Can we have an actual discussion about this game and not just steam charts shitflinging?
What classes are you guys doing? Who's in your party?
Have you guys had any glitches? I've had a shitload, among others, selecting laezel will randomly break the hud sometimes, and Volo never appeared in my camp after freeing him. I'm worried I'll run into a glitch that will completely frick my entire game
Not on Ganker. The shazamtroons are having a complete and total meltdown, and people are just egging them on with the charts.
>Can we have an actual discussion
>Not on Ganker. The shazam
Pottery.
>Not on Ganker.
I don't play westoid slop
yeah you just play the same anime jrpg slop
Fun is fun, homosexual
WEGs are not video games
Everyone who bought the game is busy playing it, the people posting on Ganker or any forum really are chuds who didn't play the game, or anti chuds who didn't play the game
I want to like the game but man pathfinder wotr really spoiled me
It's amazing how many quality of life features aren't there.
No quick way to change party members, have to talk EVERY TIME
Vendors have limited cash so you have to cycle round them
Inventory management in general is a joke, can't easily sell all junk, have to constantly swap shit between party members
I like the game but so much of it is tedious busywork that doesn't need to be there
>What classes are you guys doing?
I can't decide, i keep restarting. I don't like anything I play.
>Have you guys had any glitches?
A million, been playing coop and the game won't stop crashing, several bugs too, specially graphical ones.
imo it would be help alot if you play BG1/2 and LARP as the previous MC's descendant
worked for me (am a DOSgay who hasn't played the original BGs until very recently)
>directx version runs like shit
>vulkan version frequently bugs out
Why not just release one version and make it good insteaf
Do your companions react to you being nude? How do npcs react to you and your companions' nudity? Is there different reactions for female nudity and male nudity from both companions and other npc?
I keep my female party members nude at camp and haven't noticed any reactions to it
the companions randomly bring it up when you chat with them. npcs dont care.
>Can we have an actual discussion about this game
no, troony game
All in your head. The games you play.
I'm waiting for the hotfix patch to get uploaded somewhere.
>he isn't aware of cs.rin.ru
They only had the steam version last time I checked, I got the GOG one.
I think I'm shit at the game or something cause I keep getting wiped out in act 2
I am waiting for them to fix College of Lore Bard, that completely tanked my first playthrough
How so?
4 basedboy male companions that only women on birth control would find appealing and one female companion that looks like a girl I had a crush on in high school.
Larian can suck a dick.
you can kill them all for stress relief, then frick the homely demon chick
Rogue Assasin, game's fun to play multiplayer with friends on voip.
It's a gateway into DnD.
This is the worst shit I've played in the last 10 years.Every aspect of this "game" is annoying and can drive a person to madness in a few hours. Culturally and artistically, things are just as bad. There are template characters, plot, dialogues, quests. There are uninteresting locations and the world. The feeling that you are spending the most time with the minimum possible pleasure. This game brings absolutely nothing new to the genre, managing to screw up in the simplest things.
And most importantly - there is no feeling of adventure.
You must be playing it wrong.
poor man's oblivion
Do people actually think Shadowheart is ugly? I saw a lot of that pre-release.
She's ugly in the sense that in order to make her physically appealing the game literally goes out of its way to make all other female companions and NPCs look like absolute dogshit while making all the males look like Romance Novel-tier trash.
I think you might just be a homosexual.
>Being upset there are no attractive female characters in a game while every other male looks like a homosexual makes a person a homosexual
Considering Shadowheart is one shaved jawline away from being a troony I'd say you're the homosexual here, anon.
uh oh schizo moment
No, actual real humans in the real world
don't think that. You will only ever see that posted on Ganker because the people here are extraordinarily brain damaged
hyper eurojank, think witcher 3 but even jankyer and with an in depth combat system
Am I not supposed to be killing everything in the goblin camp?
You really don't have to. I attempted to get through the goblin camp with the least amount of murder possible. Still racked up a bodycount in the double digits, though. There was no way to break Halsin out of his cell without killing some goblins, and unfortunately two of them were children.
>he hasn’t looked into his passive skills yet
You don’t need to kill anyone, technically.
The only way I could see that working was if I joined up with them. I was intent on freeing Halsin to help out the folks at the Grove and there didn't seem to be anyway to get him out of that cell peacefully.
No, I mean check your passive skills, there’s an option for non-lethal combat. You can click it and just bludgeon them to 1 hp and knock them unconscious instead of killing them. Extremely helpful for certain situations.
>Halsim getting stoned
>tell gobbos to frick off
>kill all
>knock the kids unconscious so I can still morally grandstand
>kids won’t remember due to brain damage
Ezpz
Oh, well, I had Astarion kill the kids anyway, I figured he wouldn't mind it.
>killing animal abusing gobbo children doesn't oathbreak
>kill them
Ezpz
>he hasn’t looked into his passive skills yet
>You don’t need to kill anyone, technically.
how? he told me he wouldn't leave unless I killed the goblin leaders
I never found Halsin. I was able to enter the camp by mind reading the goblin at the gate and pretending to be a messenger. I got tortured by a pervert, freed Volo, and broke into the treasure horde. Once I realized you get power ups by killing the leaders after the priestess lured me away, I killed the other two. Teleported back to the grove to sell equipment, and they told me Halsin was back.
I did the same thing mind reading and getting into camp without a fuss, but I talked to a bunch of goblins and figured out they captured a bear with the intruders and that must be Halsin, so I looked for a dungeon or animal pens and eventually found a bear in a cage.
I just had Asterion disguise self into a drow to get around most of the goblin areas. I've never had that spell be as useful as it is in this game.
I killed them. I killed all of them. They're animals and I slaughtered them like animals.
Halsin being clearly a good guy but also immediately murdering two children when you free him is always funny to me
Good but not an idiot.
Gobbo genocide is always justified anyway.
they are goblin children, barely a step above, and may Helm forgive me for uttering this word, tiefling children
>bugs
flickering black UI panel on the right half of the screen often in dialogue. almost as if it could be rendering the background of high visibility text option but misplacing the X/Y then shutting it off.
killed a big burrowing homie in the underdark and his corpse flung up into a wall stalagtite pillar thing near me, and then all his vertexes went across the map so I have this stretched out skin texture of him obscuring the entire area. could no longer navigate without clicking him to loot. had to load and fight him again but he behaved differently and fled, so I had to fight him twice more, and his burrowing knockdown did a bunch of damage.
lost 40 mins yesterday because it decided it wouldnt save. shut off cloud sync to fix it hopefully, no problems today.
>things that annoy me
threw water barrel at fire near burning manor and it produced a steam cloud, then the fire surface appeared again
walking in woods, boar SCREECH REEEE REEEE ambient noise
overall though im having a blast and am in a duergar zone now, the jank isnt too bad.
genocide is one option but I found a way to kill a leader and hide her body so it probably exists for the other 2 as well.
Jesus christ, thats like a dozen people showing up just to seethe. If you don't like something why give it attention?
It's called shaming and it used to be an effective technique to battle idiocy and homosexualry.
>It's called shaming
Shaming doesn't work when the one trying to shame has no standing. Imagine an hunchback nerd making fun of you for your looks, it obviously wouldn't work. The same applies to Ganker, nobody is going to be affected by your shaming attempts when anyone can tell that you're butthurt.
You paid for gith breasts. Everyone on Earth has standing to shame you.
>paid
No I didn't.
Getting really fricking tired of Gale. Should have just gotten a merc Mage.
Frick Gale, I thought he was cool to banter with at the start but the constant
>MUH MANA
>YOU REALLY DON'T WANT TO FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENS
>I NEED AN ITEM RIGHT NOW
Shut the frick up mate
Bard Halfling traveling with Shadowheart, Karlach, Astarion
No save scumming narrative outcomes, first time playing and having so much fun, being able to distract npcs with bard music is really helpful for cheesing some situations, just entered the underground glowing area with the exploding mushrooms and minotaur's but they're fricking me up, I might go back and level up a bit
Also as for glitches, yeah the little kid you rescue from the harpies is absolutely bugged the frick out and won't complete the quest when I talked to him, probably doesn't matter now since I made the red skins leave the area
I played divinity os 2 up til after port Joy and I got bored. Is this better?
It's worse by all metrics.
i never got past the port in 3 attempts to play dos2 but im loving this so far
Fort Joy is the only fully completed location in DOS 2.
It doesn't drag on as much as the beginning of Fort Joy did, definitely much better on the exploration side too as far as the 1st act goes
I'm playing a gnome wizard. Doing a basic b***h balanced party. Astarion, Shadowheart, and Lae'zel. Trying to make my character all about illusions and enchantments rather than spamming fireball. Managed to actually bluff and sneak my way through a lot of encounters so far.
I vow to never play, purchase or consume any content related to this gross as frick nasty frickin troony garbage.
Every time I see a post like this I remember that it's likely a self hating troony typing this out in her poorly fitted anime cosplay outfit.
Trying to decide what to mix with 6 to 8 levels of Open Hand Monk, Str based with Tavern Brawler, pure unarmed and wearing armor.
So basically, what class might be best at 4-6 levels added since really all I need is 2 feat levels for Tavern Brawler and Str+2 (or another Str+1 feat if I use the hag hair on myself). Gonna be hitting a shitload, all with my bare hands, using my bonus action on it.
Could get like... heavy armor and shield from Fighter or Ranger, both are alright. Or another bonus action from Thief and sneak attack damage throwing a dagger once a turn (should get the Tavern Brawler bonus too).
Or just go with full casters for some extra support. Any suggestions?
Should I dip if I want to be a martial warlock or is pact of the blade sufficient
You'll want medium armor proficiency if you're going melee, so a dip will probably be necessary
Bros...I've talked to some of the female goblins. They are awakening something in me...
they're just ghetto shortstacks. you can find them irl in the hood.
If there's no narrative acknowledgement of me not using the parasites I'm going to be annoyed
Is it me or do the mage classes suck? Playing Sorc and it's worse in every way compared to barbarian/rogue. You have to use spell slots to even deal comparable damage to a single 2H hit from barb, cantrips are worse than just shooting an arrow, and you have less tankiness.
pic unrelated, superior magic system
Casters start off very weak and dependent on martial classes to defend them. But once the spellcaster has level 3 spell slots, it flips, and they become the primary powerhouse of the party. Wizards especially, once they get fireball they can lay waste to an entire encounter before the martials can do anything.
Proper magic use is about maximozing CC.
In 5e being a blaster caster is pointless, as martial classes just do more damage. However, especially after the initial levels magic gets really strong. Just gotta not be a brainlet
I'm only lv4 so I really hope magic picks up
Yeah you still haven't hit the power spike yet. Level 3 spells is where it starts to take off.
Mage suck as damage dealers in poe too (until later into the game). Cyphers literally shit out more damage than a fighters and can spam spells as well instead of being limited by per rest cuckery.
Magic has a lot of utility both in and outside combat. At low level you're not going to do much damage, so you have to find other ways to be useful by manipulating the terrain or hindering enemies in order to help your party. Martial classes like fighters or rogues are better at dealing damage at a low level, they're going to be the backbone of your party in combat encounters while you're low level. But once the spellcaster gets to level 5 or so, they start getting access to very powerful magic.
At level 2 it's impressive to see the fighter insta-kill a goblin with a single attack, or the rogue snipe an enemy dead with a sneak attack, but once a wizard knows fireball he fricking destroys an entire troop of goblins in one spell.
You'd need a few levels of Barbarian to get the enraged throw, but if you get the Tavern Brawler feat you can make your throwing stronger, and if you get an ally to cast Enlarge on you, you'll be able to throw bigger shit that does more damage too.
Mages are overpowered even from lvl 1, the only thing they lack is direct damage, and even then only at very low levels.
Play as a wizard. Pick sleep up and you are the god of the early game. Pick practically anything not completely moronic and you are the god of the rest of the game, and even if you somehow frick it up and pick only the worst spells it doesn't even matter because you can collect them all from scrolls.
the rule for 5e is that magic classes suck ass until you are level 5 then they become god tier.
That kid you save from harpies by the tiefling village must've developed severe autism from the fight because the fricker won't talk at all
how do I improve on throwing stuff and people as paladin, besides gear? Like can I get enraged throw somehow?
There’s a few equipment items that specialize in throwing shit, I think found mostly in the underdark.
interesting op I have that same lazel glitch
Game has an UNBELIEVABLE amount of dialogue.
You could spend literal ours just talking to NPCs in the first village. (I would know)
Todd might as well eat his hat, RPGOTY is clearly going to be this game
not only that but minor npcs have expressive faces and unique camera angles. compare it to bethesdas dialogues where the whole fricking world stops to zoom into a still talking face.
I think Bethesda’s way of doing things isn’t bad.
But holy cow is this game is full of dialogue.
I’ve got a bard so I’m crushing most of these dialogue checks.
Also pro tip: with a bard you can perform song and it attracts NPCs to come over and watch you. They even drop gold at the end if they like your performance.
If you position your bard right you can basically pull all the NPCs into a corner where they are all facing away from wherever they were.
Then you can get a rogue to come along and pick-pocket them, loot items, and they won’t realize they’re robbed until the bard stops singing.
As long as you move the rogue far away to hide, when the guard comes he’ll have nothing.
Bard + Rogue = OP
Agreed. Most characters get to the fricking point too which helps stop the dialog from getting too exhausting.
The goblin that's "being watched" had one of the best dialogues I've heard in a while. Almost had me on the floor.
Storm Sorc. Flying after every spell is fun and for a sorcerer getting 5 extra spells just like that is insanely nice. You get shit you usually can't like Create Water and Call Lightning to do the double damage meme too.
>objectives
>kill goblin leaders and rescue the druid
>go to the goblin fortress.
>overwhelmed by choices
This shit feels so open-ended. I am on my #4 quick save and I still haven't seen the same thing twice.
>meet up with their leader and use the scroll to revive a Mindflayer and got in a fight
>reload
>luring the priestess to her room and went along with her curing method, got captured, and got rescued by a dwarf(?) chick. (there was an option to escape on my own too).
>reload
>killing the priestess in her room
>found a key that led to Defiled Temple
>solved floor puzzle
>went down some long ass ladder to a mysterious cave
>some red dude name Raphael teleported in to greet you
I haven't reloaded this one yet.
This is fricking crazy.
I am genuinely overwhelmed.
I met Raphael before I ever set foot in the goblin camp. Wild.
I went down into the underground temple expecting it to be a random little dungeon like 8 hours ago and I'm still down there and I don't know what the frick is going on
This is what real exploration looks like, I hope any TotK or Genshin players in this thread take notes.
>dont know anything about dnd
>dont know what skills break game
guess ill just ungabunga with dual weapons
Its 5e, if you can breath properly then you can find a way to break the game
>100% crit barb
>taser web wizard
>everyone is a friend bard
>hyperborea warlock sword
I want total caster death how do I win with 4 martials?
>mfw hitting level 5 in the goblin fort and getting fireball
>Lae'zel's eyeroll when you point out she called tieflings "teeflings".
Why shouldn't I just side with her?
The druids were very rude to me, and this drow is being quite reasonable, and hot.
Can I bang her?
1. She's evil.
2. Yes.
khaga is being maniuplated by the shadow druid illuminati. you need to make the grove great again and free Halsin. I killed that drow b***h along with the other absolutes. Get branded for access to magical gear? No thank you, I will be getting the good ending, and we dont know the artifact will always be there to protect us.
>and we dont know the artifact will always be there to protect us.
I just saw a cutscene wher the Guardian tells you explicitly that she is keeping you from turning. Does Shadowheart's device still say that, too? So is it connected to the Guardian?
You find out at the beginning of act 3.
>Why shouldn't I just side with her?
You will lose two to three companions, block out many possible act 3 quest paths and you won't get her in you party until act 3.
>Can I bang her?
Yes, once after the raid, another after dealing with moon rise tower and after that it's like other companions and it occurs based on how much her approval increases
>block out many possible act 3 quest paths
What the frick? Really? Thank god I didn't pay for this game because evil path really got butchered if that's the case
not really, if you go good you also will be blocked out of many possible quest paths, that's just how it is
Alright. Guess the refugees are gonna get it, really shame I'll miss out on the thiefling though
But does that "work" though? I haven't seen one screenshot with Minthara and Karlach in the same party.
>does it WORK though?
no idea, see
She is there but you can't recruit her in any way. At best you can bum rush act one and case a glitch or make her die for you.
The two paths to Moonrise is the mountain pass near the Gith patrol and the Grymfordge elevator. Both start the Act 2 cutscene.
Why would you ever want to rescue a Lolth aligned b***h? There is zero value in her existence. And in this game you can't convert her to worship of Shar, or how you could with Vicky, to worship of Torm.
Not relevant at all
>What classes are you guys doing?
OoD Pally, my friend is a dragon sorceror.
>Who's in your party?
Shadowheart, his sorc and usually Astarion. We explored the phase spider cave near the blighted village and are having a blast. Progress is very slow due to our schedules not really lining up. I may start a single player playthrough on the side. Maybe as a fighter or OoA Pally.
Rolling a pally but can't decide on final party comp (based on personality).
I think it's going to be shadow, aesterian and gale/karlach. I can't decide yet on the last companion
Wyll might be easier to deal with if you're planning on being lawful good, Aesterian thus far seems to shit and piss his pants if you do anything slightly selfless
He turned into a fricking whiney baby when I decided to destroy the cursed Thay necromancy book. He complains the most out of all the companions I've used. I like his personality sometimes, but he's a power hungry child.
I thought NPCs had some kind of pathing issue since they kept running off randomly during quests. Turned out my spider familiar was causing characters to panic and run. One of these characters was a professional torturer, dressed in spider bondage gear.
>Can we have an actual discussion about this game and not just steam charts shitflinging?
Impossible because of the full blown shill campaign in effect right now. Notice how they never post screenshots and webms of actual gameplay? Notice how it's just the same character creator screenshots and bear sex scene with something along the lines of "THIS GAME MINDBROKE Ganker EPIC STYLE V UTTERLY BTFO"? Shit's definitely not organic, so we're never going to have a decent thread about this game. They're also the ones feigning outrage over this game so they can make the claims I paraphrased.
good job getting baited by people who hate the game dumbass
You know it's true. All the shitposting surrounding this game is designed to lure attention to it.
Attention that is never worth it when it drowns out any actual game discussion.
>Attention that is never worth it
All publicity is good publicity
>drowns out any actual game discussion
Because there is no gameplay and doing so removes any room for criticism on top of that
>no argument
Shill outing himself.
Youre a actual moron.
Prove me wrong.
This game is pissing me off. Why the frick is the save folder on the c drive instead of the drive the games installed on, and why are the save files XBOX HUGE I just had to delete saves because it filled my c drive add
>settings
>max quick/auto saves
>set to 3
Problemo solvedo
You don't understand, I have to make a new save every single time. What if I find a game breaking bug for the first time in my life and I need to go back 10 hours to circumvent it? What if I wiki something and realize I missed a cool big wiener cumming scene 27 hours prior? Did you even think about that? Do you even care? Are you going to tell me I should use consumables next when you know damn well I might need them later?
Do I get to keep Asterion and Shadowhesrt if I recruit the Drow?
>play fighter
>can just hit shit up, can't grapple enemies, throw are restricted to small enemies and the range is piss poor, you can't even shove large enemies
>meanwhile my warlock can instakill enemies with a fricking cantrip by pushing shit to chasm no matter how large the enemies are, no save, only attack roll required which can be buffed by bless, doesn't even give a shit about positioning because lol misty step
Why bother playing martial classes
Weapons are cool.
>you can't even shove large enemies
what yes you can lol i killed the hag by shoving her off a cliff
Did you not reroll your stats?
Unarmed Monk vs Quarterstaff monk; which way should I go anons?
quarterstaff for single target, fists for multi target
Just had to alt f4 the game because I beat the hag and negotiated her to give me a stat buff and the girl in exchange for her life, but the reward screen is bugged and causes a softlock. So now I have to do the fight again and just kill her I guess.
But anyhoo, playing human sorcerer with the gith, vampire, and shar chick in the party. Vampy's ranged sneak attacks are OP as shit.
They need an option to double or triple the speed of enemy animations, they're so fricking slow that when I'm facing 5+ enemies I just alt tab and browse the web for a minute until the enemies done with their turn
>Really liked divinity 2
>Pirated copy takes all night to download
>Load it up
>Genitals option
>eyeroll
I'm so sick of this ESG score shit, Larien used to be so good.
whats the matter with this?
Maybe I don't give a frick about dick size, games like dragon's age had sex but it wasn't a troon simulator where you can have a vegana for a man. I'm so fricking sick of this shit.
its like 5 minutes of work to make them cross compatible so they don't pester you, its meaningless, its not like theres troon characters or anything
You have to tick a box to show nudity moron, go be a victim somewhere else.
nobody cares
what does having a dick size option have to do with diversity
>Larien used to be so good.
doubt.jpg
Do you think Larry Fink gives companies money if they include visible penises in their games?
>Larry Fink
These woke companies do it for free.
Never played saints row?
>get necklace that lets me talk to the dead
>find ambushed caravan
>cool ill be able to get some information from them
>THE CORPSE DOES NOT RESPOND
>need to long rest to reuse it
long rest has to be one of the most annoying mechanics ive ever seen in a game
This is one thing that's really giving me "this is hella fricking gay" feelings. I like the idea of camping, I do, but the way it's implemented in bg3 is not on
someone added a mod to remove the rest for mage hand so im hoping someone makes a mod that removes it all
why did they even make mage hand require a rest, it's supposed to be 5e right? It should just be a normal cantrip
As far as I could tell, putting a bunch of unnecessary busy work was a design goal for this game.
>need to long rest to reuse it
The person using it can recast.
you just do the ritual once per rest and then you can recast it as many times as you want
homie the spell lasts until your next long rest, dummy.
shit mechanic t b h
Would love to talk with you guys as I play but man so many little moments get spoiled the more you stay in these threads.
See you in a year, have fun in the inevitable threads about Starfield steam numbers flopping compared to BG3 because people are playing it on Gamepass
im getting my ass handed to me.
literally just started the game and went in completely blind. dont know nothing about dnd either.
i played DOS2 and the game was an absolute cakewalk on the hardest difficulty and i could eventually solo it.
i started bg3 as a warlock and got the cleric and that wizard in my party.
literally just started the game its after the crash and im in the bandit hideout. killed the first guy and the archer easy enough but the encounter with the 4 guys in the room absolutely kicks my ass. im playing on the medium difficulty.
I just gave up and turned it to low difficulty tbh, too many bullshit "uh oh this random goblin got a lucky roll and instakilled your full health tank!" moments, or enemies that are at a higher altitude and therefore literally untouchable, or whatever.
What bandit hideout are you talking about? The goblins? Or the ruins near the ship?
Yeah I'm playing a sorceror on normal mode and I have already been one shot by the imps on the crashed nautiloid. That's some gay shit.
Go outside, break the hole on the other end of the chapel with the hanging rock
You'll drop in a hole behind the group of 4 and can blow up a fire barrel with Gale that kills 2 of them, then lure them into the room you drop in 1 at a time
After this fight and the next one the map really opens up and you can gear up better in the first "town"
You can just walk over it lol. I just did that tonight
i know about the barrels but i always loose the initiative rolls for the room when im opening it.
then the melee guy throws a firebomb before i can act and it already takes out half hp of my group.
i might reroll a melee class.
Can't you open the door without alerting them? That's what I did and then Shadowheart blew two of them up from stealth via the barrel.
ill try that.
thanks anon.
tried that too now even in stealth they react to the door opening and start the encounter.
idk. I just douse the torch near the door. Position my guys out of the door line of sight and then hit the lever.
also you can go get the homosexual rogue to be your 4th before you go in
do you mean those ruins? theres a red explosive barrel that they stand near so i just blew that up and then the fight was easy. i did reroll from wiz to ranger and have been having more fun in combat though
also if you look around the map you can get the green fighter chick to be more of a melee tank in your caster party before that fight
hope this helps
You need to come up with strategies. I was getting owned hard playing on balanced but then i realized I had to approach fights differently.
The difference between using a strategy and rushing in blindly is the difference between having to reload or beating the fight taking one or two hits.
The thing about this game is that momentum is really important. When a battle is going in your favor you’ll feel like a steamroller
All I care about this game is that Eldritch Blast feels great to use.
I do enjoy how it feels like shooting somebody with a gun
I'll use it randomly to just blow up vases, crates, whatever. It just feels right.
how do you up its damage? I got the buff that adds a charisma bonus to it, is that all you can do? This 1-10 is feeling a lot less appealing now that my rogue can do 17 damage on a normal attack
It gets more bolts as you level. You can also combo it with Hex.
Does anyone else's GPU temps jump all over the place? I have a 3060ti and play at 1440p, 60fps. In the character creation screen (which is also the level up screen) my GPU temp can keep climbing above 75 degrees nonstop but during gameplay might hover around 65 degrees and near 70.
I know that's more than tolerable for my GPU but what concerns me is the fact that just sitting in the character creator and level up screen can make the GPU jump ten degrees and keep climbing. Anybody know why this is?
>just play on medium/high
I don't want to play on medium and the problem persists at high settings. It has to be an issue with the game and not my hardware.
>he downloaded the infected torrent
Hahahaha lmao pay for the game next time moron.
Shut up Black person
trying dlss for better fps under the lower load right now, very good tech
>What classes are you guys doing? Who's in your party?
None, I refunded this slop
what is a short rest?
A quick heal and replenishing of certain spells and actions, accessed in the camp menu above long rest and camp option
I'm legit about to uninstall this trash because this homosexual gail gets permanent necrotic aura if he goes down?????
Bros i really really need some help here, im new to DnD and am currently playing with a friend who's a strategy games veteran, we even beat Divinity 2 on tactician, in this game i made a noble green dragonborn paladin while my friend made a half orc barbarian, the idea was for me to support, heal and tank during battle and persuade during conversations, we recruited Shadowheart and the human sorcerer to our party both of which are played by my friend, the problem is during combat i can't do shit, i have very little movent and initiative and always need to heal or use spells but for that resting in the camp seems mandatory (also have a suspicion lore related stuff happen while we sleep, also havent found any useful weapons or gear for my class in 8h, we barely survived the spider boss fight after struggling like crazy and to be quite honest the experience has been horrible compared to D2, how could i improve or what could i be doing wrong? Any tips or help would be greatly appreciated
in general its just really difficult, but for the movement stuff remember to utilize dashing and jumping.
Also be careful because theres just some ridiculously difficult and overleveled shit around early on, try to use stealth when possible.
There's a reason they show the tooltip for running away the first time you encounter the spider matriarch. That said beating it felt fricking great but I hope to god I don't have to encounter more teleporting spiders in the next 40 hours because jesus christ is it rage inducing.
it's the only one, also you should have stealth for that part...
I am generally magnanimous and I'm playing a monk trying to keep things neutral but I swear the next time that vampire frick initiates conversation with me he gets the stake, everything about the man just screams c**t to me.
the spider matriarch ran away from me and now shes just gone from the world...
good, frick that b***h
but the loot
trying to make an attractive character is so fricking hard
all the faces are disgusting
only half elves are decent looking
>like 5 face options that all look the same
>6 gorillion hair styles that still leave out normal expected styles
I dunno man. Just give me sliders for the face and for the love of frick give me an R. Dorothy bob cut
half of the hair styles are for Black folk
THEY ARENT GONNA PLAY THIS SHIT
>ayyyyo we put dem frizzle nappy shits in durr so yall can be repruhh zented n shiieeeet
There's literally an absurd amount of jogger hairstyles which always look ugly as frick. I get having one or two in case someone wants to make a character named Tyrone watermelon or something but this is excessive.
theres no good long hairstyles for men either unless you want the legolas cut
This is true you can't be an aragorn chad BUT the legolas cut is perfect if you want to make a pharaun mizzrym clone
Try selecting all the different body types, its all defaulted to monkeys.
i found the faces to be fine but the hairs colors suck ass
I really wanted to roll a barbarian because picking up an enemy and throwing them sounds fun. But the rage mechanic looks pretty shit, and also id like to be heavy armor boy if im going to melee
5e barbarian is really bad. It works well when you have rage up but is useless once you run out of rages. You have almost zero build customization and the class progression feels like you are building on features that should be apart of the class by default.
They work rather well as tanks and I enjoyed that aspect of it when I rage when I played a 5e game as them. They aren't made to wear armor. If you want to be a big guy with armor, you should go fighter.
>If you want to be a big guy with armor, you should go fighter.
yeah i probably will, but throwing people sounds so cool
this but me with the frog on the ship in prologue
I love getting kills by shoving people off ledges even if it means I dont get their loot
Although a gobbo boss did manage to shove my guy off of the rafters in the temple all the way into the spider pit. An acceptable loss, because I had wiped the place and got thousands of gold and only cost me 200g to res him
>I love getting kills by shoving people off ledges even if it means I dont get their loot
does random non-named mobs ever have good loot?
why's your character a chink?
Because theres only a single white guy face and he's the same one EVERYONE uses. its not even a good face
>theres only a single white guy face
there's four
Where do I torrent the game to get a download that doesn't need an obscene amount of space? Fitgirl? GOG?
gog version is 107GB, steam cracked is 137GB. fitgirl repack is 60gb download but isnt out yet and we dont know how big it is isntalled.
Yeah, but I need to install the gog version, no? So I need 107 GB free, and then probably the same amount extra to install it. So roughly 214 GB.... Or am I wrong, and gog comes preinstalled?
Otherwise fitgirl might be the way to go.
no you are correct.
buy yourself some storage anon. its going to get only worse.
you can get a 2tb nvme ssd for like 80 bucks or a 4tb hdd for like 40.
>you can get a 2tb nvme ssd for like 80 bucks
Good luck with that, ever.
>Good luck with that, ever.
Not that anon but i literally bought a 2tb sn770 for 70€ 2 months ago. The 1tb ones go for 40€
Ehhh...I should probably get more space, but I rarely play any massive games like this. Guess I'll stick with fitgirl once he updates the torrent.
Karlach snu-snu'ing my halfling rogue
>have to go on a hunt all around town for dead clown body parts
This shit will take forever.
Paladin, I’m going for a dual wield build at least for the early to mid game. If it’s bad in the late game I’ll just edit the save to try a different class.
Will respec most of my companions, I was thinking of sorc, fighter and something else maybe cleric or barb, or another ranged.
No glitches yet, and i pirated the game.
>friend i've known for 13 years wouldn't stop talking about how much he loves to play a rogue in 'Larian Games' prior to BG3 release
>couldn't see the red flag for what it was
>agreed to play with him start to finish both fully unspoiled from launch
>he's savescumming because he's being caught for stealing every 5 minutes

>sometimes he forgets to save and we're sent back 15 minutes or more

>every single entity resembling a puzzle gets googled and solved within seconds
i feel like there's a good game buried beneath my poor choice in companionship but man i am absolutely having a miserable fricking time
frick you matt
>rogue in 'Larian Games'
but thats easy mode.
you stack bleed effects and the enemies basically die by themselves.
i read in a thread earlier than you can just cast fog cloud and steal anything with no penalty, i havent tried it yet but could save you from your tard friend
its how it worked in dos2 and yes it works here aswell
Probably. Everything in fog cloud is blind.
do you like your friend?
OK I see your problem from a mile away; you're the follower and he's the alpha. If you didn't take control a decade ago and make it clear and normal that "I will be hosting the games and YOU will join ME" then you can't really complain because you allowed it to happen. I ALWAYS host. It's the only way to wrangle the morons I know and love and curate the experience so they can enjoy it. My one friend would literally just kill everything he encountered and make all the most moronic choices and die over and over if I didn't take the reins and guide his mongrel ass through games.
I don't know why, but this made me kek hard.
You’re gay and he’s your boyfriend.
The only thing i find retared is that the game doesn't recognize there are more player characters than one. I'm doing a playthrough with 2 friends and the game seems to think we are the same entity. We rarely see eachother in cutscenes and if lets say player 1 hits an npc, thr npc will be mad at all of us instead of just the one eho did the hitting.
I suspect if any other company made this game, it wouldn't have the MP features. Larian likes their multiplayer turn based rpgs, even when they don't really write around it.
Is it Baldur's Gate style 6 member party?
Or Divinity style 4 member party?
4
4
I hate the turn based combat, its way to difficult so i had to turn down difficulty to enjoy the story
Combat is fun you just need to think.
Ambushes are really fricking hard in this game unless you have foreknowledge and find ways to gain height above them. Two fights that were absolutely ball busting for me were the devil in Shar's temple ambush and the first Ketheric fight at the top of the tower. I don't like being put in situations like that. Explorer mode barely feels like it changes anything.
Paladin, Oath of the Ancients. Playing with two friends who's sorcerer and druid. Been swapping party members a bit, but leaning toward Shadowheart for cleric spells.
At first, not having much ranged options thought Id drag the party down, but Smites are completely wrecking monsters
Playing on linux so gotten a couple freezes: If the game suddenly goes to 1 fps too long everyone looses connection. Steam overlay has popped up on some occasions then the gamle closes and steam shuts down. After I took some precautions only bug has been a player stuck in combat without being able to cast anything or end their turn.
>class

Shadowheart (I'm gonna bang her)

Not really any that are of note. The worst I've had is in one scene the camera was in a weird spot for a few seconds and it was culling too much geometry. But it corrected after a second and that was it.
Whatever the skill is that lets you detect hidden traps and levers and shit seems to be very common. My group of dumb fricks seem to spot everything every time, wouldn't mind one of them getting raped by a trap every now and then
is there a way to have interactable highlighting on permanently?
having to press alt every 5 feet kinda sucks.
Do you have crippled gnarled up tree root fingers or something? You can just hold the key down if you have normal functioning hands/brain
almost every crpg has a gameplay option in the menu to have this.
heck make it part of the perception stat. if you have a perception of a certain level everything is just perma highlighted.
just gimme something.
LOL just take one of your wife's nail polish bottles and set it on the alt key. You do have a wife, don't you anon?
you can press ` to highlight characters. Idk about permanent Alt.
Sheart's summon floating weapon spell is wrecking faces for me
>be ranger gay
>looking forward to getting a kewl wolf pet
>simping for shadowheart and trying to make her like me
>right before i level up she tells me shes scared of wolves
shes such a dumb b***h
Yeah I saw that in her character sheet last night. It's kind of cool, but wolves? Is that a fear? Shouldn't everyone avoid wolves?
it fricks her up in combat giving her disadvantage and immobile, ran into it in the zhentarim area in waukeems rest
Yeah it tells you that in her character sheet. Probably worth looking at all the companions to see if they have random debuff passives like that.
What is there to discuss? Game is just a reskinned Divinity Original Sin, with worse combat mechanics. What we really should be discussing is how were going to stop Larry Fink and other israelites from world domination.
How often should I be resting? I feel like I should be using buffs every encounter.
Imagine real life. You would at least take a short rest after every fight. And how many large battles are you getting into in one evening? You would probably take a long rest after every 2 encounters. Seems that's how the game is, too.
I took only 2 long rests before sailing to moonrise towers. get good, nerds, if you had a real parasite you'd be a tentacle eyed frick by now.
>if you had a real parasite you'd be a tentacle eyed frick by now.
...Anyone would be. Which is why you don't have a real one in the game.
If you took more than 2 long rests in act 1 you didnt beat the game
That was the funniest fight I ever did.
I kept getting my ass kicked by the sexy drow, ended up shoving all of them off the cliff with Thunderwave. Fricking lmao.
I love knocking things off cliffs but I always feels bad to lose the loot I could have gotten from their corpses. Luring that fricking lava elemental over until it moved just beyond one I'd preplaced, then detonating it to send it flying forwards past me and over a cliff after like 15 minutes trying to outdamage its regen was pure satisfaction though.
>having lots of fun
>go to Ganker to tell people I'm having lots of fun
>threat filled with shitposters, secondaries expecting this to be an arpg, and /misc/gays
dudes...
I have a place that might be better for you.
You literally must not be from around here if you expected to just share how much fun you are having with like minded people.
occasionally games in niche genres can dodge the shitposting, I guess this is just too popular...
You hit the nail on the head. It's popular. Worse, it has some reddit sensibilities. So you will commonly see people call this game trash, here.
Seething morons eternally buttmad over how successful the game is.
Basically the new hip thing to be contrarian about on Ganker
>feather fall into basin

Seems ridiculous needing to rely on guaranteed damage sources to deal with a damn frog.

Half-elf Shadow Monk because I wanna be a ninja without resorting to Rogue. It's been alright so far, Silence has been a gamechanger in several situations already, especially combined with Sentinel since it keeps people in the Silence bubble if they try to run.
>Who's in your party?
Shadowheart, Astarion and Lae'zel at the moment, but I might swap Astarion for Wyll for Gale.
>Glitches?
I've gotten the "stuck in dialogue mode" glitch several times now, once in combat so I had to save and reset to make it go away. Other than that it's been pretty smooth.
>have Silence on my Paladin
>use it to open fights with NPCs that aren't hostile yet
>additional enemies still show up as if the first NPC called for help
hmm worked for me on the goblin priest
maybe they are seeing you do it?
It worked fine for the goblin priest, that's how I killed her in her room, but I tried doing the same with Auntie Ethel and her mad midget squadron shows up no matter what, plus she still manages to teleport away
did you have an encounter with redcaps in the swamp or did she summon them for the fight?
I had speak with animals on when I spoke to the sheep, and it seemed sus, so I knew it was an illusion and shot it. Fought redcaps out there.
Then I did a firewine and smokepowder barrel on aunty and got her to like 12 hp as the fight started and used the surprise round to melee her
how is Shadow Monk? is it mainly ninja shit or can you larp as a ronin?
Very stealth focused. I'm only level 5 but so far I've mostly gotten spells that help with stealth only. Pass Without Trace and Invisibility has helped get through some areas and Darkness is a panic button if you're surrounded by melee. I heard later levels get a little more interesting in-combat but so far it's been kinda meh.
Hmm, i want to make a wandering ronin type character. Was thinking of multiclassing between Battlemaster and Shadow Monk. I wonder if there's a katana somewhere in the game...
I'm doing two playthroughs.
First one is the evil playthrough where I force all the companions (that didn't get killed off due to me killing them on sight) to be nude and fight. Class is barbarian.
Second is Goody-two-shoes where I'm a paladin.
Both of these I have killed the fricking pale elf for trying to shank me after I told him "I'mma just walk away now".
minor spoilers
>vampire bro wants to suck your blood
>he's been extremely useful picking every lock in the game, so I let him
>game gives option on when to stop him from sucking your blood
>just let him go all out, what's the worst that could happen? I get a little injured? lol
>he fricking kills me
>I literally did a double take when the game loads after the cutscene and my corpse is just lying there
>I didn't know the game could even be progressed with you being dead
this fricking game lmao
>Be new gay
>No idea what actions and checks are or anything
>There's too many utility spells I want to utilize
>Have constant fear that I'm missing out on the good stuff
I keep getting absolutely booty blasted by a bulette. When it spawns, the game goes into turn based mode so I can try to run from it. No matter where I run, or what I do, when it jumps out of the ground it keeps getting it's turn first. I can see the initiative roles. It's not getting any surprise rounds. I've seen it roll a two on initiative, and my party members all roll higher, and no matter what it goes first, fricking pounces, knocks someone prone, and proceeds to bite them to death. Why the frick does it get like two free turns, every time? Frick the underdark.
Hes fricking bugged I swear he queues up 2 actions in non turnbased mode
It's unbalanced for sure. I think the game is tracking it and the underground version as two different entities. So it jumps, does a bite, and then is finally considered "spawned" by the game and follows initiative. The spectator wasn't nearly as bad, at least that fricker follows the game rules.
Where to get this shit for free
Meatspin.com
Killed by the loss of flash
I'm want to like the homosexual elf, but he's just too fricking gay. First, the fricker comes on to me then gets mad when I'm like you're a gay. Then the VERY NEXT NIGHT he's trying to suck my blood.
>Can we have an actual discussion about this game
no, its for literal morons. go on reddit if you want to discuss "games" like this
Which class do I go if I want to blow shit the frick up
Wizard or Sorcerer with fireball.
Warlock/sorcerer multiclass. Take the pushing Eldritch blast and take all the AoE spells you can. And Fireball. Don't forget fireball. Your playstyle is dropping the stroingest AoE spell you have, then using eldritch blast to push enemies who escape back into it, and if they are all in it you fireball the whole group.
Evocation mage I think
Barrelmancer. Class: Any
Take every firewine, oil, smokepowder barrel you find. Right click, send to camp.
You can throw alchemists fire or cast firebolt
Hard encounter? Set up barrels first, toss at enemy, win.
Thanks
I do miss Chestomancy but it's probably for the best they didn't do that again.
Downloading right now. Can’t wait to build a male human fighter.

I’m really enjoying act 1 about 10 hours in and still fricking around in the Underdark but my question is any word on how the other acts are content wise or is this another DSO2 situation
Act 2 is similar to act 1. Act 3 seems pretty large from what I've seen so far.
Reposting to maybe get a reply.
Anyone else got the bug where you can't long rest? My character is just frozen and won't move. I just defeated the second room of goblins in the goblin camp and then found I couldn't long rest. I tried moving to another location but it was still bugged. Short rest works. I'm on the gog-games.to version.
lawl. bugcels always failing
anyone else find the game is VERY bias against rolling 20s for combat rolls? I rarely see them from the enemy or myself, but mostly the enemy but they get way more attacks so thats to be expected.
I dont have karmic dice on and Ill attack a chest and NEVER roll a 20. Ill get tons of 1s though and a few 19s but never 20
>Divinity OS players for complain about inventory management for 10 years
>BG3 EA players complain about inventory management for 5 years
>Game comes out with shitty inventory management
What did Larian mean by this? And I already had a game breaking bug where after a fight, the silenced status just stayed on me and I couldn't talk to anyone no matter what. Lost about an hour of progress...
do we get a big city in act 2? i always liked the cities in divinity 1 and 2.
You get a tower.
act 3 is the city. Act two is cursed woods
no, this product is meant to increase streamers revenues through it's stream-app EPIC MEMEIFIC interface. It's all about the money.

Duergar Rogue/Fighter Charlatan
Role playing as a Duergar seems like I shouldn't really have any of these people in my party, maybe only shortly to deal with the maggot in my head.
Anybody else disappointed by the lack of roleplaying options? They have shitty short beards for dwarves and it sounds like its only one english guy for a voice doing different ranges(no dwarven scottish accent, or different voices in general). I'm probably gonna brick my playthrough because my guy doesn't fit with anyone to party with.
>heavy armor just increases your dodge chance
am I understanding this incorrectly? surely 5e isn't THIS moronic
5e is braindead. theres no touch ac or flat-footedness
armor class isn't dodge chance moronbro, high AC can be either because it's extremely evasive, tough like a dragon's hide, hard to cause damage to etc
>causing enemies to miss is not dodging
uh huh sure thing
It'd be cool if a crpg would actually animate an attack "missing" a high AC heavy armor or shield character to have a "deflect" or "block" animation instead of the typical dodge.
Light armor + shield could alternate between blocking and dodging.
Riposte style characters could parry and counter.
I guess that would add a lot of budget for just fluff but it would be cool I reckon.
AC has always worked like that since Oe
is necromancer good/fun? i have not seen any gameplay of it
necrotic spells do good damage I guess. spreading damage out among targets that dont need to be healed is always useful too. fun sure dunno about good
is there actual summons like skeletons and shit, thats kinda all i want
I honestly think I'm just really bad at this game. I played through dos2 fine, that game is hard, but I understood it pretty well. Every other encounter in this is just a fricking slog. I fricking love whiffing on one of my three level two spells. I love healing someone for like three hp with a potion. I get that dnd is inherently supposed to have a ton of randomness, but I have a hard time doing anything at all quickly. My most used ability is save/load, at least that one always works.
WHY on Black person hell isn't this available for the PS4? It's a fricking rpg it can't be that complicated.
Now I can't join the latest vidya discussion
Game tends to lock up in tab menu but alt tabbing fixes it.
Playin a wizard with shadowheart karlach and lizzy.
Shadowhearts gonna do the spirit guardians meme, karlach is gonna be a barbarogue to shove people out of and back into spirit guardians while also beating their asses with reckless sneak attacks, lizzy is there for generic being a brick plus fighter nova. I should probably swap her for minthara at some point to get aura of protection since shadowhearts concentration is too important.
The wizard is also bait because it's abjurer and I intend to grab armor of agathys from a sorc dip.
I think this sort of brick comp with forced movement abuse is better than conventional tabletop strategy because tactician targets your backline so frequently, and you don't really need massive damage, just reliable damage and control.
People complaining the game is boring are supposed to be playing on tactician and using their brain.
Im in the Kresh now. Game is getting better and better. Decisions feel meaningful.
illithid powers are so useless. a base DC of 8 to resist is fricking HORRIBLE
Is polearm master's bonus attack bugged? I tried using warlock's conjured glaive and the early magic spear which should count as polearms but I dont see the bonus attack action in the combat log or in the bonus action tab
does it have reach? if not then its not a polearm
yea the glaive does have reach and doesnt seem to work with it
the tooltip specifically says "When attacking with a glaive, halberd, quarterstaff, or spear, you can use a Bonus Action to attack with the butt of your weapon."

Are you able to recruit minthara now without having to kill the tieflings?
In my quest to be the biggest goodie two-shoes ever I'm wandering around the tiefling camp and doing good and making smiles wherever I can. The door to the storage room magically opened on its own because I am a Paladin I didn't have my party member lockpick it that would break my oath.
Anyway, I used Lay on Hands: Cure on the b***h in the storage room who's paralyzed and it didn't do shit. The frick?
Also jesus frick I love playing a Paladin in these sorts games. You get to be such a good-guy dweeb, and the NPCs are so grateful it's awesome.
>Also jesus frick I love playing a Paladin in these sorts games. You get to be such a good-guy dweeb, and the NPCs are so grateful it's awesome.
It is extremely based how despite Kagha being a huge c**t, she still deferred to my moral authority just because I'm a Big Dick Paladin.
Still wish you could choose a deity like clerics do at the start even if it was just optional. There's a mod for it apparently but I don't know if I really want to get into that for my first playthrough even if I really wanted my Dragonborn Paladin of Bahamut.
>Dragonborn Paladin of Bahamut
MY BROTHER! WE WILL SMITE THE UNHOLY SPAWN OF TIAMAT FROM OUR LANDS! CLEANSE THE LAND OF THE WICKED CHILDREN OF THE WICKED DRAGON MISTRESS, FOR THE GLORY OF THE PLATINUM DRAGON!
I got so fricking giddy when they let me be a metallic Dragonborn. Frick yes.
My brother. I'm usually more of a lawgay/justicegay that believes in clemency and mercy for the repentant, but still, I have a hard time playing anything but a paladin in such games.
Only glitches I had is my character moving with no walk or run animation sometimes. Got stuck in a corner for 5-10 seconds before moving out of it.
Surprised considering I am on a toaster. Old i5, 970, 8gb
I'd have to get rid of rdr2 to download this, would you say it's worth it?
>deleting one movie game for another movie game
gee, i dunno.
Genuine question, do you get dopamine hits from writing "movie game" on a italian pizzamaking forum?
>do you get dopamine hits from speaking the truth?
yes.
depends if youve finished rdr2 before i guess. im no shill but this game has been fun so far, even so it has some very cancerous parts
I didn't and it's my third attempt. Guess I'll just wait untill I'm done with it
is there crafting like in the divinity games and is there something compareable to the lore master
this game triggers my autism really hard and I have to collect all the fricking garbage on the map and I dont know what to sell because some stuff like mortar/pestle, sheep shears, hammer, magnifying glass etc. are all items that could be used in some way in divinity but I havent seen anything here yet besides the shovel to dig up treasures
As someone who is trying to go into it blind. I think I will enjoy it. As long as I smoke a shit ton of weed and just let it happen. Am I gay for assuming I'm going to like the company of that white haired guy with the smirk? I want to just frick shit up with him
He's a bit of a gay but I like him.
Interesting. Does he stay with me the entire time despite my decisions? I would enjoy RP'ing as his partner in selfishness and corruption. Is he a rogue type? I want to play a class that syncs up with him. Extorting people did become my side passion when I replayed games that had that option. I do like how he's charming. That's really intriguing.
Sounds like it would be difficult to romance anyone if you're best friends with him
People leave when they get too dissatisfied with you. There is relationship meter in the party menu you can see that shows their satisfaction. Once it gets low enough they just ditch you. You can do heroic acts, but you may want to detach him from the party and move him away a bit so he doesn't hear your conversations.
Oh cool, that's really good to know. That's really awesome you can move him away from the conversation. I don't care if this game isn't hardcore. I saw a 1 minute video and was impressed by the narration, and how your party members all are vocal and have their own opinions(and facial expressions!?) on how you tackle an encounter. That was enough for me to find some enjoyment. I used to think I was above voice acting, but damn does it add to game.
Sorry if I sound like I'm shilling. I'm just really drunk and have been only playing roguelikes, 2d platformers, and 1st/3rd person shooters for the past 3 years. I need something I can immerse myself in
Go to >>>/vg/ if you want to discuss the game bro. Ganker is unusable when it comes to talking about this game
Damn, good point. I'll go discuss it there before I buy it. I was kinda crossing my fingers I would find a weirdo like me who still tries to discuss games on Ganker. I guess I'm super stubborn
he's kinda a bit evil
He's charming, and perfectly willing to frick shit up, but is profoundly selfish. He'll complain a lot if you decide to do side quest that aren't purely for power/profit. So, unless you want to extort every person you see, enjoy his disapproval. He desperately wants power and is probably the most vocal companion about wanting to use his illithid powers. Probably has some tragic backstory about how he was a slave to his vampire master or something, but I haven't gotten that far.
I saw a bit of his backstory in Act 1 so I can tell you a bit, but I'll spoiler tag it in case you don't want spoilers.

His master carved a ritual contract on his back to make a deal with Mephistopheles about knowledge on an ancient ritual spell. The ritual spell consumes all of his vampire spawns to become some kind of super vampire that can go out in sunlight and a whole lot of other shit. It's the reason why Astarion is still being hunted by his master since he is the key of the ritual.
oh that's crazy i had a similar plot in one of my campaigns but without a gay vampire spawn. i guess they also really liked the plot of Dawnguard.
you finish one cutscene, take two steps and another you're in another cutscenes. I'm feeling overwhelmed and skipping dialogue more than I want because there's so much text to keep track of between short bursts of actual combat
For me it's Clownheart
>free the goblin girl
>cant add her as a party member
why doesnt the game let me collect goblin girl onaholes i am uninstalling
I've never played a CRPG in my life nor do I know anything about DND. How fricked is my first build?
thats a man
Eldritch blast is good, blade ward is not. Get something else instead that doesn't need your action in a fight.
You need the hex spell. Other spell doesn't matter as much but I like hellish rebuke or armor of agathys. Basically something that doesn't need concentration or require a standard action.
Something to think about are your ability score increases / feats.
You'll get one at warlock levels 4, 8, and 12.
Starting 16 charisma means you only need to expend 2 on charisma boosts to hit the maximum of 20, which you should do because it improves all your spells.
Then you have one boost over to gain a feat like warcaster or resilient.
Starting at 15 means you need to expend an additional increase, so you'll likely have to take the performer feat and will need to wait until level 12 to max out charisma.
Odd numbered scores are also no more effective than an even score of 1 lower; 15=14, 13=12, etc.
See pic for what I would do.
It's not mad, scimitars are finesse weapons. dex/wis 16 start, take warcaster at 4 and raise wis to 20 by 12.
Maybe gotta skimp on con. Thanks anon
I feel like the game adopting D&D mechanics adds nothing to it. The game would be better if they just built upon OS2 mechanics (namely revamped the dumbass armor system) and ignored all the gay dice rolling, resting and whatnot
This game's lack of any fricking QoL functionality is quite extraordinary. The fact in order to transfer items between companions inside the camp you have to manually change the party is extraordinary. Hell, the fact that you have to start two dialogs every time you want to change one party member is insane.
I think at this point Larian purposefully makes their inventory systems as clunky as possible just to spite people
>cant shift/ctrl click to make item transfers easier
>sort button will always ask if you want to auto sort by price, weight or type
>have to manually send camp supplies 1 by 1
>no prompt choose if you just want to examine an owned item
I was asked about a "guardian" at the beginning of the game, when do i meet it?
you see him/her in dreams starting a few hours in
I fought a big blue spider and then fell on a hole to a mushroom world, been struggling because everything is level 4-5 and i was level 3, still managed to go all the way to slap some duegar faces and havent seen anything about the guardian, what am i doing wrong?
you should have seen it at that level but you probably haven't done some things. im going to guess you need to find a tadpole (i cant remember what triggered i). have you done gobling camp yet?
i dont know, but i made my guardian hot in case that happens.
I havent done goblin camp but i DO have a tadpole, havent used it tho.
are the guardian scenes still romantic in nature? i want to replay my dwarf with the incredibly hot female dwarf with a huge beard because every time it got spicey i started dying of laughter.
I haven't seen any seething though from people who didn't know and thought they'd have a bro guardian.
>start combat by shooting an arrow at someones back
>critical miss
its getting very fricking tiring bros..
>I played a game based on a dice game
>why are there dice game features???
i just finished the game earlier by nuking the baldurs gate 3 what the frick
>that feel when there arr at least 7 different ways to nuke Sword coast
Stealing the super gunpowder from the gnome and using the whole barrel on the cave in was the funniest Game Over I got in awhile.
FIX THE SHORTSTACKS LARIAN
Fix your brain, pedophile.
Heres something i want to do: scimitar based druid. The animations are sick and spore druid is awsome.
However idk how to make it work. Its MAD and buildgays wont touch it cause its suboptiimal.
I just want a swamp guy with a CURVED SWORD not wielding a broom like a spear cause some redditor told me to.
Any 5e gays got any advice?
Im used to beeing able to make any build work at least a bit from 3.5/4e it cant be impossible
STOP SAVESCUMMING
>game looks like shit without taa, clearly made with this antialiasing in mind
>turning it on turns everything into an unrecognisable blurry mess
>ramping up the resolution barely helps, thanks to even 1440p cutting FPS in half
>the only available FSR option is obsolete 1.0, which doesn't help at all
It's so over
Should I take the bardpill bros? Distracting people with your music sounds dope but I heard people say it's shit in actual combat.
they do have more out of combat shit than other classes but they're not bad in combat. good support class.
Yeah i know...sorry heh but im not gonna do it...yeah im not gonna play your nasty ass foul as frick gross troony game...yes i know i know youre gonna call me an incel...
But the truth is normal healthy men find homosexuals literally sickening and heres the proof
https://www.psypost.org/2017/06/straight-mens-physiological-stress-response-seeing-two-men-kissing-seeing-maggots-49217
Yes yes youre gonna say 'chud' because you have zero creativity with petty insults but yeah im just not gonna do it...im not gonna play your gross nauseating homosexual game.
And yes im sure this means i should 'touch grass' but im also gonna avoid any and all content related to this disgusting shit.
Seek immediate mental medical attention.
Stop posting and go to the nearest psych ward and check yourself in.
Only major bug I've seen so far is having two dates with Shadowheart after the party, which I'm not complaining about
>Only major bug I've seen so far is having two dates with Shadowheart after the party, which I'm not complaining about
Was mine bugged? I dated her before the party, and at the party she just made a comment about the wine and that was it. I fantasized at night about her and nothing happened.
sounds like.
From the look of it, you can normally go on a date at the party, but if you don't complete the grove quest she'll seek you out during a long rest.
Maybe I stole your date, sorry bro.
are the enchanted items sold by the merchants randomized or preset?
i wanna restart but im really liking these boots that boost my jump distance
please respond
those boots are the rarest item in the game dude...you can sell them to someone via multiplayer for thousands of usd
So far, I don't like the game.
The game is complex as usual CRPG does, there's simply too much on the screen for me to make sense, and the tutorial pop ups are not doing much to help with it.
The characters animation are weird as frick, I would rather them to not have closeup at all so at least I can imagine their facial expressions myself.
Since I'm completely new to DnD, all those names & terms or race/faction shits are all unknown to me.
Right after the prologue, I'm immediately introduced by 3 characters to join my party, what the frick?
Is raiding the grove worth it for drussy?
>Lose 3 companions, gain 1
>Lose thieflings
I already killed the bear and I'm playing evil so I'm kinda locked in here but still
Yes.
but you can also get her as a companion, without losing anyone but Halsin, if you just ignore the grove and go straight to moonrise
Is this true? Like if you just ignore the grove then nothing changes?
God damn really? Any confirmation?
The TL;DR is that she couldn't find the grove (Though you may have to rescue the prisoner so he doesn't squeal) so she's on the cult's shit list for fricking up.
If you convince Kahga to stop the ritual, you can basically get the good end without having to sacrifice anything but Halsin and some exp
I looked into that and found a reddit post also saying you can't talk to her at the camp or romance her
Isn't it just a bug at that point?
You can convince Kahga to frick off? How?
out her as a shadow druid then persuade her to join you when the fight happens
>locked into using a gay vampire, fetal alcohol syndrome not-orc and a b***hy generic drow zealot
evil route seems like it kinda blows ass for companion variety
>Lose 3 companions, gain 1
what, you only lose the druid?
You lose Wyll the token black dude, Halsin the druid and the thielfing barbarian
>the thielfing barbarian
why would she care
She does because refugees are thieflings. It's pretty moronic since she's not at the grove when recruited but you lose her as well
because the drow will kill all the tieflings there
Because she's chaotic good
It does feel like the game could have had another evil companion. I don't know if there's another one in later acts, but a half-orc would have been neat (and honestly it'd be nice to have them not subvert expectations by having an orc-blooded character be a goodie goodie).
I really don't know what to do :
I'd like to have both Minthara and Karlach in my party, but it seems like they are mutually exclusive
interacting with the gods in this game honestly just makes me want to go for evil dude route where i can "ascend" and nuke the frick out of everyone.
that frog queen b***h has go to be one the most annoying c**ts as of yet. wish i could immediately just kill her but she's apparently a god so i have to show "courtesy" to her.
what the hell are you talking about anon
just push her off a cliff
im talking about this b***h
?t=248
>my boars charge has a *chance* to knock enemies into prone
>used it like 20 times and its never happened
>get critical misses every fight though
the game was rigged from the start bros..
is it possible to frick tall human and drow women as a manlet (dwarf/halfling or gnome), this is very important and must be answered for scientific purposes.
Yes. and I'm pretty sure you can frick a squid as a squid yourself at some point./spoiler]
i'll make the shortest gnome and try to frick tall minthara.
Honestly half the problems I'm facing is figuring out who I want in my party. Gale, wyll and shadowheart are the most likely to approve and get inspired by my actions and I could actually see a party of Ranger beastmaster + those 3 as being good but I fell like I kinda want a dedicated frontliner with gale despite wizards being strong being the one I'm thinking gets cut. I think that leaves my moralgay ass with either lae'zel(abrasive but good bants with shadowheart, kinda idiot proof class), Karlach(Interesting personal plot, somehow less likely to get inspired/approve of my actions than lae'zel, no idea how to build a barb but rage is cool), or my most recent unlock Halsin,
I want to RP as Grimm. Is there a spellsword build that doesn't suck ass or do I have to wait until Bladesong is modded in? I was considering:
>eldritch knight + wizard
>Black personman warlock with pact of the blade + fighter/paladin
And how important is the race? Can I play human just fine if I'm planning to play on tactician or do I have to resort to mods by giving myself, e.g. Githyaki characteristics if I want to keep up?
1. There is
2. Race means absolutely nothing outside of some quirk, play human all you want
3. Tactician is quite hard so if you hate dnde5 combat consider going medium or even easy
>1. There is
Alright, but which one? Eldritch knight + wizard, warlock + fighter, or are both viable?
>3. Tactician is quite hard so if you hate dnde5 combat consider going medium or even easy
I got through both OS games on the highest difficulty and through Underrail on hard. I'll be fine. Probably.
eldritch knight + wizard can be fun but your job is mostly flying around the map casting buff on yourself, warlock + paladin is insanely fun and strong as shit IMO, but you can try both class if you want since they will give you a frog gith who can go into eldritch knight and wyll to try out both combo
So, is this just Divinity 3?
Kind of. But more serious and less wacky quirky humor. And uses dnd rules, some people seem to like it but I think the combat seems shit compared to d:os2.
Wait, the combat's worse? How the hell did that happen?
DND rules. typically you only have 50-60% hit rate. enemies as well. it unnecessarily makes battles way longer
In DoS2 the average hit chance was 95%
In DnD it's 65%
You can fix this if you know what you are doing though
because everything is dnd rules and the spells and abilities just aren't nearly as interesting as the ones in divinity
How could they have made combat less interesting than divinity? Are they moronic?
you cant really make it much different when it's just 5e slop
Has there been an explanation for why Jaheira is low level? Would have to be at least 17 or so to fight irenicus
I want to do a spear druid but is it objectively a bad idea to not be using Shillelagh?
Here's my first impression after playing the game for 10 hours yesterday:
- combat is fun and gives you many options and strategies. coming out alive of a difficult fight feels rewarding, but the low hit rates are dumb and I Don't think the decision to make it literally DND combat was a good one. just raise the hit rates of both enemies and the player so combat isn't as slow
- writing is alright. it provides enough food for roleplaying and characters speak naturally and with distinct personalities. doesn't blow me away like Planescape torment or Witcher 3, but significantly better than AAA video games
- companions are mostly fun and interesting,it's surprising how they can be so loveable despite so fricked up. karlach especially is insanely cute and they nailed the concept of "gap moe" with her perfectly
- game looks pretty and the amount of facial expressions go a long way to make things feel immersive
- I hate how everyone is pansexual and I think even people who really want gay people in video games are gonna feel that this was a bad decision. it takes away from the personality of the characters. Gale should be a straight womanizer. Astarion should be 100% evil vampire homo. does anyone even disagree with this?
- the game feels janky and buggy and my PC is barely keeping up
Overall, great game, but flawed and as a huge JRPG gay, it's not convincing me that CRPGs are this highly intellectual god tier genre that is eons above JRPGs. they're both fun genres with strengths and weaknesses.
>I hate how everyone is pansexual
Imagine the screeching on Ganker if they would made Karlach or Shadowheart lesbian
>I hate how everyone is pansexual
To be fair, they are all hardcore (You)sexual because Larian overcorrected, used to be a bit harder for you
>- I hate how everyone is pansexual and I think even people who really want gay people in video games are gonna feel that this was a bad decision. it takes away from the personality of the characters. Gale should be a straight womanizer. Astarion should be 100% evil vampire homo. does anyone even disagree with this?
Nah, I should be able to frick who I want, it's a video game powerfantasy
The alternative is that every woman is a lesbian because "LOOK AT US WE MADE PEOPLE GAY ARENT WE SO PROGRESSIVE", that can frick right off
ANYONE
Is there a way to complete Mayrina's quest without using the wand?
or do I just have to let it sit there
i think you can snap it in half after telling her about it
If you wanna be a good guy you basically have to leave that quest incomplete, afaik
>do the torturing ritual in the goblin fort
>"shadowheart is inspired"
Kinky b***h.
Is the buff from it permanent?
Has anyone here by any chance managed to find Arabella's parents in the Shadow-Cursed Lands?
how fricking long do i have to wait to get out of my STARTER ARMOR?? I LOOK LIKE A homosexual
immediately, you can just hide the armor and be in your casual clothes or just find the simple robe near the crash site
>Netflix: The Game
I'm having a fricking blast. I made it down to some dark dwarves and there's a forge and shit. the dwarves + memory leak thing brings me back to dragon age origins.
I'm pretty sure I'm supposed to be on the surface going to the creche though. what exactly triggers "act 2" ?
How loose can you get in this game? I wanna frick my way though quests whenever possible.
Can I start with this one?
yes, plot knowledge of 1 and 2 is barely relevant for side shit
How much does it matter for the main story?
nothing
Oh cool, thanks
my dudes which is a party that s up to a evil tadpole run? astarion and minthara are up to it i guess, but who s up to genocide thieflings and some worms? doubt lae zel will be fine with me popping 10 of those things
About to get some orc pussy
Please look at my beautiful hot big sister girlfriend bodyguard wife
I just wish she stopped swearing. I hate it when women swear unironically
She's so cute bros, how did they pull it off
You are going to have a bad time in act 3 mate. She has several scenes where "frick" is the adjective of the day with her.
>want to play evil since it seems more fun
>lose the only good companion in the process
I'm torn
Where my Dark Urge slayerbros at?
i dunno anything about the gameplay besides "turn based" what are some other turn based games to compare?? I've played original sin 1 a little bit
it's literally the same as DOS2 just less annoying
the gameplay is a lot like divinity, except significantly less cool/fun/strategic. however the upside is the world/story/characters/etc are all ten thousand times better than the divinity series. do with that what you will.
Can you turn into innocuous animals as a Druid to "hide in plain sight" or does being seen in any form blow your cover if it's something that would normally attack you?
You can infiltrate certain areas as a cat/bird and people won't know it is you, not sure if it works on something inherently hostile like a gnoll.
Tiefling horn color fix when?
When you leave for Moonrise Tower or whatever it’s called, is that the end of act 1? Did the early access go that far?
yes that's the end of act 1, when/where does this happen? I have been going down, down, down for the last 8 hours.
Yes, EA was Act 1. when you leave for the tower you are entering act 2. We know Act two has about 30 hours if you do everything possible in it and is about 10 hours if you rush it however short of cheating or doing everything in act 1 you won't have the levels or items to handle act 2 rushing it that fast. People are still squaring how much time is in act 3 but it's a least 15 hours rushed 30 hours doing everything.
>12 gb ram
>1030 Nvidia card
Should I even bother getting this?
>astarion uses fire arrows
>throw oil barrels into them
>every single enemy explodes
Frick you and your AC, Black folk.
I am a drow and I want to be evil and side with the drow lady instead of helping the homosexual druids, but I also want to eat the delicious tadpole inside her head. I have never felt so conflicted about a choice in an rpg.
there's plenty of tadpoles to eat besides your wife's. pls do not be greedy.
you get it as a quest reward. In fact they give you as many as you spare.
Example you keep all three leaders alive at the Goblin Base you get two for clearing the grove. However say you kill Gut and take her worm and then clear the grove, that game only give you one. You get one if you convince Mith to dise with you however if you kill her for trying to kill you, you won't get one.
You can convince Gale not to leave but Kar ande Wyll can't be convinced to stay.
Which battlemaster stuff should I grab for Lae'zel?
Pushing Attack if you plan to cheese some fights and send enemies to their death, even works on things as large as Ogres.
FRICK
I hate to lose 3 companions but as a drow I have to RP a drow
Any1 downside in getting those worm powers?
how to boycott the game:
>download a pirated vesion with a steam fix
>launch steam
>launch game
>join sessions of your steam friends (they are public by default, even in multiplayer)
>create ugliest motherfricker with bard subclass
>leave
>they are stuck with this character in their party. FOREVER.
>If you do it three times, they'll be stuck with entire cast of useless uggos in their party. Again, forever.
>if they try to complain tell them they should be ashamed to play such a woke shit game
how does it work: larian fricked up coop completely, it's not a "drop in, drop out" coop you would expect from any modern game. No, Larian designed "create coop party and finish the game with them or frick off" type of mechanic. When you join player's session, you essentially kick any existing non-player character into camp FORCIBLY, and have to create YOUR OWN. You don't control origin character like you do in divinity. When you leave someone else's session, host will be stuck with your character with NO option to remove them from a party. If there are 4 player characters in a game, you'll be stuck with them in your party, FOREVER, because they are bound not to your save file, but to entire CAMPAIGN. You can't progress certain companions because some quests require said companions to be in your party, which is now physically impossible. You have to start NEW campaign if you wish to get rid of these characters. Larian are currently ignoring all complaints about that bug and claim it's a "feature".
worth noting same can be done with any game that is visible in multiplayer browser
>troony obsessed freak is a bad friend
many such cases
it's your fault you can't refuse to play a troony game to win a culture war
>Dragonborn sorcerers arent proficient in any of the 3 armors
Uh, is there anything smart I should do to make myself proficient in at least 1 kind of armor armor? Will a multiclass do it? If so, which one should I pick?
My character is naked all the time and while I dont super mind, I would like to be able to wear armor.
You can still wear clothes/robes so long as they aren't tagged as light/medium/heavy armor
You can pick up a feat to make you proficient with any of them
>your love interests just fricking part with you at the end of the game so they can follow their own interests
there's absolutely no point in romancing anyone since none of them stick with you long term. lol
I'm not sure about the others but
Lae'zel will stay with you if you convince her to break from her people and worship you
>spoiler
wtf you can get someone to be addicted to your wiener?
There are a few of conversations with her where you have to pass speech checks about eating the other tadpoles, I cleared 4 of them and that's when shit got weird.
i've made a sorcerer, and my party is: Gale, Wyll and Shadowheart, but im seriously lacking someone who could do physical damage and tank a little bit of damage
Gwyll's "Bind Pact Weapon" seems to be really cool ability, but it's pretty useless since his ability to hit enemies is very low, and im considering respecing a little bit to add some strenght - btw why does he have only 8 starting strenght? isn't it weird? i thought he was supposed to be some kind of melee magefighter kind of guy
i didn't want to get Karlach or frog-woman on my party so i killed them, but it seems like the two of them were the only good melee characters i could get on my party and i don't know if i should respec my main character to be paladin or some other shit
im not in2 dnd or bg at all, and im scratching my head a lot when playing this game trying to understand its mechanics and how things are supposed to work
go with paladin sorc multiclass
He's a dex fighter, use finesse weapons so he can add his dex to the attack roll, not strength
>but im seriously lacking someone who could do physical damage and tank a little bit of damage
Make someone a transformation Druid. Theyre like 3 characters in one, when their tfs run out they just revert back, and some of the later transformations you get have tons of hp. And they can attack multiple times.
respecing origin character into whole different class doesn't seem right to me.. it's just weird
maybe i'll respect my own character into that and see
>main character is an idiot
>black guy is charismatic as frick
>now forced to play as the black guy because he's much better at talking to people
My main character has this goofy-ass smile in every cutscene, fricking why?
Not being a 8 int, 8 cha Fighter that solves everything with violence
should i tell the subhuman Black personhomosexual vampire to leave forever? i don't like him
you can literally stake'd him, keep him around if you want to kill his ass
so we making orcs look like homosexuals now?
what a great game
to be fair he is a french orc
>create the most evil looking orc barbarian i can
>realize all the male voices are made by gay british trannies
7 is the only voice i use now, it has some gruff in it
Same VA as Halsin
Honestly, it feels wrong to see orcs sporting normal human hairstyle, or hair at all to begin with.
shouldn't've been 5e. simple as
also the dialogue is tumblrtier
>fight an infuriating boss fight where everything keeps missing no matter how hard i try to plan each turn
>finally win
>poison everywhere on the ground
>party members fall over dead
>try to res them
>dies as soon as they res because of the poison
>my rage is building
>forced into dialogue by the mage
>the most quirky homosexual reddit dialogue i've ever seen and cant end
>try to end it
>he just wont shut the frick up
i was about to throw my computer through the window at this point.
can you romance multiple people
if not what is the lock out point
Frick them all? Sure. Have a Harem? Four are down with that Astrion, Lae'zel, Minthra, and Halsin.
isn't karlach fine with you fricking others? cause you know, she can't have sex with you without straight up killing you
You can't actually romancer her until she gets her condition fixed, after it is fixed she can get very possessive to the point she will attack you if you cheat on her.
>mfw no yandare tiefling mommy
FRICK THIS CRUEL WORLD
we're reaching best girl levels not previously thought possible
that's assume you fail the persuasion check.
so if i kissed shadowheart am i stuck in her romance route or can i still romance karlach later
i just want a quick frick not anything serious with sh
Shadowheart responds by sleeping with someone else if you don't official break it off with her. You can sleep with all of them and just break it off after the sexing. Astrion, and Lae'zel have some dialog if you actually sleep with the whole camp.
>Shadowheart responds by sleeping with someone else if you don't official break it off with her
of course shartheart is those types of women
She agrees to a duel with Lae'zel only to then try and slit her throat while they sleep as a means to avoid fighting her.
She is that kind of b***h.
That's not being a b***h, that's being smart. She's a cleric, she'd get mogged in a straight up fight against a fighter at level below 8
>fight me!
>yeah I'll fight you
>j/k Imma kill you now in your sleep 🙂
>muh honourable fight
And that's why you never got anywhere in life.
Who said anything about honorable? She could have told frog girl to frick off when you and the other back her up about not fighting. I think she is just a full blown racist to Gith.
That will also trigger a similar knifing if you romance her(shadowheart), break it off with her and then frick the frog. Shadow girl has issues it seems.
1) the fact this can happen at any level makes that point moot and I'm not sure the fight would go that bad even at low level
2) She agrees to it, you are right there and if you try to stop the fight she goes something to the effect of "No it's fine, I can't wait to bash your head it" I don't have a lot of pity for dick moves like that.
HOW THE FRICK do you tell is a weapon in your equipment is a simple weapon or martial weapon
do i seriously have to google everything?
Go into character screen and select "detailed view" tab on the left side, there should be proficiencies listed that your character has. Mouseover them to see the lists of weapons.
I'm assuming this is a bug, but I think my Shadowheart has tourettes, after resting or teleporting she always says OPEN THIS CAGE YOU MUNTING ARSEHOLE
At what point does Halsin become a playable companion? He joined my camp but I can't take him along and I wanna test a druid.
Early Act 2, specifically there's a quest with an unconscious singing man and you have to complete that "chain"
Thanks! Bit confusing he doesn't tag along straight off the bat.
Yeah, this confused me too because I could use a character with high nature checks and that can transform into small things to explore burrows and holes in act one. It would have been good to have had him since the very beginning if you destroy the goblins early.
So I picked necromancy school, when and how do I get to summon undead minions?
level 3 or 4 iirc
Thanks! I was worried all the necromancer spells were just debuffs.
Unless they've changed it for the game, level 5 is when you first get access to the Animate Dead spell
>first real branch in act 1
> find the thieflings kids dead
> find Lihala, the one who plays the beautiful music dead, with her lute
I don't feel so good. I often enjoy playing evil but this is going too far
Most games where you can do "evil" things don't actually let you witness the consequences of your actions. It drains a lot of the fun out of playing "evil" characters that aren't just cartoonish parodies of it, because real evil is revolting. For example in BG 1/2 "evil" playthroughs just have you kill more dudes and that's about it.
Can you be a magic ranger in this game? Or something like that where you can shoot elemental arrows or spellbuffed arrows.
Did I just miss Lae'zal somewhere? I assumed she'd show up later in the game but I'm near the end of act 2
She's in a cage near the crashed ship with two tieflings guarding her.
At that point she is just gone. She gets captured by the refugees by a cage north east of the crash site, after a few long rests she is moved to the prison they have at the grove.
