We've been through worse. And its partly the community's fault too.
That said, I got DD2, and I am kinda disappointed. The performance is ungodly poor on my machine (yeah, yeah, poorgay whatever). But from what I gather, the game is mostly a remake than a sequel. No Moon, no Tower, none of those cut features and content from the first game, that I, and many others, expected to be restored in full glory in 2.
But that has little to do with MH, which is done by a different team.
Don't worry, it runs like shit on good rigs too.
Capcom is filled with incompetent Japs that can't optimize games.

It's definitely a sequel. Moon and Tower might not be in but several other things that were planned for 1 did make it in. And 2 has Unmoored World which is way more fleshed out compared to 1's post-dragon

very small monster roster, limited weapon selection, no G rank, unrefined underwater combat for like 3 monsters. That being said, it's still a very good game I played for hundreds of hours back in the day. I just consider it the 'worst' in a series of great games. Have fun, anon!

My biggest concern with Wilds is the whole open world thing and how it's gonna impact performance. I'm tired of open world games having the worst possible performance consistently in modern PC games. I just can't trust Capcom with it after DD2.
I think the only modern open world game that doesn't have fricked up performance and optimization was Death Stranding, but that's because Kojimbo's studio actually knows what the frick they're doing.
Death Stranding was also pretty much the only modern open world game without Denuvo. Except for Cyberpunk, which got patched into a more playable state.
