>Balance patches for a single player game
You absolute joyless pieces of shit. What kind of a miserable c**t do you have to be to see players enjoying funny broken builds and go "HUMPH! I'LL BE HAVING NONE OF THAT!"?

Because one day they hope to make it multiplayer like Edmund just did with Isaac
>Edmund just did with Isaac
Who and who? Use your words like a big boy.
You are very rude. I'm leaving.
Stop assuming everyone knows who you're talking about when you can't even type the name of the game because you're an ADHD underageb&.
Learn to use a search engine and not expect everyone to spoonfeed you
I knew he was talking about Binding of Isaac. I just felt like playing dumb and insulting him for being so presumptuous as to expect people to know who Edmund McMillaen by just saying "Edmund" is as if he's Kojima or Miyamoto.
>*tips fedora*
Binding of Isaac
imagine not knowing binding of isaac. fricking newbie
>Nerfing broken shit LE BAD
>Patches just can't buff garbage or rework the game so way more shit is viable becasue moron Black person OP needs its ragebait
kys
>Nerfing broken shit LE BAD
Yes. It's a video game, not a job or a professional sport.
>Patches just can't buff garbage or rework the game so way more shit is viable
But it's never just "oh we made the shit stuff good", they always nerf the broken stuff too even though it harms no one.
>It's a video game, not a job or a professional sport
Irrelevant. Look at videogame or even gaming history, try finding a widespread "well this I-win-button has to stay because some players have fun with it" precedent. Compare it with "there should always be some skill involved".
>try finding a widespread "well this I-win-button has to stay because some players have fun with it" precedent.
Every modern Squeenix port of FF1-FFXII has a button for fast forward like on a VHS player, a button of infinite health and a button to turn off random encounters.
>who cares that they buffed literally half the game, gib back my crutch i don't want to git gud!
pathetic lmao
kys
>who cares that they buffed literally half the game, gib back my crutch i don't want to git gud!
It's a singleplayer game, why do you care?
He is a homosexual who looks for internet points by screen capping achievements and posting them on anon basket weaving forums to make his tiny penis hard
single player games have more worth than multiplayer games, they should be balanced and optimized.
Why do you need developers to railroad you when you can just choose not to use the exploit? Do you have no self control?
Making interesting decisions and encouraging strategic thought is the job of the game designer. If I'm playing an RTS (let's assume it's only single-player) and there's a wide array of units with specialized roles like anti-air, anti-mobility, sieging, etc., but there's also a unit that's so good at everything that it makes the other units obsolete, that's just shitty game design.
>but you could just choose to not use it
Finding an effective strategy is a big appeal of games like this. If I have to constantly think "but I shouldn't try the most effective strategy because then the game becomes boring", that means the devs have failed at designing an interesting strategy game
i care because it makes morons like you cry, which enhances my experience
You care because you base your self worth off video game "achievements". You care because your real life is devoid of anything to be proud of, so you convince yourself video game "challenges" mean anything. Video games are toys and entertainment, the fact you take them this seriously is proof you have nothing going on in real life worth talking about.
>armchair psychology
You may not understand this, but some people find overcoming challenges to be entertaining.
Ah yes, all those hardcore gamers are smiling ear to ear getting their shit pushed in by the latest soulslike or multiplayer FPS. It's not like there's millions of hours of footage of them raging out and punching holes in their walls.
That's their problem.
get good
ok shitter, cry harder, provide me more entertainment by being filtered by yet another piss easy game
*enables cheats*
*makes thread on Ganker talking about my thoughts on the game*
>even though it harms no one.
It feels bad to have to make a choice between a fun build and a good build. If Build A is overpowered and trivializes the game, then every time I lose using Build B, I'm gonna think "well I could win if I used Build A". It'd be like having a "win the game" button on screen at all times, taunting you. It doesn't make the game better.
Furthermore, Build A might be so overpowered that it doesn't make you engage with all the mechanics of the game. For example, if the build makes it basically impossible to get hit, you might not engage with the healing mechanics at all, therefore making the game more shallow.
so what you are saying here is that you have zero self control
why is this my problem?
>every game should have a "skip gameplay" button
why do you even play video games?
>makes up random shit
you could just have said "you win, sorry"
i accept your surrender and apology
not him but ?
trivializing gameplay is what OP is defending
just turn on cheat engine
>Everyone must suffer so I can enjoy my artificial adversity and illusion of challenge
>Everyone must suffer so I can enjoy facerolling and winning the game without trying
just get a godmode mod
>Busted weapon/mechanic is in the game
>Casuals get to have their fun, hardcore players can still challenge themselves by not using it
>Dev patches out the busted weapon/mechanic
>Casuals have their fun ruined, hardcore players gain nothing
I don't care what the casuals want
The normal players gain a new option they can use without it trivializing the game and that's a good thing
"I lack self determination, I need the bleach to be locked up or else I'll drink it"
Come on newbie, you know that if you want to strawman someone you should use a meme arrow instead of quotation marks, right?
Not saying they should nerf stuff for this type of thing, but I do understand where you're coming from.
AC6 gave me that experience. Whenever things got hard I thought I should just bust out a dual Zimmerman and Needle build to say frick it. I only did that on my first pass at Ibis I didn't beat the game now.
I think its tightrope devs need to walk. Is something a bit busted but very fun? Should probably leave it alone. Is something so strong its muscling out the enjoyment for other builds? Consider a nerf or buffing other stuff to compete if thats possible without breaking the difficulty entirely. There just isn't really a one size fits solution, imo.
Yeah, don't get me wrong, I do think devs can go too far with nerfing. If it's a powerful playstyle many people enjoy, and it's not always a no brainer pick, better to leave it alone. But "nerfs in a singleplayer game are always bad" is a very reductionist take
What a shit opinion.
It's a fact.
Rose was in the wrong about everything
>creative assembly removing anything that has the potential risk of being fun from campaigns to appease the 5 people that play total war multiplayer
this woman smell like shit because of medical reasons.
>Single player game has a tacked on multiplayer PVP mode nobody cares about
>Devs nerf things to balance the PVP
> multiplayer has been updated for the past 10 years
> singleplayer hasn't been touched since launch
> play a couple of hours of singleplayer to learn the game before hopping into multiplayer
> it's like playing a completely different game
destiny...
plebstiny is fake mmo with tacked singleplayer
>ah C&C3 was pretty fun think im gonna play it again
>wow i cant remember it being this fricking hard!
>multiplayer balance has completely fricked over the single player and it was never fixed
t-thanks MP bros...
There is no difference between pre-launch and post-launch balance patches other than you were aware of the changes of the latter.
what the frick are you even trying to say, are you moronic?
Patch culture was a mistake and balance autists will always try to suck the fun out of everything. I wanna say balance Black persony started to get extra popular once the souls games came out and their insufferable pvp community cried about everything, and then fighting games were also making balance changes around the same time. Then it just blew up and a lot of people became obsessed with "balance" in all video games whether they were single player or multiplayer. It's genuinely fricking insane.
>balance doesn't matter in a single player game
Is there a more moronic midwit opinion than this?
>NOOOOO MUH ZIMMERMANS GOT NERFED, NOW THE GAME IS TOO HARD!
another pleb filtered by Kino Core 6.
Game is piss easy even without touching zims ever and can only filter some moronic game journos
It's because zoomers can't self-regulate, only following the status quo, and think being the first to point out a "wrong" earns them an award.
They think any game that isn't operating at 100% through the developer's intentions is broken, and therefore unplayable.
Not perpetually "fixing" a game is a death sentence for publishers in the modern market.
Yeah, there are issues with games being publicly released in a beta state, but that's still not the core issue.
>Use broken shit
>Game is boring
>Use UP shit
>Game is unsatisfying
The concept that single player games don't need patching is a complete lie propagated by shitters who want to use broken stuff to beat the game without effort or learning curve.
Look at Armored Core VI. It died in a week after people burned through the game with double zimmers because the other weapons were trash, and never recovered.
>the other weapons were trash
>gatlings
>songbird
>wormgun
>earshot
>pilebunker
You don't play
>Posts the 6 OP weapons in the game
wow
Wow, looks like not all other weapons are trash!
I'm not gonna pull up all the shit Ganker put in the "you didn't beat the game" category back on the first week just for your whiny ass.
>caring what morons on Ganker say
most of the weapons not mentioned were mid at best anyway until they did the buffs
AC “died” because of bad pvp balance and complete lack of support (there’s not even ranking why lol)
No it "died" in a week because you don't need to continue playing a finished game with a definitive ending. I know this is a foreign concept to zoomers who play glorified early access/live service titles who think perpetually patching a game should be normal.
If you don't care about balance and want the game to be piss easy, then play on Easy Mode then.
i just dont get the appeal of filipino females
I think we should bring back cheat codes so that people who whinge about "but it's FUN" can just enable god mode, that way everyone will be happy
I'm upset too anon
YOU DIDN'T BEAT THE GAME
This is literally game design 101, good game design is all about keeping players in the flow channel.
My rival always wanted to play on Drizzle in RoR 1/2 and I was curious why then played Rainstorm with him and learned that he's dogshit garbage enough to feel engaged and challenged in Drizzle
