play dress up, unironically. I like being a nerd and coordinating outfits that match the events unfolding in the story or what I think the Hero might wear. Chaos set for the Chaos finale, Christmas gear for Christmas, EDoT themed outfit when I'm doing the latest main storylines, etc. There honestly isn't much else to do in the game besides grind and play dress up, maybe decorating your house (if you're a whale) or doing ERP with the one random horny guy who always shows up.
Yes, a daily quest for about 1k rep a day. It was a nice addition, but it didn't make a dent in the larger scale of things.

It looks like the way they're limiting it to 6 shots is that 6 shots costs 90 mana not that there are 6 stacks that it consumes.
Vim will make the auto attack cost 10 and Mana Vamp has a 80% chance to give 10 mana each shot with 0 second cooldown.
That's a lot of extra shots without needing to reload.
Plus Elysium only gives its mana as 4 mana a second.
But the auto attack is so fast that you want it faster than in a second and you would want more than 4 if you have to wait a whole second.
The 10% extra damage and big damage when low on mana is a consideration though and could change the math.
Would require testing if its ultimately better than the extra shots from mana vamp.
This all assuming you are absolutely raping the shit out of your 1 key, otherwise yeah Elysium probably better without thinking.

It's way better than DoT and you can use it to mindlessly spam while farming stuff. Idk about CaV, but I'm willing to bet it's easier to use. Plus you can stack 2x50% dmg reduction, so it's pretty versatile.
Not worth farming unless you plan on getting Dauntless eventually.
There's only a few percent DPS difference between VHL and CAv with Valiance.
If you only spam skills they tie, while CAv is also tankier and more versatile.
With Dauntless VHL hits harder, but other, easier classes also reach that DPS.
Though realistically, if you can get Dauntless both VHL and CAv will be trivially.
Also, you should keep DroT around, it's better than VHL and CAv for party DPS.
In particular, on Untagged/Ultra/Challenge mobs and in 4+ player rooms.

What makes NSoD more appetizing than a 30-40% weapon that is MARGINALLY easier to get? 11% can't possibly make all the difference in world, but let's say it does, again, for what? To kill Ultras? Why do you want to kill Ultras, for S tier classes? These classes that'll kill bosses faster, again, for. what. If you're already tackling an Ultra you most likely already have a class that can solo 99.99% of enemies in the game. Oh but what about LR, yes the farming class that requires you to kill tens of thousands of enemies so that... you can farm faster... And why would you need to, assuming you already have a good farming class, actually it's a guarantee you already have a good farming class since who tf would do LR as a Mage or Warrior?
The point is, AQW has alternatives to everything and those alternatives are significantly easier/faster to obtain with only very very very minor drawbacks. You can sit here and tell me exactly why you so desperately needed VHL and NSoD, but I know for a fact you don't need either to play through the Chaos saga or Darkon's Elergy of Madness or the Dragon Egg saga or Frostval events, Mogloween events, birthday events, etc. AQW is infinitely more fun as a dress up game like that other anon put it, and absolutely mind numbing as a minmax game, so however players want to cut down on time and maximize their enjoyment through actually playing the game is not for me nor anyone else to decide.
Personally, I play solo whenever possible, so all the little upgrades culminate to "unlocking" new stuff I can then do. The different classes can be used for different challenges, like in the infernal arena or the latest grimskull dungeon. If I can get that +11% damage I'll be able to reliably solo the prismatas so I'll be able to do do the archmage bonus quest alone (for the most part). I don't usually afk or erp or whatever, and I wear the same set for years on end. But this type of gamestyle keeps me goal-oriented and busy.

You're working to get better equipment so that you can work slightly easier to get even better equipment. As I said in my post, you don't need half the shit this game throws at you, it's all fluff designed to waste your time so that you can more efficiently waste your time. You don't need to beat Infernal Arena. You don't need a 51% weapon. You don't need Archmage. You need to find a better hobby that'll reward you for spending time or, at the very least, find a better game that doesn't blatantly disrespect its players by wasting their time. I write this with concern, not hate.
The same is true for playing dress-up. You're still just trying to justify your actions for botting and totally not samegayging. There's a way to cut down on the grind if you feel like it's too much, it's called pay to win. You can just get a calendar class or membership to make grinds much easier, or even IODA these items, or buy some middle-the-road classes straight from the AC shop. And hey, paying is the only way to adequately play dollhouse anyway, otherwise your options are hilariously limited. What you're justifying is your refusal to paypig, and nothing else. Telling people not to find joy in the way THEY want to play is asinine.

Don't get Alpha Pirate, Rogue/Pirate will always be mid and it's not rare at all with IoDA.
There's at least the slight chance Berserker gets buffed or is a requirement for something.
I would IoDA over several dozen items if it was free, but most of them would be cosmetic.

The pet is extremely useful, not only does it look cool but it has quests that offer unique items as well. As for membership, that's not a big deal there's always AC boosts to come with memberships so its all good for people like me that devote way too much time to the game.
It is also a must have if you have Card Clasher.
The champion blades go so well with the card clasher armor, much better than the dumb looking daggers that come with the armor.

I gave up on Ultra bosses after Malgor was released, whats the point when the boss is just way too unfun to play with, RGoW looks ugly as sin and Dauntless is not that useful compared to Valiance or Elysium.
I don't get the 15 years ioda until June next year but thinking about it makes me feel sorta funny. Without a doubt I'll spend it on Beta Berzerker and a toss up between Alpha Pirate (though I'm not too enthusiastic about it since it's just fricking Rogue), Love Caster (Again not too enthusiatic since it's just Dracomancer) or an armor I've been wanting for almost 10 years, but after that... I dunno, I'd feel like after that I pretty much have every single item I've ever wanted. I'd finally feel like I finished the game and can move on. No idea what to. The thought of all this is a little sad but I look forward to the future, even if AQW isn't in that future.

I know. I'm playing it. I'm extremely skeptical of their claim that they're going to convert everything considering they more action oriented twist they seemingly want to do for Infinity.
Seeing as AQInfinity uses your character, what happens if you try to go back to AQW? Is your level and items reset? What about Umbra, can you use it in Flash AQW?

How do you guys feel about the Infinity test? The framerate is nice but visually it doesn't look too good and the converted, thinner outline on items looks particularly bad. I also don't like the new animations for the characters and some of the monsters. Milton carried AQW on his back alone and it shows.

Wasn't going to write this because I thought it was as against the rules but apparently not so forgive me jannies if it is (yes I read the rule page).
First google search for Grimlite It should be the auqw page.
Click the fat download client button and follow the instructions to install Flash Skua. This just reactivates Flash on your computer specifically for Grimlite.
Once it (Grimlite) is downloaded and extracted, open it up. You should get the AQW login screen but with Skyguard characters and it should say Latest Release: Grimlite on it.
Login, find a server (literally any, I've never had an issue with Artix or Yorumi so don't be scared to pick high pop counts).
We're going to make the dumbest fricking bot possible just to get the idea of what to do.
Click Bot on the very top of the client and in the drop down hit Manager.
A new scary window should pop up with loads of options.
Click Combat and in the "Kill / Attack" sort of box, click Kill.
If you click Start at the bottom left under the big aisle box (this is where your instructions go), your character will begin auto attacking any random enemy in the room. Obviously we want some skills too right?
Underneath the Start button it should say Commands. Click it and swap it to Skills. This is just another tab within the aisle that pertains to skills.
Back on the right side, assuming you're still on the Combat tab, look under the "Skill Set" box. There should be an editable box that says "Skill Set Name".
Click it and change the name to "Piss" or "Fart" or whatever you want. Then hit "Add Skill Set" and "Use Skill Set".
On the left aisle, only the name you gave will show up. Don't worry, the "Use Skill Set" button is a command we just added to the Command aisle. So don't worry about it for now.
Back on the right side under "Skill Set" box again, you have a number (1) and Add Skill and also a Safe Skill.
The number means which skill you're selecting and Add Skill obviously adds it to the Set.

Thanks a ton anon, I'll give it a shot.
Remember to keep in mind the aisle works top to bottom, meaning there's an order to things. Grimlite is sort of dumb and seems to just do whatever so keep it in mind before you try botting using Yami or a support class in an Ultra (you shouldn't be botting in Ultras anyway).
By now you should have a good chunk of skills you'll be using on the left side. Go back to the Commands tab nestled below the Start button, right now it should be called Skills remember.
As I said before, Grimlite works top to bottom and our Kill command is above our Use Skill Set command, meaning it'll just autoattack. Not good.
Click the Kill command and in the bottom left you got 2 arrows pointing up and down. Click the down arrow with Kill selected.
Right now the aisle should look like:

>[1] Kill *
Now if you try starting the bot your character will use their abilities in combat.
I like using this bot as a base for other bots and you will too so in the tabs on the right, where it says Info Combat Item Map etc etc, click Misc 2.
Under Misc 2 is a Save bot button. Should be pretty simple to follow along from there.
When you want to load that bot again for later, click into the Bots tab, again located in the top most tabs. It should be there.

And that's pretty much it. To make it auto complete quests you need to find the quest first, remember the name of it and, back in the game itself where you first clicked Bot, instead click Plugins then Quest Grabber. A window should come up, just click Grab ID Only at the bottom and some quests should pop up. Remember the name you needed? Look at it here and remember the number associated with it. Could be damn near anything but for this example let's say it's 1234. Back in your Bots manager, click the Quest tab at the top and in Quest (not Quest List) enter that ID number you saw, 1234. Hit Accept and Complete. Your Commands aisle on the left should have both. Click Accept in the aisle and using the arrows and move it to the very top. Complete should already be at the bottom. That's all there is to it.
Play around with Grimlite it's got great features AQW doesn't have like in-room spawning, room teleporting, infinite range etc etc. Stay WELL the frick AWAY from packet spamming. You WILL get insta banned because it fricks with the servers. Botgays love throwing them into community made bots to catch out newbies so watch out for them.
Also AE can go frick themselves.

all you have to do is tell them your previous email, that's what I did.
I'm surprised how little AE leans into making houses. Sure, there's already quite a handful but once you get the Shadowfall Fortress you really don't need anything else. Why don't they make a house with a front door that can be unlocked by the owner? (this wouldn't be hard since Astavia in Flux and Hidden Subway already exist to build off of). Why isn't there a house with enemies in it? Or a house with an exclusive in-house questline? Or a house that can bring you to an exclusive map? There's SO much they can do with housing and it's annoying they do frickall with it.
Only bringing this up because I was comparing last years Frostval tiers to this years and last years was 200% better, largely because of 1k Gravelyn but also because the houses were really neat. Fat shame we're only getting one house this year for 10k and the yet-to-be-seen Chaos twin pet for a disgusting 5k.
I've always wanted the House Guards/Guests to do random animations befitting the creature or stuff like bowing down when you pass by, also I did suggest before that every house could get extra rooms or the armor/bank via gold/ac so that nobody is stuck with same house due to room count and other mechanics.
Would be cool too if your pets can be stationed there.
House guards would be the PERFECT opportunity to have player-controlled mobs. Dump a couple legion skeleton guards in your second room and it forces players to battle them, as though you're breaking into their home and they're just doing their job. And yeah, some literal room customization would be really cool. My Bright Fortress has been sitting in my bank for a few years because there's nothing worth using it for.
Also travelling merchants would be pretty cool. You arrive back at your home to find an NPC standing there who offers to sell you stuff.
Christ we can come up with awesome ideas all day, it's just a shame ya boy Artix doesn't do jack shit about it.

I finally decided to do it bros. I decided to take the Legion Revenant plunge.
Did each quest once by hand then the rest using a bot, never used Ultra Dage not even for the conquest wreaths (which was stupid looking back).
Legion Fealty 1 is still grinding in the background. I left the bot and my pc on all night as and of typing it's been almost a solid 16 hours since I began that quest.
Out of the 20 needed, I woke up with only 10.
Legion Fealty 2 was extremely long and horrendously boring. Again I regretted not doing Ultra Dage for this but as I was botting I figured it was my just desserts.
Finished getting all 6 after a solid 24 hours.
Legion Fealty 3 wasn't as bad as I expected. I already prefarmed max Legion Tokens and have a paragon pet so getting more wasn't an issue.
Still have to get back to it but it took around 30-50 minutes per turn in.
Of all the quests I've ever done in every video game I've ever played, this is by far the most mind numblingly boring and shittiest quest I have ever, and probably will ever, do. People who do this by hand are straight up lying, I refuse to believe anyone is sane enough to do it even with Ultra Dage insignias. With AQ Infinity coming out / already out they better tone right down the grinds in this game otherwise they can't get population boosts from botters and players might think the game is dead and leave. I never want to have to do this quest again. LoO and DoT were fun, this can suck the fattest shit from right out my anus.

Haven't played these games since roughly 2008. Is there a reason to play AQ or AQW over DF? I'll probably play DF, unless someone wants to talk me out of it.
Any tips? Things I should do with a fresh account? I plan to do a chronological story playthrough. I assume there's no way to spoof a dragon amulet or anything like that, right? I paid those b***hes back then with allowance and I hate the idea of giving them more money just because I lost my childhood account.
Either wait until AQ infinity comes out which is a redo of AQW, or stick to DF. If you remember your old email address and username you can probably email the support team and ask to switch emails to whatever you're using. The company doesn't delete characters/profiles if you've spent money on the game so guarantee your dude is still there. Stay away from AQ and AQW, they're shit.
Why do you feel AQ and AQW are shit? I started with AQ, then ended up on DF. Even dabbled in MechQuest or whatever it was. I thought AQW was pretty lame aesthetically, so I didn't frick with that, and stopped playing their games altogether soon after.
AQ is allllll over the place in terms of story and design. Neither of which are really all that interesting.
AQW turned into the company's endless piggybank and a giant inconsequential grindfest among still being a dress up game.
Those seem like good damn reasons, alright. AQ is as much part of my childhood as DF, but DF always did seem like the more proper game-game of the two. DF it is. Honestly quite excited.

Only forge enhancement I was using was Pneuma. Working on getting Valiance now.
Makes sense, the DroT DPS also looked a bit low and none of the weapon Forge enhancements except Valiance/Concerto are useful for LR.
Valiance shouldn't be too hard since you already got DroT and likely have AP/LoO, but Forge capes are a real b***h though.
I'm straight up not even gonna bother with forge capes. Ain't no way in hell am I farming for the Awe equipment a second time.

Avarice is the worst though if you don't bot and Lament is boring because getting Heart of the Sun is literally just whacking the birds in that map for 1000 times. I really question that questline design
