Multi billion dollar industry and endless billions being pushed out by multi national corporations is hardly "free". You are the most expensive group to ever exist.
I still enjoy TF2 and just finished a playthrough of Skyrim again. It still holds up tbh. The best part about getting older is knowing what games are good but you've forgotten the story and can experience it again.
I haven't enjoyed video games since I was a teengaer, I pick up a controler (or keyboard) and just can't have fun. every other video game seems like the same game I played before, they feel extremely repetitive and give me little mental stimulation.
Stopped enjoying them earlier this year so at 23. Only like MP games with friends at this point and maybe some flight sim if I'm in the mood which hasn't been for a month or 2.
I quit playing them over the summer.
Not age, but I stopped enjoying them in my late twenties/early thirties because there are too many forgettable games and this makes it impossible to create/fit into a community for certain smaller games and anyone who likes bigger games are prone to group thinking so you'll never fit in anyway if you're critical over their religion (re: corporation/IP).
It's like the creativity of video games sucked me in more than anything else about them, vidya is dead for the same reason everything else is dying, there's no SOVL. I can still find games enjoyable, but when I play them for too long it reminds me of how lonely i am.
Well what do you do after a long day of work? The best part for me is getting home from work, putting on a podcast, and playing wow/diablo 2. Its literally too much fun. Or even better, calling out of work because of a blizzard and playing videogames early in the morning in your warm house. Ugh I have a comfy boner now. The only time videogames are not fun is when you have nothing else in your life and just mindlessly play 24/7.
im 32 and i played likje 7 hours of world of warcraft today, and i love playing it. i play a lot of m+ in retail. its basically dungeons with endlessly scaling difficulty. really fun
frick your anhedonia. im vegan and love videogames. oyu homosexuals deserve to not be happy
It could be this year, at 41. I've been away from home since late April and I don't miss my console at all. This lonely and unfulfilling summer created a void in my soul that games wouldn't fill. When I return home in November I'll turn on the Xbox and see how it goes. Maybe the comfort of winter will pull me back in but I'm not expecting much.
Maybe that was true a decade ago but I'd say 20-30 year olds are the majority around here. You're an oldBlack person yourself for supposedly knowing the demographics and behaviours of this board. Or you're just a moronic armchair historian. I'll go with the latter, you homosexual.

after about 19 i could only stay engaged by competitive MP games that make me really mad when losing, anything casual or singleplayer i get bored of in 20 minutes

late 20s?
I built a gaming pc in 2012. Gamed hard as frick for many years. PC broke. Didn't bother rebuilding because priorities changed. Bought a mac. Played some mac-compatible games. Realized I don't give a shit about games anymore. Bittersweet.

frick your anhedonia. im vegan and love videogames. oyu homosexuals deserve to not be happy
I'm 30, and still enjoy them. They are, and always have been my main hobby. I was extremely depressed from 27-29, and stopped enjoying anything though.
I play pretty much anything that isn't a puzzle, or sports game. I'm almost studying them as well as playing them. I enjoy seeing how different games use different game mechanics, and their spins on them. I've been playing a lot of indies recently. Sea of Thieves is kind of fun for PvP if you have other people to play with. If you tell me what genres you like, I could probably make some recommendations.
I still enjoy video games at 31. But generally speaking, with a few exceptions, I can't really do story driven games anymore. It's just so tedious, a movie conveys a story faster and is usually better written. I need something with a learning curve, technical skill, pressing a lot of buttons quickly in order to play optimally. Multiplayer games just never get old. You have drama, rivalries and your skill is basically your social status.
The ~~*SJWs*~~ in control of gaming these days are the problem with vidya, not senescence. Things have been bad for a while now with microtroonysactions, early access and kickstarter bullshit, smartphones, etc and vidya having gone mainstream in general. But now that the meta has evolved to classic games getting deleted and replaced with ~~*remastered redefinitions*~~, Marxist and LGBT propaganda always getting shoved down your throat, censorship out the ass, etc I can't blame anyone who drops vidya and gets a new hobby like stamp collecting or touching females
All those things are problems, and so are SJWs, but everything you listed is a direct consequence of video games becoming so profitable that a bunch of soulless suits that don't give a frick about making good games came in with the goal to make money at all costs.
I play a shit ton of jrps/rpgs and rarely get bored. I was bored of video games until I started working and hitting the gym so I'm usually exhausted, currently playing Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and having a blast. Also, I started playing games at a higher difficulty because that forces me to actually learn the mechanics rather than just brute forcing my way through it.
hmmm, i think i stopped enjoying them for a while when i was 18-20
since then i've come to enjoy them after playing them with my gf and friends. but also getting my dick sucked while playing vidya is an unforgettable experience, lol shits great.
It depends on the game. I haven't enjoyed anything that came out after 2012. I don't know if vidya is getting worse or if I only like the old stuff because of nostalgia. I played the most from 2005-2010 when I was in high school. I still enjoy the Fallout, Halo, and Dark Souls games from that period. Fallout 4 was okay, but Halo Infinite was bad. Is Elden Ring worth it? I feel like I'll get bored of the open world pretty quick.
All videogames just get too repetitive after a while, I think its just the way life is in general seeing how my life has become so routine its unbelievable how repetive life is when youre working, and even doing hobbies, that too gets repetitive. I am genuinely looking forward to the next GTA and being 28, a few years of waiting only helps to build that excitement and I dont mind the wait at all, more time to build a next gen PC.
I really would like a videogame that was comprehensive and never-ending. Like WOW but in a more realistic setting, a life simulator, and not too heavy on pay to win, but grinding/being innovative and solving actual complex problems but still having that freedom that life doesnt.
I'm 31 and I still love video games. I did stop enjoying them in my mid 20s when I was depressed and unhappy but when I got my shit sorted out I began to enjoy them again.
After college when I realized that real life is the best game and I should pursue real life goals, now vidya just feel empty and the illusion of the dopamine reward loop is exposed. I cant help but the aware that I'm wasting time if a fake world. I still love games but now more like viewing art than burying myself in them. I've spent a lot of time finding old and retro games to enjoy now.
I still like them, but I don't have the time to play them without consequence anymore. Also, other things took priority. When I was younger, my priority was to get online, grind in whatever mmo I was playing, and ignore life as it passed me by. Now, I have other things that take priority in my life, but I still enjoy the free time I grant myself every once in a while to play a game.
Uni for me is when I went in the deep end of gaming addiction because I realized quickly I wouldn't be getting a girlfriend and needed life satisfaction from something else.
It was a mistake and I should've worked harder on the girlfriend.
After years of meditation I just spend every moment in sheer bliss. Like, everything kinda seems the same and I can't do shit about anything happening in the world so figure I might aswell be happy and squeeze happy hormones in my brain on purpose through meditation and focus and memory. I am in bliss and really, really don't give a frick about anything, and if there is a greater feeling than this, I can't wait to hear about it
probs like 25ish,
though I realize, I think its a lot to do with all the other things you have to do as you mature. When I was younger it always took a while to get into a game but Id always push thru cus id have, what, homework to do otherwise. I just need to stick it out again i think
Probably around the PS3/X360 generation. PS2 was the last generation that had a certain dreamlike charm that I miss in games. I did just hook up my Dreamcast again recently and am really enjoying it. I think it's just modern games that don't really feel like a lot of fun.
> multiplayer > streamers > muh graphics = remake the same game over and over > "pro gamers"
Just doesn't feel the same anymore. Everything is too serious and nobody outside of indie devs wants to experiment.
24-25. I'm completely fricking over them at 27 and just play a few hours of the day to pass the time, rarely ever really enjoying myself. I used to just playing MMOs constantly for 16 hours a day, but that genre is probably the stalest in existence these days, mid-2010s were a golden age comparatively. The last singleplayer game I truly loved was probably Xenoblade 2. 3 didn't feel anywhere near as special and now I have literally nothing I'm looking forward to other than Dragon's Dogma 2 and that's probably half a decade out.
I dunno maybe 20 or 21
I was never a gamer or anything just played lots of a few games like Minecraft osrs csgo now I cant stand them for more than 5 minutes i just scroll Ganker or
anime/manga or weightlifting videos on YouTube in silence
On the weekends I just daydream in bed or real dream I cant tell
I must have been 22. I still play games but it's not for the fun of the games. It's because I have friends who like to play games. They recommend me games to play with them and I invite them out shooting or fishing or whatever.
Frick off normiegay nobody gives a frick , Ill ruin your thread just as you ruin mines.
You havent ruined it
True true whatever

At around 20 they became a fricking chore. I don't play anything nowadays.
Welcome to the void.

Black person retail is so bad, why aren't you playing WOTLK prepatch? Its so fun I cant even put it into words.
>why aren't you playing WOTLK prepatch?
They turned off the zombies so I can't explode in the AH any more.

Engineering homework. I really fricking hate it
You'll never be a real engineer.
I know, but Im going to try

How did you end up here you fricking boomer? You could be the father of most of the people browsing this board.
I've been here since like 32.
You really are an oldgay, body and soul.
Most people come here when they are 14 and leave way before 30.

Ok, Adam Lanza.
Never happened to me and I am probably twice your age
I'm 30, and still enjoy them. They are, and always have been my main hobby. I was extremely depressed from 27-29, and stopped enjoying anything though.
What games do you play? I find it impossible to enjoy vidya now at 30
I play pretty much anything that isn't a puzzle, or sports game. I'm almost studying them as well as playing them. I still like video games actually

Getting bored of video games is for casuals.
A long time ago but ive been liking genshin. Easy to play and only takes 20 minutes a day.
Plus itll be popular for awhile and has crazy funding

25, now I'll only play casually for maybe 20 mins in online games
I have more fun reading these days
About ahe 35 they got kind of boring. I played all them basically.
None because I play good games
I play a shit ton of jrps/rpgs and rarely get bored. Why are you bragging about your imaginary gf in every thread, Jap food loving anon? It's like you're 15 or smt
hmm bragging, why do you see it that way. is it because the concept of having a gf is alien to you?
You're trying hard to make people seethe when everyone knows you're larping. We're just cringing for you, homie.
teehee you wish i was larping loser
