I must hate myself because I’m almost willing to spend the $130 to get one.
What do you think, Ganker? I have some Atari games but no way to play them otherwise.

Do you know what a computer is, anon?
Depends on what all it can do, 130 bucks for a small system isn't bad on its own. If it JUST played atari games, sorry, no, but if it had some new games, or maybe let you play 2600, 5200, 7800, lynx, and jaguar games (even if only digital and emulated, and through a storefront) with a new controller (that worked for all of the above games obviously, could probably get away with just a remake of the jag 6 button controller) then yeah that would be based. Throw in some of the more recent games made for those systems and it would be quite nice (if only for the lynx and jag. Chip's challenge is based.)
It lets you play both 2600 and 7800 games but no 5200 or Jaguar games.
Yeah, not enough for the price tag imo. Anyone can just emulate them if they want, and the boomers that don't know how aren't going to pay 130 bucks for them.
That sounds fun. I wish the microconsole trend never died...
Don't you have a fricking pc or even a fricking phone?
Atari games aren’t fun without the controller.

You’re paying for the presentation, basically; it’s a thing to own in itself, like the other mini consoles that came before it.
gimme an email and i can sell you mine for 90
The 7800 can play 2600 and 5200 games, why not just get that
On the one hand it's a cool idea and part of me hopes it does well enough for what it is, on the other hand my 7800 is still in working order and I own every game for it that I like.
Only $130? Did they remake the system or is it an original? I figured morons would be seeing these for like $400 like they do with all old stuff.
you must hate yourself because you want to play atari, get a goddamn grip you Black person YOU Black person YOU
Have you played Atari today?
this
The only Atari console with ANY fun games is the Atari Jaguar, and the library of the Jaguar is somewhat small.
Hey don't hate on the Lynx, it's got great games too.

I get the novelty of the looks, but why not just get a small SBC like a Pi or even just steamlink a PC to your TV and then you can emulate whatever. You can even find some or use devices to scale down to composite or component connections if you have the options. Mini consoles I've tried have been lackluster in accuracy by comparison even if I liked the novelty.
Best thing I've found is dedicated singleboard computer, load up exactly the roms I want so its not too distracting with too much choice, and leave it connected at all times so its as easy as an old console.
would be great for $13
I'm looking forward to the novelty of going to the mom and pop vintage video game/comic book store and buying their old Atari cartridges, knowing I can actually PLAY them on this thing. (reportedly)

Every single one of these cartridge based emulation systems are dog shit, with emulation worse than you could have gotten twenty years ago. Just get a MiSTer or emulate on your PC.
It's literally just emulation.
So just download the like 3 MB atari romset and emulate it.
If you have doubts just buy a clone like the coleco gemini
>Comes with the paddle
>Way cheaper and sturdier
>More compact
I'm slightly interested myself because I have a few 2600 games myself, it'd be nice for convenience so I don't have to hook up the coaxial cable. I wonder if it would be able to handle an Everdrive?
