Having people explode into gibs, die in comedic and amusing ways all whilst characters show no regard for killing each other removes any impact a dead body in a scene might have just because it's set dressed as being "slightly spooky".

Aside from the fact you're too autistic to separate a light hearted or comical element of a piece of media from a serious or dark moment and feel the appropriate thing at the appropriate time? There's plenty of lighthearted media that has dark moments or the reverse and it works just fine. Also it's possible to have adult themes in a goofy and colourful package.

WoW was ugly even when it came out what, almost 20 years ago? Today it's just beyond dated. I seriously have no idea how people could've stayed around looking at all that ugly for all this time, doing the same thing every day of every week of every year just grinding away at M+ and stupid raids in different skins.

It's just everything about it. WoW fans are always droning on about the lore when 99% of the playerbase doesn't even read or care about it. Every expansion is just a new level of god, then beyond god, then beyond whatever was beyond god level new threats that you - a little cog in the machine supposedly dime in a dozen hero - are asked to deal with. All the visuals are exaggerated as you said, all abilities and gear and builds are mathematically calculated to such a precision there is zero room for personal touches or new discoveries. The gameplay itself is literally just like following one big excel sheet. Unimaginative beyond belief, boring, and nauseatingly repetitive.

Cataclysm. To that point the game still had a longer grind and lots of challenging stuff. Even with all the QoL changes in the content before. Cata and Panda totally changed that fundamentally.

Anon there are like 50 different farms in Vanilla alone I have no idea what you're on about. If I had to guess any of them you were probably referring to the one in WPL with the ghost woman, or maybe the one in EPL with the little ghost girl, neither of which bring it out of little baby game status when the other hundreds of quests in the game are "Oh no I need the special juice" and the quest is titled some pun from something that was sort of relevant 20 years ago.
You probably think the wrathgate was a massive not little gay baby story moment too because some people died 🙁

Arthas story is some of the best in any computer game ever created. A stuck up paladin and inexperienced naive girl abandoning a an exhausted man desperately trying to save his kingdom for a brief moral high ground dopamine rush, thus nearly condemning their entire planet to destruction. Only averted by a race of immortal demigods effectively committing slow-suicide by blowing up their Yggdrasill. It's fricking kino.
