        >I've been trying to get as far as I can playing this in a pretty relatively hands off way, putting weapons up for sale rather than giving them directly to my heroes for example
I have been doing that as well for the most part. I do sorta figure out who I want to build as a team as I go and then I gift them items. I reject ones eventually to clear space for rng to give me more classes till I figure out which ones I think are fine.

Kind of, but as people pointed out before it's one half Majesty and one half early 2000s Korean grinding MMO. The MMO aspects really weren't necessary and only detract from the Majesty aspects in my opinion, since so much comes down to having your heroes grind out ultra-repetitive quests. It also lacks the atmosphere of Majesty, mostly because the heroes are so random instead of being based on what buildings you have. There's no unified theme, one moment you hire a kung fu angel and the next you hire a terminator with a shotgun. Despite all that it's still a pretty neat game, but it's not worth buying at this time since it simply feels unfinished. Some aspects are jank as frick and the translation is only half finished so you can't read the text half the time. You don't really need to learn chinkanese to play it since the game is pretty straight-forward and the story is irrelevant, but it's still very annoying not knowing what a certain quest expects of you. It feels like an early access game despite not being in early access.

I'd say pirate it for now, and check back in a few months since since the devs are actively patching the game so hopefully it'll be done by then.

Yea it feels like early access to me as well. I sort of fumbled my way into various systems. Collections being the all powerful or big one. Big chunk of translations got fixed in the last patch. UI has a bunch of weird extra steps. Why do we have to reset adventurers to town to give them items when we can buy skill books or spread the skills points just fine? Lot of minor nags. The mount system especially breeding seems odd. Themes are varied so hoping they add more western ones or steampunk. Steam and elf are nice ATM.

Decor items if for city. You'll see what city stats each item pumps. If you're talking adventurers so they will settle you can use a cheese method. You can spam explore bounties to level favor or sat points on specific adventurers. Place one then another one after next till full.

Yeah the autistic MMO grinding aspect is a big turnoff for me as well. Luckily it's not as bad as it looks at first glance since it's mostly hands-off. For example, for the "kill 300 red ants" quest you just put a kill flag on a red ant and raise the quest rank to make it 300 kills, then you can leave it to mess with your village while your heroes do the actual grinding without any oversight needed.

My biggest gripes after playing for a couple of hours are first of all how bad the UI is. Everything is stuffed away in multiple sub-menus and it doesn't seem like you can set up automated production chains so you're constantly clicking through your buildings to make sure everything's properly stocked. As an example, a lot of your income comes from shops which sell shit either to tourists or to your heroes. So a simple supply chain would be something like:"
          >resources -> blacksmith -> weapons -> weapon shop -> money (and equipment upgrades for your heroes).
But you can't just build these buildings and have them go off on their own. You have to make sure you have all the resources needed and buy them from the trader if you don't have them, then you need to tell the blacksmith which weapons you want, then you have to move those weapons into the shop where NPCs will randomly buy them. And this all makes sense if you write it out, but having to do all this manually for every building type is a massive pain in the ass since you don't just have a blacksmith and a weapon shop, you have an armor shop that needs to be supplied by the dye stall, you have a souvenir shop that's supplied by your workshop, you have food shops, spice shops, and so fricking forth. And at least up to the point where I've played you can't just tell it to automatically make some teddy bears for the souvenir shop when it runs out, the best you can do is to just make a gorillion teddy bears so you can be sure they won't run out soon.

Secondly, the game just flat out doesn't tell you some of the shit you need to know. Right now I have a quest for adding an accessory to an adventurer's house. That's all well and good, but the tutorial never told me what an accessory is, what it does, where I get it, or how I add it to a building. I've been clicking around for a while and even though I think I figured out how to add accessories, that still doesn't help me because I haven't been able to find out where to actually get accessories in the first place. Needless to say, this is quite frustrating.

              >that doesn't sound bad then
It's not. It's kinda dull but most of the grinding is passive since you can just put down a quest flag and set it to 300 kills or whatever. The only real issue is that if a wandering adventurer takes a quest and leaves the island before the quest is done completed, the quest slot doesn't automatically get filled by someone else. So you do have to babysit your quests a little bit to make sure they stay active, but aside from that you mostly just sit and wait for your adventurers to solve everything on their own and you don't need to be actively involved.

Am I moronic or does the Corral not work? I researched it but it doesn't show up in the build list.

Also what the frick am I supposed to do about those hordes of level 31+ criters that keep attacking everything I build on the adventure island, when my highest level hero right now is only 17? I deliberately build all my stuff as deep into the newbie zone as possible but these homosexuals just spawn in and beeline for my mines and my Fire of Civilization. I know the buildings are supposed to attract monsters but why are they so high level?

Build one resource field building at a time. Each building placed spawns a wave of 50 monsters that come to attack it. Set s rank or a rank guard quests around the building. S rank is like 30 minutes of guard time. Alternatively you can just place one fire of civilization set the guard bounties and then build the resource farms for city map instead. Until you have around 25 to 50 settled adventurers placing multiple buildings seems pointless ATM.

        >Until you have around 25 to 50 settled adventurers
How do you get more than 12? I've got 4 adventurer houses (for 3 adventurers each) and it won't let me build any new ones. Do I have to level up more first?

You need to upgrade your dorms. Villagers are the same. Cap of 100 villagers. The senior dorm elf dorm and bamboo house all do 6. You can only have one bamboo house and one elf dorm. Senior dorms I think 4 or 6 forget. Anyways once those are upgraded you can place more medium and standard dorms. Going by the math of what I can build at 14 75ish adventurers perhaps more? I don't have that many still at 18 myself because I can hardly keep up ATM just with upgrades. Oh and also don't ignore collections. Extreme buffs souch so that you'll level your adventurers to 50 in no time even a 100. It goes quite fast with stacking buff. Gold is key I never have enough.

            >Cap of 100 villagers.
            What's tourist cap?
There were times when my blip upgrades did nothing to tourist stats (the 3 numbers in blip screen), so I though I've hit the limit, but then upgraded later and it increased again. Something I'm missing here or did I just step into the "bug zone".

              Anonymous

Villagers are capped by airship to 100 recruit. Tourists I'm around 60 ATM but the per airship number went to zero below it and it might've glitched on me. It was at around 48 I think per airship before it bugged.

Honestly I'm just going to give up on accomplishing anything on the island at all and just play it as a village management game.

This time I placed only a single Fire of Civilization, surrounded it entirely with arrow towers and strawman guards, and put down a guard mission for my heroes. I barely chase off a horde of level 31 mobs and think I'm safe, but then right afterwards an even bigger horde of level 47 mobs just steamrolls all my defenses and instarapes all my adventurers.

The combat balance feels completely moronic. Not just with buildings getting raped by endless hordes of mobs more than twice the level of my best adventurers. Boss mobs are at least as bad. A full party of level 20+ adventurers even put a dent in a level 21 boss because they do literally no damage and even a sword and shield tank dies in 2 hits. So all they can do is just endlessly grind mobs with give next to no XP.

The level cap is 150 ATM. 50 levels per manual. You are having problems primarily because your folks aren't geared or leveled enough. You also are expected to take advantage of stacking bonuses like collections and enhancements. I thought the same thing until I had an idea of how it worked. Low level problem primarily. Once you're around leviathan 7 or 10 with some of the buffs gear etc it ramps up adventurer wise. Typically by then I have several collection bonuses stacking and at least epic or legendary on one full group of adventurers with a second manual and bloodline if RNG is good.

That because your arrow towers are made out of wood and there tier 2 and tier 3 tower.

You need manually up your adventure skill to improve their combat capabilities and their gear which you could sell to them or gift to them. There some sort of collection achievement that permanent buff your adventurers stats which you could access through Function > Collect on your bottom right. If you want to min max you could also just sell superior food buff that give ton of stats. There also Enhancement tab beside Bloodline tab on adventurer UI that improve their gear proficiency.

How does bloodline work? Let say I have an adventurer with archangel bloodline, can I mix with other top tier bloodline?

            Anonymous

You can add secondary bloodlines but cannot alter the main one. You can only upgrade the main bloodline to epic. Archangel is useless btw. If you have a adventurer with a garbage bloodline like virus angel ones etc you can reject their settlement. Once they come back and they will the bloodline will be different. It rngs the line.

It's structured like a Chink grinding MMO. If there's anything I know about my vast experience with Chink grinding MMO's, it's that getting angel wings on your toon is the endgoal of 99% of all adventurers.

Also if anyone's interested in replicating this, you have to wait until the airship arrives with new adventurers, then as soon as they leave the ship zoom to their location with the locate home button in the Role menu. Since the airship lands outside the invisible wall around your village, this will take you beyond the wall and allow you to move freely across the map. To get back to your village, simply zoom to a hero who's already inside your village.

Regardless, bought the game, will play in about a week, when I'm free (that's for the context of my questions, sort of a prep) - so curious, how the bugs are, if there are things to avoid so that the save wont be bricked (just an example) and such. If there are any game-play traps (stuff that's just not worth doing in-game etc).

        >how the bugs are

I haven't seen anything serious, it's mostly just things that are annoying instead of having actual gameplay implications. So far I've seen:
        >Some dialogue and quest descriptions are in Chinese even if you set the language to English.
        >Any time you see the word "gun" in the English text, it should say "spear" instead. So for example if you craft an automated gunman guard you actually get a spearman guard, or if you find a manual for a long gun fighting style it's actually meant for spear heroes. There are actual guns in the game (mostly as part of the sword+pistol fighting style) but they are not referred to as such. I assume this is just a translation error, but it's very confusing at first.
        >The quest tracker isn't updated properly sometimes so you have to go to the task menu to see what quests are instead of just reading them from the auto tracker. Sometimes saving and reloading fixes this, sometimes it only makes things worse.
        >Heroes can get stuck on terrain and start aimlessly jumping up and down unable to reach whatever they were trying to reach (but there's a button to unstuck them so it's no big deal)
        >Buildings changing scale after upgrading. The Lab in particular becomes comically huge after upgrading it, so you'll most likely have to reposition the upgraded lab since it won't fit its original location anymore
        >Walls are sometimes a massive pain in the ass to align properly, sometimes they snap together automatically and something they just don't no matter how you rotate them, this is especially common when using corner pieces which I suspect are simply misaligned in the code somehow.
        >Sometimes when you're in the build menu all builldings get marked as being built in an impossible location (red background instead of green) even if they're not. It has no actual consequences and simply selecting the buildings fixes this, but it's a bit of an annoying surprise to see your entire village turn red for no reason.

Oh right I forgot one that is actually gamebreaking in a way, it only happened to me once but it was shitty.

This happened on the snow map (forgot the name, it's one of three adventure maps you can start on), not sure if it's specific to that map but I haven't had it happen on the default beach map. When I moved to that adventure map, I couldn't move back to my village at all. Any time I tried to switch back it just changed the music to the village music but I was still on the snow map.

        Thanks!

You can change an adventurer's "class" simply by changing their equipped weapon and teaching them an appropriate combat manual. Don't recruit them for their class or even quality (you can upgrade any quality adventurer to gold rank eventually, it just takes longer if they're low quality to start with), recruit for good bloodlines since you can't replace the primary bloodline.

Bloodlines of most adventurers (except a few special ones) are randomized every time they arrive on your island, so if you're patient you can just keep refusing adventurers until you get some with the bloodlines you want. Matching their bloodline with the weapon you want them to use (e.g. Elemental for magic, Hero for melee, not sure what's best for ranged) will eventually give the best results, but it can be a bit tedious if you're not lucky since there are a ton of weak and mediocre bloodlines.

          Anonymous

Also, for this reason I would recommend not taking a hero as a starting bonus. Their bloodline is also randomized (again, except for the special ones like Wukong or Zeus) so you might spend your points on a hero that turns out to be subpar. Better to just take more starting resources or free collection boosts.

            Anonymous

Wukong and Yang Jian have the best main bloodlines in the game. Zeus is great too but not as good. Those three are almost mandatory. It's a wash on the others generally. Hero/Superman/Elemental Mastery are the main bloodlines to keep. Mage > Flying Sword > Bow. Melee kinda sucks or is unfinished. Great sword and polearms are the only ones worth using imo.

FWIW I did some messing around and adventurer rarity doesn't matter much. Key factor is bloodline for the most part. The only positive I can see is that rarity means less upgrading via fusion. Best class is mage hands down with attack speed aoes high single target plus heals. The summoner skills cause issues with bounties quests kill credit off and on. Bloodline wise though hero and elemental mastery stand out. Superman is good too. Zeus Yang Joan and Wukong have special bloodlines so top tier. Couple others seem okayish but many have negatives on them. Wildfire codex is high damage single target good for bossing. Anti army is fantastic for leveling and just aoeing all the things. The others seem okayish some are pet oriented like puppet necro and I think jezebel. Anti army though for ultra levels though. Wildfire for chunking boss mobs. If you start a new game definitely focus on collections for the loot range buff and airship upgrades specifically the material cargo and quality on top of consumables. Those two will be your source for skill manuals and general crafting mats that are hard to get.

    The dumb question time:
I just clog buildings as tight as possible, looks crappy but otherwise - so far so good. Am I missing something here?
Is it possible to lose the game?

Rather than autism simulator, this game seems more like a casual city builder (not meant as insult in any way) with a gimmick. Am I missing something here as well and will die on some gotcha thing?

Random, but this is one of the few games that goes over 8 Gb video memory, lel.

      >I just clog buildings as tight as possible, looks crappy but otherwise - so far so good. Am I missing something here?
Nah, positioning doesn't matter in this game. As long as you're not literally blocking your people from accessing the building it's all good. Your layout doesn't need to make sense and people don't really use roads to get around anyway. You should still use roads for the efficiency bonus but they don't need to be connected in a functional way, so just go with whatever your sense of aesthetics (or lack thereof) tells you to do.

      >Is it possible to lose the game?
I don't think so. You can run out of money which can be a shitty hole to dig yourself out of, but it's not like you go bankrupt or anything as far as I've seen. It just prevents you from making/buying new stuff.

I don't bother with roads at all. I would agree city building wise from that angle is mediocre at best. It isn't a city builder though and as others have stated more along the lines of majesty. Strategy simulation game.

The wooden house is an upgrade for the pergola IIRC. So you don't build it, you just select the pergola and upgrade it from the enhancement tab.

Roads give a small efficiency bonus to nearby buildings, so there's no reason not to use them even if they don't actually help with transportation or anything logical like that.

Am I doing it wrong or are tourist shops a trap? I spend more money on crafting souvenirs than I make by selling them. Literally the only shop on my island that consistently turns a profit is the armor shop. Everything else either barely makes anything at all or even operates at a loss, even if my workshops are running overtime keeping everything supplied.

I assume, the other venues are meant to simply satisfy needs. In another words, I have no fricking clue, but would like to know as well.

Certain souvenir shops sell for more money same with upgraded versions of buildings typically. Souvenirs you generally want a lower quantity for sale so set auto restock from like 5 or 10. Elf tower and steam tower as an example sell the stuff much higher. You also need to keep in mind that some buildings or upgrades have more enhancement slots which means more money or production or double sales. There is a data tab to keep track of what is working for you. It also helps to upgrade airship so tourists have more money to spend.

        Anonymous

Aren't most shops producing one item passively all the time? Point being - it should always bring in some profit or that's not how it works?

          Anonymous

First the base item or items depending on enhancement is capped at a low number. The whole point of manning a shop and increasing efficiency is money and tourist turnover rate. You should have 40 or 50 or higher on tourists cap ideally. Enhancements plus airship upgrades make large differences on top of efficiency.

    >2. Roll

    >3. Roll

if you want the system to auto pick your adventurers it's sometimes best to make sure they're the top of the list of choices for auto bounties. You could set some bounties manually and put the ones you don't want picked on those then do your auto bounty so it has the ones you want available.

Here's a fun bug: If upgrading a building makes it heavier, and this takes you over the weight cap for your leviathan, the building simply disappears. It doesn't block the upgrade, it doesn't send the building to your inventory, it just goes "lol nope" and deletes your building.

Just lost my tavern to this bullshit.

Make sure your heroes are of a decent level, upgrade their equipment if you haven't already, and keep an eye on which collection bonuses you can complete because those really add up.

The game is all about grinding so if all else fails, just grind more. Killing bosses like the big starfish or the big crab tends to give a shitload of XP so keep an eye on when they respawn.

      >How do i make money
The easiest way to make money aside from just sitting down and producing nothing for a while, is probably to to do the merchant requests whenever the airship is in town. Even if you have to buy their requests directly from the Trading House, you'll still make decent money. If you already have them in inventory or can craft them yourself, it's pure profit. You can even keep an eye on when certain popular resources are on sale (like Slime Jelly and Crocodile Skin for example) and stockpile them if you want. Make sure to upgrade it from time to time (from the airship menu) to get better requests and make more money.

Aside form that, selling armor from the armor shop seems to be the most profitable island business. Weapons sell like shit in comparison.

Is there any reliable way to gather Chaotic Energy other than building the Fire of Civilization? I'm being bottlenecked by Chaotic Energy at the moment and the tiny trickle of 60 random resources per minute form the FoC isn't cutting it, especially since you can only have one of them.

      Anonymous

You shouldn't need the energy that much. Mystic forge chests off airship and trade house preorders generally keep you afloat in those items. The artificial resources and the reincarnation pills and scrolls are what you can fall short of especially when doing collection

        Anonymous

Pretty much all my shops need ingredients from the alchemist though.

Food needs shit like rice and flour, weapons need broken fragments, etc. Without chaotic energy I can't keep my shops supplied with items to sell. Like yeah I can buy at least some of these materials from the trade house but then I'm just cutting into my profit margins which is the only reason I'm making this junk in the first place.

          Anonymous

Your chain might be different than mine. I generally have tens of thousands of rice flour all the white materials just from trade house alone with production going full tilt. If anything I use more timber planks than I do iron and stone typically. My big issue is airship fks up and I have to hit the tourist cap upgrade to fix it mid to late game since money

          Anonymous

Armour fragments should be bought from adventurers always. even at the red price. Even if they cost 10x more it would still be insanely profitable.
Ores are eventually substituted by chaos ores which 3d prints ores into existence in exchange for increased maintenance in buildings. Meaning - practically free T2 mats. My "end-game" setup is 3 T3 workshops per each mat (3x3 -> 9 workshops) slotted with appropriate chaos material and maintenance reducing item (15+15+10=40% reduction).

Speaking of armor shops, you shouldn't go above blue gear when supplying them. My T3 armor shop stocked with blue gear brings 100-200k in a single quarter.
Another good venue is Chinese tavern selling yellow wine (~+/-100k quarterly) for which mats can be fully supplied by adventurers.
Even the scrolls can be auto-bought in decent quantities.

Point being, I find myself not having anything to spend chaos energy on, frankly.
BUT that is considering one never goes above blue gear for mass production (everything above - only for equipping adventurers).

            Anonymous

I have a similar experience. I primarily use alchemy shop for my reincarnation pills late game. Late game meaning 10 to 15 leviathan with production chains mostly set and core group or groups of adventurer teams. Airship is level 50 to 150 with tourists in the 40 to 60 range. Anyways I mostly use what chaos I have to finish the forever collections tab for that loot range pickup buff and experience buff. Loot range is the big one for me and keeps me stocked up well enough on many goods.

              Anonymous

              >Loot range is the big one for me

Dragon statue and collection items are my goto on those. What irks me about adventurer picks is besides the dlc guy and three others you get a RNG bloodline. It wouldn't be that big of a deal if bloodlines were like skill manuals where you can just delete them.

I put Jez + Army + Wildfire on everyone regardless of their bloodline and the they plow through everything + occasional full healer.
Speaking of healers, never tried it but just got curious, could one stack 3 jez manuals and have multiple heals on a single adventurer (since I know for a fact, that a person can have multiple manuals of the same type which is discovered by mistake but never tried to check if it'll count as multiple skills)?

Yea when I do full mage runs I do those 3 primary. The only issue is they kill way too fast and I need to beeline loot range buff. Pet mages are also baller AF but again that force multiplier altho amazing annoys you when you need kill credit sometimes. I've done bow runs but it's like a worse mage tbh. The double up thing seems to work for bloodlines not sure on skills but wouldn't be surprised. It would be easy to check once they level the books to see if you get two copies on the popup.

The buffs gets applied while they're in your village and lasts for a certain amount of time when they go to the monster islands. They do wear off eventually, so your dudes will have to return to the village regularly to keep the buffs. Later on you can unlock some stuff to make the buffs last longer, but it's never permanent.

Yea you will see the temp buffs from city buildings decorations green icons short about five to ten minutes and then the leviathan whale icon which is your collection buff. Afaik the whale icon doesn't list a timer but will dissipate. They will all refresh when they hit town again. City building decor buffs go up to 300 or level 10 if I recall right. Most important buffs are the forever tab loot range and XP.

Someone said something about new islands or leviathan maybe. No clue it could lame like the other one since it adds a blue adventurer and something else. Start screen has a blue adventurer locked like the sword guy from the freebie.

Looks like they intend for the game to be GAAS in disguise, just adding more and more microtransactions while the game itself isn't even finished yet.

Yea no clue what the mindset is here. Every patch seems to break translations or add more bugs or bring them back. Game isn't stable yet they keep adding more stuff. They haven't really added stuff to what was already there like hammers scythes sword etc. most of these weapons lack manuals for specialization or itemization. Bloodlines most are useless on top of poor translations. Quality of life fixes to make things manageable like preorder all items or like they recently added use all enhance books on the hero tab but it only uses one book if they RNG 2 or 3 books you still have to click on them and then click on refresh. Quite a laundry list of things the game needs tbh. Trade house needs sorting to various degrees as well as the hero menus. Mystic fusion needs a checkbox for heroes that don't have two bloodlines already. Kinda like the reincarnation array entitled checkbox.

these buttholes were kicking my adventurers asses. Finally got them. Just moved to a new island for the first time. Drained all the chaos energy from Treasure island and flew my manta ray to Elven Forest.

yeah some QOL stuff would be nice. I would really like to see a 'favourites' tab on the market screen to jump into
More manuals and clarity around them. I'm looking for a second manual for my 1-handed sword user and when I look into it, it looks like it's for bow users even tho it says for sword and spear. Oh well added it anyway. Having some hammer manuals would be nice. I want to have a hammer adventurer settle in

Yea murloc sages are strong boss mobs. You will also find plenty of mobs that will just wipe out your team in one hit. This is partly why flying sword and mages anti army specs are so strong they one shot AOE are ranged and can tackle most of everything. They also have plenty of manuals to main spec 3 then pad the rest of the 12 with op passives like duckweed and others. Keep in mind 12 manuals which once learned you keep all passive bonuses when they are switched out. Speaking on manuals further if you decide to run something not optimal or fleshed out see what stats you need for that weapon group. Add the right legendary mount to boost with 3 or 4 passives plus stats and any manuals regardless of what it says for passives that pump your DPS etc.

Nice. I do the exact same unless it's an item I know I need for airship upgrades. Craft stalls adventurer dorms promotion books and warehouse manuals etc. The other bonus is any extras just queue in lab for points.

New patch dropped today 1.6.8 from 1.6.7. They sorta fixed full inventory eating items like gear and bloodline materials. It pops an error message. That was done in 1.6.7. They also made more adventurers cycle even on first island. I'm getting epic adventurers now before first reincarnation that isn't Judy. Translations in some areas kinda messed up again.

      >They also made more adventurers cycle even on first island
I almost want to start a new game for this alone but it looks like there's a big DLC (for free) and I would think a patch would come with it on the 28th so I'll hold off until then. I only just jumped to a second island so restarting shouldnt be a huge issue.
The DLC stuff looks pretty fricking sweet tho and looks like they are slowly working on workshop support

whats the dfifference between the 3 starter zones

      Anonymous

      My subjective opinion:
      Murlocks on treasure island are a leveling cheat (do boss assignments where one is strong and others are shitters (they must hit it once though for xp from kill to count though so gotta time it (build that park where adventurers gather before quests*~~;
Sandbox has the portal in a neat corner where you can place the resource generating building in and monsters will funnel nicely making it more convenient to place defenses and adventurers coming and going through portals will prove to be nice defense force without the need to micromanage.
But in frankly, there's not really a meaningful difference other that a slight variation in available drops.

does it matter which zone do i pick for my first playtrough?

Not sure.. i think i'll try a different zone for this new playthrough. I've always started with Treasure Island and it was a good starter zone. Like other anon said murlocks are good. There are also those golden slimes that drop fat loot. Although I spend most of my time city building and sending my adventurers out without really looking at them.

The new dlc is free. The sword one you gotta message yixing. The sword one really isn't worth it anyways so NBD until you get a key for free. Make sure to browse all click on the tabs to find the free dlc though. I had to click on new releases or something the day of release to have it show up. The new island totally trumps the stupid sword dlc.

I wish the game had more depth and the autism that comes with it, but as of now - it's a pretty decent casual game, which I'm NOT stating as an insult.

It doesn't look like anyone starts with Flying Swords. Are there any particular classes that tend to move into flying swords best? I was thinking like one-handed swordsmen or dual wielders because of the crit but idk.

      Anonymous

It doesn't matter at all. What matters if you want meta or min max will be primary bloodline then add whatever secondary one that works with your build. You can delete the default skill manuals anyone comes with or a mistaken one at anytime. What matters there are the bonuses passives that you have in all 12 slots. Mount stats also help.

      Anonymous

Oh also don't look at them as classes that are rigid. You can make everyone a mage or say flying sword and build them accordingly.

How do you level your adventures in a new game? Spam bounties? Unrelated, there's a tutorial exploit you can do, never finish the tutorial on the last stages and you'll always have insanely fast production and research speeds with no workers and default wages.

      Anonymous

If you want to recruit one you can spam explore bounties till favor is maxed. if you want to level you will have to be liberal with manual bounties. Killing bosses over and over. Taking on high XP mobs or targets in general that you infer from each island. Sandbox map has red pink chests that spawn reapers that give decent XP. Foggy forest has a good farm plus alot of easy to get to bosses.

When it comes to leveling manuals that are equipped, to they level up automatically or do I have to go into each character and each equiped manual and click the 'auto' button for the XP to be distributed and used?

Sometimes you need to force it if you shuffled manuals around all that. I go through and double check they are equipping skills by level 20. If they are good I'll maybe edit skills and rotation then or later. If not I go through and manually hit auto on each book. It varies if you edit them it'll seemingly break auto study and a reload of save or reincarnation fixes it.
