People don't recall how bad the early 2010's really was.

Even the worst early 2010s game is better than the best 2020s game, troony

It's still the most immersive fantasy world simulator in existence, nobody has even tried to surpass it.

Oblivion, Morrowind and Daggerfall have it beat on that score.

        No, they're not even close.

Dragons Dogma 1 was better, and that game was 25% finished.

DD's world is completely static, the npcs stand in place, the enemy camps respawn every time you leave and reenter a zone. The quests are like MMO fetch quests, you can't steal shit or do anything interesting other than fighting the same monsters over and over. It's not even close.

Yeah, people don't even understand what's special about TES, they just go around smacking people and minmaxing, then try to compare it to fricking dark souls or something

There's nothing special about Bethesda RPG's.

Why am I supposed to care that I can steal quest items or come up with inventive solutions to quests when the writing is always god awful? Why am I supposed to care about the variety of combat options when actually playing the combat is boring, awkward and annoyingly jank? Why would I bother exploring their worlds when the only thing to find is a loot cave or another poorly written NPC?

So its not your type of game. Fine whatever.

Even if it IS your type of game it's fricking dogshit.

Just because Todd is the only one who makes these kinds of games, doesn't make them worth playing. Starfield isn't an anomaly, people are just finally waking up to reality.

This, they're as perfect as can be. No one else has done it better. Skyrim is a complete package, as good as it gets currently.

All the Elder Scrolls games are pretty decent honestly. At least for their time. Some have more replay value than others. There werent many games like them back then.

I remember Gothic being the only real competitor to Morrowind back then (in yurop), but its not like everyone didnt play both.

Given Beteshedas almost complete loss of reputation I am not sure if Elder Scrolls 6 will be a big success. Probably will be the first Elder Scrolls I dont buy day 1.

      >There werent many games like them back then.
People always say this like it's an excuse for playing dogshit games. Skyrim is fricking ass and I don't care if no other game does that specific thing in that specific way, it's still a trash game.

      >Beteshedas almost complete loss of reputation
They stumbled making an online game and a new IP with key differences to TES, so those failures don't matter to me. If they revealed they're doing something drastically different for TES, then I'd be worried.

Mod friendly. Say what you want about Bethesda but allowing such open crowd sourcing to a game is actually a genius move, intentional or not.

This is so hilariously disingenuous, those blood sucking c**ts have been chasing dollar signs since the dawn of time, It's just become more solved how to get them.

Because it scratches particular needs in some autists minds.
    >muh the game anticipating moronic actions
    >muh epic realistic dialogs
    >muh I'm a classless nobody who can become ANYTHING
    >muh epic necromancy
    >muh neutral path

Because you could do a lot of stuff and when you got bored you could mod the game. It also helps when your competition is doing a slop drop every year so nothing better came out.
