How? How the frick can Bethesda still be so shit after all these years? How are they even still in business with this level of quality?

      It is my fault.

Because my past experiences with Bethesda games should have taught me that they will frick you over one way or another and I still fell for it and bought it.

Turn off weapon debris if you don't have a mod to fix it. Fallout 4's physics is tied to its framerate and it gets upset at anything higher than 120. Cap your FPS there to stop audio sync issues.

Dude, I'm literally in Sanctuary Hill. It crashed on the run to the vault. Nothing has really happened to justify it crashing for the 6th time now..

I had the same problem at the same exact point. Trust me, this will fix it. Alternatively, install the weapons debris fix mod.

        >Cap your FPS
nta but base game doesn't let you do that, you need a mod

Do it in your GPUs control panel.

        >Fallout 4 came out in 2015
        >for some moronic reason it freaks the frick out if the framerate is above 60 and needs mods to stop the physics, voices and cutscenes from going bonkers

Like they somehow didn't think people would have rigs that can run the game above 60 fps back then?

          No

Also, I didn't have nearly as many issues with 4 as I did with NV. Had to mod he shit out of it just to get it to work.

You're welcome. I tried to get back into Fallout 4 too but I just can't get into that game. I was experiencing the same problem and after some quick research, I found that fixed it. I'm not a fan of the watered down systems, Boston as a setting, and the synth storyline. I played a few hours, and ended up reinstalling New Vegas again. I had even more issues getting that to run on my 4080 but after modding it I've minimized crashing to something tolerable.

              I don't even know.

Yeah, I don't anticipating liking this game Fallout much because it's apparently not even an RPG and Bethesda's idea of what Fallout is is moronic, but it was cheap.

Don't forget the high fps mod that decouples the physics. And the raw mouse input mod. Mandatory.

I've played oblivion and skyrim unpatched on a fricking 360 and these complaints about bugs and crashes seem completely exaggerated

Xbox 360 versions were actually less crash prone due to being locked to a specific hardware build, the FPS limit being locked to 15-30 frames in particular stops a lot of issues with their frankensteined engine.

I had zero issues playing NV in my last computer, 6700K/ GTX 980 and eventually a 5700XT. Worked fine on there. Now on my 13700K/4080 machine it crashes every five fricking seconds. At least modding it seemed to help mitigate it, but I'm still getting random crashing here and there.
