All attemps at copying runescape are doomed to fail because everyone seems to think people played Runescape only for the chores and endless grind
While Runecape was cool back in the day because MMO's were still cool and the online element was exciting, with people just hanging out, chatting with strangers and enjoying that they can play with and interact with people from around the world in real time
Now not only the "social" element of mmo's became mundane but people playing them are antisocial as hell & are only interested in the grind & "endgame"
Mmos will never be good again
It's a good thing the devs said they're reducing the autism grind elements that nobody actually likes.

it's the exact opposite, the problem is every other MMO doesn't have a grind, they always add in ways to skip all the content because they think players only want to play the end game only. to be a proper runescape clone, you need a massive grind, a huge number of quests to complement the grind and a bunch of resources, it's a lot of work to accomplish so all the superficial mimics gave up way too quick to get to that point or just didnt bother making it grindy enough so you complete the content in a day and have nothing else to do. or even worse, they completely misunderstand what grind means and add in dailies instead to timelock people so that they're forced to buy X memberships to complete a task.

I'm optimistic that this will actually be a good MMO, however MMOs are a dying genre and nothing about this game looks like it will stand out enough to magnetise any considerable playerbase.
MMO by definition cannot be kino. It is a genre devoid of any passion or soul, made solely to suck money and life out of its playerbase.
