not a single one of those is remotely similar to factorio at all, minus some massive minecraft modpacks
that's the point
those games actually engage your brain instead of just mindlessly plopping down more belts
Opus magnum sure, that's kind of the point of all zachtronics games. They literally sell education copies to schools.
they are very similar as they're all logistical simulators.
not like you're calculating your dV for your return trip from mars in any of these.
>minecraft
Wasnt factorio literally inspired by a mod from minecraft ic2 i think?
Yes.
I like shapez.io because it's got the resource gathering elemant like factorio, but also the gluing-shit-together aspect that zachtronics games have
shapez 2 is coming out later this year and I'm really looking forward to it
I got shapez from GOG and it's the only other factory game I've played after Factorio. I thought it was pretty cool, but I lost interest once I realized the game basically boils down to "Build a MAM and watch the game play itself".
>shapez 2
it's 3d, I don't believe it's going to be good
it's still using a top down perspective like the original though
free camera 3d is fine in a factory game; first person like satisfactory is what's cancer.
As a practical thing for Ganker generals I understand mixing automation games and engineering games
you doing it in this thread on Ganker on the other hand is utterly moronic
>minecraft
You mean GregTech: New Horizons. Minecraft has no engineering by itself
>Minecraft has no engineering by itself
>BUT MUH REDSTONE REEEEEEEEEEEEE

t. filtered by green science
Probably filtered by the aliens.
You can literally turn them off
Personally I let them on default but I turn the new base spread off, so once I clear an area I don't have to wall it off and it stays clear
I just wish launching the rocket would kill them off so you could have a biterless post-game.
I just wish there was some actual game there. I think it's fun to build a factory too, but I feel a game needs some sort of stakes or suspense or something. That's just my personal opinion, I get that other people thinks building legos is a "game", it just doesn't work for me in the long run. The aliens are a big part of what makes factorio interesting to me, I just wish they were more interesting.
There's a mod for that, or five.
I'd be very interested in that. I need one that makes them actually more interesting though, not just more life and bullshit like that.
you mean something like rampant?
one where bugs attacks are more directed not only to attack your factory, but to also attack critical infrastructure,
more bug types
and they are far more aggresive and expansionit, so launching a rocket is not just something you do, its something you have to do or you will get overwhelmed, and your production wont keep up with munitions required to kill them?
This post is dumb because you can say the same thing for any game.
Yeah, I know many disagree with me. To me, factorio without any enemies is more like playing with a toy than playing a game.
Yeah, maybe. I'll check it out, thanks for the tip.
What's the consensus on Space Engineers? No endgame or npcs but I still bought all the DLC to sate my 'tism
I love it, I just wish consistent servers actually existed for it.
DLC WHEN!?
Besiege is alright, but it is a fundamentally different game. Opus Magnum is a zachtronics game. Those are on a whole different level, and hardcore factorio fans have nothing but the utmost respect for them. Similar with infinifactory, you are describing games that aren't really like factorio. Minecraft is only an engineering game with a billion mods.
Factorio is about maximizing throughput with infinite resources. It's not meant to rake your brain to enforce efficiency, the core of it is more handling large scale logistics instead of production itself. Establishing "one more belt" and incorporating it into your pre-existing production is the challenge. Personally I would add Oxygen Not Included if you are looking for the "squeeze as much as you can out of every resource" challenge, as you can literally build airlocks out of piss lakes and dumb shit like that in order to extract as much value as possible from highly limited resources.
>opus magnum of all things
Bait harder homosexual
opus magnum is good though
it's easier than the other zachtronics games if you don't care about optimization though
but I had more fun optimizing my solutions in opus magnum than I did in any of the other zachtronics games
Besiege was fricking amazing. I miss the daily Ganker thread about it.
