Atlus is technically incompetent and the newer the engine, the harder it is for them to make it run on Switch's crappy, outdated hardware. Their games look so oudated that they should run at 240 FPS on 10 year old hardware, yet they couldn't even manage to get 60 FPS in P5 on Switch.
It's still a Nintendo issue more than anything. Their dev kits are so outdated that developers either don't know how to use them anymore or it's a massive pain in the ass to work around, which makes the costs and effort not worth it. Less and less devs are supporting the Switch because the technology is leaving it behind. This is not strictly an Atlus related problem.

Nocturne became iconic and likely the reason why they decided to re-release it, thinking it didn't sell because of lack of proper marketing back in the day, not to mention that smt5 took heavy inspiration from it. If we see raidou inspired game announcement maybe they'll re-release both games too, but even then, there would be a problem with chinks and asiatics that find imperial Japanese references way too offensive. There are more chances for other mainline games re-release, including release of 2 with official English translation, if only these homosexuals released ps1 version in English, fan translation can't come soon enough.

The brief discord era when it first showed up wasn't the worst, but one server quickly became fricking gay and most of the people in it jumped ship and made their own. Thats because they are still in survival mode. They were literally going to go under and the company was finished when they were making persona 3, they were told it was going to be their last game over and over because of all the financial hardship and lack of sales from previous games. The whole "momemto mori" theme of the game literally comes from the developers being convinced the studio was about to die and they wanted their last game to touch on that thematically.
But then P3 came out.. and not only was it such a massive sucess that it saved them from financial ruin, they realized that they could just survive long enough to make the games they REALLY wanted to make as long as they also just kept making persona games too for revenue. And it works. It works EXTREMELY well. Do you really think the entire company just wants to make persona over and over again? Of course not, but they do it, they milk the franchise, because the shitty npcs of the world wont buy enough copies of their passion projects for atlus to stay afloat.

It's because of the Magatsuhi phase every boss has. Throwing up walls is fine, especially since you get a limited amount of them per battle or have to pay a ridiculous amount of mp to use it. It becomes a problem when every boss will telegraph a turn in advance that they're going to use a skill. A lot of the time the skill isn't even an element that the boss usually uses (Hydra only uses dark on magatsuhi, Fionn will use fire, Nuwa will use wind, etc.) so you're not even wasting a resource you might need at any other time during the fight. That just means the boss gives you a free turn for that round.

The things it did well were making status ailments a bit more relevant especially since you can actually see ailment resistances on a boss so with a proper build you can take advantage of them, taunt being introduced makes high hp low mp demons a lot more useful, and demon essences allowing you to tweak a demon after fusing it so you don't have to do a whole fusion chain to get one new skill on a demon.
You don't understand how sequels work in smt. You probably already know by now the Nocturne DLC in V confirmed V is a direct sequel to the maniax ending and actively deny it whenever it's brought up.

Caring about the plot in an SMT is full moron anyway. As far as "canonical events" go, Nocturne even talks about the Amala Network, every game and ending is simultaneously canon. I think you conflate the plot as a whole with the characters and their individual motivations. They were cool, but the plot has always taken a backseat to the world itself. And 4 shat the bed a little, but it's pretty evident where the cut content was (4A) and where Kaneko left. Kaneko and Cozy were the soul of these games, with them gone and the new demon designs (and the mostly shit guest designs) it barely feels the same anymore.
You know when the game is hot garbage when the gacha feels better to play and has actually mechanics that make my brain feel good instead of the usual weakness spam. >b-but muh ailments!

It's a good game. I'll even say it had a good story too. A minimalist approach with plenty of world building is not at all bad for an smt game. I liked it better than IV and III, but it doesn't hold a candle to most spin off stories. Spin offs are the opportunity to tell different stories after all, even though Atlus stopped making those kinds of games.
This look for Lucifer has really grown on me. V's pretty much the only time I liked him as a character too. I hope it makes a comeback, at least in Persona.

V also only received launch DLC and nothing else, other than patches. No expansions, upgrades, nothing. Then again, SMT4 didn't get one either. Apocalypse was supposed to be DLC, but it proved to be such a big game, it got spun off into its own thing.

Atlus is technically incompetent and the newer the engine, the harder it is for them to make it run on Switch's crappy, outdated hardware. Their games look so oudated that they should run at 240 FPS on 10 year old hardware, yet they couldn't even manage to get 60 FPS in P5 on Switch.
Even worse Atlus couldn't get Nocturne, a PS2 game, to run at 60fps on Switch and even the PS4 version had performance issues at launch.
It's still a Nintendo issue more than anything. Their dev kits are so outdated that developers either don't know how to use them anymore or it's a massive pain in the ass to work around, which makes the costs and effort not worth it. Less and less devs are supporting the Switch because the technology is leaving it behind. This is not strictly an Atlus related problem.

Nocturne became iconic and likely the reason why they decided to re-release it, thinking it didn't sell because of lack of proper marketing back in the day, not to mention that smt5 took heavy inspiration from it. If we see raidou inspired game announcement maybe they'll re-release both games too, but even then, there would be a problem with chinks and asiatics that find imperial Japanese references way too offensive. There are more chances for other mainline games re-release, including release of 2 with official English translation, if only these homosexuals released ps1 version in English, fan translation can't come soon enough.

It's because of the Magatsuhi phase every boss has. Throwing up walls is fine, especially since you get a limited amount of them per battle or have to pay a ridiculous amount of mp to use it. It becomes a problem when every boss will telegraph a turn in advance that they're going to use a skill. A lot of the time the skill isn't even an element that the boss usually uses (Hydra only uses dark on magatsuhi, Fionn will use fire, Nuwa will use wind, etc.) so you're not even wasting a resource you might need at any other time during the fight. That just means the boss gives you a free turn for that round.

The things it did well were making status ailments a bit more relevant especially since you can actually see ailment resistances on a boss so with a proper build you can take advantage of them, taunt being introduced makes high hp low mp demons a lot more useful, and demon essences allowing you to tweak a demon after fusing it so you don't have to do a whole fusion chain to get one new skill on a demon.

While I dont mind smt 3 story, smt 1 and especially 2 had pretty good stories and 4th was good too for obvious reasons. Apocalypse though was a wasted potential, destroyed Tokyo was cool as frick.
I think you conflate the plot as a whole with the characters and their individual motivations. They were cool, but the plot has always taken a backseat to the world itself. And 4 shat the bed a little, but it's pretty evident where the cut content was (4A) and where Kaneko left. Kaneko and Cozy were the soul of these games, with them gone and the new demon designs (and the mostly shit guest designs) it barely feels the same anymore.
You know when the game is hot garbage when the gacha feels better to play and has actually mechanics that make my brain feel good instead of the usual weakness spam.

It's a good game. I'll even say it had a good story too. A minimalist approach with plenty of world building is not at all bad for an smt game. I liked it better than IV and III, but it doesn't hold a candle to most spin off stories. Spin offs are the opportunity to tell different stories after all, even though Atlus stopped making those kinds of games.
This look for Lucifer has really grown on me. V's pretty much the only time I liked him as a character too. I hope it makes a comeback, at least in Persona.

V also only received launch DLC and nothing else, other than patches. No expansions, upgrades, nothing. Then again, SMT4 didn't get one either. Apocalypse was supposed to be DLC, but it proved to be such a big game, it got spun off into its own thing.
