Right now my main issues with the game are the assets and world design are all over the place. it's like they bought everything off the unity store or something. and the other thing is the game itself... it feels very generic. feels way more like dragon age than baldur's gate, right down to the cringeworthy cutscenes and companian approval meter. there's so many systems in the game that seem superfluous and it's not a very tight experience. still, it's cool. It's just not baldur's gate. Like I expected.

it still feels unfinished. I encountered a few typos and bugs in the first 2 hours. Every caster feels the same and every fighter feels the same. Races are mainly flavor text and the game has every party member flirt with you.

That isn't a microtransaction dumbass. That's a reward for the deluxe edition which you get for free if you bought the game while it was in early access. Microtransaction would be them shoving XP boosters or chests containing random loot that you have to pay with premium currency.
If it upsets you so much, download the pirated version of the game or use cream.api to add those items as they should technically count as dlcs.

Barb levels are pretty worthless after 5th level unless larian changed it, so then you could get seven monk levels to have evasion to pair with danger sense.
So go to barb 5, take monk after, respec to barb 4 monk 5 at 9 then keep taking monk to get the final ASI at 12.

I've always been skeptical about the idea that certain genres are inevitably commercially inviable. I remember arguing with people over a decade ago that the unwillingless of publishers to just produce good AA or AAA titles and market them, was precisely the reason those genres were "permanently" dead. imo it was always a self-fulfilling prophecy that crpgs and survival horrors died.
But I wonder if the current state of the internet can be more credited as it's a lot easier to spread word and create hype trains for more niche titles than it was in the past.

One of the most popular online games with massive knowledge burden (having to know the hundred or so heroes and items and their interactions and all that), and unlike single player games, you actually are kinda sorta responsible for your team to know this stuff and perform. Or, consider a game like Crusader Kings 2: not only does it have knowledge burden but it's just broadly inaccessible in a variety of ways, and it has sold a couple of million copies, the kind of target that a game of any genre could consider an immense success unless the devs blow $300M in making it. Heck, Dwarf Fortress has apparently sold half a million copies in Steam, and not nearly all people who have played it bought it on Steam, and it's the kind of game that even comes up when people make lists of games that are "the most obscure"/"most difficult to get into"! In contrast, the actual obstacle to playing a CRPG is effectively nil: you could play on the easiest artificial difficulty level, put 17 points to charisma as a fighter, RP a diplomat, and play it as a dating sim.
It really is just an excuse and you could even count multiple cases where "games that could never become popular" actually become bestsellers. Then people come up with all sorts of post-hoc rationalizations for why it's ackshually different. The truth is, people nowadays are just as smart as the previous generation, and capable of similar commitments to boot.. if they want to. "Getting filtered" is never the case, it's always the case that people just aren't interested. Often times because the game simply /isn't good/, although the greatest popularity requires games to "go viral", for reasons that nobody really seems to grasp because despite billions riding on this question, nobody has been capable of deliberately manufacturing viral products.

so, I have decided to put it down for the week until these bugs are fixed

No. 5e dnd has something called concentration that makes it so a spell caster can only have one strong spell running at once.
You can pre-buff for fights, but you're not going to be casting 20 spells like in pathfinder to stack six different strength bonuses and resists.

you find plenty of handaxes and javelins to throw at people. my dwarf doesnt have much movespeed so the first round of combat he often will move forward and chuck the magic javelin from the crypt. if I cant reach a target ill usually throw something since it seems to work better than swapping to bow. grove merchant also sold me a 100g ring that adds 1d4 dmg to anything I throw. you just gotta remember to pick them up after battle.
i also busted down a weak wall by throwing a box at it repeatedly (its immune to everything but force damage type)

Reloading a save can sometimes cause all dead enemies around to stand straight up in an idle position. They will still be dead when standing. The game eventually catches up and they will go back to laying down dead.
Why would I play this shit on release date instead of wait around for at least a year when they release any patches to fix potential bugs as well as getting access to a ton of other mods that improve various features of the game?

the slow turns are a FEATURE of the genre, not an issue that needs fixing.

it's pretty good though it could be better if quest NPCs were highlighted and there was a faster combat button though maybe I'm just trying to skip through everything too quickly
