I'm with you, also there are so few interesting games on the horizon that it makes even a mediocre WoW expansion release sound like a fun time.
Even the worst WoW expansion is fun for the better part of a month, then you drop it and go do something else. On a playtime-per-dollar basis it's probably a better bargain than many AAA games these days.
Yeah I have a group of 6+ friends who are all gonna play. I also have decent mythic logs from previous Nathria and BFA so getting a good guild won't be a problem.

Yeah that's what I thought as well. After getting CE Nathria I killed Sylvanas on heroic, decided she's shit encounter/lore-wise, had 3 mythic guilds fall apart on me and quit. Haven't come back since. The expansion ended on Denathrius for me. From what I saw the Jailer was a complete failure in comparison.
I'm glad Dena is still out there somewhere and not completely dead, I'd like to see him come back.

I don't get the setting. The aspects lost a huge amount of their power when they energized the dragon soul so they've basically become irrelevant. What even happened to that version of the dragon soul? Did they put it back near the well of eternity in the past? Would it still have the same level of power?

I saw they released the class changes (which are bugged) and broke the 3k number. I quit when my guild was about to start BWL and haven't felt like coming back since. I'd play a running slam warrior build but do I really want to? Frick.

It's been the case so many times that no matter what they say it's probably them cutting corners. We'll probably find out they were supposed to be tanks in a few years when cut content is revealed, like with WoD.
They also look like utter twinks even with their twink slider zeroed out. The transmog thing where they only show the shoulders and belt in your dragon form is lazy as well.
Honestly they're not fricking trying. People asked for less systems, they delivered less systems and didn't deliver anything new in exchange besides dragonriding and moronic professions.

The only reason to play retail WoW is for end game raiding or PvP. If you aren't that hardcore, go play something else like FF14 which does every aspect better except for those two.

What's the point of ranked PvP if someone with better gear has an innate advantage? That's the reason arenas are a joke, because PvE players come in and can sweep house with their PvE gear.
The only thing this expansion has going for it is that it finally got through their thick skulls that people hated all those shit systems.
But taking 4 steps back and 1 forward isn't worth any praise. Took them too long to figure it out and just because it isn't there doesn't guarantee that it'll be good.
The new race is still terrible, new class can't be bothered to have three specs again, both new class/race are forced together, and I highly doubtful they've managed to salvage classes after so many years of fricking them up. Plus these motherfrickers think a feature all the way back from Burning Crusade deserves fanfare after all the stupid shit they pulled from WoD and onward?

As far as I know no form of AP has been mentioned. Not sure about mission tables, they reworked them for Shadowlands so they might wanna keep them around for longer.
I think they did mention something along the lines, but it won't tie into our own character directly, more so for a dragon companion in the overworld only.

Anything that lets you play out an escapist fantasy is going to attract the type with a lot of spare time and a strong desire to distract from that fact.
